Hello future flat mates! WE HAVE ONE DOUBLE BEDROOM LEFT: "I HAVE A DREAM". $125 PW. (See photos above and detailed description below) My name is Emma Gillespie, and I am a 22 year old backpacker from Scotland currently travelling Australia on my gap year! I am currently managing this property on behalf of my wonderful friend Matt, and we are looking for new flat mates to welcome into the house! Moving in with strangers can be a little daunting, so here is a little bit.. ABOUT US :) Matt and I first met in 2013 when we were volunteering in Ghana, Africa. I was working in the orphanage and Matt was teaching in a local impoverished primary school. From there, we became great friends and always kept in touch despite being from opposite sides of the world (I, Scotland. He, Australia). We met up again in summer 2014 when I was working in a camp in West Virginia and Matt was travelling around the USA. Then, after graduating in June 2016, I commenced my gap year which took me over to Australia, were Matt kindly let me rent a room off him! I have now been living with him for 4 months and I absolutely love it! I am currently working as a Children’s Photographer and Matt owns his own business. We are both very chilled out individuals, with open hearts and are exciting about the possibility of having new room mates! WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We are looking for full-time employed individuals between 24-30, either males or females, and couples are welcome also. Our house is pretty big (5 bedroomed, 3 bath, huge living/ kitchen area with separate living room) and is very spacious, hence why we are renting out the spare rooms! We have 3 large double bedrooms currently up for rent at $150 a week (pm). All of the rooms are spacious, and can comfortably fit couples, or single individuals. Both couples, and single people are both very welcome. All the furniture in the room can be rearranged to your preference when you arrive, so you can really make it your home! Bedroom 1: “I have a Dream”. LAST ROOM AVAILABLE Inspired by Disney’s, ‘Tangled’, I decide to paint the romantic ‘lantern release’ over the castle theme on the wall, so sorry again boys, this room is a bit girly too! Although, our last tenant was a boy in this room haha, so it can't be too 'girly'! It is one of the smaller rooms off the kitchen-living area, but it is extremely cute and cosy. It is currently set for a couple, with 2 single beds pushed together, but we can separate the beds for you also. This room has a built in wardrobe, and comes with a bed, bedside lamp and bedside table. The bathroom for this room is down the hallway, with a separate toilet and shower room, which you will have to share with 2 of our current housemates (a male and female). Cost for this room SINGLE PERSON: $135.00 per week COUPLES: $230.00 per week. (includes bills, no internet. Internet can be arranged for $25 per month) Bedroom 2: “Everest” (TAKEN - by a awesome female German backpacker, 28 years old) I decorated this room with my bucket list goal in mind (to climb to base camp everest) so it is my favourite room in the house! The room is for a single occupant and comes with everything in the picture - full chest of funky coloured drawers (also decorated out by me), the single bed (all bedding, sheets ect included), bedside lamp and there is a built in wardrobe. Although this room is on the smaller side, I feel it has the most character and is super cute and cosy. This room also comes with a shared bathroom, and separate toilet which you will have to share with 2 other house mates (currently 2 males). We are looking for someone full-time employed between the ages of 25-30, ideally with a car. Cost for this room SINGLE PERSON $125.00 per week (includes bills, no internet) Bedroom 2: “Adventure is out there” (TAKEN by a lovely 24 year old girl.) Matt let me have complete creative freedom with this room, so as a major Disney fan, I painted a quote from Pixar’s ‘Up’ on the pink wall (sorry boys!). This room was originally my room and it is very large. We have 2 single beds in there currently (you can pull them together for a couple / take one bed out for single person. We’ll make arrangements accordingly). This room has a full length mirror, walk in wardrobe and your own en-suite bathroom. I can vouch for this room as it has a soft spot in my heart! Cost for this room SINGLE PERSON $150.00 per week COUPLES: $260.00 per week. (includes bills, no internet) Bedroom 4: “Mr. Men” (TAKEN by a fab 27 year old guy) This room is the only boyish room, with blue walls and Mr. Men curtains, as I haven’t touched it haha! It is the largest of the 3 rooms, located at the very back of the house. This room comes with a bed and chest of drawers. You will have to share a bathroom with bedroom 3. Cost for this room SINGLE PERSON: $135.00 per week COUPLES: $230.00 per week. (includes bills, no internet) In total, we have 4 rooms for rent and are looking to fill our last room. OUR LOCATION Obviously, this is a very important one as this is a big decider when looking for somewhere to live. Our address is; Our location is quiet but lovely, and we are nestled in a very safe, cosy area of Dandenong North. If you have a car, that would be ideal for you to get around as we are a wee bit out the way - but don’t panic if you don’t. There are busses and there is always Uber as an option to take you to the train. From our house, we are a 10 minute drive to the train station, where it takes 40 minutes to get into Flinders Street, the heart of Melbourne city. We are roughly about half an hours drive to St Kilda, the thriving beach side backpacker hotspot, and there are beaches and small towns (Sandringham, moridalloc beach) all within 25 minutes drive. Despite being a little bit out of the city, it is actually nice to live in a relaxed community street knowing that the hustle and bustle city is a short drive, or train journey away! There are no commitments or minimum length of stay required, although, it would be great to know how long you were hoping to stay for! So, if you are open-minded, fun, chilled out like-minded travellers, we would love to hear from you! If you have any questions at all, or would like to arrange a viewing, please do not hesitate to contact me. If you could please include the following in your message to me, that would be much appreciated: - Age -Nationality -Intended Length of stay - Do you have transport? - Are you employed? - CONTACT NUMBER / EMAIL (very important so I can easily contact you!) Looking forward to hearing from you, Emma and Matt

I am a very relaxed and open minded person. I am clean and tidy and respect others and their privacy. I work in a very multicultural environment and I enjoy learning from these great people about their culture and religions. I am a quiet person to live with and have a very positive and happy outlook on life. I work hard during the week on afternoon shift and will be spending most weekends away as I have a place near the beach that I am continuing to rent as I love the ocean!. I want to rent another place closer to work to save time during the week as it is over a two hour round trip to work every day and after tens years I am over the weekly commute :-)
Hi, we have moved to Australia two months before for my wife's studies from Sri Lanka. We are very quiet and nice people who you can share your house/flat with. We would like to go for movies and walk around for fun. We do not smoke or use alcohol so that, none of us will make any trouble for you!!! Cheers!!!!
