Hello! I'm a 28 year old male public servant looking for a room long-term in the Inner North. Looking to share with public servants/professionals/postgrads. I'm a friendly, easy-going sort of person who has lived in a couple of different share houses and knows the importance of keeping common areas clean and respecting other people's space. I'm fairly busy and am out and about a fair bit. But I definitely think it's important to get to know the people I'm sharing my home with and I'd be keen to live with people who like to hang out for a meal or a drink sometimes. Looking forward to hearing from you! Lawrence
Moving to Canberra from Victoria to work full time. Looking for a place to share. Anything that is reasonably priced and close to Watson where I will be working would be great. I'm clean, cool, fun and hoping to hear from someone soon. I will need a place from January 7. I am particularly interested in teaming up with 1 (maybe 2 max) other person (s) to find a place to share together. Chuck us a message!
Hi everyone, My name is Paige (23), From the end of January 2017 I will have 2 rooms available in a private rental (no real estate agent just amazing landlords) in my 3 bedroom house for 12 months. I have lived in Hackett for 3 years and this beautiful light cottage-like house for 2. This is my home and want any future housemates to view it the same. Only 10 minutes drive from the city, 12 minutes (I've timed it) to UC and 13 minutes to ANU. 1 room is a single room for $135 per week. (Can still fit a double or queen bed with a wardrobe or single bed with desk and wardrobe) The second is a double/queen room for $150 per week (double or queen with a wardrobe and desk or dresser) Beautiful cottage like back yard which is mown by gardener's each month. 2 minutes walk from the local IGA, pub and Thai restaurant in a quiet leafy suburb. Solar hot water (so electric bills are pretty damn cheap) Reverse cycle air-conditioning/heating in the living areas. Dishwashe,r fridge and dryer plus basic furnishings included. Plates, cups, cutlery and all the odds and ends covered (just need a TV and washing machine but happy to split the costs for these). Incredibly friendly neighbours. 50M from a large sports oval and only 5 minutes drive to Dickson shops, 5 minute walk to the beautiful Mt Majura nature reserve. Driveway and parking out front easily fitting 1 car per person. Hardwood floors and patio out the back give this house a truly comforting vibe. I am looking for long term housemates to share my amazing home with. I have welcome any gender or sexual orientation, and smoking is permitted outdoors only. I currently have an old, gentle cat, so there is cat fur about, which I will try to keep under control. She is strictly indoors only so there is a closed door rule. (If you don't want the cat in your room, close the door, and be careful coming in and out from outside) I am looking for clean individuals who will pay all rent and bills on time without fail; and I promise you the same in return. Internet is cable to the home (super speedy) at $35 per person and Netflix included. You need to be willing to participate ihousehold chores such as sweeping, emptying dishwasher etc etc and occasionally helping with a bigger clean (helping with the small garden, clean bathroom etc) I am happy with a cleaning roster as that way no one feels they are not doing enough or too much. There is a large lockable shed which you are welcome to use to store whatever you need, or if you have exercise gear you can set it up in there. You must be open minded and non critical of others. Preferrably someone who enjoys a shared dinner or drink and having a chat however I appreciate the introverts among us and quiet types are just as welcome. I myself study full time in the fields of education, literature and sociology. I am not a party hardy kind of girl but I love my wine, going to the pub for pool and a good chat. I work in the renewable energy sector as my primary job and have a passion for art, literature and music. Very open about myself and enjoy the company of others while being tidy, financially organised and love creating weird cocktails just for the fun of it. I will be looking to have inspections in the weeks following Christmas but please let me know if you are interested and we may be able to set something up a little earlier around work etc. Looking forward to hearing from you, if you have any questions just let me know!
Generally friendly, easy going, like a chat, equally happy to do my own thing. I've been share housing all my life. I'm a bit of a project girl. Every now and then I get a bee in my bonnet and write a script for a short-film or have a down-home community art-photography exhibition or something. I was once an opera singer, but now I mostly just hum quietly in the shower. I love walking on Mt Majura (the moss was amazing this winter!). I'm looking for one or more mature flatmates, and I'm pretty partial to houses with big north facing windows.
