Our humble abode is a quiet townhouse with an open plan living/dining room with a connecting kitchen downstairs and 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs. All bedrooms are carpeted, have built-ins and are fitted with ceiling fans. We have a fairly good sized backyard, with is generally used for bbq’s/entertaining from time to time.
The house is a short walk from Martha Street, which offers a great selection of cafes/restaurants, hairdressers, a barbershop. It is also just a 10-minute walk to the Coorparoo Junction on Old Cleveland Road, which gives you access to all major bus routes to universities and the city, as well as a local Coles & Woolworths.
We live in a very relaxed household where everyone takes responsibility for keeping the house in a good state. We don't have rules like "everyone only cleans up after themselves" - it is a group effort to keep the house clean and it's always worked well for us.
You will be sharing the bathroom with Brendan, he keeps it clean and is really easy to get along with.
Electricity and internet bills are split evenly between 3. We budget between $15 and $20 per week.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Side Note #1: Expect an updated photo of the room shortly, the room hasn't been an office for over a year now.
Side Note #2: The outgoing roomie is an exchange student who has a full room of furniture that she'd be willing to sell to the incoming person if they would like it.
My name is Jake and I am a 25-year-old male who is a full-time student at UQ studying Information Technology & Business Management. I also work part-time for a tech start-up near my university. I am an easy-going, active person who generally is able to get along with many different types of people. Always up for a laugh and while I am home I am generally either gaming, working, studying or netflixing.
Brendan is in the room across from the one available. He's 23 and works full-time for a law firm in IT Support on Eagle street in the city. He's always around to socialise and likes flying his drone in a few places around Brisbane. He is very easy to talk to and live with.
The ideal housemate for us is someone who is also easy going, enjoys an above average amount of banter, is a tidy person and enjoys Rick and Morty. The last part isn't necessary - but if it's 50/50 the R&M applicant will win (just kidding, we'll take it on its merits). The only other important factor is that we would prefer an applicant who has some type of stable job, or means of income.