Hi, I work unloading shipping containers of wine in the Dandenong area an average of 25-30 hours a week. I am also looking to get back into repairing musical instruments for a bit of extra cash. Outside of work I'm a huge music fan so most of my spare time is spent listening to music and practicing guitar. I use headphones and computer software to so you don't have to hear me practice. I'm also into comedy whether it be cartoons like South Park or stand ups like George Carlin or Bill Burr. I'm respectful, clean/hygienic, and mature person. I don't party, smoke or do drugs besides the occasional drink. My limit is $180pw including bills and preferably internet connection. I've been saving for a house for about 2 years now, so paying rent is not an issue. I plan to stay 6 months, perhaps longer depending of a few family variables. Anyway please contact me if you want to team up, have a spare room, or have any questions.
I am a 17 year old student. I work part time. Easy going and can engage with new people. I can cook and I keep my things clean. I am bubbly and can keep a conversation. I am great with young children and good with animals too.
Myself and my partner are currently looking for a permanent residence in Melbourne. My partner has already moved over and i will be moving on the 21/06. Currently we are able to stay with friends until we get on our feet however we are wanting to find somewhere for ourselves ASAP. My partner has had 3 job trials this week so fingers crossed he will soon have employment, i am coming over unemployed however i endeavor to hopefully have a job within the first week or two also. We are laid back, keep to ourselves and are very tidy :) feel free to contact me
I recently had to leave my previous place of accommodation in Pakenham due to a cut in the hours at work. Despite not missing any payments, my housemates screwed me over and kicked me out. I have since obtained some more hours, gotten some financial assistance while also continuing to look for additional/new work moving forward. I have been staying with a friend for the last few weeks which has also helped financially, but have since had to leave there leaving me without a home to stay. As a result I am in urgent need of finding medium/long term accommodation. I would prefer to avoid short/term or temporary as I really do require some stability. I work in the IT industry with stable employment (technology is very much a passion of mine). I'm certainly not the party type, and don't smoke or drink so there would be no issues there. As stated, I am happy with medium-term or long-term accommodation. If it's medium-term, I am morr flexible with what I am looking for than if I was planning to settle in somewhere long-term. I do not drive, so somewhere close to public transport is essential. A nearby train station is ideal but a nearby bus is suitable too. Bonus points if you have a cat :) (I don't have any of my own). My preference is for somewhere along the Pakenham-Dandenong or Cranbourne-Dandenong train line but open to other areas, especially if it's only medium-term. I was previously interested in the Pakenham-Traralgon area as well but unfortunately the regional V/Line fares are a LOT more expensive than I was expecting which removed those options from the table. My budget for long-term accommodation is around $200/week but will be less for medium-term accommodation as I will still need to pay for storage of my belongings elsewhere. To settle into something long-term I would need to be able to get my things out of storage. Happy to further discuss what I am seeking regarding long-term accomodation, but space would be high on my list. Sharing of meals would also be ideal. I do suffer from OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), but am coping well. But you are a judgemental person or have issues with people who have their own struggles in life, then you are not the right house for me. If you can look past that, you will find I am a genuinely nice person who likes helping others and regularly goes out of my way for others, but unfortunately I have certainly not received anywhere near the same back in return. In fact many of the people I have helped out have returned the favour by simply screwing me over which is beyond disappointing. My last housemates were no exception to this. I'm quite an open and friendly person and I have nothing to hide so feel free to get in contact and say hi or ask any questions you may have. You are best to reach me through Gumtree messaging or via Facebook if you prefer. Unless I'm at work I'm usually contactable :). Alternatively if you know of any job opportunities in the IT/AV industries, or even know of anyone requiring any casual or home/small business IT/AV work, please also let me know :). Also, it's a shame I have to even say this but it seems I do. If I contact you regarding a room you have available, and it turns out I'm not what you're looking for for any reason, that's fine and no hard feelings but please don't just read my message without taking the time to let me know. I have lost a lot of time waiting for people to respond who never did, or who have just stop responding out of the blue. Not only is this quite rude and uncalled for but it's also really not helpful to me in my situation. Shaun
