Large bedroom in spacious townhouse 5 mins from Rhodes station. Air con and dishwasher!
Greetings and salutations, I'm looking for a roommate in my pretty townhouse at Rhodes which is 600m from the station and the train gets to central in 22 minutes.
The townhouse has a courtyard garden with a worm farm, two toilets, upstairs bathroom with a bath, tv/living room with Nintendo Wii; an extensive DVD collection; kitchen with a dishwasher, laundry (outside clothes line), some storage space, and my artist studio which I'm very willing to share, especially on hot days as it has air con!
The property backs onto Brays' Bay park where there's a basketball hoop, picnic and public BBQ facilities by the water.
The m41 bus stops around the corner. We’re not far from Rhodes Shopping Centre (Yay, Ikea!) and Top Ryde Shops are a 5 minute bus ride far away by bus.
The Olympic Park is a skip hop and a jump away, as is Meadowbank Ferry Stop, Ryde Aquatic Centre, there's great cycling paths around here, and Concord is just around the corner with great cafes and restaurants.
I'm Lou, 29. I'm an artist and creative producer, mostly in the disability sector creating more projects and opportunities for people with disability to connect to the arts. Currently trying to expand my own arts consulting/ graphic design business. I also tutor French to HSC students in my spare time.
Terence is 30, from Wollongong, really easy-going, great sense of humour, into fitness and music and has big plans for saving the world's energy problems through working hard as an engineer. Go him!
We both cycle and I have an extra pushbike if you want to come along.
Poppy is my very friendly tabby cat who loves to sit people, rub against their legs just before they leave the house, and has a particular habit knocking pens and small objects off tables.
My roommate Sarah is moving out in March to go travelling and is looking to sell her furniture so items are available if you wish to purchase them from her.
We're looking for someone cool, who is more a weekend BBQ or wine and cheese night person than interested in loud house parties that end when the police get called. You know what I mean, keep things on good terms with the neighbours ;P
However friends coming by/ staying over is totally cool, in fact it would be great to meet some new people, plan some fun events, go out together, do some gardening or some creative/ artistic work together! The more the merrier!
Bonus points if you're an artist/ freelancer of some kind - it would be great to team up and fight the procrastination demons together.
At the same time, we respect that people need time to themselves, so don't be afraid to be candid about alone time. We all need that :)
You need to be willing to do your share of housework - we're not neat freaks but generally like thing fairly hygienic (I'm pretty sure I could be clinically diagnosed with phobia of cockroaches). Extra bonus points to you if you value recycling and buy products that don't hurt the earth/ are cruelty free :)
We would prefer a 3 month sublease as just a trial to make sure we all get on, but we're hoping for a long term flatmate.
