Available from 10 March, our place suits young professionals or students looking for a quiet space with lots of privacy in the Inner North. We are a short walk to the bus (route #2) for Dickson or Civic and 2km from a tram stop. There’s already a cavoodle at the property so unfortunately we can’t accept any other pets! The owner lives next door (dual occupancy) and looks after all the bills, furniture, internet, gardening, maintenance etc. (extra $25 per week addition to rent) The property is set amongst large mature trees and is very peaceful, with views of Mount Majura and across the street from a small park. The ACU (Australian Catholic University) is less than a 5 minute walk away. ANU and UC are both 8km away. Close to Mount Majura, Hackett shops and across the street from Canberra Magic Kitchen (vegan meals).
I'm studying Curatorship and Arts at uni, and this should (finally) be my last year of study. I also work in Braddon and will be doing a few internships & gallery placements this year. I'm easy-going and ideally looking for a place where we enjoy each other's company but also our own space, keep shared spaces fairly tidy but overall relaxed and informal. Basically - I'm very flexible (except in yoga class where I can very inflexible, but I try).
Hello I'm Jem! I'm quiet, honest, easy to talk to and very respectful. I also absolutely love meeting new people! I have a friendly calm 6 y.o cat who does his own thing, has never attacked scratched or bitten anyone ever, however he does not get along with other animals at all. I know how to take care of myself and how to take care of a home, I have lived by myself for 2 years and out of home since I was 17, I am very clean and tidy and always willing to chip in with anything that needs to be done. I enjoy creative things, I love gardening reading writing hiking and drawing but also love to binge watch Netflix or weird documentaries with a cheeky glass of wine. I don't party I just want a nice place to call my own so I can work hard. I have all my own furniture and appliances so unfurnished is fine or I'm happy to bring along anything that might be needed Im in the process of looking at a few 2-3 bedroom properties through real estates, I have some inspections coming up and if any of you are interesting in teaming up then just message me and you are welcome to come along I do smoke occasionally but am in no way a heavy smoker, I might have one every few days and am on my way to quitting completely Feel free to message me any time :)
I work full time as a technical support engineer, and will be working from Canberra which is why I'm looking for accommodation here! I am originally from Sweden (but an Aus citizen), so this will be the first time I'm permanently living in Australia. In my free time I play quite a bit of video games but I also really enjoy going out and seeing and exploring new things, which I hope I'll be doing quite a bit of! I'm looking for a place where I'll be able to stay for a longer amount of time (6m+), as I'd like to be able to live relatively steady while I have a job. I really am not too fussed about how many people I live with or what they do, as long as they don't smoke inside. I'd also be fine living with any type of pet. As I'm not actually arriving to Australia until March 5th, meeting me before to see who/what I am might be difficult. However, I am totally down to Skype or whatever is suitable beforehand so that that neither of us have to go in blind.
Hi, I'm a 21 year old female studying first year engineering at ANU. I'm an easygoing, friendly and tidy person. I love reading, the outdoors, animals, and nice cups of tea. I'm looking for a private room to rent in North Canberra for under $300 a week (a stretch I know), I'm flexible on sharing bathrooms and require parking (on-street is fine). I would ideally like to be within riding distance of ANU. Looking forward to hearing from you :)
Hi there! I'm a chill uni student about to start a permanent part-time job looking for somewhere for myself and my bird to stay. I am looking for an unfurnished room if possible. If required I come with all the furniture and kitchen things needed for a flat, and I come with a flexible eating and chore style. I'm down for hanging out with my housemates, but I enjoy my own company too. I'm very go-with-the-flow, and am willing to compromise and work with my housemates. I have extensive renting experience, and a car, so if people want late-night maccas runs I'm your gal!
