I'm moving to Canberra in January to begin work as a 2018 APS grad. I'll be finishing up my psychology degree in Newcastle at the end of this year, then travelling for a few months and moving down in January. Interested in meeting new people, getting to know Canberra, playing sports etc. I'm looking to a find a place within walking/cycling distance to Civic and ideally close to shops, restaurants. Prefer a place where everyone is clean and tidy, friendly, chill etc.
Hello! I am a young professional in my late twenties. I am often described as thoughtful, playful, and tolerant by those who know me. I consider myself very tidy, clean, and respectful. I am looking to share a house/flat of mixed gender, ideally with other professionals, but students are fine too. Preferably 3-4 people (including myself). I love animals, so pets are not a problem. (That said, I do not have any pets of my own and won't be bringing or acquiring any). I love good food, outdoors, exploring new places, trying new things, exercise and lead an active lifestyle. Well maybe not as much as those who live in lycra and compete in sports... but I do enjoy the fresh air. I also enjoy being a home body, and would be happy curled up on the couch with a glass of red, playing board games with whomever is up for a chat. I am a clean and organised person, but I don't go nuts with cleaning rosters. I believe we're all capable of pitching in with the cleaning when needed and when it's not inconvenient to do so. That said, I'd prefer not to live in a pig sty. If I sound like the right flatmate to you, shoot me a message, introducing yourself and the other tenants. Thanks! P.S. I do want to be part of a home and get to know you all, not just living with flat mates, however I have a preference to do my own cooking. Happy to participate in house dinners every now and then, especially the spontaneous ones, but I don't want to be committed to three different dinners cooked by three different people each week. My cap for shared dinners is probably once a week i.e. someone different takes a turn to cook every Tuesday, rather than three different people cooking three different days in the same week. P.P.S. I cannot live without a dishwasher. They are the best thing ever invented and I will use it religiously.
Hi there! I'm an active young woman who works for Cisco out at Brindabella Park. I grew up here, so plenty of local knowledge. I don't have pets just YET, but I'm planning on rescuing a doggo or two, because I love dogs and also they're the key to happiness. This means that, if possible, I'd love a place with a yard. It doesn't have to be massive, as I'm in the habit of walking any dogs I have twice a day, every day. I regularly go to the gym - Eighty8 near my work, Anytime Fitness, and BlocHaus climbing gym - so I'm out of the house until quite late on weekdays. On weekends, I like relaxing around the house, moaning about being tired, then finally dragging myself off my butt to buy expensive brunch like the usual entitled millennial (but I hate avocado - ask me why I haven't bought a house yet!) and hang out with my mates. I am not at all a morning person; in fact I hate them. And I'm also not really a party person unless someone else does all the work and drags me out the door. I'm really not suited to a student household or a house with more than two other people - I've done my time in massive sharehouses, and I'm not about that life anymore. I do like cooking, but I'm pretty boring, because I usually bulk cook everything once a week and then eat frozen leftovers. Sometimes I feel inspired and make cakes/biscuits/assorted baked goods which I expect to share, because please take all those sweet things away from me. I definitely have too many clothes, so expect to triple your wardrobe if you're a size 8/shoe size 7, because I share. If you're a bloke, you can share too, but don't stretch out anything expensive! I enjoy video games, and I have a nice PC and an Xbox 360 (yes, I refuse to update, that workhorse is still going strong). I also read a lot! In summary: - One or two other people to share; - Small yard for a doggy; - Not a party animal; - Tragically single, so no bf/gf to awkwardly meet, but occasional sobbing; - Sometimes sing in the shower, but am actually decent; - Unfortunately shed long blonde hair everywhere; - Don't smoke, do drink infrequently; - Relaxed, full time employed, also I smell nice.
I'm an experienced house-sharer, considerate of others, clean, respectful, social / independent. Creative and inquisitive soul... Enjoy the outdoors, travelling, going on hikes, photography, nature, reading, seeing live music, catching up with friends, music festivals, eating (fairly) healthy. Seeking some funky folk to share with. Normally i'd start my own share house but this rental market is crazy. I'm looking for : inner north suburb preferably. Large room with space for queen bed, desk, bookshelf. Prefer a nice, relaxed and reasonably quiet (ie: non party till 4am every night) household where one can unwind and rest and sleep without interruption. Enjoy reading and listening to music, watching TV some nights (ABC / SBS / Netflix), playing acoustic guitar, tinkering around with creative musical projects, sharing a meal now and then, etc... Home Life : I enjoy social time when living with others but also value my own space. I like to keep things fairly clean, but i'm not a clean freak. Most of my friends are aged in their 30s so sharing around that age group would suit. If you think we'd be a good fit get in touch! Cheers Anthony.
We have just come back from a big overseas trip and are looking for a place close to the city. We both work full time. From Canberra, we both do crossfit but love almost any style of exercise training. Love camping, hiking, sunshine and being outdoors. Love a chat and sharing meals and a few drinks now and then but also respectful of personal space and downtime.
