Hi! I'm moving from Brisbane to Canberra and the beginning of February for a full time engineering graduate position. As I don't know anyone in Canberra (yet!), I am hoping to find a share house with people I can be friends with. I am fairly flexible with length of stay, with ideally a minimum of 6 months. I'm a very easy going, sociable and friendly person who likes living in a tidy, happy place. I love getting out of the house, especially on weekends (pretty excited to try skiing...), but also love spending nights in binging Netflix, reading a good book or just chilling out. I respect people's privacy, the home and will always help out with cleaning. Look forward to meeting you! Cassie
Hi there! I’m an IT professional working for a city based law firm. I am friendly, approachable and easy to get along with. I like to cook and always like to keep things clean, neat and tidy. I like to socialise and meet new people, but value "me time" and relaxation. I'd prefer a night in over a night out, though I enjoy the occasional fun night out with good people. I'm a bit of a gamer and tech head, but also love to get outside in the sun and be active. Having my own car makes getting around easy and I bus to and from work. Location and moving in dates are flexible as is the length of stay. Ideally looking for somewhere longer term.
Hi there My name is Danielle, I’m a 33yo single lady relocating from the far south coast of NSW for work. I am very interested in a room with either an ensuite or my own bathroom. I have excellent rental references, secure full time employment, always pay bills on time, very clean, no fuss, respectful of privacy, friendly and easy to get along with. I have lived in share houses before & know the drill :) Keen to make some new friends and explore all Canberra has to offer! I am fairly quiet by nature, enjoy brunch with friends, quiet drinks occasionally (not the type to bring the party home though), grabbing a bargain or two at local markets, watching Netflix, reading a good book with a cuppa. I am also keen to improve my overall health, so would be looking to spend some time at the gym. I am looking to move to Canberra around 10-15th of February and initially seeking a 6month contract. If you have a room available and you would like to meet with me, Saturday’s would work best as I am 3hrs south at the moment and still currently working full time hours - but happy to work out another day if that would suit you better :) Hope to hear from you soon, take care Dani
Hi everyone! I'll be moving to Canberra in early Feb to start a role with DFAT, and am looking for a room in a clean and cosy house/townhouse/apartment in Braddon or surrounding suburbs. I am a 25 year old lawyer, currently living in Melbourne. I am pretty social so will often be out and about, but otherwise can be found doing yoga, playing hockey, cooking, doing a spot of volunteering, going to gigs or having a glass of wine and listening to music at home. If wanted/needed, I come with kitchen goods, a medium-sized TV, a record player/speakers, a fledgling vinyl collection and lots of pretty plants. I am looking for mature and social housemates who are clean and neat. I have a partner that will be visiting from Melbourne approx. one weekend per month, so am looking for housemates that wouldn't mind the occassional house-guest (staying in my room, of course). Equally, I plan to fly back home every few weekends, so won't be at home all the time. I am definitely looking for a place that is a 'home' - in my ideal world, that would be somewhere that has a bit of character and quite a bit of room, with a balcony/terrace/outdoor area (ie. room for a herb garden!). Move-in date is flexible - I am looking to move in early Feb, but would be happy to cover rent earlier for the right place.
