Current lease ends at January 22nd 2019, looking for a place to move in immediately after that > full-time phd student > friendly and easy-going > respect others' privacy > have a car (so that my roommate and I can go out and have fun on holidays)
I work full time as a lawyer. I'm vegetarian and I like to cook, go to the gym, ride my bicycle and go hiking. I also love to watch live sports games and musicals. I always clean up after myself and have experience living with a variety of people (one time I lived with 11 other people in an apartment for six months). Pretty chilled out, always happy to chat, hang out or cook dinner together, but also value individual space and privacy.
I’m originally from Canberra and I love what this capital has to offer. I’m looking to move out of home and into a comfortable place in a great environment/area. I enjoy my solitude but loves socialising and going out and doing fun activities or going to cool events that are on. I’m currrently studying part time and working. Will be starting uni full-time next year @ UC. Happy to just hang out and I’m always down for a good d&m.
I am responsible person who always is reliable, clean and easy. I can cook, and definitely willing to share the chores and other responsibilities. I have my own bed, bedroom furniture, and a small TV. I am originally from Queensland, but I've moved down here for jobs and life in general. I work at Coles in Curtin. I love movies, good food and love to have fun. I also have my own bed, side table for the bed, fridge and I also have a piano and two bookshelfs.
Just another bloke at the pub. I'm a former ANU and UC student and have done several sharehouses over the last 6 years odd, so understand the nature of various households. I'm flexible and able to adapt myself to the requirements of housemates, having lived with men and women of various individual natures. I am a Football (soccer) enthusiast, refereeing football and futsal regularly. I'm also playing local level (social) cricket on Saturdays, enjoy lawn bowls, pub trivia and local gigs. Anything fun, its all an adventure. I'm generally a sociable person, but have days where I'll disappear into a book or tv show in my room, as we all do. I'm Just a regular pleb frankly. I quit my previous job to travel to the World Cup in Russia, so I've been in Port Macquarie with my parents since returning from Europe. Currently on Newstart but I have 5 nights a week refereeing football/futsal lined up in Canberra so I will be able to readily afford essential living expences while looking for more regular work. Geographically flexible in Canberra area, mainly returning to Canberra for the purpose of cricket season. Trying to keep it on the cheaper side. Happy for a furnished or unfurnished room, any size. Any questions just give us a shout! Cheers, Matthew.
HI, I'm Krystel and currently looking at finding a room for the next 3 to 6 months starting end of September. I'm originally from France but have been living in Australia for the past 7 years so it's pretty much home. I am moving from Sydney to Canberra for work, and was hoping to eventually get my own place, but it'll be easier to get a room to start off with. I'm super easy going, very tidy, a vegan but I don't care what you eat (no joke! I'm not one of the crazy vegans), and don't intend on bringing the part home. I usually keep to myself but happy to hang out and have a chat every now and again. I am very busy outside of work, so don't spend much time at home so you'd barely ever see me yet I would pay rent! Win Win! I'm also looking for a place for 6-9 months as I'll then be trying to get my own place. Any questions, please ask :)
Hi! I'm an easy-going, tidy and respectful housemate. I keep pretty busy between studying and working, but in my spare time I like being active, cooking, socialising and visiting family in Victoria. I'm looking for a fairly long term arrangement, and am after a room with a wardrobe and space for a double bed and desk. I am also after one car parking space. Cheers, Felicity
Hi, I’m Phoebe. I’m a primary teacher who works hard during the week and I love to socialise on weekends. I’m moving from a regional area in Northern NSW and will be looking for a place from mid Dec or earlier for the right place. Being from the country, I love fresh air and green space and getting out and about. I would prefer to move into an already established house, but would also be happy to team up and get a place. I am a clean and tidy housemate, who lives an active and healthy lifestyle. I love playing hockey and going to the gym! I also don’t mind a cheeky mid-week wine and quality convos. I have a 2 year old miniature dachshund called Edwina. She’s a legend and if you’re a dog person you won’t be able to help but loving her too! We are super easy going and love going for big walks. I’ll be down that way a few times over the coming term so if I sound like I might be a fit for you, let me know and we can meet up over a coffee and a chat!
