Jermaine, looking for a place to call home with some people that I would like to eventually call friends! I work Full time, Mon-Fri! Play Rugby union, guitar and just love listening to all types of music! Easy going, keen for a laugh. But also respect others space!
Hi, I am a professional working at ANU and would like to share this lovely house located in Dickson. The house is located in a quiet, convenient location and is very clean. It has two single rooms and one double room, one kitchen, one toilet, one bathroom. The house and bedrooms are fully furnished, also equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, gas heating. The house has a large backyard and garage (fit two cars and some bikes). Dickson center is a 10-minute walk and it takes 8 minutes to get to Canberra City/ANU by bus. We are all friendly students and professional in our 20s and 30s; we enjoy chit-chat at dinner time and sometimes cook hot-pot together as a social bonding. Now we have one large room available from 29th Jan 2017, with large built in wardrobe and sunshine window, equipped with bunk bed (can change to double bed for free if required), desks, chairs, etc., suitable for couples or two friends who want to save money. Of course, you are welcome to bring your own furniture if you want. The rent will be $240/week for TWO people taking the room, and $220 for ONE person. Bonds are four weeks rent. Internet (ADSL2+), water, gas and electricity bills are split which is around $10/w in summer and $20/w in winter. We prefer someone who is student, or young professional, mature, clean and respect other people's privacy. Long term rent is preferred. If you are interested, please leave me a message with a brief introduction about yourself. We are looking forward to meet our new housemates!
Big room available in a two bedroom townhouse in quiet complex. Fantastic location - short five minute walk to the Dickson shops one way and Lyneham shops the other way, bus stop right out front, bike paths go beside our complex, lovely park with large pond across road. Less than 5km to Civic, ANU and city. One full bathroom upstairs and a toilet downstairs. Large kitchen and good sized lounge room with the world's most comfortable massive couch. The room has a large window, triple wardrobe, and heaps of space. Easily fits a queen sized bed, desk, drawers and tv cabinet. House is furnished but the room is unfurnished. Decent sized front patio. Smoking isn't permitted in the house, although I would prefer a non smoker. I currently don't have a wifi plan because I have been away most of the year on fieldwork, but the Canberra free wifi is able to be picked up in the lounge room, and I would be willing to discuss getting wifi connected and to pay half each.
Looking to see what currently available and if there are some people out there roughly around my age looking for a room mate! Okay to move out at any time, just trying to find the right people to live with. Prefer to have the master bedroom with ensuite if possible as I don't particularly like sharing bathrooms which comes from previous times with room mates being grubs (the worst!) Not looking to live too far away from the city or Belconnen and not looking to live on the Southside either, inner south is okay but nothing further (sorry peeps) I work full time as a PA and enjoy sports, online gaming, music, gigs, hanging out at home and good food and drink! I am in a relationship and would like to live together but I know not all places have space for couples but keen to see what's available if not that's totally cool! Please feel free to message me if I suit what you are looking for in a flat mate :)
I am in my final year at ANU, and my friend and I are looking to find a place to live. We are looking for a three bedroom place that is close to ANU but also to Dickson and would love to either find someone with 2 spare rooms or find a roommate to join us in a new house. We are both friendly, clean people who enjoy a chat over wine or a movie but also respect everyones space and need for time alone. Ideally we would like to move in in late November. If you are interested in joining us send me a message
Hey all, I am a pretty going person. Not overly fussed about the noise. I do my fare share of the cleaning and maintenance in the house. Moved to Canberra to study at the ANU. I am working part-time at the ANU as well. Originally an expat kid, grew up in Japan and lived all over Asia/Australia. Currently learning Arabic, but can speak few other languages as well. I love the outdoors, and I go hiking almost every second weekend. I don't mind pets, so that's a non-issue for me. Send me a message if you have place. Cheers
I am an easygoing person, very clean and pretty thoughtful. I will go out of my way to ensure I do not create mess or fuss in the house and I will be studying and working at the same time so will not likely get in peoples way. Looking forward to living with people that are also easygoing and fun loving.
Alicia: I am relaxed but do love to chat after a day's work, I am a housemate who is friendly and easygoing at the same time. I will respect your privacy but hope to be on friendly terms with my housemates. I am enthusiastic about good coffee, bike riding, seeing live music and reading. I also have a partner, Tom, who will be visiting for a bit and then living with me after I move to Canberra. He also loves coffee and bike riding and can play the guitar quite well. Tom loves any beer that is brown/strong and purchasing LPs for his record player. He is a vegetarian, but i'm not and will eat almost anything. We will both be full-time professionals who want to make the most of our time in Canberra with weekend trips and socialising. Both of us have been living with 3 other flatmates in Melbourne, with a cleaning roster that we stick to.
