I'm currently working at the National Press Club in Barton and Selli's in the City part time whilst also recieving Centrelink benefits, implying that I have a stable and substantial income. I've been living in various short-term share housing rooms since I moved here. The owner of the current property I'm living in has had to sell due to debt. I love music, reading, plants and having a bit of banter.
Hi, I'm moving to Canberra from Brisbane at the beginning of February to start in a graduate program. Never lived in Canberra before so I'm a little lost on ideal locations. I know I'll be working on Northbourne Avenue in Braddon. I'm looking for a max 30-45 min commute so if you think your place would work please let me know. As for me, I'm a tidy, friendly and respectful person. Happy to make a trip down - it's always good to make sure all parties pass the serial killer test ;)
Hey hey hey. I'm a full time worker. But I don't work the average 9-5 hours. Start a little later and therefore finish a little later. I'm incredibly tidy and clean. Like to think I am easy going. Can provide a washing machine, fridge, television, dining table and other communal furniture. Not looking to share with more than one other person. Any further questions don't hesitate to shoot me through some questions!
Sunny, spacious, bedroom available from the start of December in the beautiful leafy suburb of Hackett. This wonderful one storey house is dog-friendly, with views of Mt Majura and Mt Ainslie, and only 2 minutes to Dickson shops, 12 minutes to Civic, and 18 to Westfield Belconnen (if you drive really slowly.) Your room: Sunny and spacious, with large sliding doors onto the back deck. Has a built in ducted heating and an enormous triple wardrobe with space for hanging, and a lot of shelving. Your room is across the hall from a large bathroom including a large mirror, shower/bath and toilet, which you will be sharing with one other very tidy female. The room is very private from the other bedrooms, and we find with our current tenant that we barely cross paths! Your room comes un-furnished, so you have complete autonomy over your own decorating! The House: 4 bedrooms, and including you, 3 will be occupied. One small single room is left empty - currently a storage space - however could be used as a study for the new tenant, or a spare room for guests. Annie and Amy live down the far end of the house, which is semi-partitioned off with a door. Being an established share-house, the house comes complete with a washing machine, dishwasher and new oven, and gas stovetop, as well as fridge/freezer, kettle, microwave and all dishware/kitchen furnishings as well (plenty of room to accomodate another's things however!) We have also furnished the rest of the living space with a dining table & chairs, stools, and the occasional piece of art. We don't currently have a TV or couch (as neither of us are home enough to enjoy it!) but if you have these items, you'd be welcome to put them into the living room :) Outside: Off-street parking and the car-port is available for the renter of this room. We have a small insulated granny flat outside, which is currently used as storage, and there is MORE than enough room for a third persons things. We also have a social and warm (but covered) outside decking area with outdoor setting. Our grassed area is small, but would be plenty of room for a puppy if you bring one! YOU: We are seeking someone with a bit of maturity, and someone who has lived in a share-house before. We are ideally wanting a young professional, (or a fun older professional!) but mostly just someone who is tidy, considerate, and respectful of our home, but who is also active and down for a chat. DOG: If you're bringing a doggo into the house, they must be housetrained, and be cool with getting an enormous amount of attention, cuddles, and walks up Mt Majura from the current tenants. Rent is $200 a week (without a dog), $220 (with a dog) paid monthly in advance, and 4 weeks rent is required prior to moving in as bond. You will need to sign the lease prior to moving in also. We are in the process of setting up NBN internet, and bills are split evenly 3 ways - internet will be monthly, and utilities per quarter. Room will be available from the first week of December, when our current tenant sadly leaves us to move into her investment property! No couples, or cats regretfully (one of us is allergic!) Ideally long-term renter - stays shorter than 4 months will not be considered. Please text Amy with your name and a little about yourself so we can arrange a time to inspect or to meet up for a chat :)
Hi! I am originally from Melbourne and am one of the many grads flooding into Canberra to start full-time work in 2019. I am a coffee, cheese and pizza enthusiast. I also love baking and am happy to provide bake goods to future housemates. I am very much housetrained and know how important it is to be neat, clean and respectful of people's privacy. I am looking for some likeminded people who enjoy both time alone and a good chat over wine and dinner.