Hello, I am a working professional moving to Canberra for a new job in the public sector. As a friendly, clean, respectable and helpful father of 2 who also live in Canberra, I hope to find accommodation alone or with just one other to share. I enjoy visiting art galleries, museums, classical music, wine tasting and walks.
Hey there - I’m a journalist moving to Canberra to cover politics. Looking for somewhere close to Parliament. I’m very clean, very friendly, and possess an adorable Scottish accent. Plus I alway pay bills on time. The only downside is my cooking, but I'm working on it.
I am a health professional currently looking for a property and a suitable housemate to share within close proximity to the Canberra Hopital. I am quiet, clean, friendly and hope to share with someone who is similar. I spend most of my time at work or at the gym and enjoying the simple things in life. Ideally looking for a place to live I can call home and feel safe and secure.
I’m about to be transferred to Canberra and will be working full time. With this being my new home, I’m going to explore try to be out on the weekend exploring all what this city has to offer. Non smoker and have no pets. I’m fairly easy going, non confrontational, and not too loud. Responsible and reliable with rent. I am respectful of my flatmate’s possessions and space. I try to keep fit with cycling and a bit of running. I am clean and tidy, and happy to share the household chores.
G'day, I'm James! I'm originally from Adelaide, but moved to Canberra mid last year. I work full-time as an engineer, but I also study part time as a postgrad at the ANU. I'm pretty sociable and will happily have a chat or a couple drinks after work if thats your speed; otherwise I more than willing to give you your space and keep a low footprint at home. Between work, gym, uni and my partner I keep pretty busy so I like to keep my space at home tidy and try not to be a burden on anyone else. Feel free to get in contact and have a chat, I'm pretty easy going.
Looking for a new room as the share-house I'm currently in is being sold. I work full time in the public service and am aiming for somewhere fairly clean, relaxed and close to work. Would also strongly prefer an en-suite or own bathroom, but otherwise am fairly flexible. I mostly just read and watch movies at home, so will generally keep to myself, but do also enjoy the occasional chat/drink/baking session/Netflix binge/games night (and not averse to a good party either if that's your thing)! I'm originally from Melbourne, so would be keen to reconnect with any fellow Melbournians, but that's definitely not a requirement. Otherwise I'm a pretty tidy, easygoing person, and a non-smoker.
I’m an honest, reliable, clean and tidy professional. Pretty relaxed but do prefer a clean home and to share with others who like the common shared spaces to be kept tidy. I’m friendly and quite happy to share a meal or a glass of wine and have a chat on occasion but I like my own space. I’ve shared with 2 girls in their early 20s the past 2 years; it’s been fun to hang out and it’s worked because we respect each other’s privacy and individuality. I am open to sharing with people of any age if they are mature, respectful, trust-worthy, self-aware with a positive, can-do, friendly attitude. Art, hiking, cycling, Pilates, Netflix, great food, coffee and wine, board games, authenticity and honesty are all up there as things I enjoy and value. I’m really looking to live as near to my workplace as possible so Braddon, Reid, Manuka, Kingston, Red Hill, Garran, Griffith are my preferences. $300/week including utilities is my maximum. ** I’m flexible with length of time to house share - between 3-7 months starting early November (I’ll be housesitting from May 2019)
I am moving to Canberra Mid-October to start a new position in the public service. I am friendly, tidy and love a good chat over a glass of wine at the end of the day. I am currently studying externally, so will often be required to lock myself in my room and study, but as soon as those assignments are submitted, I'd be keen to get out and see Canberra! :)
Hi I'm Kyle - Just moved to Canberra for work, from Christchurch (NZ). I work full-time in Fyshwick at a technology/engineering company, and often head to the gym or mountain biking outside of work. I enjoy meeting new people and I enjoy most things fitness/sports. Although being a kiwi I still have know idea what is going on during an AFL game (give me a few months...). I'm tidy, clean, and respectful of people I'm living with. I think I have a pretty good sense of humour and am always up for a laugh. I'm looking at short-term accom from the end of October through to roughly when my partner moves over from NZ (January sometime) and we move on to a 2-bd + place.
