Alicia: I am relaxed but do love to chat after a day's work, I am a housemate who is friendly and easygoing at the same time. I will respect your privacy but hope to be on friendly terms with my housemates. I am enthusiastic about good coffee, bike riding, seeing live music and reading. I also have a partner, Tom, who will be visiting for a bit and then living with me after I move to Canberra. He also loves coffee and bike riding and can play the guitar quite well. Tom loves any beer that is brown/strong and purchasing LPs for his record player. He is a vegetarian, but i'm not and will eat almost anything. We will both be full-time professionals who want to make the most of our time in Canberra with weekend trips and socialising. Both of us have been living with 3 other flatmates in Melbourne, with a cleaning roster that we stick to.
I'm 34, work full-time in medical admin; and I'll be commencing part-time study next year. I'm a friendly person and happy to have a chat but I'm quiet most of the time and appreciate my space. I'm more than happy to pull my weight and do housework. I'm respectful of others and their property. In my spare time I enjoy watching movies, reading books and going for walks/bike rides. I'm reliable, clean and tidy and a non-smoker.
Relaxed 22 year old male with a naturally happy disposition seeking place to stay while studying primary school teaching for 4-5 years Into video games, movies and gym, always up for a chat or an impromptu adventure, ideally looking for a place I can feel at home and enjoy the company of the people I am staying with, love standing around having a good yarn about nothing and everything - I don't smoke and I drink occasionally I enjoy boxing for fitness/fun, am a mediocre table tennis and billiards player but make up for lack of skill with enthusiasm as I do with all aspects of life Am an experienced cook and live a clean minimalist lifestyle I have my own car and don't mind driving for a late night kebab run love animals so any home with pets would be well received!
I am a 30-something y/o woman with two adorable indoor cats looking for affordable accommodation while I am looking for work. I have lived in shared accommodation for a good portion of my life, and have always found it easy to get along with my housemates. I am quiet, keep mostly to myself, but don't mind conversation and activities with housemates on occasion. I enjoy RPG games, conversation over wine, reading and other such quiet pursuits. I have furniture for an entire 1 bedroom apartment, but can store anything not required.
I'm Greg 25 yo male, student and business owner, looking for a stable place to rent in Canberra. I enjoy having conversation with housemates and sometimes a drink or two. Clean and respectful, away and busy throughout days.
I am moving to Canberra in late January/early February from Melbourne to commence an APS graduate program on the 6th February. I am looking to move into a share house with other people in their mid 20s. As I am new to Canberra it would be great to live with people I get on with socially as well and don't just keep to themselves. It would be bonus if the people I live with enjoy/tolerate my dad jokes and dry sense of humour. I would like a house that is kept clean in common areas, but I would say I am fairly easy going and I'm not going to yell at you if you haven't got around to doing the dishes yet (as long as you are going do them eventually) or your room isn't spotless. I certainly do not mind a party (preferably at someone else's house) or just a casual sunday drink, but it's sometimes also great to spend a Saturday night chilling on the couch and watching a movie. I would love to cook and share a meal with my housemates once in a while as well. I don't really have many hobbies, I love true crime podcasts and watching tv shows, going for walks and going to the gym. I've been studying for 5 years so maybe I will find some new hobbies now I am free haha. I would like to live in the inner/suburban north but I am open to other areas as long as it isn't too far by bus/car to work in the (north side) city centre. I am hoping to pay $200 a week (or less), but again I am open to up to $250 if the place and people are right. I would also prefer to live in a house/townhouse as opposed to an apartment, as I'd prefer having an outdoor area (even if it is small). Please feel free to message me to ask me anything :)
Generally friendly, easy going, like a chat, equally happy to do my own thing. I've been share housing all my life. I'm a bit of a project girl. Every now and then I get a bee in my bonnet and write a script for a short-film or have a down-home community art-photography exhibition or something. I was once an opera singer, but now I mostly just hum quietly in the shower. I love walking on Mt Majura (the moss was amazing this winter!). I'm looking for one or more mature flatmates, and I'm pretty partial to houses with big north facing windows.
