I have just secured a role in Canberra, as I live in Melbourne at the moment I will require living arrangements in early January 2017. I work in the Occupational health sector. I have been informed that I will be in Canberra on the 19th of December approx. to do a handover with my predecessor for several days before they finish up. I was hoping to have a look at a few properties during this time. Call me to discuss further. Thanks
I am a Canadian chemistry undergraduate student from Ottawa U who will be working in a lab at ANU for six months, starting January. I'm clean, I love cooking and sharing meals, and I want to live with some people who want to show off Australia. I like to run, weightlift, have a beer, and jam out to some great music.
I'm a 21 year old uni student, studying law and as well as working part-time. Next year I will be in my last year of study, so I'm not really concerned where in Canberra I live (so long as I have a house). I also work as a paralegal (yes like Rachel from Suits). I am outgoing, talkative person. Always up for a hang out but also appreciative of space. Also like my living space clean. I'm looking for like-minded people, who don't mind a hang out every now and again. But also appreciate the need for space and quiet when studying. In my spare time I like to hike, scuba dive and generally get out of the house. Hit me up if you want to know more, I never know what to say in these things. :)
Initially from the Gold Coast, studying in Brisbane at UQ and down in Canberra to complete a small amount of study at ANU. At the time I'm intending on moving down I will have just completed (hopefully) a degree in science and will be returning to study after 6 months of travel through Africa.
Quiet, relativity neat and courteous individual looking for a quiet house to rent for extended stay.
Hey! I'm Astrid. I'm moving to Canberra from Brisbane in early January to start working full-time in Parliament House. I've just completed my university degree, studying IT, and am super keen to pursue this new opportunity. Don't let that little '20' next to my name fool you, I think the fact that I'm moving to Canberra for work at my age should say enough about the kind of person I am. I'm a hard worker, though I'm also up for a few casual drinks or meals after work, but I am by no means the partying and clubbing type. I'm really looking forward to having more time to get out and about and exercise, so if you're into rock climbing, road tripping, kayaking, bike riding or whatever else then that's great! I'll be heading down to Canberra on the 3rd of January, but I've generously been given 3 weeks temporary accommodation by my department, so I'm sorted for somewhere to live until the 24th. However, I would really like to spend that time searching for a new place to call home, and would love to come and check out any places or catch up for a couple drinks to meet any new potential housemates. I'm not particular on the length of time, but I'm not looking for short-term accommodation. 4 to 12 months + would be great!
Hey stranger :) I'm an almost 20 yr old student at ANU, currently studying a double degree in Arts/Science after transferring from UniMelb, majoring in Political Science, Economics and Mathematical Economics, and minoring in Applied Statistics (maybe: not quite sure what I'm doing with myself atm :/.) I also work casually in service, so my job, uni work and extra-curriculars keep me pretty active. Looking for a place to move into close to campus, shops etc. for convenience. Have been living away from home self-catered for 3-ish years now, so I'm pretty familiar with this gig. I'm pretty chill and absolutely respect personal space, property etc., so beyond being a bit fussy with cleaning and noise, I reckon I'm pretty easy to live with. I'm interested in almost anything and everything: tennis, rock-climbing, filmmaking, movies, games, photography, music, tech stuff, so I'm a bit all over the place. Needa move by the 31st of Dec at the very latest (possibly later but kinda rough on my end), so if you've got something that works hmu :)
Hey ! I'm French and I'm moving to Canberra for an internship beginning of January. I have been studying in Sydney for a year. I like traveling, hiking, politics, contemporary art, cycling, good food and drinks with friends. I am a clean and respectful flatmate. I would like to find a flat where everyone can have his private space but also sometimes where we can have dinner or casual drinks ! Looking for a flat with a good atmosphere. See you !
