I have just secured a role in Canberra, as I live in Melbourne at the moment I will require living arrangements in early January 2017. I work in the Occupational health sector. I have been informed that I will be in Canberra on the 19th of December approx. to do a handover with my predecessor for several days before they finish up. I was hoping to have a look at a few properties during this time. Call me to discuss further. Thanks
I am a Canadian chemistry undergraduate student from Ottawa U who will be working in a lab at ANU for six months, starting January. I'm clean, I love cooking and sharing meals, and I want to live with some people who want to show off Australia. I like to run, weightlift, have a beer, and jam out to some great music.
Moving to Canberra from Victoria to work full time. Looking for a place to share. Anything that is reasonably priced and close to Watson where I will be working would be great. I'm clean, cool, fun and hoping to hear from someone soon. I will need a place from January 7.
I'm a 21 year old uni student, studying law and as well as working part-time. Next year I will be in my last year of study, so I'm not really concerned where in Canberra I live (so long as I have a house). I also work as a paralegal (yes like Rachel from Suits). I am outgoing, talkative person. Always up for a hang out but also appreciative of space. Also like my living space clean. I'm looking for like-minded people, who don't mind a hang out every now and again. But also appreciate the need for space and quiet when studying. In my spare time I like to hike, scuba dive and generally get out of the house. Hit me up if you want to know more, I never know what to say in these things. :)
I am an easy-going person who is currently staying in Adelaide and looking for a place to stay in Canberra for my industry placement. I love to socialize with friends and meeting new people all around the world. I love to adventure and love being tidy.
Hi, Just looking for a place in Queanbeyan. I'm a socialable and easy going person. I'd like to live with someone who I could hang out with and have a couple of drinks with at the end of the day but I'm fine living with someone who just likes to do their own thing. I do play guitar but will absolutely be respectful of the noise levels. Apart from that, I'm just looking to a put a roof over my head and meet new people.
Quiet, relativity neat and courteous individual looking for a quiet house to rent for extended stay.
Hey! I'm Astrid. I'm moving to Canberra from Brisbane in early January to start working full-time in Parliament House. I've just completed my university degree, studying IT, and am super keen to pursue this new opportunity. Don't let that little '20' next to my name fool you, I think the fact that I'm moving to Canberra for work at my age should say enough about the kind of person I am. I'm a hard worker, though I'm also up for a few casual drinks or meals after work, but I am by no means the partying and clubbing type. I'm really looking forward to having more time to get out and about and exercise, so if you're into rock climbing, road tripping, kayaking, bike riding or whatever else then that's great! I'll be heading down to Canberra on the 3rd of January, but I've generously been given 3 weeks temporary accommodation by my department, so I'm sorted for somewhere to live until the 24th. However, I would really like to spend that time searching for a new place to call home, and would love to come and check out any places or catch up for a couple drinks to meet any new potential housemates. I'm not particular on the length of time, but I'm not looking for short-term accommodation. 4 to 12 months + would be great!
Hey stranger :) I'm an almost 20 yr old student at ANU, currently studying a double degree in Arts/Science after transferring from UniMelb, majoring in Political Science, Economics and Mathematical Economics, and minoring in Applied Statistics (maybe: not quite sure what I'm doing with myself atm :/.) I also work casually in service, so my job, uni work and extra-curriculars keep me pretty active. Looking for a place to move into close to campus, shops etc. for convenience. Have been living away from home self-catered for 3-ish years now, so I'm pretty familiar with this gig. I'm pretty chill and absolutely respect personal space, property etc., so beyond being a bit fussy with cleaning and noise, I reckon I'm pretty easy to live with. I'm interested in almost anything and everything: tennis, rock-climbing, filmmaking, movies, games, photography, music, tech stuff, so I'm a bit all over the place. Needa move by the 31st of Dec at the very latest (possibly later but kinda rough on my end), so if you've got something that works hmu :)
Hey ! I'm French and I'm moving to Canberra for an internship beginning of January. I have been studying in Sydney for a year. I like traveling, hiking, politics, contemporary art, cycling, good food and drinks with friends. I am a clean and respectful flatmate. I would like to find a flat where everyone can have his private space but also sometimes where we can have dinner or casual drinks ! Looking for a flat with a good atmosphere. See you !
