Moving down to Canberra from Sydney, I'm looking for a relatively quiet place to live as I expect work to be the majority of my life during the week. Mostly looking to find a nice place with great people. Feel free to message me for more information :)
Working for AFP on contract. just need a place to sleep and will be away every weekend in most cases as family is in NSW.Quiet, clean, easy going, love motorbikes and training and generally having a good time and a laugh.
WHO: I’m planning to move from Melbourne to Canberra soon - I have my eyes on ANU in 2018 so I want to spend the next year working and getting myself set up in Canberra. I’m quiet, independent and prefer to keep to myself. I’m not unfriendly and am happy to chat now and then but I am definitely not a party person. I’m clean, tidy and organised – when you see me around the house it will most likely be when I’m cleaning or in the kitchen preparing my meals for the week. I’m (mostly) vegan, don’t drink or smoke, and I am queer-friendly and pet-friendly. WHAT: I’m looking for a tidy sharehouse that I can come home to after work and on weekends knowing I can relax in peace and quiet. Ideal housemates will be tidy, responsible, and considerate of others. I don’t mind if you drink/smoke/eat meat as long as there’s no smoking indoors or drunkenness, and you don’t hang **** on me about my choices! I am looking for an unfurnished room that can fit a single bed, large chest of drawers, bookcase and desk. I will also need somewhere to park my car and some space in a kitchen cupboard for the bit of kitchenware I have. Internet access is also desirable. I’m hoping not to spend more than $200pw (plus bills) but would consider paying more for the right place. I’m hoping to stay long-term, but will also consider short-term opportunities. WHERE: As a newbie to Canberra I have no preference for area, so don’t be put off if your suburb is not in my list. My priority is finding the right place with affordable rent. WHEN: I can be flexible – hoping for mid- November but it will depend on what happens with work in Melbourne and, of course, when the right place is available. I would consider paying rent earlier than my actual move to secure the right place. HOW: I’m coming to Canberra next weekend (29-30 October) hoping to check out some places on the Saturday, and Sunday if need be. So if you would like to meet me and show me your place, or know more about me, please text or message me by Friday with a bit about your place and why you think I’ll be a good fit, and we’ll go from there. I might not be able to get around to everyone so the more you can tell me, the better!

I am a mature professional female and the other housemate is a male. We are clean, easy going, quiet and respectful of housemates privacy. There is a car parking space available in the lock up garage with additional under house storage. Five minute walk to Erindale shops, 5 minute drive to Tuggeranong town centre, 10 minute drive to Woden. Rent is $200 per week, plus shared expenses. Graduating soon from UTS, Sydney. I am moving to Canberra mid November to start work with a construction company. I am looking for a furnished room in a share house preferably in and around Tuggeranong. November is a fair bit away, so I am happy to look at teamups too. I like to joke around a bit, love a few beers over the weekend. I can hardly cook , not too messy or a neat freak.
Looking for professional, mature person to share large executive-style home with male owner and one other mature person. There is a choice of 2 rooms available, both of which have been redecorated, contain built in robes with plenty of shelving and are of the same size. The decorated bedrooms contain a double bed, bedside table and a chest of drawers. For those who wish to supply their own bedroom furniture there is a choice of an unfurnisfed room of equal size, including the built in wardrobes. The house looks across to the Brindabella mountains, is very well furnished and features a large entertainment deck. The house is convenient to major shopping and entertainment centres, is a 5 minute walk to the nearest bus stop, and is adjacent to a walking trail through Isaacs Ridge nature park. Bills: electricity is solar; gas bills are shared; internet is included,
Great leafy suburb with good views in almost all directions. Has outdoor BBQ, central ducted air conditioning and heating. Large house with three bathrooms (plus an ensuite for main bedroom), two lounge rooms, family room, dining room, two kitchens and laundry. House essentially has two separate living areas. Upstairs (where these rooms are) has all the rooms listed above except two of the bathrooms, one lounge room, one kitchen and the laundry. Walking distance to bus stop, this house is in a cul-de-sac and sits high on a hill. It has multiple fruit trees out back. The more expensive room includes a garage space with remote control access. Room is about 2.96 x 2.93 metres (not including desk and built in wardrobe space). Cheaper room is about 2.76 x 3.10 metres (not including built in wardrobe space). Both rooms can be supplied furnished or unfurnished. If you want to have more than one person in the room, there would be an additional charge to cover the extra utility costs. House has broadband wifi.
