"The Hunky-Dory Residence" is open 24/7 365 days a year! ;) And why not staying longer than just a couple days? Our apartment is located right above the Fannie Bay Shops, so your way to the Supermarket would be just a 2 mins walk, the pizzeria is right underneath and the next bus station and ATM are just 1 min away. But the best thing ever: the ocean is close to touch and perfect for viewing the sunset or fishing. So much to do for free within walking distance like tennis, walking track around the beautiful East Point Area, a public swimming pool (newly upgraded), horse racing track at Fannie Bay Club and a lot more. The backside of our apartment includes 3 lovely bedrooms (each around 15squaremetres), a shared bathroom (the toilet is separated), a big shared commercial kitchen and a 360-terrace (smoking area) with a BBQ-grill and a wonderful oceanview. The bedrooms are air-conditioned and furnished if you want and we prefer someone who could stay for a short/longterm term, means from 2 weeks to a max of 12+ months, but we can talk about it. ;)
I'm a uni student who works at a betting company, I can be social and respect people's privacy. I grew up in Darwin most of my life and I like talking about sports. I'm also a bit of a movie buff and I like cooking.
I am a Physio, so you will never have to put up with an injury again. My little whippet,Harvey, and I are looking for a place to call home. I am not one to lock myself in my room all day.i enjoy a nice dinner, glass of wine/beer and watching my beloved AFL team, North Melbourne, play. Tidy and respectful
Hello! :) I've recently moved up from Sydney and looking for short-term furnished accom until I figure out where I'd like to plonk long term (and I'm happy to take tips!). I'd like to try a few different suburbs for 2-ish week periods while you may be looking for your perfect flatmate so I could fill in that gap for you too. I don't have any myself but am happy to live with pets provided they're well-trained. One thing I won't budge on is you must be a non-smoker(s), sorry I can't stand the smell. I don't have any furniture but do love reading though so need a place to put some books and also a pushie as that's currently my only mode of transport....speaking of, I need to be within a short (30min) ride to the airport as that is where I work but I don't particularly want to live right across the road. Ideally I'm looking for something with space and an outlook. It doesn't have to be a "view" as such but just open. A built-in is a must and the best air-conditioning available! :D So about me; I'm a considerate shiftworker, easy-going, open-minded, blunt, honest and active. I'm a keen traveller and I don't like to be at home much but when I am, it's my haven. I love company but also appreciate my own space so happy to hang out sometimes but also do our own thing. I'm a keen recycler, eat mostly veges but I love the smell of a barbie on any given day! I'm super clean, but my room is usually a mess however I ALWAYS maintain tidiness in the common areas and expect the same. I've lived with others on and off for over 20yrs (Sydney real estate!), my last flatmate for almost 7 of those. I love meeting new people and experiencing new things so if you have any advice on things to see, do, eat or experience for a newcomer to Darwin, throw me your suggestions! I am keen to get fitter (biking to work is helping!), love classic Aussie rock (Midnight Oil, Hunters, Hoodoos, Divinyls etc), drink a lot of tea, enjoy playing & watching sport and like to learn new things. Hopefully something there grabs you enough to think I'd be a good fit in your home or at least curious enough to contact for a cuppa & chat. I look forward to meeting you soon. Cheers, Jane. :)
I’ve just moved up from Melbourne and looking for somewhere short/long term, but ideally long term. Furnished/unfurnished. I keep pretty busy - swimming, cooking, camping, music. Looking for like-minded people who enjoy a casual drink and a laugh at times, but who also appreciate a clean and chilled house. I’ll be away for work a couple of weeknights most weeks. :)
Hey! I'm Maroussia and I am looking for a place to live in Darwin. I am a Perth-native and I am moving up to the NT for a job. I'm a speech pathologist and I will be working full time. I am a friendly and social person who loves to have a good laugh, but I also appreciate some down time as well. I'm a clean and tidy person who is respectful of other peoples' space and belongings.
I moved to Darwin 9 months ago from Melbourne. It was a total seachange. I worked as a graphic designer, a yoga teacher and function manager for a catering company. Now I'm up in Darwin working in aviation in a management role. I work long hours and am respectful and incredibly clean and tidy. I don't have much - I arrived with a suitcase and that's about all I have - everything else I own is in storage down south. I'm a great cook, a very good listener, smart and generous. Always on time with rent and bills and can supply references if needed. Ideally I need to be within 5km of the airport but am happy to travel further for the right place. Home is important to me and I like to live in a home, not just a house.
