It has been established as a hardworking house for students dedicated to their studies. The house consists of 4 bedrooms, open-plan living dining and kitchen area, renovated bathroom and front glazed entry great for collecting heat in winter. The house is fully insulated keeping cool in summer and warm in winter. Off street parking is available for smaller cars.
Residing on Wilkinson Ave, Avoca House is only 350m from the edge of the university campus and 500m from the Great Hall. Access is easy by bike or walking. The house is 650m from Jesmond Shopping Village meaning it is easy to simply walk to the shops and is also on a bus route into Newcastle and Wallsend.

This house has been upgraded to reduce its carbon footprint through several energy reduction features; these include the new insulation in the roof to reduce heating and cooling loads on the house and also solar panels on the front of the house to offset power consumption. Housemates are further encouraged to reduce their carbon footprint when living in Avoca House through a range of initiatives including bicycle riding.
