On offer is a room & board in my family home which is about 6km outside of Richmond (off Grass Tree Hill Rd). There is NO bus service within walking distance from home, but there is a bus service in Richmond town centre. I drive to Hobart most days (I work in the CBD) which takes about 20 - 25 mins. I have plenty of off-street parking. Quiet home on a couple of acres overlooking the Coal Valley. The deal would be no board / rent (but food and internet to be paid by you) in exchange for some childcare when I need to go away for work and some housework (e.g. floors, bathrooms, shared room). I do not go away every week or month - but, there are patches where I may be away for 1-3 nights. I never work over weekends. We have previously had PhD student boarders in Geelong (our last house) and it worked well. You must be friendly and easy going.
The bedroom that is available is a sunny double room with magnificant mountain views , queen bed , wardrobe , linnen , bedside tables etc. It has a private entrance and private off street car parking. The property has recently been renovated with polished timber floors , modern low cost lighting, new windows , brand new bathroom and a big timber deck (which is almost finished.) Its beautifullly sunny all day, facing north with mountain and water views on top of a reserve. The house is surrounded by gardens and lawns with an auto watering system ( low maintenance) and has a big sun terrace off of the sunroom/lounge space: this is in addition to the seperate kitchen and deck area . (so plenty of private space to hang out ) . its a quite household with the feeling of a home not a flatshare party house. its 5 m walk to Prince of wales bay marina and waterfront reserves , jetties , local shops . Bus stop 2 minutes walk. 8 min drive to centre of Hobart CBD and 5 min to Glenorchy and Moonah.
The house is large , bright and sunny with gorgeous mountain views and has just been renovated with a sun terrace, polished floor boards and new bathroom. The bedroom room has views of the mountain and comes fully furnished with modern dimable lighting and heating. The house is fully insulated so is warm. The social spaces and kitchen are well laid out so there is lots of space to cook and spaces to go and be quite if you dont want to socialise with others. We are really close to the CBD only 10 minutes , transport 2 minutes from the door , off street private parking for your car. Shops are walking distance as is the waterfront and parks.
We have great skills in the kitchen and are always happy to do our part in keeping our home clean. We are both respectful and neat people and never miss payments of rent or bills. Happy to stick to ourselves if wanted but are sociable people who enjoy a good chat and occaisional drink. Looking to move in asap as our current living conditions do not suit our needs. We're both about to resume our studies, and as such wont be around much of a day.
I'm quiet, mild mannored and gentle. I'm not into big parties, but I don't mind drink or small gathering occasionally. I do have two outdoor guinea pigs, but they don't have to come with. I love animals and will adore any pets you have. Happy to live with a couple or family with children or in a share house.
I am an Orthoptist who just finished uni, planning to move to Hobart from Sydney for full time work. I will be relocating on the 10th August. Happy to stay at a place long term too. I'm an easy-going guy, who can cook and clean. I'm adventurous guy who enjoys the outdoors, seeing new places and 4WD/camping. I also love basketball and hiking I respect privacy but also enjoy company and down for a chat Happy to live 15min drive from the city as I would have a car and be required to drive to work
Hi, my name's Damien, I'm originally from Newcastle, NSW and I moved down to TAS for University at UTAS. Things have gone in ways other than expected and I've ended up not enjoying Uni as much as I thought, but also picking up an apprenticeship as a baker in a bakery in Glenorchy. Since I will not be continuing with University next year, I'll need to find a place to stay outside of University accommodation. I am a humble person who keeps all of my messes inside my own room and appreciates sleep. I'm looking for a place closer to my work in Glenorchy and within reasonable price range for one room. I do not need move out until November. I love any pets you may or may not have, and am happy to bring home some extra free bread for the household ; ) haha.
Hello, I've recently moved back down to Tasmania after a year in Victoria. I was studying cert 3 hairdressing and plan on finishing my course here in TasTafe. I have received my transfer papers and all that. I'm a quiet girl. But I'm friendly and respectful, I love animals, especially cats.
I have just moved to Hobart to start a new job at UTAS. I will be at work and travelling between Launceston and Hobart throughout the week most of the time and love to make the most of my weekends so I probably won't be home all that often to be honest haha. I have lived in share houses for many years now and understand the dynamics of how to make a place good! I appreciate a clean house and am more than happy to do my share of the housework, pay bills/rent on time and chip in for general house costs. I'm looking for a place with people who understand the balance between personal space for time when I have 'shit to get done' and also the ability to hang out and have fun when we all have some free time. I'm more than happy to cook a meal for housemates every now and then and won't get passive aggressive if you steal some of my milk or weetbix, just don't go touching my hummus! Being new to Tassie, I want to get out and explore as much as possible so would love to live with people who have similar interests (hiking, camping, fishing, surfing, exploring etc) but if you're not into that kind of stuff that's fine by me also. Final thing and not important at all, but I would love to live with a doggo or in a place that would consider pets so I could get my own doggo! (This is not a make or break requirement though)
Hi! I'm a really social, outgoing person who loves spending time with people and friends. I'm a huge gamer, I play very often and is a main lobby of mine. I like to hang out and talk with friends and get out as much as I can be motivated to do. I'm not the best cook, but I'm very excited to learn more recipes I can use.
I'm moving over to Hobart the second week of April, i currently live in Vic, I’m 22, don’t smoke, enjoy a drink now and then, love cooking and cleaning while being an easy going person. I enjoy getting out and about and meeting new people and exploring new places. I have full time work for when I arrive.
Hi guys, we are looking for a place to stay for 10 days while we wait for our place. We have already found a place but it becomes available on the 16th. Dates would be from the 6th to the 16th. About us, we are a chilean couple, both 27, we spent most of our day working, and just chill and watch movies on our free time. Undemanding guest. Non smokers, no pets. We have a car so parking is a must, dont mind walking a block or 2 if there is no off street parking right in front. For any further information, just message me Sebastian
This is a great opportunity to live close to services and the Hobart CBD at a reasonable rate. Carport and garage, outdoor entertaining area and patio with good sized backyard, reverse-cycle air conditioning/heating as well as a wood heater. Pets considered on application. Can support you with furnishings or BYO. Water usage to be included - Elec. & Internet split evenly among flatmates. Would prefer males but a friendly low-drama female would OK :) House Rules: Respect eachother - always Knock - always Clean up after yourself