Hi, I'm a student teacher finishing my masters. I'm relaxed and friendly :) I have a small white spoodle (spaniel x poodle) named Digby. He's fully house-trained, pretty quiet and loves people. Ideally I'd like to find a place with a yard for him to run around in. I'm a swing dancer and spend three nights a week dancing. I'm also an artist and spend a lot of time drawing and painting.
I'm moving to Canberra to begin a PhD at ANU. I lived in Canberra for four years during my undergrad but have been overseas for the last six months. About me: I study physics, I'm from NZ but moved to Australia almost ten years ago, I run competitively (and will often be out running in the evenings), love getting outdoors/hiking, and am keen to try growing a few veggies.
We are both easy going, tidy and hard-working people. Happy to have a chat and relax. Love to experiment with some home cooked meals (even if they don't always work out as planned...)
I am a quiet and gentle guy and working as a Ph.D. research scholar in UNSW Canberra, ADFA.I am looking for a shared house/single room in an existing flat in convenient price. If you have any vacant shared house at above-mentioned locations, Please let me know
Hi All. I am a tech-enthusiastic, easy-going guy from Tasmania. I'm currently studying video game design, programming and small business management, and am very close to owning my own small studio in video game development. In my free time, I normally play video games, go to the cinema, or develop video games (It's my job and my passion). I'm a non-smoker, non-drinker, independent, tidy, organised, always pay on time, and enjoy genuine conversations. I'm planning to study in Watson ACT during 2018, and therefore i am looking for accommodation nearby for 1 year, starting around late January. I'd also be up for "teaming up" for accommodation. Hope to hear from prospective flatmates. :)
We are a chill, clean couple. We love cook-ups, gardening and bushwalking. We also value recycling, composting and trips to the farmers markets to buy cheeses to go with wine on the weekend. Happy to hang out and share dinners but respectful of privacy aswell. Not big fans of ordinary telly. Grace is public servant grad and Kieren is a graphic designer/animator. We are both well house trained. thank you kindly~
Hi :) I'm 25 and moving to Canberra for the first time on a temp contract on the 6th of August and need all the help I can get. I am looking for a short term to start off with and if I get extended, hopefully, longer term rental. As I don't know my way around yet, I am looking for something very close to work - Acton, Reid, Braddon and Turner would be ideal. However you have an apartment/house that is close to busses, and a short bus ride away, I'm definitely interested. Thanking you all in advance if you have read this and if you can help!! Lana
I am 25 and work full time at the legislative assembly. I'm easy going and generally enjoy keeping to myself but enjoy a casual chat in the evening. I spend most weekends either out watching sport, playing myself (I play Aussie Rules and Ice Hockey) or just simply catching up with mates.
Hello! My name is Amy and I am looking for a place in Canberra. I work full time at a beautiful cafe in Watson. I do come with two amazing indoor/outdoor cats that are really low maintenance. I am looking to move fairly soon.
Public servant working at Defence for eight years. Non smoker, clean and quiet. Enjoy sports and the outdoors. Am studying part time as well as working full time and training at the gym each day so fairly busy!
One room is available in a modern share house in Watson. The house is on Antill Street near Dickson and the Australian Catholic University. The house comes with internet, gas cooking and heating, air conditioning, fridge, and dishwasher. There are 2 undercover car parking spaces, and enough off-street parking for the housemates and guests. The room is unfurnished and has built-in cupboards. There is a separate toilet and a bathroom that is shared with one other room. There's a garden, shed, and covered area out the back, which are great for summer parties and BBQs. There's also a washing line. During winter, monthly bills are: * $50 electricity * $30 gas * $20 internet Gas and electricity are cheaper in summer. No pets, no smokers. I'm showing the house most nights and weekends. Call or message me for an inspection!
Kick ass location! 5 minute walk to Watson shops, 5 minute drive to Dickson. You can get to the city in about 10 minutes by car (20 by bike). The bus stop is super close too if you're brave enough to use public transport. Big yard, central heating, built-in wardrobes. It's basically a palace! Bond is $580. Rent is paid fortnightly. Bills are split. Dont pee in the shower. :)
Big house, big backyard, very fast unlimted internet, close to bus routes and local shops. Decent sized kitchen with plenty of spare shelf space. Some storage available aswell. Netflix and stan good to go. 2 rooms available, only after one tenant. Pets can be placed on the lease however would perfer someone without a pet. Small well trained pets will be considered.

Mid-twenties full time public servant, looking for long term accommodation. I am clean and not always home due to work or sport. Would like to ideally find one housemate (or two maximum), who do not smoke, or have pets (except for dogs) and who value keeping the communal areas (the Kitchen) clean after each use. Looking for an en suite scenario, good internet, secure car spot…happy to spend a bit more if necessary on amenities. I am Australian-French, enjoy food and would like to find a place near the city or towards Barton for work. My current lease ends on the 11th of November. Happy to move in around mid-October. I am flexible but keen to find a good match, but if this sounds like a good fit for you please let me know. Thank you
British guy moving to Canberra from London to take up a postdoc at ANU. I'm 30 years old, and I'm a tidy, considerate and sociable housemate. Interests and activities include cycling, hiking, and making/playing music. ANU can put me up in holding accommodation when I arrive on October 8, but I'd like to get on my own two feet as quickly as possible so I'm looking for a place that's available any time between then and Christmas. Up either for joining an existing houseshare or getting one going if there's anyone in a similar situation!
my name is Nicholas, I'm 24 and I work at dans murphy. I work quite a lot. I play tennis as much as I can. ive been in Canberra for 2years now, trying to find somewhere peaceful and meet people.