Hey guys and gals, my mate Mitch and I are looking for people to team up with to find a new place in north bris In early feb. I’m 24 just graduated masters of architecture and looking for a cool house mate that will be clean and fun to live with, engage in intelligent conversations but also talk an equal amount of shit with. We need an atmosphere at home where We can chill out and be ourselves and sink bulk beers every now and then. Open minds are encouraged and positive attitudes are a must. We love playing music in the mornings to start our day and We’re always up for activities. We have found a few places that we’re keen on but haven’t locked in anything yet. We’re looking in Paddington, Auchenflower, Toowong, Red Hill, Kelvin Grove looking to pay around $600 a week split between 3 or 4 people. If you’re interested we can arrange a meet up and go from there! We also have a fridge and furniture, washing machine dryer, toaster etc Mitch mobile
I have lived in Canberra for four years and am living in Unilodge right now. I have stayed in my 7- bedroom share apartment for three years and I passed every cleaniess inspection. Moreover, I maintain a good relationship with all my roommates, both gentlemen and ladles. In addition, I also paid all my rent on time and have a sufficient deposit to pay my future rent at least for three years
Let me try to give you a bit of an idea of who I am in a few sentences. I'm a guy, 26 years old. I"m coming up to Canberra from Melbourne to do my Masters of Clinical psychology, which starts on the 22nd of January. I've got a feeling that in the first few weeks I'll be pretty caught up with Uni, as the course starts with two weeks of intensive units (9-5 mon-fri). I've sorted myself out some temporary accommodation in Ainslie until the 17th of Feb, then i'd like to find somewhere permanent. Here in Melbourne, I've just finished up working for a company that does psychological services for offenders with drug and alcohol problems. Before that, the last few years I've been studying Philosophy/Psychology and working various hospitality jobs. I'm interested in philosophy, psychology, politics and music. I love gardening (i'll be sad to not see my strawberries bear fruit before I leave), riding my bike around (with a degree of caution) and spending time with mates (hoping to make a few more when I get up to Canberra). Like everyone else on this website, I'd like to meet and live with people who are open and friendly. I appreciate having a good conversation while brewing a coffee in the morning and some friendly banter over a beer at night. However, of course, there will be times where I need to buckle down and study. Looking forward to moving to a new city and meet new people. Hit me up if you have any questions.
We love to keep the house clean and basic hygiene will be well taken care of. Mold is not our friend. Healthy home cooked food, anyone? And more healthy cakes/ muffins for treats? Organic herbs in pot such as mint, apple mint, parsley, chives? Organic vegetables in pot such as tomatoes, potatoes, spinach? Organic and sweet raspberries in pot? We are quite energy efficient, only used heating for a few hours at most in the evening during winter and used aircon to cool down the room when it is real hot. And the best way to cool down is a cold shower for us. Rarely has visitors or even stay over as we prefer to meet friends/ families in Melbourne. I am a trained counsellor while David is very sociable and works in Geoscience Australia. Furnishings we have to share on top of our room furnishings: Indoor: 23" TV with TV Box, Indoor Antenna, HP Envy printer, a foldable dining table, microwave, crock pot, rice cooker, kettle, vacuum cleaner etc. Optional: Outdoor: White table with 3 chairs, outdoor umbrella, umbrella stand. Garden: Shovel, garden fork, manual lawn mower, leaf blower. We do prefer house mates who are respectful to others, easy going and clean up after themselves.
We have both recently graduated from university, and will be starting full time work in 2018 (Bridget as a vet tech and Bec in the legal industry). We are both easy going, social people who like to live in a clean and tidy space. We are interested in fitness and health and on weekends we enjoy getting outside or catching up with friends, we also enjoy cooking. Ideally we are looking for another person to team up with us and find a house or townhouse. We also have quite a bit of furniture (including a fridge and washing machine). If you think you would be a good fit, please send us a message!
I am clean and tidy. I always pull my weight with house work and pay my bills on time. I enjoy cooking, baking, craft projects, board games and curling up with a book and a cup of tea. I am often up for a chat but also like my privacy.
Returning to Canberra, after 7 years of living/working as an R.Nurse, in the ACT. I will be visiting family & friends for about a month (from mid January) and expect to be away from where I’m staying about 80% of the time. Perfect housemate Eh!? Have references from previous rental properties. Adventuresome, fun, very clean, rent paid on time, very experienced housemate who’s co-operative and carries her weight. Hopefully you’ll e-mail to further discuss.
