Our sharehouse is looking for a new member! We have a lovely townhouse in a great spot in Maryville right near the river. It's a modern two storey place with open plan living area to the ground floor and the bedrooms and bathrooms up on the top floor. One bedroom has an ensuite, and there's a toilet on the ground floor, so you only need to share the bathroom with one other housemate. We also have a courtyard out the back and a garage that's used for storage.

Hi I'm a 40 year old nurse and part time university lecturer. I've lived in a lot of share houses with plenty of diverse people and enjoy the social aspect of seeing housemates at the end of the day and occasionally having a meal together. I'm tidy and relaxed and have never found it too challenging to accommodate other people's needs in a share house. I don't spend much time in the kitchen and while I'm a social guy, I'm pretty quiet. I don't tend to watch much tv or listen to loud music. I am definitely into the craft beer scene and enjoy going out with friends regularly. I don't work any night shifts or weekends so keep pretty normal hours. The most important thing for me in a share house is the people. I'm looking for a house where there's a good, happy vibe, age and gender not important. I've worked everywhere from trades, to hospitality, healthcare and academia and get along with all types of people. I'd be psyched to come and meet your household and see if I'm a good fit.
I'm a 23 year old beauty therapist who is currently working full time in town and wanting to move around town area. I'm a clean and tidy person. I'm bubbly, fun and a positive person. Looking for a place that's got a good vibe. Also like to socialise with friends but not wanting a party house.

You'll be living with a bubbly, tidy woman who likes to socialize with housemates but is respectful of everyone's personal space and schedules. By day, i'm a full-time applied social science undergrad, mental health worker, and freelance writer; by night, i'm an amateur cook, music junkie, and undefeated Cards Against Humanity champion. I also love riding my bike and playing with my wee pup (though he's pretty old so he's tuckered out before too long). I'm financially responsible and generally quiet (i'm over huge wall-rattling parties). I have plenty of furnishings to set up a place if needed, but can put things in storage if we're doubling up so it's all fair and equal. At this point in life, i'm looking for a place that's friendly, safe, peaceful, and happy! (Note: Not on the market for a single room in student accommodation)
I'm a Dutch student landscape architecture and come to Australia for three months to work at Moir Landscape Architecture in Islington. Beyond the fact that I am really looking forward to work in Australia, I hope that I'm going to have a great time next to my working hours and that includes my future accommodation and flatmates. I'm a pleasant and tidy flatmate, a company man, and I am always up for a party, but I am also someone that respects my own and other's privacy. I am very creative and also love sports very much, like fitness, running, swimming, soccer, you name it. Furthermore, I will probably be traveling up the East Coast with a good friend of mine during the Christmas break. I am nice, kind, clean & tidy, independent, down to earth, active & creative.
Hello, I am a 23 year old female who has recently moved back to the Newcastle area after completing a degree at Southern Cross Uni in northern NSW. I have rented independently for the last 4 years and have good rental history. I am reliable, responsible and respectful of others in the house :) I am clean and tidy and would like to live with people who are also tidy. As a person I have a bubbly character and can mix with a vast range of people, I'm social and also enjoy my down time. :)
I am an English student studying Nutrition at the University of Newcastle. I am a very easy going and social person. I enjoy a night out and like to play sports/ go to the gym. I am a tidy person and also respect other peoples personal space.
LOCATION Property is within 5 mins walk of Beaumont street. A short walk to all/most main bus and train routes in Newcastle i.e. Hamilton station and bus routes within 5 mins: 100, 111, 140, Nelson Bay, airport, within 20-25 mins: 222, 231, 334, 226, 317, 350, 230, 322, 363, 235. The location is just far enough of the main strip to be in a surprisingly quiet location with welcoming neighbours and neighbourhood cats! There are front and backyards that are going through a process of being brought back to life and at least 2 of these garden beds you could take for yourself if you have a green thumb! COST $170 including internet, budget for splitting other bills for about $80 a month (water and power, works out to be about $190 a week including those bills going off past usage). FURNISHINGS Most of the house is already furnished besides the second room. Although there is a spare mattress and drawers that can be rearranged if needed. Additionally, there is quite a large back shed for storing things (car sized). There is also a back area with a table that is good for chilling at if you want to be outside but out of the sun. There is very little to none of your own home goods that you need to bring with you as I have just about everything... THE ROOM Is about 2.5m x3.5m with one inbuild cupboard (small) about 2m tall and 50cm wide. Has one large window on the side of the house. RULES 'Common sense' rules apply to the household that I'll spell out below as past experiences with housemates have shown this to be necessary: - Cleaning is a household effort and participation is mandatory and shouldn't require constant prompting every single time. ie take bins out when needed (recycle!), rubbish goes in the bin, do your washing up in a timely manner, tidy up the kitchen/bathroom/your room as necessary, maybe a clean the whole house together day, etc - Garden duties are split. That said if you don't garden then I'll take the garden beds etc and you can do the grass/leaves (with help in autumn with the leaves). If you do garden then a couple beds are yours and we split the duties as needed :) - Food/Drink/Condiments/Cleaning products (non-communal ie toothpaste, shampoo, etc): if you did not buy it, it is not yours to use/eat/drink. [ I am still open to shared cooking and shopping for particular meals because cooking with people is fun ]. - Respect: Each other and each other's things!
Carrington is wonderful place to live and my house is a cosy cottage. I am 5 minutes from the river where there are plenty of water activities and beautiful walking tracks. I'm 10-15 minutes from Honeysuckle. Happy to share with 1 other who is a respectful and considerate housemate. I have a very quiet and private life and would prefer someone who is the same. The available room has a small 'sunroom' so this may be a study nook or room for a small tv area?
My name is Tinkerbelle (yes really!) but my friends call me Tink for short, i grew up in belmont and have always been around the newcastle area. I am a very easy going person, always open to making new friends! i find it easy to get along with people as i have many interests that range from sporting and outdoor activities to beauty and makeup and always find someone who likes something similar. In my spare time i like to read and listen to music then on my days that i'm really feeling alive i'll go on random trips with friends down to Sydney/Nelsons Bay and go shopping, visit attractions, go hiking etc. As well as being fun and out going i am also respectful and polite, i can cook and find myself to be quite tidy. I am currently studying Outdoor Recreational Activities at tafe so i'll be out 4/7 days a week and with the other 3 days i'll most likely be studying. I also understand completely that i'm very young and most of you want to share accommodation with someone older and more 'mature' but i can assure you just from meeting me once that you'll see i have my head screwed on more then most teenagers these days, i'm over the 'partying and drugs' stage, i want to do and be better. I've seen friends go down paths i'd rather not follow hence why i'm trying so hard in life now. My aim is to succeed but in order to do so i need to get out of this refuge and be in a better environment. Sorry about the documentary but a little honesty goes a long way.