I am moving to Canberra in late January/early February from Melbourne to commence an APS graduate program on the 6th February. I am looking to move into a share house with other people in their mid 20s. As I am new to Canberra it would be great to live with people I get on with socially as well and don't just keep to themselves. It would be bonus if the people I live with enjoy/tolerate my dad jokes and dry sense of humour. I would like a house that is kept clean in common areas, but I would say I am fairly easy going and I'm not going to yell at you if you haven't got around to doing the dishes yet (as long as you are going do them eventually) or your room isn't spotless. I certainly do not mind a party (preferably at someone else's house) or just a casual sunday drink, but it's sometimes also great to spend a Saturday night chilling on the couch and watching a movie. I would love to cook and share a meal with my housemates once in a while as well. I don't really have many hobbies, I love true crime podcasts and watching tv shows, going for walks and going to the gym. I've been studying for 5 years so maybe I will find some new hobbies now I am free haha. I would like to live in the inner/suburban north but I am open to other areas as long as it isn't too far by bus/car to work in the (north side) city centre. I am hoping to pay $200 a week (or less), but again I am open to up to $250 if the place and people are right. I would also prefer to live in a house/townhouse as opposed to an apartment, as I'd prefer having an outdoor area (even if it is small). Please feel free to message me to ask me anything :)
Relaxed 22 year old male with a naturally happy disposition seeking place to stay while studying primary school teaching for 4-5 years Into video games, movies and gym, always up for a chat or an impromptu adventure, ideally looking for a place I can feel at home and enjoy the company of the people I am staying with, love standing around having a good yarn about nothing and everything - I don't smoke and I drink occasionally I enjoy boxing for fitness/fun, am a mediocre table tennis and billiards player but make up for lack of skill with enthusiasm as I do with all aspects of life Am an experienced cook and live a clean minimalist lifestyle I have my own car and don't mind driving for a late night kebab run love animals so any home with pets would be well received!
I'm a Graphic Designer originally from rural NSW, now working NewActon with a full time position, I am able to start renting. Ideally looking for somewhere in Inner South or Inner North to be able to ride or walk to work and not have to rely on paid parking, and the juggles of my car each day. Down for socialising and meeting new people, casual drinks etc, but can easily keep to myself with extra design work at home (only if i can fit a desk in my room) or at the office. I'm also trying to get a bit more cooking in for the weekly grind to save costs.

I'm 34, work full-time in medical admin; and I'll be commencing part-time study next year. I'm a friendly person and happy to have a chat but I'm quiet most of the time and appreciate my space. I'm more than happy to pull my weight and do housework. I'm respectful of others and their property. In my spare time I enjoy watching movies, reading books and going for walks/bike rides. I'm reliable, clean and tidy and a non-smoker.
I'm Greg 25 yo male, student and business owner, looking for a stable place to rent in Canberra. I enjoy having conversation with housemates and sometimes a drink or two. Clean and respectful, away and busy throughout days.
Alicia: I am relaxed but do love to chat after a day's work, I am a housemate who is friendly and easygoing at the same time. I will respect your privacy but hope to be on friendly terms with my housemates. I am enthusiastic about good coffee, bike riding, seeing live music and reading. I also have a partner, Tom, who will be visiting for a bit and then living with me after I move to Canberra. He also loves coffee and bike riding and can play the guitar quite well. Tom loves any beer that is brown/strong and purchasing LPs for his record player. He is a vegetarian, but i'm not and will eat almost anything. We will both be full-time professionals who want to make the most of our time in Canberra with weekend trips and socialising. Both of us have been living with 3 other flatmates in Melbourne, with a cleaning roster that we stick to.