Hi future housemates! I am Clare. I’m on an early search-and-secure mission to find a new comfy place to live from late January 2017. About Your Place. It must be warm in Winter! (I really feel the cold!) Otherwise I am quite flexible re; house/unit/etc. I would prefer somewhere with nearby access to ACTION buses and within approx 30mins to Uni Canberra (although I am willing to consider most areas ie; Woden). Over the years I have shared with different genders, a variety of age groups, people from other countries and employed/students, so I know the Etiquette of house-sharing arrangements with a diversity of people. I would enjoy the occasional ‘group’ meal, chatting with other tenants or being independent depending on the vibe in the property. What I Will Bring. I am seeking a reasonable sized room to place a full set of queen size bedroom furniture. I will also bring with me general furniture which I am happy for other housemates to use. (If you have a lock-up shed to place unwanted furniture, that would be ok too.) I also have a lot of great quality kitchen appliances too as I like to cook and bake. About Me. I am a Transgender female and have a 'youthful' personality for my age! Although I like to socialise, I am generally quiet at home. I am a tidy person who cleans up after themselves and is respectful of other tenant's privacy. Sports-wise, I like Bikram Yoga, Badminton and Swimming. I'll be studying a Bachelor of Health Sciences at the University of Canberra next year. There is the possibility that I may work fulltime and study part-time if the perfect job falls my way over the next few months. At this stage, I will need to move into a new place from 21st or 28th January. I should be back in Canberra from approx 14th Jan for inspections, etc. Contact me if you have any questions ...
Looking for some new roommates and friends?? Look no further than these two fun-loving gal pals! Danielle and I are in the market for a third roommate to complete our new home. We are still looking for a place and are in the middle of the vigorous process right now! We are relaxed, friendly, clean and always up for a good time; whether that means a good night out or staying in with the fam watching crappy tv, its always a good time! While we love and respect privacy, we are always ready for some beers, bants or late night chats and dnms :) I (Kiana) am coming into my last year of university (nursing), work part-time and play a sport at least once a week. Danielle is a freshly graduated primary school teacher, successfully going into her first year of educating our future! Feel free to swing us a message if you're interested! :)
I am a phd student of philosophy and arrived to Canberra one year ago from Mexico. I am very easy going and social so I am looking for a place that feels more like a family than just shared house. Having meals together and hanging out is more important than anything else. Hope to met you soon!
My name is Molly and I am a science student from Sydney moving to Canberra for a few months for a training program. I am looking for a room in a clean and comfortable house with friendly housemates. I like cooking, music and having a drink after work so somewhere a bit social would be great. I am looking to stay from late December to the end of February.
I'm an incoming PhD student at UNSW Canberra. I'm moving from Chicago, so I don't know anyone (although I have friends in Sydney). I'm very social and will probably want to throw small get-togethers every now and then. Very good about chores and dishes and whatnot. Tidy enough without being a neat freak. I'm a pretty decent cook and I'm enthusiastic about sharing my food. I'm ok with pets but I don't mind a non-pets place.
Hello, my name is Sophie. I am from France (born in the West Indies). I come for a few months (for the moment) in Brisbane to improve my english...and my life (VWH)! I will looking for a job as soon as possible. I am a friendly, easy-going person who respects other people. I am able to be social yet have my own space. If you offer, I am ok for swap the rent for doing a few hours cooking and cleaning per week. I like a clean space and house. I like pets, specially lovely dogs.
I'm a third-year ANU student. I love great chats but also personal space. I'm really tidy and am keen for to take part in the cleaning roster or anything like that. I'm a department officer at the ANU Students Association so will have a steady income to pay fortnightly/monthly rent.
Generally friendly, easy going, like a chat, equally happy to do my own thing. I've been share housing all my life. I'm a bit of a project girl. Every now and then I get a bee in my bonnet and write a script for a short-film or have a down-home community art-photography exhibition or something. I was once an opera singer, but now I mostly just hum quietly in the shower. I love walking on Mt Majura (the moss was amazing this winter!). I'm looking for one or more mature flatmates, and I'm pretty partial to houses with big north facing windows.
I am from Sydney and I will be moving to Canberra to start an APS job. I enjoy socialising but also my down time and love a good cup of coffee! I like to get out on the weekends and explore the city, especially bush walking and swimming to keep fit. Having lived out of home for a number of years I know how to look after myself. I'm tidy and respectful especially in shared spaces. I love animals and would be more than happy to share with someone with pets although I don't have any myself.
I'm a fun, creative, active girl looking for a fresh start (just ended a 6-year relationship). I'm a musician and would like to have either a spare room or living area I could set up as a studio. I work (and stay) Friday - Sunday down the Gold Coast as a live sound engineer and teach music lessons from my home studio two afternoons per week. I ride a motorbike and would require an off-street area to park it. Looking for social flatmates who enjoy catching up over a glass of wine at the end of the day, doing the odd "family" dinner or movie & games nights. That said, I certainly respect privacy and personal space. I'm not a clean freak, but I am neat and tidy - especially in the kitchen and communal areas. Excited to find and meet my new flatmates!
