I'm a 24 year old male International student, enrolled at ANU for masters. I am looking for a new place to live in North Canberra. I am quite chilled out and easy going, i like to go out on the weekends, would not mind a glass of wine and beer with my house mates, i follow sports, music, gaming, i love pets as well though i do not have one here. I like cooking also, a vegetarian so would prefer vegan/vegetarian housemates so we can share some good meals! :)
Hello! I'm moving to Canberra from Brisbane for 3 months for work. I just finished uni, studying economics. As a housemate, I like to socialise with the occasional wine, but definitely am not a party gal. I don't smoke or have any pets, but I do have a boyfriend who would visit occasionally (he lives in Brisbane, so not that often). I enjoy keeping a clean home so if you do too that would be perfect. As i'm only coming down for a little while i really need the room to be furnished, with a bed at least. Let's chat!
Hi there, My name is Clare, and I'm looking to start a share house or join an existing one with at least one other female in a peaceful home, ideally in the inner north suburbs of Canberra. I'm keen for a sense of community at home, so prefer to live with people who are happy to share a meal or cup of tea from time to time, but am also aware of respecting people's need for space/ down time. I work full time in the government in a social justice role, and in my spare time catch up with friends, see bands, listen to music, exercise. I am good with paying bills on time and pitching in for chores. I like watching SBS/ABC occasionally ... Looking for 6 -12 month lease. If this sounds of interest, please drop me a line with a little about yourself. Thankyou!
I'm a 31 year old ex-public servant, currently looking for casual employment whilst I wait to commence study next year (Psychology). I am a single mum, however, my 2 year old daughter, Arabella, currently resides with my parents in Kambah. Although there is no formal care/visitation arrangements in place with my folks, it is expected that I go to Kambah to fulfill my visitation requirements, and it would be only on a very rare occasion that I would have to care for Arabella at my own abode. Other than that, I like to get out to see friends as much as possible, get out to gigs when I can, go out for dinner etc, but I also love just vegging at home and watching movies/TV series/Netflix, doing my crosswords, reading, listening to music etc. I am also a bit of an amateur musician - I sing and play a little acoustic guitar. This is a hobby I really want to get back into after years of being a bit lazy about the whole thing. NB: Please note that although I am a smoker, I am strictly an outdoor smoker.
Alicia: I am relaxed but do love to chat after a day's work, I am a housemate who is friendly and easygoing at the same time. I will respect your privacy but hope to be on friendly terms with my housemates. I am enthusiastic about good coffee, bike riding, seeing live music and reading. I also have a partner, Tom, who will be visiting for a bit and then living with me after I move to Canberra. He also loves coffee and bike riding and can play the guitar quite well. Tom loves any beer that is brown/strong and purchasing LPs for his record player. He is a vegetarian, but i'm not and will eat almost anything. We will both be full-time professionals who want to make the most of our time in Canberra with weekend trips and socialising. Both of us have been living with 3 other flatmates in Melbourne, with a cleaning roster that we stick to.
I am an easy going guy. I enjoy hanging out with friends but respect the privacy of others. I am quiet and tidy guy.I'll be working and studying a lot of the time. So I would be out of the house a lot. I like to stay fit and healthy including eatting healthy and exercising. I'm hoping to become a personal trainer and work in security.
I am friendly ,reliable , and musical. I am a Canberra local and looking to move from my current place as my landlords have had a change in family circumstance. I enjoy cooking, listening to music and play in an orchestra weekly.
Hi, we're searching for a roommate in our new sharehouse in Watson. It's Super close to everything and only 10 minutes from the city. It has bus connections. The house is really cute and old. It has a seperate toilet/shower/ bath. The room comes unfurnished and is a decent size. It has a really nice view over the backyard. There is room in the house for any furniture you would like to bring and a lot of storage space :) The house also has two friendly dogs and a beautiful garden!
We are looking for a happy, friendly housemate to share our home. About the room: Sunny, north facing room with a huge built-in wardrobe. It can come either furnished (minus the mattress), or unfurnished. We have a wrought iron queen bed frame, a big wooden chest of drawers, and an antique wooden desk and chair we can offer. About the house: It is a cosy and sunny house, with off-street parking, three bedrooms, a bathroom (both a bath and a shower), separate toilet, reverse cycle air-con, dishwasher, and bathroom heat lamps. There is also a big backyard with lots of fruit trees, a big organic veggie garden, a garage and bike shed, as well as a front garden. About the area: Mount Ainslie is behind our house and you can walk up it via a ridge that also runs along behind the house, with lots of pretty birds and kangaroos. We are in between Dickson and Ainslie shops (a 5 min ride either direction or you can take the bus), and there’s a bus that goes to the city/ANU directly opposite our house. Otherwise, the bike path is just a few metres from our house, is a pretty ride through the wetlands and take about 10-15 minutes to get to Civic. The suburb has nice wide streets and is a relaxing haven from the city, while also feeling very close to all the ‘action’ (:
Beautiful light filled room available in sharehouse in Ainslie. The house is two storey, really big open plan downstairs area with modern kitchen, floorboards and excellent heating! The house faces a lovely park and is a 2 min walk from Mt Ainslie. We are also a 5 minute drive or a 10 minute bike ride from the best IGA in Australia, Ainslie IGA. (PICTURE OF THE ROOM COMING ASAP!)