I'm a bubbly and friendly person who is easy to get along with. I keep to myself usually and work Monday to Friday as well as spending time with my friends so, I don't spend a huge amount of time at home. If we make friends though, I would be happy to cook dinner for everyone occasionally and have a drink or two together. I'm clean, tidy and respectful. I'm well organised and am able to work in with the needs of others (eg. Bathroom schedules etc, if required). I'm moving into a share house to save myself some money, as I have been living by myself for a while now. I aim to save and travel or buy my own place. Please note - although I am a smoker, it's generally a social occurrence. Im respectful of others wishes, I don't smoke inside and will only smoke outside the house on occasion if it is okay with others. If not, I can easily go without. It isn't a deal breaker for me.
Hey there! I'm Fateh and I'm a student at ANU. I have another semester of uni left, and am looking for accommodation between February and July of 2017, which is when I graduate, although I may need to extend my lease for a few months. I'm originally from India, and have been in Australia since 2014. I enjoy good music and good company. I like going to the gym and have loved sports since forever. I'm easy to get along with and have a decent sense of humour (I think). If you play any instruments we'll get along nicely! I'm looking for shared accommodation close to the city and if you are too, feel free to give me a shout!
Hi, im leaving my current share house to pet sit for a month or so, and then will be looking for a new home, hopefully somewhere close to the city. I work full-time at a cafe in the city and have vague plans for 2017 but mostly am just cruizing, im a pretty quite person, avid reader and little bit arty. - K
I'm interesting with a lot of life experience in the arts. I am a people person. I work as a visitor experience host in the arts. I'm looking for a single male or female over 40 to share with.
Hi ! I'm a french student in an engineering school in Paris. I am currently in a gap year and after 6 months in Sweden, I will spend 6 months in Canberra for an internship at the CSIRO. I will be working there full time from mid february to the end of july. I'm pretty social but also like to have my own space, I am used to live with flatmates. I am respectful of others and clean! As I will come from France, I won't have any furniture, so I am looking for a furnished room. I am very excited to live in Australia for six months, I hope I'll meet new friends and I am looking for room in a friendly home!
I'm a pretty easy going uni student! I hope to be working full time next year in the city and decided it was time to move a bit closer! I just finished my second year at UC (Industrial Design) and will be studying part time next semester. I'm pretty chatty but also respect privacy/time out. I don't have any pets but also wouldn't mind if housemates did (especially dogs! <3) Also my move in date is pretty flexible anytime around the beginning of 2017 :) Feel free to message me if you have anywhere that you think would work! :) Thanks!!
I am looking for another housemate or 2 to team-up with to rent a place together preferably in the inner north. I am studying secondary teaching in Geography and Languages and hopefully will be working casually in relief teaching next year. I love music, coffee and movies. I have been in Canberra for 5 years and love it!! I ride everywhere and love the opportunities for brunching, riding and hiking in and around Canberra. I would love to introduce a newcomer to the some of the great Canberra experiences. I currently have one other housemate Lara to move in with but we would love to make a share house with others. We are both really considerate people and are up for getting to know some like-minded people. For me it's all about striking the social-private balance. Sharing meals is, in my mind, a great way to do this :) Open to finding a place anywhere from mid-Jan to mid-Feb!
I am a winter-loving, foodaholic moving to Canberra to work with the APS. I enjoy cooking, going to markets, playing boardgames and the occasional dinner-party. Although sad to be leaving Melbourne, my gorgeous flat, my family, friends and housemates AND my previous student/barista life behind, I am super excited about this next step and all the amazing people I'll meet and places I'll see!
From day-to-day, I love to cook, be healthy, practice yoga, go for runs, watch movies, read, and listen to music. Less day-to-day, I enjoy travelling abroad and road-tripping at home. I'm from Canberra, but have lived in the USA as a dual citizen; currently studying human rights and development studies at the ANU while working on the side. Also passionate about the environment and responsible consumerism.
Iam looking for 1x Bed 1x Bathroom 1x Carpark Looking at around January - Fenruary 2017+. A working professional and i'll be mainly at work from 7am to 6pm Monday to Fridays. I am extremely clean, tidy and quiet and trust worthy, a non smoker. Also, will help in keeping the place clean and tidy. Alternatively looking at teaming/ sharing a 2x Bed, 2x Bathroom, Carpark (under cover) Bills to share (internet, Water, Elec.). Message me your details ASAP to discuss further
Hey guys, I'm a recent graduate from the ANU and I work full-time in hospitality. I currently live in a share house with a few friends in Ainslie, and I really enjoy share house living. I love to have meals and hangout with my housemates but I also respect personal space and understand that everyone needs some quiet time to themselves. I love to cook and bake, read, drink wine and hold social gatherings. I'm a generally bubbly and upbeat person who gets along easily with others, and I also love to have a jam in the sun on a sunny afternoon with a couple of bevs! I'm fairly social and pretty relaxed to live with and would love to find some likeminded housemates to live with. Although I am a non-smoker, I don't mind living with smokers as most of my friends are smokers!