I'm a Graphic Designer originally from rural NSW, now working NewActon with a full time position, I am able to start renting. Ideally looking for somewhere in Inner South or Inner North to be able to ride or walk to work and not have to rely on paid parking, and the juggles of my car each day. Down for socialising and meeting new people, casual drinks etc, but can easily keep to myself with extra design work at home (only if i can fit a desk in my room) or at the office. I'm also trying to get a bit more cooking in for the weekly grind to save costs.
Moving to Canberra from Victoria to work full time. Looking for a place to share. Anything that is reasonably priced and close to Watson where I will be working would be great. I'm clean, cool, fun and hoping to hear from someone soon. I will need a place from January 7. I am particularly interested in teaming up with 1 (maybe 2 max) other person (s) to find a place to share together. Chuck us a message!
Hello! I'm a 28 year old male public servant looking for a room long-term in the Inner North. Looking to share with public servants/professionals/postgrads. I'm a friendly, easy-going sort of person who has lived in a couple of different share houses and knows the importance of keeping common areas clean and respecting other people's space. I'm fairly busy and am out and about a fair bit. But I definitely think it's important to get to know the people I'm sharing my home with and I'd be keen to live with people who like to hang out for a meal or a drink sometimes. Looking forward to hearing from you! Lawrence
Very spacious and comfortable house treated as a family home. Looking for a responsible house mate who is also clean and social. Share with three other fun and social students/workers in their 20s. Hi everyone, My name is Paige (23), From the end of January 2017 I will have 2 rooms available in a private rental (no real estate agent just amazing landlords) in my 3 bedroom house for 12 months. I have lived in Hackett for 3 years and this beautiful light cottage-like house for 2. This is my home and want any future housemates to view it the same. Only 10 minutes drive from the city, 12 minutes (I've timed it) to UC and 13 minutes to ANU. 1 room is a single room for $135 per week. (Can still fit a double or queen bed with a wardrobe or single bed with desk and wardrobe) The second is a double/queen room for $150 per week (double or queen with a wardrobe and desk or dresser) Beautiful cottage like back yard which is mown by gardener's each month. 2 minutes walk from the local IGA, pub and Thai restaurant in a quiet leafy suburb. Solar hot water (so electric bills are pretty damn cheap) Reverse cycle air-conditioning/heating in the living areas. Dishwashe,r fridge and dryer plus basic furnishings included. Plates, cups, cutlery and all the odds and ends covered (just need a TV and washing machine but happy to split the costs for these). Incredibly friendly neighbours. 50M from a large sports oval and only 5 minutes drive to Dickson shops, 5 minute walk to the beautiful Mt Majura nature reserve. Driveway and parking out front easily fitting 1 car per person. Hardwood floors and patio out the back give this house a truly comforting vibe. I am looking for long term housemates to share my amazing home with. I have welcome any gender or sexual orientation, and smoking is permitted outdoors only. I currently have an old, gentle cat, so there is cat fur about, which I will try to keep under control. She is strictly indoors only so there is a closed door rule. (If you don't want the cat in your room, close the door, and be careful coming in and out from outside) I am looking for clean individuals who will pay all rent and bills on time without fail; and I promise you the same in return. Internet is cable to the home (super speedy) at $35 per person and Netflix included. You need to be willing to participate ihousehold chores such as sweeping, emptying dishwasher etc etc and occasionally helping with a bigger clean (helping with the small garden, clean bathroom etc) I am happy with a cleaning roster as that way no one feels they are not doing enough or too much. There is a large lockable shed which you are welcome to use to store whatever you need, or if you have exercise gear you can set it up in there. You must be open minded and non critical of others. Preferrably someone who enjoys a shared dinner or drink and having a chat however I appreciate the introverts among us and quiet types are just as welcome. I myself study full time in the fields of education, literature and sociology. I am not a party hardy kind of girl but I love my wine, going to the pub for pool and a good chat. I work in the renewable energy sector as my primary job and have a passion for art, literature and music. Very open about myself and enjoy the company of others while being tidy, financially organised and love creating weird cocktails just for the fun of it. I will be looking to have inspections in the weeks following Christmas but please let me know if you are interested and we may be able to set something up a little earlier around work etc. Looking forward to hearing from you, if you have any questions just let me know!
