We may be biased, but we LOVE our little newtown home. Why else would we have lived here for over a year and a half.... We live literally ON a park. It's a dog friendly park and has a really great community of dog owners who bring their fur babies to play. It's pure happiness walking through the park every morning on our commute to the train station. We are very close to King street, though as we are one street back it feels very sheltered, green, and homely. We're a 7 minute walk (or 5 minute mad dash) to Macdonaldtown train station, 17 minute walk to redfern train station, 10 minute walk to Newtown train station and 20 minute walk to Erskineville train station. There is so much to do around our area, we are literally never bored. We're also very close to carriageworks, which has a farmers market every Saturday morning if that's your thing. Your room is large enough to easily fit a queen sized bed and a desk, and comes with a double wardrobe. The rest of the house is furnished apart from a fridge (if you have one that would be great! But if not, no biggie). Please note: the photos above are from before we moved in, we like to think it's a little more stylish now and there's no christmas tree :P the photo of a room is the room you would be moving in to.