Hi there, My name is Nelson. I'm 21 years old and have recently completed a degree in International Studies at Deakin, Melbourne. I am seeking a room for a 3 month period as I will be undertaking an internship with the Australian Institute of International Affairs in Canberra. I'm friendly, easy going and always up for a chat or a laugh. I will probably be focused on the internship predominantly, but am more than happy spending time with housemates and relaxing. I am attentive, clean and respectful, and mindful of others in their own space. I would preferably like a furnished room, or one with a bed provided at least, mainly so I don't have to cart all my stuff up from Victoria. So please get in touch if you have a room available. Thank you.
Heya! I'm studying English (with a focus on theatre studies) and film at ANU, which I decided on after changing my degree three times. I'm a big fan of Radiohead, Alt-J, Bowie, Boy & Bear... the list is too long, but I would love to find somewhere to have a jam every now and then! I want to find somewhere social and relaxed where the housemates are exactly that, mates. I prefer a bev or two on a sunny afternoon over civic. I don't really know what else to say, my favourite colour is purple, spicy food is where it's at and dogs are fab. Ask away if you wanna know more. P.S. I'm a social smoker, it won't let me tick a box for that.
I am a full time working professional. I am a very chilled out, clean and friendly guy. Always up for a chat and I also respect the privacy and personal space of others, and expect the same. I will be working 5 days a week and I don't really sit at home on weekends. I play little bit of guitar and other instruments, so if you are a musician then we're going to have good time! I like sports and yoga. I am very open minded and accepting in nature. I have been living in a beautiful house in Turner from past 6 months. Unfortunately the owner want's to move-in. I would like a change now so looking for an apartment near to CBD. Would like live with a flatmate who is up for chat sometimes after work with a beer of sth, cook together sometimes, have dinner together. I would like to be in a friendly environment when I am home. :-)
Looking for a person to start a share house with me and my current housemate :) I'm an undergraduate student in my second year of Creative Industries at QUT, very friendly and sociable and happy to share cooking and expenses. I'm not a big party animal however I do like to have a glass of wine with dinner occasionally and go out sometimes on the weekends. I work most nights and am around a bit during the day. Jayme works full time hours but not regular, she's around a little bit and is super fun. She does like to go out on weekends and have a lot of fun. So whatever you're into is cool :) Thanks , Sam
Hi, I'm Chris, a 22 year old student from Sydney whose moving to Canberra to commence a Bachelor of Nursing. I formerly lived in a 40 person Housing Co-operative in Sydney called Stucco. Stucco has taught me the value of living in communal spaces, so I very interested in finding somewhere that is lively and homely.
Hello! We are a couple (Australian and American) who have been living in the USA for the past few months. We are looking for somewhere awesome to move into in early January!!! We really want to make friends in our new house as we are leaving a lot of ours behind here in Tallahassee. Any orientations, preferences, or identities are a-okay with us, please let us know so we can accomodate your wishes :) We like a beer, a glass of wine, and cooking. We aren't huge partiers, so we are looking for housemates who are just down to chill, watch an episode of something or play some board games. We no longer smoke but if you do, it's not a deal breaker for us. While we are health conscious, we are not vegetarian or vegan (I'm slowly making the transition) but if you are, please let us know so we can make sure we respect your kitchen and food area :) We do own a very friendly small-medium dog (a Kelpie mix named Chia) who is currently at her grandparent's place. She is a true outside dog and prefers to stay outdoors most of the time unless the weather is really bad. Ideally we would like a space with a backyard that accepts pets or already has pets as she gets along really well with other dogs, but we understand it's difficult. She gets very spoiled there so it's not an issue if you do don't allow animals. I'm a hospitality veteran and Mike works in software development so he uses his computers a lot. He will probably also pick up a casual job in hospo or retail. I am also studying Journalism online and I'm in my final stages, so that keeps me pretty busy when I'm not working. I hope to start a placement soon after I graduate, so I'll be out a lot. I am more than happy to pay upfront for the bond and four weeks rent (inc. utilities) if you are interested in taking us. Since we are coming back from the States we have no furniture at all; if you're moving and need to get rid of yours, please let us know! Even just a bed would be a great help. We look forward to meeting you :) Mike and Tayla
Full-time professional, fit, healthy, clean and tidy, animal friendly, studying part-time. Prefer own bathroom and car park in a new/near new complex within 5km of the city. Pool would be a bonus!
I am a Graphic Design student in my final semester. I have lived in student accommodation for 3 years so I know how to live with people. I will spend most of my time at work, at uni or on Netflix.
