The fine print:
The 78 year old owner and 51 year old son live here. That leaves 3 rooms, two of which will be rented out. The third will be kept as a study and guest bedroom.
No foreign furniture or bedding to be brought into the house as this house is now certified mould free and low chemical (Brand new allowed of course). Aerosol sprays are strongly discouraged as are air fresheners and strongly scented soaps and colognes. Occupant is chemical sensitive.
Bedding must be washed weekly at the latest, and the entire house must be kept very clean and tidy. Bedroom doors need to be left open as much as possible to aid in ventilation (This is how the house is designed).
Chores and "cleaning up after self" are critical for a smooth running household and no one should be expected to clean or tidy up after someone else. Your friends and visitors are your responsibility.
Bold print: We are seeking people who will function as a house hold not 'passers by' in the night. We envisage people sharing meals, a drink, some socializing etc. As well as having some hobbies that might make the house more interesting. We already do a lot of cooking, jam making, bread making and soap making. We have a LOT of garden space and if we find people interested in that, we can expand the gardens to cater for a LOT of free fresh food. Owner was a commercial market gardener.
Finances: Rent is $150 per room. Bills are free except if they head into the extraordinary range. As we have solar - we can use a lot of power during the day. Internet is connected (ADSL) and unlimited. Nothing more to pay. However common items such as cleaning supplies and so forth can be shared expenses.
BOND: 2 weeks rent, and rent is paid in advance. So $600 on move day and $300 every two weeks following. Bond returned on exit providing you are current with rent.
Pets: We have one fat lazy cat that keeps to the owners part of the house. She will shy away from you if you try to pat her. We do not want dogs. We are going to install chickens in a couple of weeks as this is an interest of mine.
Breakages: If you break it and its cheap.. no big deal. But if you break it or ruin it and it's expensive - then you just bought it and must replace it.
We have some work left around the house. If you want to earn a few dollars off your rent you can exchange it for labor. Most of this is painting etc. Big cleaning jobs like Windows, screens and gutters are a regular and those can be done for wage too. Otherwise we hire someone outside to do it.
Cleaner: We will use a cleaner if things start to fall behind. If you cannot do your weekly chores you must pay us for a cleaner at the cleaners hourly rate.
We have many things that make life easier for example a petrol high pressure washer (it will cut your fingers off) and air compressor, ozone generators etc. If you like to care for your own car.. this stuff is the bomb ! If you like cooking and like trying others wares.. this is also the house for you.
Plenty of other things I have not mentioned such as half the house is sound proofed from the other, and so forth. Main area's are tiled, bedrooms have beautiful epoxy floors (Brand new). No carpets.
We ERMI lab test the house regularly for mould to avoid contamination. We clean the air cons every three months and this clean is a big one (We uninstall - disassemble, clean, and reinstall) and use natural products so no chemical damage to people !
The place is very comfortable and big. It is a lovely home and has never been put to its potential and now it has been fully renovated at only 7 years old. Don't let this one slip away.
Most people do not put this care into their own family homes let alone a house with shared rooms. We have orientated the house around being healthy both physically and mentally.