I am a young professional. I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I do a lot of exercise in my free time and I enjoy listening to music. I am accommodating and relaxed. I keep the house tidy. Every few weeks I will bring a group of friends around for a taco and board game night.
We are a busy and low key couple. I need a place in Canberra for the duration of my field work for my PhD, otherwise I live in Brisbane. Liam already lives in Canberra so may or may not decide to move in with me (but given that I live on PhD scholarship money another person helps keep my life affordable!). This does mean the couple part is negotiable, based on price. I tend to keep to myself, but like to cook, play board games and read.
Full time worker, wanna-be triathlete and generally sociable human. Moved here from Brisbane in 2016 and still enjoying seeing the sights. Looking to live with 1-2 others, commencing in January 2017.
I'm from Sydney but I'm moving to Canberra in 2017 to start postgrad study at ANU - I'm flexible with my moving date. I'm a mature individual, and I keep everything (but my sock drawer) tidy. I'm easy to get along with and I'm always up for a chat/being social, but am happy to keep to myself in the house if that's the go. I love sports, particularly netball, and am looking to get involved in a new club/team once I move. I'm a music fan (the non-snobby kind), and love to attend big concerts as well as local gigs. I'm open to different locations, though as a Sydneysider who has spent her life traveling and commuting to everything - I'd love to take advantage of the size of Canberra and live somewhere central.
Hey ! I'm French and I'm moving to Canberra for an internship beginning of January. I have been studying in Sydney for a year. I like traveling, hiking, politics, contemporary art, cycling, good food and drinks with friends. I am a clean and respectful flatmate. I would like to find a flat where everyone can have his private space but also sometimes where we can have dinner or casual drinks ! Looking for a flat with a good atmosphere. See you !
I'm moving up to Canberra from Melbourne to start a graduate position at the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare. Looking for a laid-back, chill but tidy and respectful established household. I am a clean, pretty laid-back individual! I love a good Netflix binge, inviting friends over for dinner and drink or two and engaging in a good discussion about current world affairs. Am into films, festivals and gigs and keen to see how Canberra compares to Melbs. Do enjoy hiking, am trying to get active again and love using my bike for commuting. Let me know if you're interested! PS I actually have no photos of me by myself right now, so that's me with my lovely trekking guide in Vietnam.
Hi! My name is Mandira and I am a psychology student at ANU. I am a sociable person who loves to cook. Please let me know in case you have a place that I can rent or if you want to collaborate and find an amazing place. :)
I'm a Graphic Designer originally from rural NSW, now working NewActon with a full time position, I am able to start renting. Ideally looking for somewhere in Inner South or Inner North to be able to ride or walk to work and not have to rely on paid parking, and the juggles of my car each day. Down for socialising and meeting new people, casual drinks etc, but can easily keep to myself with extra design work at home (only if i can fit a desk in my room) or at the office. I'm also trying to get a bit more cooking in for the weekly grind to save costs.
Clean without being weirdly clean, tidy without being annoying. The sort of guy who will sign for your ASOS delivery if you're not home. I'm moving to Canberra for a job in the public service. Looking to move at the beginning of 2017, but I'm happy to pay rent from any time in December that a room is free. Flexible with length of stay, but would ideally be looking for somewhere I can settle for at least 6 months. I'll be coming to Canberra from 3-4 December to look at houses, so please let me know if either of those dates work for you :)
I'm a philosophy PhD student at the ANU. I love hiking, yoga, jazz, and am passionate about environmental issues. Looking for a place with a bit of a community/family spirit about it but where I could also have some privacy and alone time. As a housemate, I'm tidy, quiet, and considerate. No problems paying rent and bills on time. I'm looking for a big-ish bedroom, where I could fit in a queen-sized bed and some furniture. Built-in wardrobe would be a great bonus.
Moving to Canberra from Victoria to work full time. Looking for a place to share. Anything that is reasonably priced and close to Watson where I will be working would be great. I'm clean, cool, fun and hoping to hear from someone soon. I will need a place from January 7. I am particularly interested in teaming up with 1 (maybe 2 max) other person (s) to find a place to share together. Chuck us a message!
