Hi! My name's Mel. I'm a considerate, quiet, drama-free, introverted yet friendly, geeky, easy-going 41/yo creative costume maker and part-time Ancient History student, living on a disability pension due to chronic illness. I work from home when I’m well enough so I’d ideally like to rent a place with either a second room or some garage or living room space that I can use for my creative work. I also love dancing and yoga so some floor space for practicing would be ideal. I’m very considerate of noise around others. I’m also happy to share my: Industrial sewing machines, filmmaking equipment, patternmaking table, Vitamix blender, various Tupperware gadgets, and media library of retro SciFi & Fantasy. I also enjoy gardening so some garden or balcony space would be ideal. I love pets (as long as they’re not excessively yappy), and, as an experienced professional petsitter I’d love to live with them, although I’m sadly allergic to regular cats. (I’d like to adapt a low-allergy one in the future and am also booked in to start allergy desensitisation shots). I need to move back to Brisbane asap for medical support and to rebuild my life after an isolating stint in the Northern Rivers during the pandemic. I’m looking for somewhere on a major train line, within an hour of the city. If you think I sound like someone you might want to share a house with then please get in touch 😊 (via text or email is best).

Hi. I'm a reasonable, tidy, approachable and reliable, slightly hairy person. I work part time, in and away from home and usually spend my free time enjoying the simple things in life. I don't work weird hours, just 9-5 and fit in with other 9-5s. Pretty quiet by 9. I need a large room or 2 small rooms, to build the large workspace I need for work. So built in wardrobes and storage space are important. So is a reliable nbn or access to router's ethernet port for some of my work equipment. If I anticipate using excess power with work I calculate it and pay with my rent as I go. For example a 3d print might take 4 days, so I'll pay a little extra. As for sharing fridge space, if you have room for another fridge let me know and i'll get one for myself, or if you already have one, I'd need 2 shelves and a door shelf. If you don't have that much room, then I'd probably pass on your offer entirely. I like to get out and about with travels. Cooking, movies and catching up with friends sums me up. In my 40's so I'm not a massive party person but I do like a bit of fun. Sociable, space respecting, private, positive, organized, creative, quirky. Due to my interests and online publications, I have bit of a fan following. Don't be put off by my fb. Books n covers. Keen in making real connections with people who are genuinely wise enough to want to know people directly. I'm looking for a long term share, a place to call and feel at home. Preferably with two or less housemates and guaranteed parking. I haven't ruled out a teamup. Msg me and we can do coffee. If this sounds like you, please say hi.

*flexible move date & length of stay* I’m friendly, neat and easy to talk to and like the quiet life although I also love checking out a gig, art exhibition, brunch at a cafe, or a sporting event (particularly cricket and rugby) here and there. I’ve also traveled around a fair bit of Australia and lived in the UK for a year. While at home I love watching tv, listening to music, doing jigsaws, reading and cooking. I'm also currently studying a Bachelor of Arts majoring in French, with a few years of an Education degree in there too. I have very eclectic interests so no doubt we will share at least one or two! Previously I have lived in student accommodation for 6 years. I had over 25 housemates in that time so I’m very used to sharing with all different kinds of people and personalities, aged between 18 and 38. I’ve shared with first time out of home “kids” to overseas students with very little English, so you can imagine I’ve become accustomed to all sorts and have become a pretty good communicator! I’m respectful of people wanting their space or wanting company over a drink or a shared meal. I’ve had many late night kitchen chats over the years and I can happily say I’m still good friends with quite a few of my former housemates! Ideally I’d like somewhere close to public transport as I don’t drive, so no parking needed. Preferably Inner west or inner south areas but if the place is right I’m willing to venture elsewhere. I only have bedroom furniture but willing to contribute if anything is needed. Flexible with moving date (late August to early October) and length of stay but preferably 9-12 months. Ideally looking to move September 7-17 but if need be I can do early-mid October as my current landlord is open to storing my belongings.
