We are Clancy and Alice, a mid-20s Australian couple who’ve been studying postgrad in Melbourne and traveling overseas the past 7 years. This time last year we moved to Byron in search of the usual things, and instead discovered a desire to engage with the system rather than reject it (saying this, we still like wearing colourful clothes). We both completed internships in the Canberran winter, which led to jobs – Alice at the Australian Indigenous Governance Institute (ANU) and Clancy at the Green Institute, an Industrial Worm Farm, and Community Shapers. Our first few months in Canberra have been delightful, and have given us a chance to think about the type of home and people we’d like to live with.
We’ve both lived in share houses a lot throughout Melbourne, Byron and Canberra and enjoy communal spaces, interesting conversations, gardening, cooking feasts (we’re both plant based) as well as reading, swimming, camping, and all other adventures. We aren’t massive party animals but do enjoy live music, dancing and night time antics, and also having people over. Being environmentally conscious and politically aware is something that's important for us, as is open communication and passion for all the great things in life! The lease on the house we currently share is ending soon, and we are flexible with dates. Hoping to make the move anytime from now until the end of May.
