We are a young couple from Newcastle and we are moving to Canberra for work at very short notice. We urgently require short-term accommodation until we can get settled in and find our own place. We would like to move in preferably no later than the beginning of June. Our preferred length of stay is around 2-3 months but we can be flexible with this. Elliott (22 y.o.) - Public servant and Clark Kent look-alike; currently working as a research assistant and finishing the last semester of a commerce degree via distance. Michelle (27 y.o.) - Recently completed a B.A. in politics and international relations; moving to Canberra to work and study at ANU. • We are mature, respectful, and clean up after ourselves. • We're sociable and easy to get along with, but we also appreciate having our own space. • We'll be working full-time hours Monday-Friday and studying during nights/weekends, so we're looking for housemates who are quiet and considerate, especially during the evening. (We don't mind sharing with other students as long as it's not a noisy 'party house' type environment). • We're not adverse to hanging out occasionally — it would be nice to know some locals who can show us around the city and recommend things to see/do in Canberra :) • Hoping to find a room that's already furnished because we'll need time to acquire our own furniture. All of our sheets, quilts etc. are queen size (and Elliott is also quite tall so anything smaller than a queen bed will probably be uncomfortable for him). • Elliott will need a parking space for his car. (I plan to bring my own car down from Newcastle in the near future, too). • I'll be relying on public transport for at least a few weeks, so accommodation located reasonably close to public transport would be preferable. • We would prefer to have our own bathroom/ensuite (if possible) but we're not in a position to be too fussy. • Decent internet/Wi-Fi and heating/cooling is essential.
Our beautiful ~Arthouse~ has the "Elf's Sanctuary" room available. A beautiful single's room in a double brick solid home with a modern luxurious interior with everything provided and maintained like a motel but a home. The house is covered in inspiring art pieces, influences and modifications by the in-house Artist. The home has everything you could want in a house made much more by the wonderful people in it. All rooms feature sealed unique art works, providing all the beauty and none of the worries. Our home is arguably second to none in beauty, provision and comfort, and would easily be in the top of any list! The ~The Elf's Sanctuary room~ is a uniquely beautiful room where the unique mural makes you feel serene and at peace and is uniquely funky and arty. An awesome single's room that comes with wardrobes, single bed and desk and table should you want it! All photos are of the actual home and room. The "The Elf's Sanctuary room" is $275 for a single. The price is usually $300, can be negotiated for the preferred person, then time of stay. ~ALL INCLUSIVE~ The rent covers all bills, utilities, levies and usage of abundance of equipment and amenities. The home is very spacious and completely furnished and equipped. 2 large luxurious living spaces: an awesome living room and a natural sanctuary backyard, 2 toilets, 2 showers, a bath and an awesome Art modified breezy balcony. The rooms can be flexible in furnishing as preferred. (Still with us? ... good ;) then you'll really like the rest) The people are most crucial to a happy home. I have always chosen wisely and patiently. We have continued to have amazing group of people here. I am looking for people who while being easy going are considerate, respectful and self-sufficient. Most housemates tend to stay indefinitely until their next phase of life when they must move on. We have become and mostly stayed friends. We have come to treat each other as one of the Musketeers of the Arthouse. We don't however live in each other’s pockets by any means. We are a collective of many varying interests, jobs and pursuits in life. More importantly, we are open minded considerate kind beings who are great to live among. Though we are definitely not a party house, we are for having fun and enjoying our time in a chilled atmosphere. All of us appreciate each others company and also equally value and respect each other’s space and privacy. I myself had spent most of my adult life running children services, community programs, and a Charity of Australia, even winning the 'Pride of Australia' medal. Now as part of my next phase of life I am happy seeing good people enjoying a home we built. I have my own space and home in the property and do not share in your household. You have the whole home to use. However I'm conveniently around to fix things when they need to keep the home sailing along smoothly :) The uniquely applied knowledge of voluntary caring environment to considerate understanding people allows for the place to be most enjoyable for all who are and