Private room available in Downer. We have a fireplace, central heating and the entire home is furnished. Two puppies also live on the property- everyone loves them! I am 25, work full time and study and am rarely home. All bills are split evenly as they arrive and rent is paid monthly
The house is a spacious 3 bedroom specimen in quiet streets of Downer. There is: • A well sized (and fully furnished) living room/dining area • A carpeted sunroom which is great for enjoying the summer warmth while not burning • New bathroom and separate toilet • Easily maintained backyard, with sufficient space for lazing in the sun • Single garage (currently occupied by a car) but with space for bikes etc • A small but nice deck with covered BBQ There is also no risk of too many chefs spoiling the broth as the kitchen isn’t huge (but is perfectly functional for a house of three). Location wise, the house is: • Approximately 100m from a bus stop with direct route to the city (takes about 15 minutes) • 45 minute walk or 15 minute ride to the city (it is about 4.5km away) • Walking distance to Watson shops (1km) or Dickson shops (2km) • No known swooping magpies in the area (but check out www.magpiealert.com if you are skeptical)
I'm Will, I'm a student who is living in Canberra while studying. I'm a chill guy who loves just hanging out with people I'm comfortable with and shooting the shit. I've been living in an Ainslie sharehouse since January but I want to explore greater Canberra. I'm into archery and art. Also happy to cook meals for people if required (not all the time though)
Im 23yrs and originally from Sydney. Recently graduated from uni and fortunately secured a 1 year grad program in Canberra. I enjoy cooking and baking, plus Netflix and chill. My grad program starts at the end of October, so Im looking for a room that would be available than.
My name is Ahmed, I'm 31 years old man. I work as an assistant lecturer at my home University in Egypt. In the same time I'm an international PhD student at ANU, I study molecular biology at JCSMR, this is the first semester for me at ANU and I have to start as soon as possible. I will come to Australia on Saturday 8th Oct. and I'm in a bad need for accommodation. I'm very quiet, clean, non smoking and tidy person. I'd be very pleased if you agree to rent me your room for 2 months starting as soon as possible. If you agree, I can ask a friend of mine to meet you and see the room (if mandatory) or we can have a skype meeting
I am from India, and will join ANU from 1st October. I am fun loving, clean, and quite person. I like privacy but sometimes enjoy partying with friends.
I'm a young, friendly and tidy professional who works full time, exercises regularly and has a steady social life. Pretty standard. Ideally, I'm looking to share with 1 or 2 others who are similar.
Hi I'm Nat I'm a law student from Brisbane but am graduating and moving to Canberra on Oct 25 for an Internship .I've stayed in Share Houses before and I really like it and enjoy being in other people's company. I'm easy to get a long with and clean up after myself . My internship is full time so I won't be around all that much but when I am more than happy to hang out. I don't know anyone in Canberra so living with some nice, fun people will be a bonus :)
Hi, I am a very considerate, reliable and friendly flatmate. I lead a very busy life between working and studying. Looking for my own space (either independent or in a share situation), with respectful, neat and pleasant people. I am looking for a very large room with ensuite or a granny flat type situation. Looking for long term stay, 6months minimum.
I am 20yrs old and am a full time public servant for Defence. I am originally from Brisbane but moved down to Canberra for work 3yrs ago. I have been living with my sister for the past 3 yrs but now would like to move out into a share house. I love all sports especially rugby, touch footy and cricket. I am a very relaxed guy and very easy to get along with. Looking for a place to move into early November.
I'm a 26 year old working full time Monday-Friday looking for a new place to live in the ACT. I'm friendly and love to have a chat with housemates over drinks/dinner or even going out for social activities but at the same time I respect that everyone needs their space and privacy. I keep things clean and tidy (without being too over the top) and all rent and bills paid on time. I like to keep a relaxed and happy vibe at home - I have no problem at all with visitors but prefer to not be in a 'party' house. After work during the week I like to just chill out with dinner, a glass of wine and some music - I'm not much of a TV watcher myself but it doesn't bother me if others are. Sometimes I will watch a series or movie on Netflix instead :-P I enjoy cooking at home and also going out somewhere for a good feed. I have no pets of my own but I am more than happy to live in a place with pets. I've lived in a few sharehouses previously, I'm happy to share chores/housework and I'm pretty conscious of keeping things easy and enjoyable for everyone :) If you think I might be a good fit for your home or even have any questions, please get in touch :)
As a tidy tech head all I need is a warm spot for a bed and a desk, a fairly quiet house after 11 and a patch of driveway to work on my truck. By trade I am a designer, but I love illustration, sculpting and woodwork. I am from Melbourne originally, I am currently running out a Government contract until I head to the US around May. I get along well with people, love the occasional adult beverage and a bit of a coffee nut. I love to cook, but hate piles of dishes in the sink. Love cats and doges - though my allergies say otherwise, I just deal with it. I love the outdoors so I will be out most weekends over the warmer months, either camping in the ranges or hiking some of the valleys of SE Namadgi.