Hi there! Looking out for a nice place to live in Canberra towards the end of the year or start of next year. I'll be starting a new job at the Treasury as a policy analyst in February. The house ideally needs to be semi or fully furnished with a parking spot for my car (can be off-street). The room must be well-lit, and can be furnished or unfurnished. I'm a positive, friendly and honest person. I like reading, travelling, and yoga, and also like to keep active by swimming and running. I'd also like to get into cycling, and I'm looking forward to some trips to the snow! My main interests are political economics and international development. I'm quite an easy-going person to live with, and I like to keep things clean and tidy. My partner is living in Adelaide and would occasionally come and visit every 1-2 months on the weekend, so I need to live with housemates who are relaxed in that regard. We don't tend to hang around the house anyway. I'm looking for housemates who I can occasionally spend time with in the evenings and on the weekends. Ideally, my housemates would enjoy having a good chat about the world, and have a good sense of humour. Cleanliness is a must. Please shoot me an e-mail if you have something suitable.
Hi! My name is Jackie, 38 yrs. old. I have a 5 yr. old son. We are from South Korea. I am a Filipino and my son is half Korean. I will be studying in CIT and was in IT career for almost 10 years. I am a very organized person and loves having a clean house. I look younger than my age as many says maybe because I am a happy and friendly person. You can easily get along with me well. My son as also is a very nice and well-behaved kid. It would be fun having him around. We love walking around and see the nature and its beauty. Biking, fishing, picnic is fun.
I currently work full time as an Insurance Adviser and have lived in Canberra my whole life. I am easy going and always up for a laugh but also very much enjoy my own company. I have a pretty low key Mon - Fri routine, but on the weekend am always keen to be social and spontaneous. I am far from OCD but do like common areas to be tidy. I come with a dog, a 10 year old maltese x shihtzu who loves attention and cuddles.
I'm Katie! I'm moving to Canberra for postgrad study after a very exciting gap year abroad. I'm looking forward to starting a new life in Canberra and meeting lots of new people. I did my whole undergrad in Brisbane and I'm ready for a change! Ideally my housemates would be interesting, friendly, open and sociable. Of course I value clenliness and respect too but that sort of goes without saying :D I like to have a good relationship with my housemates and would much prefer open doors and friendship to quiet, formal interactions. Please let me know if you have any rooms available :D
I am 18 years old and looking at studying psychology at ANU next year. i will be moving from Hobart and will be needing a place to stay long-term. i am quiet, independent, hard working, clean and friendly.
Hello! I'll be starting full-time work with the public service in February 2017 and as such am looking for flatmates :) About me - I see myself as a friendly, but pretty relaxed person. I I like to keep active - swimming, cycling, and hiking are things I like to do for fun. I also love to cook and would be open to the occasional shared meal. As a newcomer to Canberra, I'll be keen for a chat over a beer and game for adventures in the CBD or bushland. That being said, I also value privacy and the need to feel 'at home' and comfortable in living situations. You can expect me to be courteous and friendly :) I am looking for two or three relaxed housemates who are happy for a chat. I value open communication, shared housework (roster perhaps?) and tidy shared living areas. Feel free to message me if you're looking to start a share house or in need of a flatmate - would love to meet you!
Hi, I have recently moved from interstate for full-time work in professional services. Looking for a place closer to work, preferably with own room and bathroom, and a car spot. I'm usually in Canberra Mon - Fri only and back home over the weekends. I'm clean, self-sufficient, enjoy my runs around the lake or up Mt Ainslie (if I get the time!), don't mind a drink or two, happy to socialise or keep to myself, and generally easy going.
Hi, i am easy going, respectful of personal space and not afraid pf domestic work. i have been living in share houses for a long time now so can get along easily with new people. I'm full time employed and have never had trouble paying rent or bills.
Hey, I'm John - I'm a jaunty character, who hails from Adelaide. I've just started work as a systems engineer ready for Canberra Phase 2. I pluck the six-string and love beers in sunshine. I'm rather tidy and very organised. I'm social and love meeting new faces, and then subsequently getting to know their names.