Hello, I am currently doing my Masters at ANU and also working part time coaching basketball. My friend works full time in Belconnen. We are looking for a place in the inner north or belconnen. Happy to team up or join a share house. We are very easy going, tidy and social people. We both enjoy houses with clean communal areas and a friendly atmosphere. Let us know if you have any questions :)
Hi, I'm a 4th year mathematics undergraduate student from India. I'll be visiting ANU from May 2019 to March 2020. This is regarding my Master's thesis. I love meeting new people, reading, shopping, travelling... I am looking for a house in the above period, I'm fine with shared or non shared arrangements.
I am a second year undergrad studying health science at ANU, working casually at Questacon. I am very friendly, pretty tidy, and love to chat but respectful of space. I like music, art and books, bush walks, spending time with family and friends as well as drinking coffee. I am looking for a room close to ANU with friendly likeminded students or professionals for between 6-12 months moving in over the next few weeks (flexible).
Hey my name is Chloe I am looking at renting with a couple of house mates. I would be looking to move in around end of March/ early April. I would be looking for a small bedroom in a shared house. I have a full time traineeship in the public service and I work Monday to Friday. I am a neat, friendly person who loves a social outing but also a quite night at home for some alone time. He is a 9 month old, fully toliet trained and is supper friendly with people, he loves a good play and pat. Would love to hear from you Chloe
I'm a 30-something public servant, living and working in Canberra since 2014. I've lived in a sharehouse in Campbell for the last 5 years and am looking for a room in a mature, considerate sharehouse in a leafy inner suburb. While I enjoy my own space and like peace and quiet during the work week I am a cheery house guest and happy to enjoy a cuppa or movie night on the weekend. Tidy and considerate, I'm very happy to do my share of household chores and am a keen gardener. I have a cat, Oswald, a ginger tabby who is very talkative, but friendly and enjoys cuddles and belly rubs. He will be your friend if you feed him :) He is currently an indoor/outdoor cat. If you think Oswald and I would be a good addition to your household we'd love to hear from you :) Hannah & Oswald
I'm a nonbinary PhD student at ANU. I'm very clean and friendly, and usually up for a chat. I'm a very outdoorsy person and like to spend my weekends hiking or camping. Otherwise I spend a lot of time playing video games or reading to relax. I'm looking for a place close to ANU with chill and accepting housemates that I can hang out with but also have my own space.
Hey! My name's Niall, I'm a full-time undergrad at the ANU. I'm looking for a share-house or apartment in the Inner North. I love trail running, hiking and other outdoorsy activities. I've had bad roommates in the past so I definitely know what NOT to do - I'm clean and get that shared space needs to be kept tidy. I'd love a beer and a chat after uni but also understand everyone's need for personal space. Super keen to hear from you and see how I can add to your household!
Hi! We are Langdon and Michael and are two university students at ANU looking for 2 bedrooms either sharing with others or as a single property, ideally before the start of the new semester. below you will find a description of each of us. We would love to hear from you! My name is Langdon and I'm going into my fourth year of university at ANU and am looking for a place to live this year. I am from a small town in rural NSW but I grew up in Argentina and America so can speak spanish and have traveled quite a bit. my hobbies include the outdoors, photography, music, and exercise. I am always happy to chat over a beer or to play a game of cards or scrabble but am also very considerate and respect peoples wants for privacy. I'm not much of a party animal, I prefer to stay in with a movie and some nice food over a late night in civic. I am a very keen cook so have a whole heap of cooking books and equipment to clutter the kitchen and hopefully produce some good food out of it. I'm very neat and organised (usually) and will be working two part time jobs as well as being a full time student so will be very busy most of the time. I love playing sport in particular soccer and swimming, and really keen on bouldering at blochaus in Fyshwick. so would love it if I could find some people who are keen on learning to rock climb with me! I am currently interning at an agricultural export company in Melbourne but will be returning to Canberra around the 15th so would really love to have a place organised by then. Thanks a-lot! Langers Hello! I’m Michael and will be going into my fifth and final year of university at the ANU and looking for a year long