The rent is all inclusive and covers: rent, broadband internet (basically unlimited), yard maintenance, a cleaner once a fortnight, and electricity. The house: a lovely high-set Queenslander in Railway Estate. Less than 5 minute drive to town, and about 10-15 minutes to JCU and the Hospital. A block away from a boat ramp and a park, and also very close to the bus stop (route 208, I think). The space underneath the house is lockable, and provides plenty of storage space. One shared bathroom. I also have a cat, who is pretty friendly and likes company. The room has floor to ceiling built-in cupboards, (and they're really high ceilings!), and is air-conditioned and has a ceiling fan. There is also a lock on the door. Hardwood timber floors. We (that's Jack and Anja) are looking for someone to move in with us into our beautiful old Queenslander with lots of character. Jack has bought the house a couple of years ago and we've been doing lots of renovation on it since, to make it a paradise everyone wants to call a home. The house has got 3 bedrooms, one of them could be yours (we'd like to keep one as a guestroom for visitors). It has got 2 windows, one of them facing the veggie patch and garden. There is a temporary milkcrate-bed in there at the moment, which can be used or stored underneath the house, if you're bringing your own. Right next to the bedroom is the bathroom with a big shower, a washing machine, toilet and lots of storage room for everyone's belongings. There is also a little office which at the moment is mainly used by Anja for her online studies and crafty stuff. The heart of the house is the big open living space where we like to chill on the couch, listen to music and dance through the kitchen whilst cooking amazing dishes for ourselves and sometimes for friends. From the kitchen/livingroom there are sliding windows facing the big deck and views onto our beloved garden. The deck invites to chill in one of the hammocks, do yoga on, have breakfast/lunch and dinner, be creative , read a book and listen to the birds. Because there really is not much else in our soundscape. We're very lucky to have a quiet neighbourhood. Downstairs there is a big garden, which is ever evolving and growing into a more and more beautiful space for everyone. Jack is a landscaper so he's got the vision, know-how and passion to create wonderful landscape in the back yard. At the moment there are 2 big projects happening. One is the veggie patch, which we've extended and are just starting to grow our own food again (which we like to share of course), and the second project is a paving job/water feature/ hanging daybed overlooking the vegetable garden. Underneath the house there's lots of storage room and the washing line, as well as Jack's workbench. All in all there is still quite a bit of work to do around the house and the garden, but it is already very liveable and homely.
