We're looking for a female housemate, preferably over 40 ( or late 30's minimum) to share this wonderful home. Available for rent is the main bedroom with built-in robes.
Included is a large 2 room shed to share with my other flatmate, which measures 3.25m X 3.2m (your share) and has power, concrete floor and shelving.
There is an open plan kitchen/dining room, wooden floorboards, shared bathroom, 2 loos ( one in the bathroom, one off the laundry), lovely garden and common spaces furnished.
There is on-street parking in a quiet street and we are close to public transport and a little shopping centre with café, bottle shop, foodworks etc.
As rent is paid monthly, to be clear, the room is $530 per month and a bond of the same is also required. We've not had a rental increase for a while and fingers crossed that stays the same but obviously if the rent goes up, everyone's rent goes up.
Bills are not included. There is unlimited internet with iinet of $28 per person per month and there will be a split of electricity, gas and water bills taking in to account that 1 flatmate is away 2 wks out of every 3. Cooking and hot water are all gas as is a wall heater in the kitchen/dining area.
There is a lovely garden here, front and back with space for further veggie patch development. We have 2 worm farms where all our veggie scraps go to. Anything not appropriate for the worms goes into our 2 compost bins. We try to be diligent in our landfill and recycling situations too and are extremely conscious of not wasting our resources.
I'm a freelance costume maker in my late 40's. I work long hours but I tend to catch up with friends after work a couple of nights of the week or on wkends. Being freelance, there are also some times where I don't have much work on. I don't watch TV and we currently don't have one, tend to prefer human company and doing things, listening to music, dancing, reading. I like a clean house, a weekly share of chores/gardening.
My flatmate, Anna-Marie, is in her early 40's and is a FIFO working in the mines in WA. She also studies millinery when she's in Melbourne and her share of the shed is her millinery studio.
We're looking for the perfect long-term flatmate, mature, relaxed, friendly who enjoys a bit of company to touch base as we will all be living in the same house. It's important to us to have a friendly, functional dynamic in our home. This is our current situation. Ideally we'd like a person who is independent in their social and personal life, but is interested in interacting in the vibe of the house; someone who will enjoy getting their hands dirty in the garden with us as we've been developing our vege patch and it's a pretty good provider. Someone employed and engaged in other things in their life, as are we, who will bring the right energy to this lovely space.
We are not smokers and would love it if you're not one as well.
Having a clean functional home is also important and so cleaning of main areas once a week is a desired situation.
Ultimately being employed or otherwise able to comfortably pay rent is required.
We've decided we don't want pets as it's a rental and there are some allergy situations.
