ABOUT BRUNSWICK: Chances are if you are reading this it’s because you already know allot about West Brunswick and what it has to offer. But in case you missed it please make sure you check out how close to the city it is on the map. On top of that its right near Sydney Rd and its bristling night life with places like the Bridie O'Reilly's, The Retreat, Brunswick Green, Howler and the Spotted Mullard (if you haven’t heard of all of them you should probably google them now), all of which are within a genuine walking distance from the house to and on the way home from a good night out.
IN THE AREA: for the weekend adventurer the Tullamarine Fwy (Citylink) is just down the road, and around the corner from the Eastern Fwy for fast tracking your adventures as you head out of the city.
If you are into your fitness or just like the outdoors:
--Brunswick baths has just reopened its Olympic pool and is about a 10 min walk.
--Perfect pilates is down the street, and
--theres a salsa dancing place between the house and Sydney road,
--Princess park, just up the road, has a 3.3 km running track with refreshing park views, which often includes the runners... (represented by both halves of the species)
--There is a golf course and about five cricket ovals for running and walking or whatever.
--Also there are about three bike paths in immediate area that I know of, I’m sure there are more.
--The city is less than a 8 min bike ride itself, happy to prove it if required.
In the immediate area: (2 minute walk) There is a full sized Coles supermarket with pretty much everything for your day to day needs open from 7 til 10.
In amongst it is:
-a bottle shop,
-2 independent green grocers,
-3 cafes including a gelato bar,
-A pizza shop, fish and chips, a noodle hut, Indian take away, a chicken and chips place and a sushi bar.
-There’s a great pub down the road (The Union Hotel), half way between the house and Sydney road and
-There’s a tram stop almost literally out front.
-Also the zoo and state hockey centre are a 10 minute walk, and have their own train station.