Hey! I’m Jemma, I’m a soon to be graduate nurse and work part-time in retail. I am an easy going, bubbly and friendly person who loves socialising with friends but also a quiet night in. I am super clean and respectful of others and my surroundings. I am looking for someone who is like minded, and am happy to team up for a place. If you have any questions feel free to send me a message :)
Hey there! I'm moving to Canberra from Adelaide in Feb 2019 to start as an APS Graduate (I know that's still a while away but I thought I might try and get a jump on the crowds..) I've lived in share houses for the last few years and have loved it - I'm friendly, very relaxed and more than happy to pull my weight with cleaning and cooking etc etc. I'm looking for a house of people who are easy going and who are keen to hang out and share a meal and a few drinks every now and again. That said, I also know how crazy work and study can be and we all need time alone to recharge. A little more about myself... I love hiking, camping and getting outdoors, I try to ride my bike wherever I can, and I try to live sustainably. I enjoy cooking and baking and Netflix binging in my free time. I've accumulated quite a bit of furniture and some appliances - couches/coffee table/fridge/washing machine and so on - which I'm more than happy to supply if you need it. Otherwise an empty bedroom to call my own is all I need. If you think we'd get along and you might have a free room around the start of 2019 please let me know! Cheers :)
I am a very laid back person but fun to live with. I am a clean individual and respectful of everyone's needs in the household. I play soccer in the winter and am sports crazy. I am an active individual and like the outdoors. I study a double degree of nursing and paramedicine with hopes of becoming a paramedic after my study.
Just a silly lad without a dad who enjoys making people laugh. Also I make a pretty mean salsa. I know how to turn on a vacuum and push a broom across the floor. Currently studying year 12 so I’ll be out of the house mon - fri. I’m a dam good artist and self professed comedian but I understand when to be serious. I’ve been looking after myself for 3 years now and have been having a great time doing it. I can also provide some pretty good references on request😊
Hey! We're a couple moving down to Canberra in Jan/Feb 2019 for work/study. Elena is starting her PhD at ANU, and Oskar is starting work at the ATO. We're both very flexible people - we appreciate the need for private bedroom space, but will happily chill in the living space with other housemates after work and on weekends. Around the house we're both very low maintenance, the sort of people who'll make the effort to wash up the dishes in the evening so we don't have to deal with it in the morning. In her spare time, Elena loves reading, drinking tea, and playing hockey. Oskar plays a lot of ultimate frisbee, listens to music, and enjoys being out-and-about. We're both casual trumpet players, though we only practice once or twice a week so don't worry about the noise! We're looking for 1-3 people to share a house with somewhere within 7km or so (cycling distance) of ANU. We don't have any strong preferences in housemates, as long as they're roughly 18-30yrs old, don't smoke inside the house, and are socially accepting people. We hope to hear from you soon :)
We are kind, courteous and polite who know how to respect a home. We are Phd and Honours students and also receive income through scholarships and casual work. Currently, looking for a place starting Feb 2019.
I’m 23 and originally from Townsville but moved to Canberra two years ago. I’m currently studying at uni (bachelor of arts - politics and business). I’ve previously lived in share houses before and also shared uni accommodation (I’m happy to give you their contact details if you want to have a chat with any of them.) I’m pretty friendly and easy to live with. I keep things clean and tidy.
My name is Emilia, I've been in Canberra for almost a year now and work full time at a university. I'm looking to find a nice and friendly sharehouse that I can call my home for a little while :) I've sharehoused previously. I'm neat and tidy, I like to catch up and have a chat with housemates at the end of the day but also keep pretty busy trying to get out for a walk or some yoga after work, and respect the need for down time.
I'm moving to Canberra from northern NSW to start work in the APS in 2019. I'm tidy, reliable, respectful, and always up for a friendly chat or rant about the daily grind. I hope to make some great friends that I can have fun with on weekends, whether that be cooking in our pjs, having movie marathons, or going on ski trips!