lease to move into. Originally from Malaysia, I’ve moved to Canberra for university and is now proudly calling Canberra my second home! Growing up in Malaysia has exposed me to a lot of different cultures and that has made me fluent in a few languages. To name a few, Cantonese, Malay, English, and to a certain extent Mandarin. I have recently started to like playing board and card games, and I will always be down to play a few games alongside with some quality wine (and a cheese board!) While my party days as a university student’s history, my usual Thursday night and weekend have evolved around Netflix or just simply doing some body weights workout in my room. Like most people, I believe respecting privacy is one of the key features in maintaining a nice and loving share house. Being a Malaysian at heart means that we love to eat. Thus, the kitchen is no stranger to me. I love making Malaysian foods (though nothing close to home) and would not mind sharing some of my dishes with the household!! Other than that, I also do meal prepping on Sundays when I get really busy. I will be working part time at two jobs alongside being a full time student. Even when I’m busy, I try to keep places neat, tidy, and adhering to the cleaning schedule (if there’s one). When I have some spare time, I love hitting the gym and doing some cycling (rpm) lessons. I’d be more than happy for us to hit the gym together!! I am currently working for my family business in Malaysia and will return to Canberra on the 22nd, and it would be lovely to have a place organised by then. Thanks, Michael
Hello, I’m currently studying Environmental Science and working part time. I enjoy cooking, riding my bike, playing sport and anything else outdoors. Non-smoker and have a pet cat named Mac, he’s super relaxed and very low maintenance. If your place is looking for someone and I fit the credentials, feel free to contact me on here :)
Hi! I'm Liska, I'm an Honours student studying Chinese translation at ANU. I'm looking for a relaxed, friendly household in the inner north. I'm a language/history dork, love pets, consume music voraciously, enjoy long walks through suburbs, wilderness and parks, sew patches, play video games and make really good margaritas. Wanting to get into gardening + sewing this year too. I also write fiction and build fantasy worlds for fun and pay. Genuinely interested in hearing about your fav movies/books. Currently deep into a long-overdue Game of Thrones binge. Would be open to cooking together too! (although I'm vegetarian) Happy to work within organised cleaning/chore rosters. I keep my own space super tidy but don't need my housemates to be neatfreaks. I'll be bringing my collection of board + card games to wherever I move. I head up to Newcastle sometimes to visit my family and girlfriend. She also likes to visit me too now and then so I'm looking for somewhere where she'd be welcome to stay in my room. Let me know if your place sounds like a match!
Hey! We're a couple moving down to Canberra in Jan/Feb 2019 for work/study. Elena is starting her PhD at ANU, and Oskar is starting work at the ATO. We're both very flexible people - we appreciate the need for private bedroom space, but will happily chill in the living space with other housemates after work and on weekends. Around the house we're both very low maintenance, the sort of people who'll make the effort to wash up the dishes in the evening so we don't have to deal with it in the morning. In her spare time, Elena loves reading, drinking tea, and playing hockey. Oskar plays a lot of ultimate frisbee, listens to music, and enjoys being out-and-about. We're both casual trumpet players, though we only practice once or twice a week so don't worry about the noise! We're looking for 1-3 people to share a house with somewhere within 7km or so (cycling distance) of ANU. We don't have any strong preferences in housemates, as long as they're roughly 18-30yrs old, don't smoke inside the house, and are socially accepting people. We hope to hear from you soon :)
Hello! My name is Jean, I work part-time in childcare and I'm starting university in February. I'm looking for a room in a nice share house in the Inner North or near Belconnen. I'm quiet and tidy, but up for having a cup of tea and a chat. I'm also very happy to assist with the household chores. I like to read, hang out with my mates and look after my lemon tree. My move in date is flexible, I'm originally from Canberra and very keen to meet some potential housemates and find a lovely home!
Hi! I'm Ellen - a Canberra local who is currently working her dream job as a videographer at the Canberra Airport. I'm an active and social person and I'd love to find a share house that is fun and respectful 😊 Other selling points include: - I make a mean stir-fry - I shower in the evening so I won't hold you up in the rush to work - I know where to get all the best espresso martinis in town