I am an ANU student that's lived in sharehouses for the past 2 years. I mainly keep to myself but I am always up for a chat. I am into health and fitness and I am not really into parties but don't mind the occasional drink
WHO: I’m planning to move from Melbourne to Canberra soon - I have my eyes on ANU in 2018 so I want to spend the next year working and getting myself set up in Canberra. I’m quiet, independent and prefer to keep to myself. I’m not unfriendly and am happy to chat now and then but I am definitely not a party person. I’m clean, tidy and organised – when you see me around the house it will most likely be when I’m cleaning or in the kitchen preparing my meals for the week. I’m (mostly) vegan, don’t drink or smoke, and I am queer-friendly and pet-friendly. WHAT: I’m looking for a tidy sharehouse that I can come home to after work and on weekends knowing I can relax in peace and quiet. Ideal housemates will be tidy, responsible, and considerate of others. I don’t mind if you drink/smoke/eat meat as long as there’s no smoking indoors or drunkenness, and you don’t hang **** on me about my choices! I am looking for an unfurnished room that can fit a single bed, large chest of drawers, bookcase and desk. I will also need somewhere to park my car and some space in a kitchen cupboard for the bit of kitchenware I have. Internet access is also desirable. I’m hoping not to spend more than $200pw (plus bills) but would consider paying more for the right place. I’m hoping to stay long-term, but will also consider short-term opportunities. WHERE: As a newbie to Canberra I have no preference for area, so don’t be put off if your suburb is not in my list. My priority is finding the right place with affordable rent. WHEN: I can be flexible – hoping for mid- November but it will depend on what happens with work in Melbourne and, of course, when the right place is available. I would consider paying rent earlier than my actual move to secure the right place. HOW: I’m coming to Canberra next weekend (29-30 October) hoping to check out some places on the Saturday, and Sunday if need be. So if you would like to meet me and show me your place, or know more about me, please text or message me by Friday with a bit about your place and why you think I’ll be a good fit, and we’ll go from there. I might not be able to get around to everyone so the more you can tell me, the better!
nursing student, singer, works on llama farms. I'm a simple guy who gets on with pretty much anyone who has a sense of humour. I have a dog, Blue Bear, house trained and goes to work with me so we'd only be home in the afternoons. My lease is ending so Blue Bear and I are needing a room pretty soon. I am clean, organised and considerate of others. Its been really hard finding a room for me and Blue Bear so any help would be greatly appreciated. Love to cook. Pineapple on Pizza is Satan incarnate though.
I'm a first year ANU student who is looking for a new place to stay. I'm respectful and will always keep common areas clean. I love to watch movies and tv shows but am also a lover of books. I take my studies pretty seriously so when I have assignments I will pretty much be locked up in my room procrastinating. However, other than that I am quite sociable and enjoy a good chat with my roommates. I'm a pretty chill person and not much really gets to me that easily. Did I mention my love of animals? I seriously love animals. I had two dogs, a cat, a couple turtles, a hamster... In other words, I have no problems with pets. Also, I grew up in a bunch of different places (Malaysia and Japan just to name a couple) so I'm also really into traveling and learning about new cultures. Actually I myself am half Japanese and Australian so culture is one of my "things" I guess. If you're a friendly, inviting person who is open to living with a laid back person like me, please don't hesitate to contact me because I think we'd make perfect housemates!
I'm 22, working multiple jobs, super reliable, easy going and very tidy when it comes to shared spaces, I'm pretty quiet and prefer nights in but still keen to hang out with a drink and a game or movie every now and then
I work full time in government like most people in this town. I enjoy cycling, bars, road trips, and smashed avo brunches. I'm clean, easygoing and respectful of others' space. All the good things you want in a housemate. Active outside the house but am always happy to chat over dinner or a glass of wine! Available to move in anytime between now and November 13!