I am Shubh, 24 years old and study master of earth sciences at ANU. My current landlord is selling the house (in north Watson), thus I'm looking for a place preferably within 5-6 km of ANU. Like my degree, I enjoy natural settings more than city places, thus adore CBR. I am into hiking, cycling, and running. I read a fair bit, listen to classic rock and love a conversation over a beer/wine about history, art, science, literature etc etc. I work part-time (hospo) and also my degree is research-based, so I leave in the morning and come back in the evening. As for my habits, I like to keep my surroundings clean and lead a healthy life. I understand that each individual is different and therefore, I don't keep any kind of prejudices.
Hello! I am looking for a new place to call home :-) I am in my 30's, a health orientated, environmentally conscious vegan, living an intentional life :-) I try to live low-impact and low-toxic. I am enthusiastic about the voluntary simplicity movement, co-operatives and the share-economy! I love being surrounded by beauty and simplicity in my home :-) I want to live in a peaceful and harmonious environment, one that is conducive to creative and yogic practices. I am a social introvert--warm and friendly, but recharge my energy with alone time. I work in the Cultural sector, and as a Creative Arts therapist, (and I try to have my own art-practice as well).
Current lease ends at January 22nd 2019, looking for a place to move in immediately after that > full-time phd student > friendly and easy-going > respect others' privacy > have a car (so that my roommate and I can go out and have fun on holidays)
I'm a full time professional looking for a tidy share with friendly housemate(s), preferably a master/large bedroom. I drive, gym, cook, read, movie nights, socialize etc. I'm considerate to live with and easy going. I have a bed, desk etc to bring, Happy to share a meal and drink or chat.
Hey I am Imogen! I am a fun and happy gal. Currently studying Social Work at ACU. Moved to Canberra at the start of last year for uni. Working part-time. I am chilled and relaxed and like to have a bit of a yarn :) Also love some Netflix and down time!
We are looking for a happy, friendly housemate to share our home. About the room: Sunny, north facing room with a huge built-in wardrobe. It can come either furnished, or unfurnished. We have a wrought iron queen bed frame, a big wooden chest of drawers, and an antique wooden desk and chair we can offer. The mattress is really comfortable. About the house: It is a cosy and sunny house, with off-street parking, three bedrooms, a bathroom (both a bath and a shower), separate toilet, reverse cycle air-con, dishwasher, and bathroom heat lamps. There is also a big backyard with lots of fruit trees, a big organic veggie garden, a garage and bike shed, as well as a large front garden. About the area: Mount Ainslie is behind our house and you can walk up it via a ridge that also runs along in front of the house, with lots of pretty birds and kangaroos. We are in between Dickson and Ainslie shops (a 5 min ride either direction, or you can take the bus), and there’s a bus that goes to the city/ANU directly opposite our house. Otherwise, the bike path is just a few metres from our house, is a pretty ride through the wetlands and takes about 10-15 minutes to get to Civic. The suburb has nice wide streets and is a relaxing haven from the city, while also feeling very close to everything.
Rent includes everything (Internet, Utilities, fully furnished master bedroom and home). Commuters welcome if seeking weekdays only. Apologies no couples. Seeking a clean, considerate and responsible individual, working full-time, to join my home for 1 - 3 - 6 months (with a possibility of extension). Being dog friendly is essential. (My housemate has won a new role overseas. She has been an awesome fit to my home and has adored my sweet pooch, enjoying another soul in the house. I'm hopeful for lightening to strike twice and find another housemate who is just as fabulous). I have a 3 bedroom plus study home, in the quiet sanctuary suburb of older (cooler) Watson. Within 5 mins walking distance to Watson shops (Knox Cafe) and Mt. Majura walking tracks, for a nature escape. Very central to the city centre and public transport within easy walking distance. Off street parking is available or if preferred can lock behind gated driveway. Offering the sunny master bedroom of my home, with floor to ceiling mirrored built-in wardrobe. The master bedroom is at the rear side of the house, so very quiet and is fully furnished with a queen size bed, linen, pillows, doona and electric blanket (for those who feel the cold) included. Fresh towels included also. Shared retro bathroom in great condition with updated shower screen (sharing only with myself). Central heating and cooling. Superior washing machine. Wifi. New Kitchen with everything you need (pots, pans, kitchen gadgets, fridge - the lot!) and renovated combined lounge/dining area. A chest freezer in the garage if you're a bulk buyer of frozen hoard. Brick garage also available for some storage if required. Sunny back deck (for smokers and sun worship) and large grassy back lawn with surrounding private hedges. You simply bring yourself, your clothes and food. If you feel like my home could be a place for you to call home, please feel free to contact me.