About the room: Sunny and quiet, you can see the backyard through the window. It can come either furnished (minus the mattress), or unfurnished. We have a wrought iron double bed frame, a big wooden chest of drawers, and an antique wooden desk and chair we can offer. About the house: It is a cosy and sunny house, with off-street parking, three bedrooms, a bathroom (both a bath and a shower), separate toilet, reverse cycle air-con, dishwasher, and bathroom heat lamps. There is also a big backyard with lots of fruit trees, a big organic veggie garden, a garage and bike shed, as well as a front garden. About the area: Mount Ainslie is behind our house and you can walk up it via a ridge that also runs along behind the house, with lots of pretty birds and kangaroos. We are in between Dickson and Ainslie shops (a 5 min ride either direction or you can take the bus), and there's a bus that goes to the city/ANU directly opposite our house. Otherwise, the bike path is just a few metres from our house, is a pretty ride through the wetlands and take about 10-15 minutes to get to Civic. The suburb has nice wide streets and is a relaxing haven from the city, while also feeling very close to all the 'action' (:
This little house situated right in the heart of Ainslie is the perfect share house. Multiple bus stops are located within a minutes walk of the house, with Ainslie and Dickson shopping precincts being located a short 7 and 15 minute walk away respectively. The kitchen is modern, having been renovated recently, and the house has both air conditioning and gas heating, and comes fully furnished, with the exception of the two available bedrooms. Unlimited internet and the water bill are both included in the rent, and electricity and gas bills are split evenly three ways.
A little lowdown about me! I'm 26, easy going, friendly and a bit funny. Originally from Newcastle, England, I've been living in Australia since 2014. I've travelled the East Coast and lived in the outback for 16 months, but planted my roots in Canberra since February where I've been lucky enough to be sponsored as a permanent resident. For work, I spend my days entertaining the youth of today in early childhood education. Socialising and road trips are two things that make me very happy. My friendship circle here is so diverse but it's great and we're always keen to expand! I do enjoy a cup of tea in the mornings so as long as we have a kettle I'll be happy. I'm a pretty clean person and I would expect whoever I'm living with to have the same respect in regards to keeping a place tidy. I think communication plays a huge role in a house share, I feel that by living in a shared house you need to be open and honest about any issues that may arise to make living a happy life even easier :) I'm a socialiable and pretty happy person so I would love to live with someone who isn't just hiding in their room all the time. However, I won't be clawing your door down for company as I still enjoy to just chill on my own sometimes, too. I'm pretty laid back, but as I work in childcare I have 0 tolerance towards hard drugs being used in the house or around me. However, if it's the weekend I'm always keen for a little drink or two. If you think you've got the perfect place just send me a quick little message and we can get something arranged! I have all my own furniture, too, so pretty much happy to move in hopefully within a week or two of viewing and agreeing upon the place :)
I'm a first year ANU student who is looking for a new place to stay. I'm respectful and will always keep common areas clean. I love to watch movies and tv shows but am also a lover of books. I take my studies pretty seriously so when I have assignments I will pretty much be locked up in my room procrastinating. However, other than that I am quite sociable and enjoy a good chat with my roommates. I'm a pretty chill person and not much really gets to me that easily. Did I mention my love of animals? I seriously love animals. I had two dogs, a cat, a couple turtles, a hamster... In other words, I have no problems with pets. Also, I grew up in a bunch of different places (Malaysia and Japan just to name a couple) so I'm also really into traveling and learning about new cultures. Actually I myself am half Japanese and Australian so culture is one of my "things" I guess. If you're a friendly, inviting person who is open to living with a laid back person like me, please don't hesitate to contact me because I think we'd make perfect housemates!
Hey! I'm Soraya - I am looking for an fun share house to move in to at the start of 2017, pretty flexible on time really. I am a social worker. I love to socialise, relax and have a few cheeky drinks. I would like a house where housemates spend time together as well as respecting each others space. I think I am easy to live with because I am quite laid back and easy to get along with! I am clean (but not crazy about it). I have a 3 year old english staffy named Dudley. He is very well trained and loves humans! We are a package deal, so housemates will need to be dog people.
I'm an easy going person - I work part time at Canberra Zoo and also study at ANU where I'm finishing my third year. I have spent six years living overseas so I'm quite flexible and interested in other people. I'm not a wild party animal but I do enjoy the company of other people. I have a friend that I went to school with in Singapore who is hoping to relocate to Canberra and join a share house with me as his family are moving to the Philippines. So it would be great if the house had 2 rooms to rent. That would be the ideal situation.
I have studied in quite a few places, including Hong Kong, Australia and the United States; such experiences have made me cosmopolitan. I am also a tiny person and willing to help out whenever I can :-) Looking forward to sharing a house with others and creating a happy living environment together!