About the room: You can take your pick from two rooms - one with built in robe, one without. The room is unfurnished. You have your own bathroom and separate toilet (only shared with the guest room, available for all house mates to use for visitors). About the house: This is a light and airy big 3 bedroom house with a garage, carport and ample off street parking. There is a shed for bike and garden equipment storage, a Hills Hoist, and a lovely garden with some fruit trees and a new veggie patch. Bills (shared) include gas, electricity and internet. We have a cleaner come once a fortnight. It is fully furnished (photos taken while house was still empty), except for your room. About the area: You are a 10 minute walk from either the Watson or Hackett shops, and about 2km from the large Dickson shopping complex. Or you can be looking at kangaroos at the base of Mt Majura within a 15 minute walk. There are two bus routes to the city that leave a few minutes from the house, or it is 20 minute ride to the city. You can be either in the bush, in the city or at the shops within 15-20 minutes.
Partially furnished (or unfurnished) room available for rent in relaxed older style and quirky house. Share with professional and small friendly dog. Large sunny backyard with herb and vegie patch and many lovely native birds. The house is clean but relaxed. The shower, bath and toilet are all separate which makes for easy sharing. I enjoy listening to ABC radio, walking with friends and going to yoga. I am respectful of privacy and personal space - the house has two living spaces which is a bonus. PS. Unlike in the photos, the bedrooms are now mostly unfurnished, and can be completely unfurnished if needed.
Room available in Downer share house. Ten minute walk from Watson shops, conveniently located vis a vis bus services. Highlights: gas stove, central heating, unique but practical bathroom situation, large centrally located whiteboard, library/ guest room, numerous sofas. The room currently up for grabs is compact, but comfortably fits a double bed and has a large built in, mirrored robe which makes it seem both larger and lighter. The room can come unfurnished, or with a double bed, the rest of the house is fully furnished. If you're interested, please shoot through an email with a bit about yourself and a contact number.
I'm Elson, 27, from Taiwan, and gonna be ANU student from next semester. Now, I'm holding Working Holiday VISA for being familiar with Canberra in advanced, also I have a very stable PT job just right in Canberra Centre. I'm very easy going. Mostly, I would only play guitar and watch street dance video while being at home. Please inbox me if you think I could be a good member in your house.
I'm currently still completing year 12, and intend to do further study at UNI. I've been working at a cafe for 3 years and enjoy it very much. I can be a social person, chat about mutual interests and enjoy getting to know people. I also enjoy my alone quiet time as well. I can confidently say I am mature for my age, due to growing up with a single parent and three younger brothers. Also meaning I am no stranger to cleaning up my own mess as well as assisting to keep the household tidy. I'm into reading and watching a few different TV shows, also a huge cat person, so wouldn't mind moving into a house with a cat or any type of animal! I've been in Canberra for majority of my life and intend to stay here. I'm not planning to move out until later in the year however, and just want to extend my feelers out to see what's available. Thanks!
Iam Vikas a masters student from ANU,Iam currently looking rent a room on the inner north, possibly to move in by the end of October. Iam 24 and originally from bangalore, India. Been here about 8 months more or less. Working in domino's Fyshwick. I also teach dance in Canberra school of bollywood dancing and Hobbys are photography and videography. Iam clean tidy and respectful of others space and enjoy socializing as well.
I recently graduated from ANU with an Honours in Geography and now I'm hanging out in Canberra just having a seriously lovely time. I'm into climate justice and poetry, and I like summer evening bike rides and I've just re-discovered Nick Cave (!!!). I'm a Ravenclaw, and my preference is cheap wine or expensive beer. Basically a classic Canberra leftie. I really want a house where people chat and hang out and cook together, not just hide in their rooms. I like places that are neat and tidy, and where everyone respects the space. I have two chickens (Taylor Swift and Lorde). They are good layers but don't have to come with me as pets aren't suitable for every house!
Hello my name is Sarah and I wanted to send through my expression of interest into your available room which sounds great :) A bit about me: I am 25 and am currently studying my Masters of teaching by correspondence. I work at an after school care during the week and am looking for somewhere peaceful to settle & call home with some like hearted people while living here in Canberra town. I moved up to Canberra from Melbourne in February of this year. I lived in Melbourne for 5 years & while there I experienced many share homes... so I feel familiar with all the ins & outs of community living - sharing, caring, respect & fun :) I studied art in Melbourne as well as art therapy so I enjoy all things creative. I am currently learning to play guitar too....In my spare time I enjoy being quiet, making art & craft, baking, gardening, exploring Canberra's nature spots, yoga and meditation. I would be happy to pop round & visit some time & meet everyone if you all feel like it too. Thank you & all the best, Sarah :)

Some of our hobbies include (and intend to include) hiking/farmers markets/gardening/camping/cooking/craft/trashy TV/TV that's also not trashy/hosting dinners with friends/bike riding/yoga/you get the gist. We like a good night in, a wine or a few but aren't into crazy parties (prefer to mess someone else's house up) but were generally really friendly and happy for you to live your lifestyle as you please!