This 4 bedroom house has a large back garden and covered deck with a bbq. When the tram arrives it will be within walking distance. It is a stone's throw from local shops and the bus into civic. It is also right around the corner from the Saturday farmer's market. The house has been renovated within the last 9 years and is clean and comfortable. There is no bond on either room and they are suitable for short or long term stay. Any applicant must be approved by the landlady. The rooms can be rented singly ($175 each) or I'm happy to rent two rooms for $250. I have done this in the past and it works quite well. The rooms are the in back of the house and the occupant can use a separate entrance.
I am pretty quiet, enjoy tea, chats and have great taste in TV & poetry. I'm currently working part-time in the community sector and loving it! Canberra has got me hooked on latin partner dancing, yeah I didn't see this hobby coming either :p At home, I like to cook with fresh veggies, do yoga and try my hand at gardening.
Hi, I'm Daniel and I work full-time in the public service. I've been living in a 2-person sharehouse in Watson, and lived in a 4-person sharehouse in Braddon previously. WHAT LOCATION I'M LOOKING FOR: I'm looking for a place within walking distance to the Canberra Centre, or somewhere close to a bus stop. THE HOUSE/ROOM I'M LOOKING FOR: The place I'm looking for would ideally have an ensuite, covered parking space, dishwasher, washing machine, and a bedroom with enough space for a queen bed, large desk, and digital piano (not necessary though!). WHEN AND HOW LONG I'M LOOKING TO MOVE: I can move in with a few weeks notice, but am flexible with a move in date. I'm interested in a 12 month lease, but am happy to negotiate. WHAT I CAN BRING: I've got furniture for my room, but can also offer an iron and ironing board, large chest freezer, and some things for the kitchen. If there's anything else you're looking for, let me know and I'll see if I can help too. My ideal housemate/s would be friendly, sociable (but also understanding of personal space), tidy, and of either gender. I believe it's important to have a coffee/beer/dinner every now and then so we wouldn't be complete strangers to each other, but I value me time too! If you'd like to chat or meet up over coffee, let me know. I'm also happy to provide references.
Hey! I am a young professional working in Fyshwick. I moved to Canberra about 3 months ago and am definitely looking forward to the warmer weather! I am neat, friendly and respectful housemate looking for a place to call home. I would ideally prefer my own bathroom and off street parking. I enjoy going to the gym, hiking, exploring markets and have a wine now and then.
I am currently working full time and trying to look for a place for my boyfriend and I to stay as we are currently working to save enough money to move out! We are both very friendly, tidy and are always down to help others!
I am a student at CIT and I work part-time as a bar supervisor at QT Hotel. I like to keep the house tidy and like to keep my privacy. I also respect others' privacy but wouldn't mind occasional chat over drinks. I will mostly be working during nights and weekends and the rest of the time I will be studying.
Hello! We are a young couple from Indonesia doing masters at the ANU. We are friendly and easy-going people, hardworking and a bit of obsessed with cleanliness xd so we are always excited whenever we have to do house-cleaning activities (it does help to release stress from uni workload though!). I love cooking and enjoy watching films and reading books, and both of us are great fans of cats :D Always be happy to have nice conversations with everyone about anything. Cheers!