I am pretty quiet, enjoy tea, chats and have great taste in TV & poetry. I'm currently working part-time in the community sector and loving it! Canberra has got me hooked on latin partner dancing, yeah I didn't see this hobby coming either :p
Hey, I'm Justin, I'm a 29 year old Trade mark Examiner with the government. I'm pretty quiet but sociable, I'm housetrained (been living in sharehouses since I was 20), and enjoy reading, gaming, trying to cook, riding bikes and archery. Looking to rent a place near Woden, where I work, but I'm open to anywhere
This is a super quiet and peacefully cosy little cottage in the well established part of Weston. Recent renovations give the house a clean and fresh feel, and there are all the comforts that make a house feel lived in and a home. I'm ideally looking for an easy going housemate, with lived experience of sharing and considerate of other personal space and belongings. Ideally you'll be 35+, professional, well traveled, active and willing to share on a 2-6 month basis, longer for the right person. Suited to someone who is moving to Canberra and looking for somewhere short term while you're looking for your own place, or even if you find yourself travelling to Canberra on a regular basis and you just would like somewhere where you can safely leave your belongings from week to week. Sort of like a home away from home, that would be great for me too. Your bedroom has an amazingly comfortable double bed with storage drawers underneath, a wardrobe, chest of drawers, a bedside table with lamp, and fitted with an electric blanket. A desk can be provided if required. I have been Airbnb-ing the room for a while so the house is well kitted out for comfortable short term stays. I'm happy to negotiate other furnishings. There is a lovely back veranda area, with a hammock which is so peaceful for a snooze or quiet read in the warmer months. Deck is perfect for alfresco dining also. Lots of bird life in the back garden, add to the peaceful environment. I have solar generating around 75% of electricity usage in the house, and rainwater tanks plumbed into whole of house too! So if you're even slightly aware of your environmental footprint that would be a bonus. 5 mins walk to bus stop, 10 mins walk to Coolaman Court shops, restaurants and other facilities. Westfield Woden just 3 km away, so walking distance or an easy bus ride. Canberra Hospital 4 km, ANU 8 km, CBD 8 km. Easy access to main arterial road network and bike ways. There is lockable storage for your bicycle or kayak. I have a tendency to be a little on the OCD side towards it being clean and tidy house - that means always cleaning up after yourself so if you're used to sharing space, mindful of privacy, and being respectful of others personal belongings, and this sounds like you might be a good fit, great, get in touch :-)
The house is spacious and has amazing views. It has a big living room, decent dining room and kitchen, and a big yard that backs onto the red hill reserve. Deakin is a nice neighborhood and very central. We are a 5 minute walk from 3 bus routes and within riding distance of Civic, ANU, Woden, and Manuka. Groceries and cafes are There are two rooms available if you have a friend who is also looking. The rooms on offer are quite large with space for a double or queen bed, desk and bedside tables. One of the rooms (photographed during the day) can come furnished if that would be more convenient. You would have to buy the furniture. We have a cleaning schedule and all share the responsibilities associated with maintaining a tidy space.
Hi I’m 19 yo working full time in pipeline renewal. I work 10 hr days and also travel quite often for work so you’ll rarely see me. I’m friendly, pretty easy going and always up for a chat. I’ve been living in share houses for 3 years now so I know how to respectfully live with others and I always pay my rent on time.
Hey guys (and girls). I'm a 27 year old male currently working in the public service. I have been living in sharehouses from the age of 19, so I'm well accustomed to living with others, paying bills on time and cleaning up after myself - I also have no issue with cleaning a bathroom or mowing the lawn on a 40 degree day! I'm well beyond my days as a partier but still enjoy a social beer or a bbq with housemates. I'm pretty quiet during the week and out and about or riding my motorcycle on weekends. As I own a bike storage or garage space would be great! My current lease expires mid Jan, so I would be looking to move any time around then. Look forward to hearing from you!
I’m a quiet, tidy, respectful tenant looking to move in ASAP and I am flexible with my length of stay (6+ months is preferable though). I work full time Monday to Friday and spend most of my free time with my horse, Ellie. I love animals so I’m fine with any pets. I appreciate my time alone at home to binge watch lame tv and nap, but I’m also up for a chat/movie/dinner etc if it’s available. I don’t eat meat but I can cook pretty well so it makes up for it!