I am a 31yo male Engineer on the Canberra Light Rail. I try to stay fit and exercise (or just not get too fat) , but I do enjoy eating like a king on the weekends. a bit about me, I enjoy going to the gym, salsa dancing, my beloved Nissan weekend car, and hopefully get into some pilates for my ridiculously poor flexibility! On the weekends i dont mind a few frothies and a good burger with some banter. i enjoy going out and having a laugh , and i equally dont mind weekends chilling at home on the couch with a movie. As for house arrangements - I am very easy going and tidy, clean up after myself and easy to get along with. Im flexible with whoever I live with. Its not my first time doing the house share, so I know that everyone is different and theres always a solution so that everyone is happy. Wouldn't mind someone whos down for a few drinks or sharing a meal and some banter on the weekends! Cheers! Claudio
We are a couple relocating for work and sport. Brittany is an Australian representative athlete with full time training commitments and James is a sport professional working in the sport industry. We are both very friendly people, easy to get along with and no fuss. We generally don't spend much time at home as we are always out either training and working.
Hello future prospective house mates, I am interested in teaming up and creating a new share house where animals are welcome, or a single place. I am studying at CIT Reid and working part-time at a cafe in Civic, so would like somewhere not too far. I am friendly, mature, and usually keep to myself so noise won't be an issue. I love to cook, and am vegetarian. Hoping to make a veggie patch if potential for it! And opting to develop my sewing skills, crocheting, knitting, all the fun things :) I am happy to create a warm and inviting place where we all feel comfortable to be ourselves and add our own personal flair to the environment. I will have my cat Dutchie with me. She is a house trained Ragdoll but quite boisterous so someone with a pet too might be good, otherwise may adopt again later down track. Let me know if you feel you'd be a nice fit /interested to discuss specifics further. Thanks ^.^ Taleisha
Hello, I am a single working professional. Moved to Canberra for work with APS. I am clean, friendly and social without stretching into others space. Most weekends I drive back to Sydney and weekdays I am mostly away either working or badminton or Gym or meeting friends. Let me know if you have anything suitable. Thanks, Rakesh
I'm a quiet 54 year old, who does not mind a chat. I have a reasonable sense of humour and don't mind a bit of science fiction. I've lived communally in the past, so I know how to share space with others. I do know my way around a kitchen (including how to clean up afterwards). I work full time in the APS and would largely keep to myself.
Im usually the house clown/hermit. Bills, bond & rent always come 1st. I'm happy to socialise but usually keep to myself with my companion dog (gasp, yes dog) She is as housetrained as me atm we are homeless, my Mystiq is my right arm! If she is a deal breaker, please let me know ASAP or when we can meet & greet
i am a happy type of person, neat and tidy to live with and no issue about money or paying bills.I just came from Sydney. Im also easy to be with and can adjust to the surroundings. Also having my own privacy for me is very important. Im working as a full time chef in Lolo and Lola Filipino Restaurant in Watson Shop. Im 34 years old. I've been living in Sydney for 4 yrs, just moved here last monday and staying in a B&B at the moment for a week.. I have a car so yes i need a parking for the night coz i usually at work during day time starts at 830am finished about 11pm and Im usually out during my days off for my casual job. i'm a smoker but i smoke outside of the house and i dont have pets. i have a partner but she's in overseas. she sometimes comes here for a vacation 3 days to a week at the most.. Im looking for atleast 4 months to one year stay in.
Easy to get along with middle aged guy, can hold a conversation if required, or am equally at home just relaxing in front of the tv. Very clean and tidy, and can cook up a storm in the kitchen!
I have lived, worked and studied in more than 4 continents. Loved exploring every inch of the culture and history's of the countries I was residing in. Now working in a field that combines my passions and skills into one and I can make a significant difference in society. In my spare time, I am often hiking, riding my mountain bike, surfing or playing a round of golf. I like to meet new people and hear their unique adventures via a well-prepared curry. Look forward to hearing from you. Cheers, Jack
I'm a proudly omnivorous, non-smoking, communications professional of the straight 40+ male variety who is sans pet. Working as a contractor in Tuggeranong and eager to find a room in a location where the travel time is less of an ordeal. Those hours I'm at home and awake (which aren't many at the moment) will most likely be devoted to pursuing starving literary pursuits (because writing and journalism is SUCH a boom industry right now) but I usually write elsewhere. Basically, an arty-farty wanker with a pesky social conscience I have a passing interest in most sports, but do not have the passion for them I did in the past. Very happy to let housemates keep to their own devices. Just looking for a place that's relatively tidy and relatively quiet.
I have just returned to Canberra after living and travelling through Europe for the last 6 months. I have a small fitness business that keeps me active and looking for a place close to the city as all of my sessions are run around the lake
