We're two friends university mates who came here for work from abroad, we're organized we like to leave the place as we found it or better, one of us is working full time the other is working casually until he secures a full time job. I am a PhD candidate of geography at the university while working as a tutor and lecturer. Unfortunately I did not arrive in Australia by birth but I've been here for nearly a decade. Formally did sub-letting and Airbnb few years ago so I am a respectful tenant as well as observant to house rule. At this stage, I am quite busying with my teaching and research. Hey! I am a Mechanical Engineer, and a born and bred central Queenslander, moving to start a new career in Sydney mid February and looking to find a place nearby to my work. I will be working in Granville, and am willing to live in the areas listed or similar suburbs. I'm looking to live with students or other professionals. I am clean, tidy and can cook well, and have a good choice of cookbooks for others to leaf through. Quite happy to split food costs with others, as well as household chores and cooking, I have done this before with great success. I'm also currently studying my Masters in Engineering Science. I like my own personal space but am friendly and don't mind a chat over morning coffee/brekky. I come with a Netflix account! I'm an avid home-brewer (I have won several bronzes, silvers and placed 1st and 3rd in state competitions!), I love brewing and am constantly striving to improve what I make, and love exploring the many different styles of beer. I own a 3-tap Kegerator, which holds 3x 20L kegs and I hope to continue brewing in Sydney. The brewery takes up a bit of space, but if worst comes to worst I can modify how much of it I need to fit somewhere with less space. I also love low and slow BBQ, and have my own smoker, and have used this to make my own bacon and American BBQ. I love making things, and have done my own sausages, bacon and other things. I know my home brewing requires a bit of space, and I utilize fridges for temperature control when fermenting - I do own a power-use meter and am happy to have this hooked up to monitor the costs of fridges, and to pay the extra costs to run this. I'd prefer to keep the fridges outside, so I can hose out any messes/spills! I'm also an avid gamer, and foodie. I enjoy multiplayer online gaming, and love food and cooking. I am willing to organise with other prospective housemates to get the best gear to the place. I own the following gear: - Washing machine - Dryer - Large double-door fridge (~520L) with freezer bottom - Projector and surround sound system - 55" TV - high-end NBN-ready modem I have left my preferred timeline at 6 months initially, as I am on a 6 month probationary period, however if all goes well at work, and we all get along, I have no issues extending that out! I also love dogs, I have lived with them most of my life and am open to sharing a place with owners. Lastly - I have let myself go a bit in terms of physical fitness due to long hours at work, but the new job looks to have shorter hours. A housemate who is a bit of a gym rat would definitely be favourable, I need that motivation for the first couple of weeks to get back into things. A gym partner would be fantastic! I eat fairly clean and don't mind cutting things out (to an extent, a cheat day is great for sanity!!)
