This is the main part of a 'Queenslander' style house which is fully self contained and separate to the other parts of the house, so you don't need to share the space with anyone else.
It's a great place with heaps of character and charm. Everything you need is right here! Very comfortable King size bed with all linen provided, fully equipped kitchen, private pool, unlimited wifi, cable TV and public transport in close proximity, 200 metres to the beach, 150 metres to cafes and restaurants.
The upstairs section of the house is separated into two parts, the main part you can see in the pictures, which is up for rent, and another part adjacent that is occupied by a lady doing her Masters degree at Griffith uni. The downstairs part of the house is also a fully self-contained separate living area occupied by a Brazilian couple and one other Brazilian guy who are studying English in Southport.
This house would suit either a couple, or a single person who are relaxed, good at communicating and socially intelligent and respectful and would like a place to call home for a short to medium term.
Our home is a peaceful sanctuary and we'd really like to keep it that way. This is not a party house and not suitable for people who want to play loud music late or make lots of noise in general as the house is still shared by other people. Also if you use drugs or tend to drink a lot this is not a suitable house for you. I'm very conscious of ensuring everyone who stays here lives harmoniously with the other occupants. I want everyone to feel at home here and ensuring we have the right dynamic is the most important thing for everyone.
Huge living room with Foxtel (cable TV), stylish furniture, great space to chill out and relax. The bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed, new linen including high thread count sheets and towels, dresser, mirror and bedside table as well as built in cupboard with hanging and storage space.
The kitchen includes a large fridge, island bench, dishwasher, and oven/grill/hotplates and is also equipped with all the basics to cook and clean.
The bathroom is an en suite only. The laundry is located on the ground floor under the balcony and is shared by everyone in the house. There is an 8.5kg LG washing machine and dryer. There is a big clothesline around the back of the house with plenty of hanging space and a clotheshorse for inside when it's raining.
There is also a study with a sofa bed that can be used for guests, although I wouldn't recommend sleeping on it for long periods.
You'll have access to your section of the upstairs part of the house, as well as pool, laundry and the yard. There is plenty of free 'on street' parking in either Mountbatten Ave or Tedder Ave or you can park on the driveway. There is also a garage however the old garage doors don’t really work well.
All utilities such as Foxtel, Internet and electricity are included in the weekly rent within reason.
Smoking is allowed around the back of the house, or in the yard next to the pool. Please dispose of cigarette butts appropriately and don't leave them lying around.
Main Beach is an up market residential and holiday area, it has a very relaxed feel and chilled out vibe. There are plenty of things to do close by including going to the beach, visiting Seaworld, shopping at Marina Mirage or Tedder Avenue, eating and drinking until your hearts content in the various restaurants and cafes close by, visit the Southport Surf Lifesaving Club or Southport Yacht Club, both great spots for a meal or a drink.
In regards to public transport, there is a bus stop across the road in Tedder Avenue if you're heading North towards Southport. If you want to head South, towards Surfers Paradise or Broadbeach, there's another one at Main Beach Parade a couple of blocks away, across from the Southport Surf Club. Alternatively, the Main Beach tram stop is a few hundred meters from the front door, via the Cafes and Restaurants of Tedder Avenue.