Hi future housemates! I am Clare. I’m on an early search-and-secure mission to find a new comfy place to live from late January 2017. About Your Place. It must be warm in Winter! (I really feel the cold!) Otherwise I am quite flexible re; house/unit/etc. I would prefer somewhere with nearby access to ACTION buses and within approx 30mins to Uni Canberra (although I am willing to consider most areas ie; Woden). Over the years I have shared with different genders, a variety of age groups, people from other countries and employed/students, so I know the Etiquette of house-sharing arrangements with a diversity of people. I would enjoy the occasional ‘group’ meal, chatting with other tenants or being independent depending on the vibe in the property. What I Will Bring. I am seeking a reasonable sized room to place a full set of queen size bedroom furniture. I will also bring with me general furniture which I am happy for other housemates to use. (If you have a lock-up shed to place unwanted furniture, that would be ok too.) I also have a lot of great quality kitchen appliances too as I like to cook and bake. About Me. I am a Transgender female and have a 'youthful' personality for my age! Although I like to socialise, I am generally quiet at home. I am a tidy person who cleans up after themselves and is respectful of other tenant's privacy. Sports-wise, I like Bikram Yoga, Badminton and Swimming. I'll be studying a Bachelor of Health Sciences at the University of Canberra next year. There is the possibility that I may work fulltime and study part-time if the perfect job falls my way over the next few months. At this stage, I will need to move into a new place from 21st or 28th January. I should be back in Canberra from approx 14th Jan for inspections, etc. Contact me if you have any questions ...
I am a phd student of philosophy and arrived to Canberra one year ago from Mexico. I am very easy going and social so I am looking for a place that feels more like a family than just shared house. Having meals together and hanging out is more important than anything else. Hope to met you soon!
My name is Molly and I am a science student from Sydney moving to Canberra for a few months for a training program. I am looking for a room in a clean and comfortable house with friendly housemates. I like cooking, music and having a drink after work so somewhere a bit social would be great. I am looking to stay from late December to the end of February.
I'm an incoming PhD student at UNSW Canberra. I'm moving from Chicago, so I don't know anyone (although I have friends in Sydney). I'm very social and will probably want to throw small get-togethers every now and then. Very good about chores and dishes and whatnot. Tidy enough without being a neat freak. I'm a pretty decent cook and I'm enthusiastic about sharing my food. I'm ok with pets but I don't mind a non-pets place.
I'm a third-year ANU student. I love great chats but also personal space. I'm really tidy and am keen for to take part in the cleaning roster or anything like that. I'm a department officer at the ANU Students Association so will have a steady income to pay fortnightly/monthly rent.
I am a 21 year old ANU student who also works in the public service. A bit about myself, I enjoy socialising and hanging out with friends. However I do also enjoy spending time to myself, so a balance is good. I'm pretty chilled as long as the basic stuff in a house gets done like bills being paid, and so on.
I am from Sydney and I will be moving to Canberra to start an APS job. I enjoy socialising but also my down time and love a good cup of coffee! I like to get out on the weekends and explore the city, especially bush walking and swimming to keep fit. Having lived out of home for a number of years I know how to look after myself. I'm tidy and respectful especially in shared spaces. I love animals and would be more than happy to share with someone with pets although I don't have any myself.
I am a full time working professional. I am a very chilled out, clean and friendly guy. Always up for a chat and I also respect the privacy and personal space of others, and expect the same. I will be working 5 days a week and I don't really sit at home on weekends. I play little bit of guitar and other instruments, so if you are a musician then we're going to have good time! I like sports and yoga. I am very open minded and accepting in nature. I have been living in a beautiful house in Turner from past 6 months. Unfortunately the owner want's to move-in. I would like a change now so looking for an apartment near to CBD. Would like live with a flatmate who is up for chat sometimes after work with a beer of sth, cook together sometimes, have dinner together. I would like to be in a friendly environment when I am home. :-)
Hi, I'm Chris, a 22 year old student from Sydney whose moving to Canberra to commence a Bachelor of Nursing. I formerly lived in a 40 person Housing Co-operative in Sydney called Stucco. Stucco has taught me the value of living in communal spaces, so I very interested in finding somewhere that is lively and homely.
I am a Graphic Design student in my final semester. I have lived in student accommodation for 3 years so I know how to live with people. I will spend most of my time at work, at uni or on Netflix.
We are a busy and low key couple. I need a place in Canberra for the duration of my field work for my PhD, otherwise I live in Brisbane. Liam already lives in Canberra so may or may not decide to move in with me (but given that I live on PhD scholarship money another person helps keep my life affordable!). This does mean the couple part is negotiable, based on price. I tend to keep to myself, but like to cook, play board games and read.
