The apartment is a sub-penthouse in the Watergate complex. It has two bedrooms, both with ensuites (the photo included is of mine; they're both the same style, but the available ensuite is about a third smaller).
The available room has a large walk-in wardrobe with storage shelves above. The apartment has a decent-sized kitchen with a dishwasher, a shared living space with a three-seater couch, chaise lounge, TV and DVD/blu-ray player, and a small, adjoining dining room, a European laundry next to my bathroom, reverse cycle air conditioning in all rooms, and a full-length balcony with a great view of Docklands.
The apartment is fully furnished, but the bedroom is unfurnished. If you'd like to bring certain communal appliances or furniture with you, I'm willing to negotiate. =) Bills are not included in the rental price, but I have unlimited Wi-Fi ($37 each p/m), which works well shared. The total of the other bills (electricity, gas and waste) ends up being about $20 per person p/w; they're paid whenever they're due -- usually quarterly or bi-monthly.
The Watergate complex has a heated pool, sauna, and a small gym, which are all free to use for residents. There's also an available personal parking spot within the complex, if you require it, for $55 extra p/w. Alternatively, Southern Cross train station is only a 5-10 minute walk and several tram routes are below, operating on the free city service.
My name is Emma. I'm from Perth originally, but I've been living in Melbourne for seven and a half years now. I rent the apartment off my family, but they live in Perth. I'm 29 years old. I've just started a five-day-a-week post-grad teaching course at UniMelb, and I'll also be working a couple of shifts p/w.
I'd complete the social media verifications if I actually had social media accounts! =p I'm passionate about all forms of communication, films, food and firewater, photography... alliteration, apparently. I have a social personality and I consider myself a good conversationalist, but I definitely enjoy lone time too. The Master's will be pretty time-consuming, so you probably won't see a huge amount of me, but I'm always up for a chat if we're both in communal areas, and I'm often up for a film or some dinner out on the town when I have free time.
My current housemate is moving into a new place with his partner on Friday 17th Feb, so I'm potentially looking for someone to move in that afternoon, or on the afternoon of Monday 20th. I'm hoping to find an equally lovely, neat, hygienic, down-to-earth replacement. I'm looking for someone who wants to stay for at least a year, and my preference is for someone who's either single or in a relationship with a partner who'll only be over a couple of times per week max -- that applies to friends, too -- three tends to be a bit of a crowd in a two-person apartment. If you think you fit the bill, drop me a line. =)