The property is situated in a leafy and quiet street in Narrabundah. It is close to shops, major bus routes and within a 10 min drive to the city. The room includes a large built-in wardrobe and can accommodate a queen bed. The property has ducted heating throughout and is fully furnished with lounge, TV, dining table, foxtel, BBQ, washing machine, dryer, fridge and dishwasher. Just bring your bed and room furnishings. There is a single lockup garage to store bulky things like bicycles etc. (currently setup with a small home gym).
Nice house, good backyard with outside furniture 😊 I'm pretty easy going, get along with basically anyone 😊 I do all the cleaning weekly, just expect you to keep communal areas tidy 😊 I have a 2 year old here 11 nights per fortnight, and am open to someone who has a child however do only have the 1 bedroom available
The House We live in a furnished, 3-bedroom home that is less than three years old and within walking distance of Manuka. It is set back off the street for some added peace and a bus stop is a 30 second walk away. If you are looking for a modern property that is close to Barton, Kingston and Manuka, this is the place for you! The house stays naturally cool in the summer and has a split-system heating system for winter. In addition, it has a spacious open plan living area, European style UPVC windows and courtyard with an outdoor dining setting and decent barbie, which is great for summer entertaining. The shared areas are all fully furnished including laundry facilities, kitchen utensils and dining equipment. The Room We have one room available which can fit a queen bed and two bedside tables. It is currently furnished with a queen bed which you are welcome to or, if you have your own furniture, the bed can be removed. The room already has ample storage through a built-in wardrobe. You would be sharing a bathroom with one person (Pat), the other two people share their own ensuite. The Deal We would be signing you on as a boarder contract arrangement rather than on the lease (at least at first). As stated, rent is $195 which includes unlimited internet. Rent is paid fortnightly (and two weeks in advance). We split all electricity and gas bills equally (i.e. 4 ways) while the water bill is fully covered by the landlord. I would also require a 2 week bond. Your Housemates As for us, we are two guys (23 and 31) and one lady (26). I (John) work in the financial services sector while Patrick is working in aged care and Sarah a public servant. Pat loves his powerlifting as well as playing guitar in-between work and studying (Nursing at UC). Sarah is a keen yoga enthusiast and loves walking Red Hill in-between chats. For myself, I am a proud geek who also loves socialising, beer and the EPL. We are all very laid back, easy to live with (or so we think) and share many a fun conversation about anything from the trivial to the meaning of life. We do hang out together pretty regularly and then also share occasional family dinners/movie night. But of course, there are plenty of evenings when all just do our own thing too. Household Stuff Finally, we do like to keep a clean & tidy house. We would like a housemate who is keen for the same approach to shared spaces. Final Words If you're respectful, aged 21 - 40, and interested in having a look, give me (i.e. John) a call, email or message on here and we can arrange a time for you to see the place/room and meet the housemates to get a feel for each other! We look forward to hearing from you! p.s. the room is now available and we are happy to consider people seeking short or long term stays. Unfortunately, our landlord does not allow pets and we ourselves, would not like anyone with children.
Hi everyone! A bit about me... I recently moved to Canberra after living overseas in the UK and Netherlands for a couple of years studying then working with a human rights NGO. I'm originally from Adelaide, but don’t hold that against me! I work in Federal Government, and will be moving back into a humanitarian role in government very soon. I'm very active, and love being outdoors - playing sport, hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding (not well haha). Looking forward to making the most of Canberra’s outdoor scene this summer! I'm a pretty relaxed and outgoing kind of guy, enjoy a drink or two at the pub or over a BBQ or movie night at home but I’m definitely not a party animal. As I’m newish to Canberra, I’m keen to live in a house that feels more like a home. In that regard, I'm looking to start a small but social share house with people who are keen to hang out and socialise, but who are also considerate, and respectful of each other's privacy. I'm ideally looking for either a 2 or 3 bedroom place, with an ensuite bedroom that I could take. I’ve got a few bits and pieces of furniture - though anyone in possession of a fridge or washing machine will be highly regarded! ☺ Anyway, give me a shout if you think I'd be a good fit for your place, or if you're interested in teaming up to find a flat! Cheers, Trystan