Hey guys, My name is Nel and I'm 21yrs old. I am urgently looking for a place to move in to. I'm a pretty chilled guy and would be happy to sit down and chat, watch movies, dinner, have a beer... whatever housemates do. I go to the gym a lot after work so I won't be in the house every second. I don't really drink alcohol so if the crew needs a designated driver, I'm your guy lol I'm also a carpenter so if anything needs fixing around the house, id be able to fix it. Let me know if you need more info. Give me a call or text Thanks

I have just accepted my offer into the Master of Economics at ANU, and am looking for accommodation around uni. I am currently scheduling the move to Canberra for the first week of February, but am flexible if you would prefer earlier/ later. A bit about me: I am 23, and completed my undergrad in 2015 from the University of Sydney, majoring in Political Economy and International Relations. I grew up in Pakistan, and moved to Australia in 2011. I am half Australian and half Pakistani (have passports from both countries). I have been sharing with my housemates in Sydney since March last year, and have grown to love them very much. I know when to keep to myself, but also like being able to come home and share the occasional dinner/drinks. I clean up after myself always, and contribute to the household regularly. I am easy going, and will be working part time and studying the rest of the time.

Hi everyone! We are a couple making our way down to Canberra to find a place we can call home! At the moment we both live on the Gold Coast and have just graduated university and been offered jobs down the capital! We are a very easy going couple, 34 & 27 yrs old who enjoy the outdoor life but also a night at home watching Netflix. We both will be working full-time in our new professions and planning to spend the weekends outdoors! We are looking for a room to rent for approx 3-6 months while getting comfortable in the new city. Most suitable would be a ensuite (but our own bathroom would be just fine). We will be arriving in Canberra around the 8th of January and hoping we could move in straight away :) If you want to live with a very easy going couple don´t hesitate to contact us! Send me an email Hope to hear from you soon!
From day-to-day, I love to cook, be healthy, practice yoga, go for runs, watch movies, read, and listen to music. Less day-to-day, I enjoy travelling abroad and road-tripping at home. I'm from Canberra, but have lived in the USA as a dual citizen; currently studying human rights and development studies at the ANU while working on the side. Also passionate about the environment and responsible consumerism.
Hi all! My name is Laura, I am a postgraduate student obtaining my Masters in Globalisation at ANU. I am originally from the United States, but am quite familiar with Canberra as this will be my second year of uni. I am looking to move closer to the city as right now I feel I live too far, and my modes of transportation do not get me there and back fast enough. Ideally, a 10-minute bike ride is as far as I would have to go. I am clean, tidy, and friendly. I enjoy cooking, socialising, wine, game nights, and some down time. I am looking for a place to call home ideally with individuals who want to be more than just roommates and enjoy some socialising. Looking to move in end of January/early February. Please contact me for this listing through message as I am out of the country until the new year! Thank you!
I am a clean, friendly and relaxed housemate. I've been living in sharehouses for four years so I'm fairly used to it too! I'm a 23 year old public servant who moved to Canberra earlier this year from Melbourne, though I'm originally from Perth. In terms of hobbies, I enjoy reading, baking, binge watching Gilmore Girls, hiking, and photography.
Hey guys, my name is Riley. I am moving down to Canberra from QLD, to work full-time with the APS. I consider myself a clean, easy-going and respectful person who is happy to socialise and spend time by myself, as well. I can pay rent or bond in advance.
My name is Emmet Murphy. I'm 26, from the south of Ireland, and left the Irish Defence Forces to come to Australia to start a new life here. I lived in Canberra for 6 months this year before I left for QLD for a few months to complete regional work for a second year visa. I'm now back, and looking for a nice place to set up in for the foreseeable future. I'm a very clean person, quite tidy, enjoy private and social time in equal measure, and just an all round decent person to live with if I do say so myself. I can provide a reference from my previous housemate in Canberra if desired.
