Fully furnished room available in ground floor, 2-bedroom art deco apartment in beautiful South Yarra, right by the exclusive Kings Domain precinct. Nestled between Fawkner Park & the Royal Botanic Gardens. Stone's throw from St Kilda Road & Shrine of Remembrance. Easy walk to the CBD, Yarra River, Albert Park & Toorak Road/Chapel Street shopping strips, but in a quiet, leafy area of its own. All forms of public transport (tram, train, bus & taxi) are close at hand.
Apartment contains everything you'll need to live in (since I already live here) including bed linen, towels, crockery & cutlery. Additional features include: dishwasher, washing machine, gas cooking & heating, shower over bathtub, flatscreen TV & DVD player, wireless broadband internet, communal courtyard, security entrance.
Bedroom contains double bed & bed linen, storage shelves, wardrobe, bedside drawers, fan, heater, large window with light & leafy outlook.
Ideally, this would suit a professional/traveler/international student without much stuff of his or her own, but who will be in Melbourne long enough to make it a viable alternative to a backpacker hostel or airbnb. A backpacker hostel wouldn't be nearly as nice. An airbnb wouldn't be available for nearly as long or as cheaply.
What you'll really appreciate, though, is the location. It's like the Melbourne equivalent of living in the Champs-Élysées, or Park Avenue. You'll be amazed at how central you are to everything, while not actually being in the thick of the urban congestion. It's close to all the CBD campuses like The University of Melbourne, Victoria University, Victorian College of the Arts, RMIT, etc. Come the warmer time of year, you are up for great strolls around the neighborhood and within easy distance of Melbourne's cultural institutions & events such as the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Arts Centre Melbourne, Australian Open, AFL Grand Final, Myer Music Bowl, Moonlight Cinema, Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre, White Night, Moomba, various other festivals & more...
I work predominantly from home, as a freelance script editor/copywriter as well as miscellaneous odd jobs on the side that I go out for. I tend to keep it quiet around the apartment and go out for my fun, but occasionally I'll have people over. I might listen to a bit of music or watch a bit of TV here and there, but not a great deal. There's no doof-doof or general raucousness, so if you need a quiet environment in which to study or relax: this is it. I don't smoke and rarely drink (although you'd be forgiven for thinking otherwise by the amount of duty-free liquor I've acquired from my various international travels). I'm neither slob nor cleanliness-pedant, so while I like to keep some relative order I won't get stressed by dirty dishes and the like a few days old. Non-religious, politically progressive, anything else you need to know: feel free to ask!
If you could include your mobile phone number with your message that will make things easier, as I'm not a premium member.
