I’m an 18 year old atmospheric science student starting in June and working as a bartender at Wollongong golf club in a permanent part time position with close to full time hours. I’m looking for a room to rent or potentially someone to split rent for a house, anywhere from the northern Wollongong beaches (thirroul and up) to far-south of Sydney (Engadine and down). About me: I am currently living in a hostel while I’m looking for a place to rent before I start uni. I surf on a regular basis and spend a lot of time outdoors. I skateboard, sometimes I go out and catch up with friends for a few drinks but most of my schedule is just work, surf and study. I have my own decked out van and love to take it out for camping trips so I do go away a fair bit. I’m always happy to have a good conversation and be friendly with my housemates. Saying that, I do respect peoples space, and always keep things nice and tidy. My budget is around $250 a week, ideally a bit less, but willing to go a little over if it’s somewhere that’s worth it. I grew up in Melbourne and moved to the Snowy Mountains for work over 6 years ago to work at a hydro energy company. I lived in Canberra for 2 years and moved to Sydney at the start of 2022. I miss the more regional lifestyle and am keen to try living in Wollongong/north of the Gong to get amongst the awesome balance between the beach, mountains and not too far from the city. My mates probably describe me as a very outdoorsy and adventurous person. I love to climb, ride, trail run and just get away for weekends in the van exploring new places. I'm clean and tidy, enjoy sharing a meal but also doing my own thing and having a few drinks whenever is a good time (love a brewery session!). I’ll be away quite a bit often during the week for regional work for a few nights. I am looking at buying a place sometime in the future so looking for something until the end of 2022. I’ve also got a lot of outdoor gear so somewhere with some storage would be an added bonus! I'm heading to Europe on the 10 of June for weeks so I'd prefer to move in early July.
