We are looking for a SARBB - single, active, retired, baby boomer, to join our small self-sustainable community on a delightful 5 acres of organic farm and rainforest, 20 minutes north of Noosa, close to Lake Cootharaba. Each of the 7 comfortable newly built cabins offer a living space including ensuite and private patio. The communal areas consist of a grand Living Pavilion with breezeways and living and dining spaces, a winter room to dine and lounge with a fireplace, indoor/outdoor gas and wood fired kitchens, pantry room, tea/coffee kitchen, TV lounge, undercover car parking and a visitor’s suite. The position available is helping to look after the root and veggie gardens and herb pots. We only grow sufficient for our own needs. Ideally you will be single, active, retired and of baby boomer age (born 1946 to 1964), but these details are flexible for the right person. Some part time employment off site is acceptable. The other communal jobs of looking after the raised veggie garden and fruit trees, looking after the small animals, being the handyman and doing the communal shopping and controlling the food store are already being carried out by folk who understand self-sustainability and enjoy a small farming community lifestyle for older folk. There is the opportunity and encouragement to create small businesses onsite to generate a personal income if you so wish. Available is good internet via ADSL and TelstraTV, deep spring water, ample 240V off the grid solar power, 60m's of possum and bird proof raised veggie gardens, an enclosed and covered micro herb and seedlings garden, an enclosed root veggie garden, 8 large herb pots, 60 fruit bearing trees and seven free range chooks. In exchange for a very reasonable rent, which includes access to all the produce grown on the farm, water, power, Wi-Fi and the house phone, you will be asked to spend a couple of hours a day doing your choice of jobs and helping the community achieve self-stainability. The ensuite cabin available is 36sqm for $150/week. There is also an additional community cost of $60/week which pays for all the communal essentials and food not produced onsite. We are going to be working in Noosa and plan to be there for around 6 months but may stay longer. Hi I'm a full time abourrist apprentice / drillers offsider, I'm a non smoker rarely drink maybe once a month if that. I've moved from the far north to be near the surf love the ocean an surf. When I'm not working or relaxing at home I'm at gym or running or at the beach very active sort how ever don't mind a lazy movie Also haha. You can’t pass this up! This is a stunning acreage property with views of Mt Cooran looking out over a beautiful paddock with horses and a dam. The pool is huge and right outside your room. It is so quiet and you have the end of the large home all to yourself! You also have a spare room next to yours to use how you please, which will ensure all the privacy in the world at the cost of a flat share room. It’s perfect! We will need access to the laundry, but otherwise hardly access this end of the home. It is only 20min from Gympie and I travel to work daily at Noosaville which takes me about 35min. Note: we do keep mostly to ourselves and are busy workers and will also be away for a month later in the year. You will have the home to yourself from time to time as we occasionally like weekends away. The second room I mentioned earlier will not be exclusively yours, ie we have things stored in the cupboard. Anyone applying must be clean and tidy and definitely no smokers or cats sorry.
We live in a great location.... we are close to the shops, pub, rsl the boat ramp, Noosa river and double island point. 10min drive to Hastings st and Noosa’ iconic beaches and national park. We have two living spaces and entertainment area outside. And descant back yard. We do have a few oldies that live in our street so no crazy party animals. We are looking for someone who is neat and tidy and responsible for looking after their stuff as well as ours. As the kitchen and laundry are shared. This house is partially furnished so it must be looked after. No pets as we already have two dogs. Prefer someone who is fifo and over 25.