Full time worker, wanna-be triathlete and generally sociable human. Moved here from Brisbane in 2016 and still enjoying seeing the sights. Looking to live with 1-2 others, commencing in January 2017.
Hi guys, My Name is Leah i am a 27yr old Chef. I have been a chef for the past 11 years and still enjoy cooking at home. I currently live in Sydney but am looking to move down to Canberra in the new year. I will be coming along with my fur baby also known as Zeus. He is 2 years old and an adorable (Large) labrador x mastiff. I am very outgoing and love going out for random activities but also love plonking in front of the tv after work and watching netflix for a good few hours. I play a lot of sport so will be finding a Soccer team and also AFL team once i get to Canberra. I enjoy hanging out with mates and going for beers. I am a clean person and am prepared to help out where/when needed. I am after some like minded people who are down to earth and keen for a beer every now and then. If there is anything else you would like to know about me please feel free to contact me with any questions. Look forward to hearing from you. Cheers Leah
One large, unfurnished room is available in a quiet, leafy suburb in the inner north. The room is the original master bedroom, with a double wardrobe and large window onlooking the side garden. The house is located close to public transport, rec facilities, shops, and the Dickson restaurant precinct. We have fast VDSL, air con in the living room, and central heating for winter. We have a nice porch for long summer nights or warm winter afternoons, with plenty of space for growing a veggie patch or a field of flowers. We're looking for someone who can pitch in around the house and contribute to a diverse and interesting house. Bills and chores are split evenly; the bathroom is shared between three while the rest of the house between four.
Hi, I'm a postgraduate student looking to share a place with sociable people (no worries, I also have great respect for private space). I prefer gathering and hanging out with friends for a round of drink every now and then over wild party nights. A casual chat at home while sharing a drink will also do the trick--add some video games and sports in the mix too! Cheers!
Hey all, I am a pretty going person. Not overly fussed about the noise. I do my fare share of the cleaning and maintenance in the house. Moved to Canberra to study at the ANU. I am working part-time at the ANU as well. Originally an expat kid, grew up in Japan and lived all over Asia/Australia. Currently learning Arabic, but can speak few other languages as well. I love the outdoors, and I go hiking almost every second weekend. I don't mind pets, so that's a non-issue for me. Send me a message if you have place. Cheers
Hi, i am easy going, respectful of personal space and not afraid pf domestic work. i have been living in share houses for a long time now so can get along easily with new people. I'm full time employed and have never had trouble paying rent or bills.
I'm a student about to start my first year of a PhD at the ANU, studying diseases of plants. Overall, I'd consider myself a reasonable, easy going person. I'm also clean but not obsessive about it. Ideally, I'm looking for a place where I can be friends with the people I'm living with though I'm also happy living with people that like to keep to themselves. I'm a bit of a workaholic so I may be a bit hard to come by during the week but I'm always willing to hang out on the weekends.
Hey guys, I'm a recent graduate from the ANU and I work full-time in hospitality. I currently live in a share house with a few friends in Ainslie, and I really enjoy share house living. I love to have meals and hangout with my housemates but I also respect personal space and understand that everyone needs some quiet time to themselves. I love to cook and bake, read, drink wine and hold social gatherings. I'm a generally bubbly and upbeat person who gets along easily with others, and I also love to have a jam in the sun on a sunny afternoon with a couple of bevs! I'm fairly social and pretty relaxed to live with and would love to find some likeminded housemates to live with. Although I am a non-smoker, I don't mind living with smokers as most of my friends are smokers!
I am friendly, neat and quiet mature age student (part time) looking for reasonably priced share house arrangement for 2017. After many years in Sydney and overseas I am returning to Canberra to be closer to my family, start a new job (4 days a week) in January and continue my studies. I am not much of socialiser but I am reliable when it comes to paying rent (and other household costs) and helping out with the maintenance of house. I prefer living in long-term sharing set-ups and I have been living with my current flatmates for the last 3 years and we have all been on good terms. I am sad to leave Sydney but I am hopeful and thinking positively about new prospects in the ACT.
We both love reading, animals, basketball, swimming, the odd social drink, movie nights and baking. Looking for easy going people to live with. Will be studying and working part time. $150 each or a little bit more providing utilities are included.