I'll be putting photos up in a few weeks, as this is just my first draft. Walking distance to Coolemon Court ( Woolworths, Aldi, restaurants, ) . , V quiet neighborhood, room for vegie patch and dogs. Has ducted heating and cooling, very modern kitchen, Foxtel and internet available, 100m from bus stop. This property has easy care gardens, and 3 bedrooms. These two adjacent bedrooms sharing the main bathroom, and an almost entirely separate main bedroom with an associated suite of rooms. Very large living areas Does not have much furniture, a fridge or washing machine ATM, but does have a dishwasher, large cooker and microwave. Be good for an APS employee transferring to Canberra, as I'm OK with a 3-4 month share while you get your bearings. Weston is a quite central area, Gungahlin is a bit of a hike, but Belconnen and Tuggeranong are only about 15-20 mins away. Woden, Civic and the parliamentary triangle are all cycle distance away and about 10-15 mins by car. House just has a nice aspect.

So Liv is growing up and buying her own house, so there’s going to be a room free in this amazing house in Deakin. We’ve got it all set up nice. Comes with air conditioning, ducted gas heating and a wood burner for winter which is awesome. Good sized back yard which is excellent for BBQs. Two living rooms recently updated bathroom and a retro kitchen that is well equipped. Lots of storage in the garage and close to the local shops, lake, Woden and Civic. Olivia will still stay for a little bit while she sorts out her new place so rent will be more like $230 a week until she moves, but after that it’s half a house and there will be a spare room for guests. Once she pulls up stumps we’ll have to put you on the lease too. Photos up soon, but you can google recent listings to get an idea of the place.
Friendly room-mates, group of male friends who are mostly students at the ANU and UC. Easy going, if you need a room I am moving out to go overseas and we have a cheap spot for someone. **Photos are from property listing - the furniture etc. has since changed and been replaced by our stuff.**
Our house is in the amazing suburb of Deakin where you are a 1-minute walk to the shops and less than 10 minutes from Manuka, Kingston and the City. The free room is huge, with plenty of sun and abundant storage. The super cheap room price is simply because we are very lucky! We have a large backyard with a thriving lemon tree (perfect for cocktails), and a sunny deck. There is high-speed unlimited internet access for the whole property.
House is spacious, fully furnished and centrally heated. It is close to Woden Plaza and bus interchange. Guests enjoy hanging out together sharing a roast dinner on the weekend or a pizza mid-week. We are willing to help each other and co-operate in keeping the common areas tidy. There's privacy in single bedrooms, but if guests want to watch a movie they can do so in the communal lounge where a library of books and board games has also been provided.
This 2br ground floor flat is close to Woden Plaza and the Hospital. It's quiet and overlooks/is surrounded by parkland. There is an airconditioner and some other furniture (fridge, microwave and washingmachine). It has a deck and courtyard garden. Undercover parking with some storage as well as offstreet parking. Would suit a single or couple. Flexibility in when you can move in. Electricity is extra.
Getting in super early to see what's out there, having just been accepted into a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Secondary Education: * $150ish or less p/w, could pay up to $180 if it includes bills * Close to UC campus or in an area where there are buses that go to campus (I don't drive). * Footy/sport in general/music/TV/cows are my kinda things. * Keen on a household that is social in a ‘can eat and watch TV together sometimes’ kind of way, but isn’t a party house all the time. * This is my 500th attempt at uni so I won’t be going out too much but I’m also not adverse to a drink (or ten, if the situation calls for it). * Wouldn’t be my first time out of home so I’m well house-trained, and would prefer a clean home. * Bonus points if you have pets because I’ll miss my cat. *Female house preferred but not totally essential. Moving from Sydney and will hopefully have Youth Allowance, but will definitely also be looking for work. I have 8 years of experience in fast food/hospo so hopefully shouldn't be too hard in theory.
I'm easy going, fun, can chat about a really great range of topics and love music - almost any kind. I'm a single, mature age uni student, photographer and a bit of a nerd! And I'm not afraid of housework. :) I grew up in Canberra and love that I still call it home.
I'm working 2 casual jobs and studying to get my business and administration degree at UC. I love meeting new people and am keen to make friends with my housemates. I enjoy sunsets and having a few drinks, but I also value time to myself and a peaceful place to come home to. I LOVE pets and am basically just looking for a clean, relaxed and affordable place to live.
