Location location
We’re in a quiet part of suburbia and still only 5 minutes walk from the bush! Darebin Creek Trail is literally 5 minutes walk away. Our street is calm and peaceful with very little traffic, and runs between Victoria Road and Station Street Thornbury. Psarakos Market, Naturally on High and Terra Madre are all nearby. Extensive transport options include trains to South Morang (Thornbury station) and Hurstbridge (Fairfield station), the famous 86 tram (stop number 39), and so many bus routes all within 2 minutes walk to choose from! (buses 250, 251, 510, 552, 567 and 955). The bike and walking trails around here are amazing too, you can follow the creek all the way to the CBD, Collingwood and Bundoora!

We are community. Aged from early 20s to mid 30s, we’re open to people of all ages with sincerity, honesty, kindness and an enthusiasm for community. Communication is key to friendships!
Lauren (pronounced lore-ren), 28, is a massage therapist and is studying Chinese Medicine at SSNT, has a love of musical theatre, dance, yoga and bushwalking.
John, 36, also a massage therapist, naturopath and a musician. Knowing things and helping people are his things, common attributes amongst health scientists. If you’re interested in health and science John is your endless encyclopaedia.
Madison, 21, a brilliant artist and student who takes regular trips to the countryside. Madison is the most dedicated and passionate painter and sculptor and a real pleasure to hang with.
Tiffany has just moved across from Perth and is chef by trade. She has come across to Melbourne to also studying Chinese Medicine. A warm and gentle fun loving personality is Tiffany!

The bedrooms
There are five of them all up so there’s never a dull moment. The available rooms have amazing natural light and tonnes of storage space. One look and you’ll fall in love with the house.

The relaxo space
The house has a spacious sun-filled living and dining area with large north facing windows looking out onto the deck and large garden. The swish new kitchen with granite benchtops, double sink, walk in pantry and gas cooktop is part of the living area so expect company when cooking and eating.

The royal washrooms
There are two stylish high-end bathrooms, no seriously the fancy mega shower heads and amazing textured tiles make you realise you’ve never actually showered until now. Only one of these rooms has a bath but both have showers. There are a couple of toilets but one is an ensuite.

The back yard
The timber north facing deck with waterproof shade cloth is perfect for morning yoga and evening nibbles and laughs. The sunshine, water retention and soil quality gave us the biggest sunflowers and button squash (squashzilla) the world has ever seen, no exaggeration!

The sustainability
We’re big on sustainability and try to minimise our carbon footprint wherever possible within reason. We offer emotional counselling free of charge to those who take long showers. We have double glazed windows and block out blinds, and the ducted split systems powered by 100% renewable energy are currently set to 17 degrees to take the edge off winter and we don’t run it cooler than 25 degrees in summer.

The technicals
Rent is $195 per week each week in cash, bond is $800, and bills are not included in the rental price. If moving on 3 weeks notice is needed to advertise. Come as you are, but couples are also welcome, $70 per week extra. You should be able to offer an hour a week towards cleaning a common space and contributing occasional veggies, time, song or other offerings to community dinner, but these things are discussed and variable and flexible on availability and random acts of kindness.

The viewing
It is not an appointment or an interview, we’re not recruiting employees so there’s no reason for stress or pretending to be something you’re not, let’s be honest! Come around for a cuppa and a chat, we’d love to hear from you

Sorry no smokers
Sorry no daily drinkers
Pets considered if they attend the interview

Thanks, John & Loz