have stayed in this beautiful home. We also do not suffer any of the cliché shared house problems. We have found the ideal number of people and maintain it as max though the large home could fit more people. The home is in a hideaway, uniquely quite, tranquil area of Maroubra; still within foot steps of everything. Tranquility is also the motive behind the backyard project that has progressed into a nice greenhouse sanctuary where you can sit back under cover at any time and do your choosing while listening to the birds and nature, music or have a BBQ! There is an undercover open Gym to be setup as the next phase of the backyard. The house is in its parts and as a whole very spacious, inspiring and while being most conveniently modern, very homely. The kitchen and bathrooms will be regularly cleaned, maintained and supplied with all necessary amenities. There is Platinum Foxtel connected to the large main living room/ dining with 4K LED tv with surround system in the lounging area and unlimited internet available through fastest Hub / Netgear WIfi 5Hz booster router in the market. The home is completely weather proved with a full home AIRCON system, An awesome BBQ in the under cover backyard, and a very cool balcony literally and metaphorically. ALL INCLUDED IN RENT!: UTILITIES/BILLS included. While the house is completely fitted and equipped with desirable gear to make it very cool to enjoy, it is that the daily cleaning, dish washing, toilet papers etc are all provided for that makes it more awesome! ALL INCLUSIVE in the rent amount. In your budget you would only be spending on food and personal items other than rent! No household expenses but still all the benefits of a full home! The house is few metres from the bus stop and down the street from Maroubra Junction: within metres of amazing Hefron Park with everything relating to training and sports, Aquatics centre, Cafes and Restaurants, Eastgardens shopping centre, Pacific square, minutes from the Beaches, NSW uni and city. The ethos for the home is to have good people enjoying this beautiful home in a community atmosphere that is inspirational and motivating. A labour of love and continues to hold beautiful people within it. Excited again to see another become part of our cool community! So, if this sounds like what you are looking for, get in touch! Though we are patient note that reassuringly the rooms usually go to the ideal candidate/s on the spot when found. All are welcome. I look forward to and hope that you can join us in our adventure of continued evolution of our Arthouse :) Viewing available by APPOINTMENT on my MOBILE or by this site. You can call or txt me any time to inquire further. We look forward to seeing you and hopefully welcoming you to our new adventure :) Kind Regards, Sudan. ~"Everything is Art or nothing is"~

Hi! I'm leaving the Kensington area and I'm looking for someone to take over my half of the lease (ends Feb 2019). The townhouse is three levels so there's lots of privacy and your own space. The free bedroom is large, currently I have a queen bed, large bedside table, and two bookcases in it but there's plenty of room for another bedside table and more. The wardrobe is inbuilt and ample, there's three seperate sections of it. You also have your own balcony. There's a big ensuite bathroom attached too (shower, sink, toilet, and storage). It's on it's own story along with the seperate laundry. The second level is the main living area with another balcony. There's air con/a heat pump, a large powder room for guests, and dishwasher. The third level is my housemates room and bathroom. There's parking in the garage, in the drive way, or on the street. Internet is unlimited and $20 per month each. It's a short 10 minute walk to three train stations in the area. There's a Woolworths, gym, tram, chemist, etc near one and a little further along lots of places to eat. Closer there's an IGA and service station. *The house is furnished except for the bedroom for rent.
I'm conscientious, neat and house-proud. I'm a keen gardener, love cooking (mostly vegetarian, but not strict about it.) Though social, I can be rather quiet. I'm more likely to be reading or listening to something on my headphones, than watching a blaring TV or partying late into the night. Not to say I don't enjoy a party from time to time. Non-drinker, non-smoker. I'm somewhat minimalist in my aesthetic, aside from my predilection for indoor plants. I am also interested in finding somewhere I can have an office/work space to share, as I work from home a few days a week.

Hi :) I'm 26, working full time as a nurse at RDH. I've lived in Darwin since April last year and I'm looking for somewhere semi-long term, ideally 6 months to a year. I love cooking, baking and curling up with a good book - but I'm definitely not opposed to having a couple drinks with housemates. I'm relatively neat and tidy, a non-smoker and pretty easy to get on with. Look forward to hearing from you!