Recently relocated to the NT from for a 12 month contract with Darwin Hospital. Currently in Nhulunbuy, heading back to Darwin from April 24th, for at least 9 months. I’m easy going, sociable, active, enjoy cooking (food tastes better shared), and will rarely object to a beer/wine at the end of the day. I’m clean - although I've lived with guys the last few years so have learnt to tolerate some mess :) I’m also very content doing my own thing but would prefer slightly sociable flatmates being new to town. Would be more than happy house / pet minding - dogs are a big plus (I don’t have any of my own). I'm a country person, grew up on the Murray River and love being outside (however unfortunately chose the wrong career), looking forward to some camping / fishing adventures & exploring the NT. I work shift work but will sleep through anything. Non-smoker.
Hi :) I'm 26, working full time as a nurse at RDH. I've lived in Darwin since April last year and I'm looking for somewhere semi-long term, ideally 6 months to a year. I love cooking, baking and curling up with a good book - but I'm definitely not opposed to having a couple drinks with housemates. I'm relatively neat and tidy, a non-smoker and pretty easy to get on with. Look forward to hearing from you!
American backpacker looking for a room or a shared room for the Dry Season. I am working full time in cafes and restaurants. I am easy going. I enjoy reading, writing, photography, running, and cooking. In a roommate scenario, we can hang out a lot or we don't have to chill at all.
25 year old girl. I'm tidy, tend to keep to myself somewhat. I work in rehab in aged care, which is why I moving up to the NT. I have a cat who thinks she's a dog. I train muay thai and play roller derby. Easy to get along with. Sometimes I cook and when I do I always share.
Hi! I'm moving up to Darwin from Adelaide soon (I fly in on May-31) to start a job as a Government groundwater scientist. I'm a fairly typical late-20's guy - I enjoy all the usual things (the outdoors, travel, convos over drinks) plus less usual things like baseball, old books and old movies (B&W old). I've lived in Darwin before so I also have a pretty good existing friendship group up there. I'm looking to either move into an existing sharehouse or start one up. I've lived in sharehouses all over Australia so I know how to pull my weight and respect other's lives. A big part of my work is going to be doing fieldwork in the outback for periods of up to six weeks - so you'll have some extra space sometimes, too! Send me a message if you're keen or want to know anything else.
I have an awesome motorhome and I'm heading back to Darwin this dry season! This says alot. It says I'm well travelled, fun, independent, open-minded and have an awesome sense of humour. That said, I'm totally didactic because I'm also very responsible, mature, non-partyer (unless you count dancing around my bedroom haha), somewhat introverted and easy going. I'm into exploring (obviously), markets (attending as well as running stalls), photography, hiking, watching movies and chillaxing. I'm looking for a fully furnished room (with a desk would be a bonus) for myself and a place where Max the Motorhome can be plugged in occasionally (it has a trickle charger that sometimes needs minimal power). However, if the right place is unfurnished, I can furnish it. I prefer non-smoking homes with positive, easy going flatmates. Dogs, fish and birds are awesome but cats trigger my allergies. A pool or spa would be lovely, as would a location near a gym or outdoor park. A bath (a real sized one, not a tiny one for children and midgets) would be heaven with lots of greenery. Preferred location: within 30 mins drive of Darwin CBD. Date: at this stage, it will be around 3 June with lots of flexibility.
LARGE ROOM suitable for COUPLES or singles - available in a big old tropical elevated Fannie Bay share-house with huge yard, has aircon, an AMAZING swimming pool, a puppy and 4 laying chickens. It's a big house and we tend to live out on the deck and in the swimming pool. The house is close to the beach, East Point Reserve, Fannie Bay and Parap shops, bus stops, Parap Markets...
Live with some awesome travellers and australians at the same time who know how to make a share house a home. Swimming pool and pool table to keep entertainment at a high, as well as WiFi to get your netflix fix. Animal friendly, currently two dogs, two snakes (who do not roam around free!) And four ducks (who sometimes roam free). Right next to the beach and often we take the boat out for a sunset cruise with some beers. Always trying to enjoy our days off together but always considerate of those working. If you're not quite over the hostel buzz but need to live that much cheaper, just hit us up. People always stay longer then they plan here at bleeser street :)