Hello! I'm originally from Geelong in Vic I'm going into my third year of International Relations, i'm fairly busy with work and study so I guarantee i'll be a respectful roommate. I work alongside uni in hospitality, and i'm always up for a coffee and a chat with friends :) *Can be flexible with move dates*
Hi future flatmates! My names Katie and I'm a 22 year old second year fashion student at QUT. Im currently looking for a single room, or to team up for a share house, preferably walking distance to the Kelvin Grove campus. I lead a pretty busy lifestyle spending most of my time working, studying or socialising. On my days off I'll most probably be outdoors or at the beach, and regularly head out to gigs on the weekend with mates. I love being creative and making clothes & jewellery, so I would love to have a room big enough to fit a decent sized desk with my sewing machines! I love to hang out and make friends so I have no problem with gatherings/drinks on the weekend, however I do enjoy time to myself so I am always considerate of other people's space. I'm super tidy and organised and will probably do a lot of extra cleaning, I also don't think Ive ever missed a bill in my entire life! Please hit me up if you think you've got the right place, or if you'd like to team up to start a new share house :) Im heading to Melbourne from the 23rd-7th feb, but as soon as I am back I need to move out before the 13th so anything starting from the 1st of Feb onwards would be ideal. Look forward to hearing from you!
Hi i'm Steph. I'm 20 and I'm a full-time student in my final year studying Fashion and Business at QUT in Kelvin Grove and the City. I'm a friendly, considerate, open-minded and very tidy gal. I mostly keep to myself although i'm always down to have drinks and chats. If i'm not working or studying I enjoy cooking, reading, good music, getting outside, or spending time with friends :)) I'm hoping to find some great humans (of similar age) to start a sharehouse that's welcoming and sociable. I need to find somewhere in the surrounding-ish suburbs of the city. Thanks!
Hi :) I'm a postgrad student at ANU, and also work as a tutor. I did my undergraduate degree in archaeology, but have now somehow ended up in medical research. I've lived in heaps of share houses, and am now looking for somewhere with only one or two other people. I am a considerate housemate, always up for a chat or to try something new, but also totally respect that home is where people just need to chill. I love cooking (vegan) so you can expect yummy food! Looking for somewhere near ANU
I am a public servant who is also pursuing his CPA (Chartered Accountant) program. I am pretty much busy with my full time work and studies. A quiet person, who also values housemates privacy. Like to keep myself neat and tidy. Thats just a little bit about me...
Looking for a home for myself and my Kelpie Beau, we are moving back to Canberra after living in QLD. I have a job transfer with work full time Monday-Friday as a Case Worker. I adopted my dog Beau from the Animal Welfare League, he is 6 years old and is my running buddy. He would prefer a backyard to chill in during the day (doesn't need to be a big space) and prefers to sleep with me inside at night if possible. Happy to negotiate options, for example in my current home Beau sin't allowed in the living room which has new carpet and he understands this rule. We both have references too. Beau is a super friendly dog and loves cuddles with everyone. He is very well behaved, he is not destructive and loves the company of other furry friends. I enjoy spending time outdoors running, hiking and camping. I am social and love a chat, I am neat and tidy and happy to contribute to cleaning the house regularly. Please get in touch if you think your place might suit! :) Cheers Gemma.
My name is Joel and I work full-time in Finance whilst also studying a Bachelor online. I work 9-5pm weekdays and in my spare time I study or I like to watch movies. I'm neat, quiet, don't smoke and I also pay all of my bills on time. I work in West End and I drive so the commute and parking arrangements are a deciding point for me, however I'm flexible on other amenities/factors. I come with my own bedroom furnishings. My current lease ends Feb 16th, however, it's doable to move in a few weeks earlier for the right property. Thank you.
I grew up in Brisbane, and relocated to Sydney in July 2017 for work, and have now decided to move to Canberra to study my Masters. At this stage I'm not sure what my working arrangements will be, but I am a lawyer, so I will be engaged in at least part time work during normal working hours in Canberra. I currently live in a four bedroom share house in Redfern, and have loved my experience here. I count my housemates among my closest friends. I'm usually always up for a chat, but completely understand the need for space. Let me know if you think I might be a good fit for your house!
Hi, I'm Kate. I'm originally from Newcastle but moved to Canberra in Feb 2017. I'll be starting my second year at the ANU studying a double degree in International Relations and Criminology. I work at an Irish pub in Civic so I work most evenings and Saturdays. When I have time between work and uni, I like to have a wine in the evenings and catch up with friends. I'm laidback, genuine and friendly and would enjoy a chat at the end of the day or the odd meal together every now and again. I respect people's privacy, the home and would be more than willing to pull my weight in cleaning. Looking forward to speaking with you - Cheers : )