Hi potential new housemates I am an Aussie who grew up in Perth and has spent the last 2.5 years roaming the world travelling, doing odd jobs and volunteering. i have decided it is time to be a physio again and have found myself a part time job in Florey starting January 23rd 2017. I am house trained, come with many a fabulous story and enjoy hanging out, cooking together, dance, hiking, picnics and playing outside. Let me know if you think I would be a good fit in your household. Cheers Avila
Hey there, I'm a 22 year old professional male who's moving to Canberra from Sydney in mid January. I'm laid back, tidy and a decent cook and I'm fairly active and I don't mind socialising over a drink or a meal, but I'll respect your privacy. I'm looking for a medium to long term place that's farily close to Civic. Cheers, Mithun
Hi there, I'm looking to move out of my current sharehouse. I'm a security guard, I have a good job have no problems sharing bills ect. I have a cute little staffy. She stays here for a few months then I take her home for a few months. Like shared custody 😊 (With my mum) I'm a really relaxed person but I do work nights so hopefully that's not a problem? And I like my room to be mine. Other than that I wash up after myself and don't leave my washing in the machine for days lol. And I totally will buy TP before the house runs out lol. If I sound like you're type of person let me know 😊
I'm a quiet, private professional person looking to get settled in Canberra before I find my own place. I go to bed early and get up early most days for a run or a bike ride. I'm moving from Darwin to start work in Canberra on January 16. My party days are behind me, but I like good conversation.
Dearest future flatmates, I'm moving to the nation's capital for work (journo) and am keen to bunker down with some like-minded souls. Ideally, I'm looking for a sharehouse full of young professionals who work hard, but still enjoy a Friday knockoff/midweek red. I’m a Brisvegas boy originally but have spent my post uni years working in Victoria. I'm 25, enjoy a decent movie, page-turner or chingwag, but my first love is sport and getting outdoors (keen snowboarder). I've been lucky enough to do more than my fair share of travel and tend to spend my annual leave exploring somewhere new. I only know one person in Canberra so am keen to meet some new people from all walks of life and will likely play some social sport. What can I bring to the house? - I've lived in sharehouses in Australia and overseas since I was 18 and understand what makes for good vibes and when people need their space. - I make a pretty deadly chicken-bacon carbonara and prefer house cookups over solo couch meals, but appreciate the latter has its place. - On rare occasions I have been known to provide that tricky trivia night answer after pulling out some random (albeit mostly useless) fact. - I can be talked into trying most things, especially new food or checking out gigs of up-and-coming musicians/comedians. Don't hesitate to shoot me questions or hit up any past/present people I've shared a roof with. Cheers potential roomies, ET
Hi there my name is Shanae and I’m planning to move to Canberra from Melbourne in the second week of January for a graduate position starting on the 6th of February. I recently graduated from a forensic science and criminology degree so I love all the crime shows and can provide some super interesting and often gross facts if that’s what you’re into. I love being able to come home and chat with housemates, cook a meal together, have a drink and be social but I also value and understand solo time. I love the odd social gathering but I also love being able to have a Saturday night in curled up on the couch with a movie. I am extremely respectful of people’s personal space and possessions and as such I expect the same in return. I have a potential housemate already, Shanishta who will be doing her masters but we would love a third housemate to join us. We are both super laid back and friendly as well as desperate to make new friends as we are so far from home. We met through a mutual friend recently so if you are interested don’t fret about third wheeling an age old friendship (although we do get on like a house of fire). We’d like someone in a similar life position, easy to talk to and hopefully in or around their 20s. Not bothered by gender. We are focusing our house hunt in Braddon but are also happy with surrounding suburbs. We’re aiming to keep the price range at or under $200 each per week but for the right house or with included furniture we are happy to be flexible If you have a place already with 2 free rooms, we would also be interested in that as well. Feel free to contact me if you are at all interested
Hi, my name is Georgia. Looking to move out around the inner north in early to mid January with a friend (possibly - or just me). Easy to live with, happy & social person yet very busy with work and training on weekdays! I'm an early riser and work as an exercise physiologist. On top of cooking and cleaning etc!