The room: has a built in wardrobe and is medium to large sized. There is certainly more than enough room to fit a double or queen bed and a dresser/shelves and a desk. The house: a charming, light-filled house in north Ainslie, with wooden floorboards, yellow walls and a dungeon (!) 4 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with separate toilet. It’s a bit of an older style house, but we keep it clean pretty easily and have a cleaning roster. The backyard is huge, with a gate that opens out onto the Ainslie reserve. If you have a car, parking is available on the street. Bus routes are nearby and it’s only a quick cycle to the city (10 minutes). It’s about a three minute walk to our local, Ainslie shops. Financial stuff: rent and bills are split equally between the house members. We pay gas, electricity, water and internet. Bills are generally cheap even with ducted heating. Note: absolutely no pets, couples or children. Room available: ideally early December, but dates flexible. Rent: $125 per week (so cheap!), paid monthly ($500) + bills. We are looking to interview now as we are keen to get someone in ASAP who will be a good fit.

Clean paint, lighting & carpet: through out. Stylishly furnished. One street from Dickson major shopping district, buses, facilities at your backyard. Stroll to Dickson Pool or little China Town. Well established home set back in private tree lined street. Ample parking and garage facilities. You just need bring yourself, students welcome.
Looking to see what currently available and if there are some people out there roughly around my age looking for a room mate! Okay to move out at any time, just trying to find the right people to live with. Prefer to have the master bedroom with ensuite if possible as I don't particularly like sharing bathrooms which comes from previous times with room mates being grubs (the worst!) Not looking to live too far away from the city or Belconnen and not looking to live on the Southside either, inner south is okay but nothing further (sorry peeps) I work full time as a PA and enjoy sports, online gaming, music, gigs, hanging out at home and good food and drink! I am in a relationship and would like to live together but I know not all places have space for couples but keen to see what's available if not that's totally cool! Please feel free to message me if I suit what you are looking for in a flat mate :)
I am in my final year at ANU, and my friend and I are looking to find a place to live. We are looking for a three bedroom place that is close to ANU but also to Dickson and would love to either find someone with 2 spare rooms or find a roommate to join us in a new house. We are both friendly, clean people who enjoy a chat over wine or a movie but also respect everyones space and need for time alone. Ideally we would like to move in in late November. If you are interested in joining us send me a message
I am a current honours student at the ANU. I am looking to join an existing sharehouse or team up and start a new one. I play and or watch just about every sport, and love both relaxing at home, having a quiet night in with beer pizza and banter, And having nights out partying. I am always up for a chat or a few laughs and am almost always happy to cook. During the summer I am often travelling or skiing overseas but otherwise I'm home most of the time. You should message me if you are looking for a fun , friendly , tidy, and organised housemate.
I am an easygoing person, very clean and pretty thoughtful. I will go out of my way to ensure I do not create mess or fuss in the house and I will be studying and working at the same time so will not likely get in peoples way. Looking forward to living with people that are also easygoing and fun loving.
I'm Katie! I'm moving to Canberra for postgrad study after a very exciting gap year abroad. I'm looking forward to starting a new life in Canberra and meeting lots of new people. I did my whole undergrad in Brisbane and I'm ready for a change! Ideally my housemates would be interesting, friendly, open and sociable. Of course I value clenliness and respect too but that sort of goes without saying :D I like to have a good relationship with my housemates and would much prefer open doors and friendship to quiet, formal interactions. Please let me know if you have any rooms available :D
I'm a bubbly and friendly person who is easy to get along with. I keep to myself usually and work Monday to Friday as well as spending time with my friends so, I don't spend a huge amount of time at home. If we make friends though, I would be happy to cook dinner for everyone occasionally and have a drink or two together. I'm clean, tidy and respectful. I'm well organised and am able to work in with the needs of others (eg. Bathroom schedules etc, if required). I'm moving into a share house to save myself some money, as I have been living by myself for a while now. I aim to save and travel or buy my own place. Please note - although I am a smoker, it's generally a social occurrence. Im respectful of others wishes, I don't smoke inside and will only smoke outside the house on occasion if it is okay with others. If not, I can easily go without. It isn't a deal breaker for me.