I am moving to Canberra from Melbourne for a 8.30-5.30 job and studying next year. I am a very friendly and respectful guy who is social and loves a beer and/or wine. I understand personal space and will always pitch in to keep the house tidy. I enjoy playing Touch footy and basketball. I am looking for housemates to chill with and happy to show me around Canberra! 11/10 banter
I am moving up from Melbourne to study a Masters Degree in Neuroscience at ANU. I am looking for somewhere clean and reasonably quiet. I enjoy reading, board games, going for walks, and chatting about interesting topics. I have experience living in two different sharehouses, and am a big believer in establishing clear expectations and in everyone doing their part to keep everything clean, tidy, and running smoothly.
Hey! I'm in my mid-twenties, finishing my degree in Philosophy and Human Rights and moving up to Canberra! I'm a homely and interactive type, the kind who loves to chat after a day of work, share meals together, and play a round of cards or chess over a good (cheap) bottle of wine, but I also value down-time. I love to cook (think Ottolenghi, Vietnamese or Mexican from scratch), and appreciate a good veggie/herb garden. I'm known to spend hours: at my potter's wheel, op-shopping, at any social dancing spots, immersed in a book, getting lost and finding my way back on hikes. *Date is flexible from November to end of January! **Preferring between $150-200 a week
I'm a single gal in her early forties, employed professional. Originally from Adelaide and moved to canberra a couple years ago for work. I really love the bush setting of Canberra and am opening to living anywhere within an hour of Belconnen. I'm clean and tidy but not anal, friendly but still respectful of others privacy, space and belongings. I enjoy yoga, dance, bushwalking and healthy living (with a glass wine!). Looking for a room with its own bathroom for 6 - 12 months.
Hi, My name is Pat and my rabbit and I need a place to live. I am open to living anywhere that does not have a cat or dog as I am allergic. That is the only hard and fast rule that I have that I can think of. Me: I am a quiet non-smoker who is generally happy with a quiet night in playing video games or watching netflix. Charlotte: She Is a quiet litter trained bunny who loves snacks and being grumpy. She would live in my room with me. She doesn't chew baseboards, carpet etc. I would be happy to pay a pet bond etc for her.
Hi future flatmates! I'm Courtney and am a student wanting to study in Canberra to be a high school art teacher and another teaching pathway. I currently reside in Ballarat and work at a winery as a waitress/caterer an hour away from where I live. I am wanting/needing to move early January anywhere in Canberra. I am an easy-going, super bubbly person that can have a chat to anyone. I love to sit down and have a joke, eat food and talk about food, and my passions are drawing, painting and leisure roller skating! I love love loooooove my music and have a record player that is open for anyone to use. I clean up after myself and help out with the dishes, and a very smiley social person that will dance anywhere. Yet, you won't hear me stumbling in late drunk because I am a non-drinker. I respect people's privacy and needs for self-time. I also have a partner (in my profile picture) who is living in Canberra on his campus, so it's just me applying to share! But you will see him often and can make friends with him also. Thanks for reading my description! Hope to hear from you
-I'm like the most boring and responsible adult you have ever met, so the rent and bills will always be paid and I will clean up after myself and my cat. -I work full time as a management consultant (if you have seen House of Lies adjust your expectations...sadly my life is not that exciting) -I'm a great cook and I will leave you delicious treats when I make too much (often) -I work a lot so usually not home before 7 -I like outdoorsy activities so I'm often out of the house for a lot of the weekend -I'm a pretty straightforward person-if there is an issue just tell me and we can sort it out. I have a strict no BS policy and am not interested in being passive agressive or game playing-life is short! -I have a beautiful but shy cat called Rosa. Like myself, food is the way to her heart
Hey there! I'm Eryn and I'm quite the dynamite gal. I've just completed my Cert IV in Musical Theatre but will not serenade you with broadway songs if you do not wish for me to do so. I'm a pretty arty person and love to draw/get my art on and obviously perform. I'm currently working 3 jobs in children's entertaining/educating and customer experience. I'm a fully grown child and love to watch anything disney (classic and pixar), As a theatre girl, I would consider myself outgoing (but not whack job crazy) but I do respect that some people need privacy/quiet time :) I appreciate the casual wine and cheese nights, although I appreciate the cheese more so than the wine. Let me know if you have any more questions!
