Right now, I have large and friendly share home that has a larger room available this week - of 31 July 2017.
This home has build in robes and is in my 2nd share home a street away from the property listed here with the photos.
If you are looking for somewhere to stay during the 2nd semester at AMC or the Newnham Campus of Utas, then we might be the home you are looking for.
Get in touch and I can send you some pics and info on where the room is, and arrange a time for you to view it.
Otherwise, rooms in the home listed with photos here are available for 2018 student year OR fruitpicking work this coming summer from mid November 2017 onward.
It is fondly called VB and it has been home to students from around the world for over 9 years...so you will be joining a family that spans the globe!
When you see our kitchen wall.....you will see the variety of people who have shared this home with you - get your pic up on our wall and make history with us.
We also share family dinners with our other share home family...so you will be part of a new network when you walk through our door.
The home is two story, has a wonderful balcony overlooking a pretty garden, full of roses during summer, and looks out to the Tamar river, with the fabulous setting sun on a warm day.
Each room has in-room heating, all linen and bedding supplied - if you need it - with everything you would need for your study time here in Launceston.
You might be working in Launceston, studying at the AMC or the Newnham Uni Campus: study desk/lamp/chair, and rooms have double beds at least other than our fondly-called Sunroom. AND we are only 2km from the AMC/Uni...people staying here have walked, ridden bikes or used their cars/caught the bus.
There is a large wifi internet down-load you share with your housemates, and all the water and some of the power is included in your weekly rent.
Oh, and do you know, because your landlord lives in, you get to have someone who keeps your toilet/bathroom clean and the common areas clean too...now that is fairly amazing ;). Clothes and dish detergent is also included.
Most of the students who have stayed here have been PhD students, ocean or marine engineers, valuing the quiet space and ability to focus on getting their studies done vs dealing with share house politics which can happen in some homes.
So, if you like space to enjoy your down time reading a book in the sun or watching a movie, AND a quiet environment to study, this is probably a great place for you.
The home is a home for you while you are away from your own, with a great lounge that also overlooks the river and the sunny garden, with a large TV for times when you are over study and want to veg out.
If we sound like the sort of place you would like to share with us, call us or drop Suz a line and we can see if we both have a fit - looking forward to hearing from you soon!
There is room for you now...so dont wait. ;) Call us.
I have shared my home ever since I have had this property, and I have had the pleasure of people from Iran, India, Germany, Hong Kong, Taiwan, WA, Vic and the list goes on!
I am someone who goes out of my way to ensure the students who stay here have all they need to get themselves set up for their year ahead and during summer, I provide shared rooms for fruit-picking back packers too...which is a wonderful chance to meet more people and hear their stories.
I work in marketing and sales for a number of businesses, am someone who keeps fit and eats well, and enjoys making a space for people to enjoy, share good company and get what they came here to do, done.
Last year we mostly had ocean engineers and one of those students will return for 2017 too. He is from WA and is fun to be with and a great cook!
It is fairly common for students staying with me, to stay more than a year if their course is longer. They are welcome and it is great to have this ongoing connection.
We hope you enjoy your stay too and want to make it your home for however long you are here.