I'm interesting with a lot of life experience in the arts. I am a people person. I work as a visitor experience host in the arts. I'm looking for a single male or female over 40 to share with.
Hey, I am 24 years old and from India. I will be studying at the Australian National University. I like to read, listen to music, watch movies and enjoy swimming in my free time. I am respectful, easy going, clean and tidy.
Hi ! I'm a french student in an engineering school in Paris. I am currently in a gap year and after 6 months in Sweden, I will spend 6 months in Canberra for an internship at the CSIRO. I will be working there full time from mid february to the end of july. I'm pretty social but also like to have my own space, I am used to live with flatmates. I am respectful of others and clean! As I will come from France, I won't have any furniture, so I am looking for a furnished room. I am very excited to live in Australia for six months, I hope I'll meet new friends and I am looking for room in a friendly home!
Dearest future flatmates, I'm moving to the nation's capital for work (journo) and am keen to bunker down with some like-minded souls. Ideally, I'm looking for a sharehouse full of young professionals who work hard, but still enjoy a Friday knockoff/midweek red. I’m a Brisvegas boy originally but have spent my post uni years working in Victoria. I'm 25, enjoy a decent movie, page-turner or chingwag, but my first love is sport and getting outdoors (keen snowboarder). I've been lucky enough to do more than my fair share of travel and tend to spend my annual leave exploring somewhere new. I only know one person in Canberra so am keen to meet some new people from all walks of life and will likely play some social sport. What can I bring to the house? - I've lived in sharehouses in Australia and overseas since I was 18 and understand what makes for good vibes and when people need their space. - I make a pretty deadly chicken-bacon carbonara and prefer house cookups over solo couch meals, but appreciate the latter has its place. - On rare occasions I have been known to provide that tricky trivia night answer after pulling out some random (albeit mostly useless) fact. - I can be talked into trying most things, especially new food or checking out gigs of up-and-coming musicians/comedians. Don't hesitate to shoot me questions or hit up any past/present people I've shared a roof with. Cheers potential roomies, ET
I am a winter-loving, foodaholic moving to Canberra to work with the APS. I enjoy cooking, going to markets, playing boardgames and the occasional dinner-party. Although sad to be leaving Melbourne, my gorgeous flat, my family, friends and housemates AND my previous student/barista life behind, I am super excited about this next step and all the amazing people I'll meet and places I'll see!
I'm a student about to start my first year of a PhD at the ANU, studying diseases of plants. Overall, I'd consider myself a reasonable, easy going person. I'm also clean but not obsessive about it. Ideally, I'm looking for a place where I can be friends with the people I'm living with though I'm also happy living with people that like to keep to themselves. I'm a bit of a workaholic so I may be a bit hard to come by during the week but I'm always willing to hang out on the weekends.
Hi, my name is Georgia. Looking to move out around the inner north in early to mid January with a friend (possibly - or just me). Easy to live with, happy & social person yet very busy with work and training on weekdays! I'm an early riser and work as an exercise physiologist. On top of cooking and cleaning etc!
Hi there! I'm a 32 year old Australian, looking for long term accommodation in Canberra. I don't have a car and ride everywhere, so I am looking in suburbs not too far from the university; inner north and eastern suburbs. I'm easy-going, reliable and tidy, and as such looking for similar flatmates. I'm very sociable, and would like to live in a house with like-minded people, with whom I can have a beer, a chat and a laugh. I'm doing a PhD in linguistics at ANU and go away often for my research. I have no pets and I don't smoke, but I do have a cello. If you think we'd be great housemates place please get in touch! Cheers, Alex.
Hey guys, my name is Riley. I am moving down to Canberra from QLD, to work full-time with the APS. I consider myself a clean, easy-going and respectful person who is happy to socialise and spend time by myself, as well. I can pay rent or bond in advance.
From day-to-day, I love to cook, be healthy, practice yoga, go for runs, watch movies, read, and listen to music. Less day-to-day, I enjoy travelling abroad and road-tripping at home. I'm from Canberra, but have lived in the USA as a dual citizen; currently studying human rights and development studies at the ANU while working on the side. Also passionate about the environment and responsible consumerism.