Hey guys I'm Blake 26 moving down to Canberra to start a new job working full time +study. I like to get out and explore where I am living especially if I can take my year old kelpie Peppa so I'm looking for an animal friendly place. Big foodie love going out for dinner or brekky and a coffee. I am pretty easy to get along with come from a Navy background so use to being stuck in small spaces with lots of different people. Happy to join in and share meals/cooking or to just cook for myself, don't mind having "family" dinners every so often either
I am moving to Canberra in late January/early February from Melbourne to commence an APS graduate program on the 6th February. I am looking to move into a share house with other people in their mid 20s. As I am new to Canberra it would be great to live with people I get on with socially as well and don't just keep to themselves. It would be bonus if the people I live with enjoy/tolerate my dad jokes and dry sense of humour. I would like a house that is kept clean in common areas, but I would say I am fairly easy going and I'm not going to yell at you if you haven't got around to doing the dishes yet (as long as you are going do them eventually) or your room isn't spotless. I certainly do not mind a party (preferably at someone else's house) or just a casual sunday drink, but it's sometimes also great to spend a Saturday night chilling on the couch and watching a movie. I would love to cook and share a meal with my housemates once in a while as well. I don't really have many hobbies, I love true crime podcasts and watching tv shows, going for walks and going to the gym. I've been studying for 5 years so maybe I will find some new hobbies now I am free haha. I would like to live in the inner/suburban north but I am open to other areas as long as it isn't too far by bus/car to work in the (north side) city centre. I am hoping to pay $200 a week (or less), but again I am open to up to $250 if the place and people are right. I would also prefer to live in a house/townhouse as opposed to an apartment, as I'd prefer having an outdoor area (even if it is small). Please feel free to message me to ask me anything :)
I am a winter-loving, foodaholic moving to Canberra to work with the APS. I enjoy cooking, going to markets, playing boardgames and the occasional dinner-party. Although sad to be leaving Melbourne, my gorgeous flat, my family, friends and housemates AND my previous student/barista life behind, I am super excited about this next step and all the amazing people I'll meet and places I'll see!
I'm a student about to start my first year of a PhD at the ANU, studying diseases of plants. Overall, I'd consider myself a reasonable, easy going person. I'm also clean but not obsessive about it. Ideally, I'm looking for a place where I can be friends with the people I'm living with though I'm also happy living with people that like to keep to themselves. I'm a bit of a workaholic so I may be a bit hard to come by during the week but I'm always willing to hang out on the weekends.
I'm very polite, tidy and always friendly. I'm often quiet and sensible though I have a great sense of humour. I've been told that I'm very chill and easy going, though I'm very organised and hard working. I'm starting uni at CSU next year and need a first home! Thanks! :)
Hi there! I'm a 32 year old Australian, looking for long term accommodation in Canberra. I don't have a car and ride everywhere, so I am looking in suburbs not too far from the university; inner north and eastern suburbs. I'm easy-going, reliable and tidy, and as such looking for similar flatmates. I'm very sociable, and would like to live in a house with like-minded people, with whom I can have a beer, a chat and a laugh. I'm doing a PhD in linguistics at ANU and go away often for my research. I have no pets and I don't smoke, but I do have a cello. If you think we'd be great housemates place please get in touch! Cheers, Alex.
Hi ! I'm a french student in an engineering school in Paris. I am currently in a gap year and after 6 months in Sweden, I will spend 6 months in Canberra for an internship at the CSIRO. I will be working there full time from mid february to the end of july. I'm pretty social but also like to have my own space, I am used to live with flatmates. I am respectful of others and clean! As I will come from France, I won't have any furniture, so I am looking for a furnished room. I am very excited to live in Australia for six months, I hope I'll meet new friends and I am looking for room in a friendly home!
I am 25 years old, will be moving from Sydney to Canberra in December for work reasons. I am a high school teacher, outgoing and open to making new friends! Love my down time, but also love a wine on a Friday night and going out :) Would prefer 1 housemate, but open to 2 as well. Am pretty open to living where ever in Canberra (everywhere is pretty close)- but preference is for an apartment.
I'm neat, tidy and can make some mean banana bread. Full time student studying to become a highschool teacher!
I am a law graduate from Melbourne and I'm moving to Canberra In late January to commence a full time APS graduate program. I'm hoping to be able to move in with some fellow graduates or people in their early to mid twenties but I'm pretty flexible. I'm an easy going and sociable guy and given that I'll be new in Canberra and keen to meet new people, I'd love to live with outgoing people who enjoy raving parties as well as laid back Sunday sessions or group dinners every once in a while. I'll be working full time so I won't be home much but I can cook and I pride myself on my tidiness. I'll also have a car with me which I'd be more than happy to share to make life easier. In terms of hobbies I really enjoy skiing and rugby league and, as a native Queenslander, you'll find me completely decked out in maroons gear during the state of origin season! I also enjoy the gym and the outdoors. Due to my workplace being in Barton, I'm hoping to secure a property on the Southside preferably around Kingston or Griffith. Ideally I'd like to spend $250 per week, however if the property/people are top notch then I'd be happy to increase up $280-300 per week. Looking forward to hearing from you!