We are a busy and low key couple. I need a place in Canberra for the duration of my field work for my PhD, otherwise I live in Brisbane. Liam already lives in Canberra so may or may not decide to move in with me (but given that I live on PhD scholarship money another person helps keep my life affordable!). This does mean the couple part is negotiable, based on price. I tend to keep to myself, but like to cook, play board games and read.
Hi, I'm a friendly, tidy, and considerate 21 year old student looking for a sharehouse in the ACT. The lease to my current place (that I've rented for three years) is ending in early January but I'd love to move sometime this month before the Christmas rush, so I'm quite flexible on dates. I'm often out and about either with uni or work but in my spare time I enjoy baking, cycling, second hand shopping, board games, hiking, and reading. I currently don't drive which is good for the flexibility of an extra car space for guests and other housemates!! However, I do ride a bike and will need a safe place to keep it.
Hi, I’m a creative person who dabbles in Photography and Graphic Design. I’m currently living on the Gold Coast looking to migrate to Brisbane in early 2017 to commence studying Entertainment Business Management at JMC Academy in February. I’m open-minded, easy going, respectful and reliable. My interests include watching TV shows (such as: Game of Thrones, Mr Robot, Bob’s Burgers, The Office), music (Nirvana, Parkway Drive, The Smith Street Band etc etc) and films/documentaries like Pulp Fiction, Harry Potter, Blackfish and anything by David Attenborough. I go out to live music gigs fairly often, more than I go out to clubs etc. Not a big party animal however I do enjoy sneaky beverages and good old backyard drinking sessions. I enjoying meeting people of all walks of life and am searching for like-minded people to call somewhere home with. If I sound like a stranger you’d wanna live and become mates with or just wanna suss me out, let me know!
Hey guys, My name is Nel and I'm 21yrs old. I am urgently looking for a place to move in to. I'm a pretty chilled guy and would be happy to sit down and chat, watch movies, dinner, have a beer... whatever housemates do. I go to the gym a lot after work so I won't be in the house every second. I don't really drink alcohol so if the crew needs a designated driver, I'm your guy lol I'm also a carpenter so if anything needs fixing around the house, id be able to fix it. Let me know if you need more info. Give me a call or text Thanks
Hi im a young professional whos relocated from Sydney, currently working in the city (Civic). Outdoorsy person who's also abit of a geek. Hands on. I'm really easygoing, I cant stress enough the easygoing bit. Tidy and accommodating.
Hey I'm Emily, I'm 19, studying Journalism at Griffith and work a part time job, all weekend, all day along with two internships per week. Besides work and study, I like to read, crafts, go outdoors and also tend to play a lot of video and computer games when uni is finished. So, with my moving in you will possibly gain an Xbox 360 (that looks like R2D2!). I also have a boyfriend that I love to see about 2 to 3 times per week. I am very chill, easy to get along with as well as tidy and respectful of others privacy and I am currently looking to move out of home for the first time.
Sign a lease with me :) I'm looking to move into a new place in January and am looking for a housemate to join me. I'm a 29 year old female employed full time with a 4 yr old very affectionate and well trained female small - medium dog. I have almost a whole house full of furniture with the exception of a second bedroom and some kitchen supplies. Am currently looking at some great 2 - 3 bedroom house/ townhouses that could be fantastic. Am also happy to move into established home if the right place comes along. Let me know if you are interested by contacting me
Hi future flatmate, I currently live in a beautiful flat with beautiful people but the owner decided to sell the unit so here I am looking for another nest. I work full time in IT Project in healthcare. I am pretty active and live a pretty simple healthy lifestyle, going out camping during the weekend or spending time with boyfriend when he's around. My only requirements would be to live in a place that feels like home and a clean kitchen so I can cook my fresh organic food and share the love when I can. Other than that, I am easy going, I can easily understand someone else's perspective and adapt to common house rules. I originally come from France, hence the accent but I've lived in Australia for over 5 years. I'm fortunate to have travelled to a lot of places in the world and have nice stories to tell. I am known to be an amazing flatmate to live with and I have references to share if needed. Let's meet up and see if we click. Any questions, please ask away. PS: Moving out before December 11th.
I am a young professional. I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I do a lot of exercise in my free time and I enjoy listening to music. I am accommodating and relaxed. I keep the house tidy. Every few weeks I will bring a group of friends around for a taco and board game night.
Iam looking for 1x Bed 1x Bathroom 1x Carpark Looking at around January - Fenruary 2017+. A working professional and i'll be mainly at work from 7am to 6pm Monday to Fridays. I am extremely clean, tidy and quiet and trust worthy, a non smoker. Also, will help in keeping the place clean and tidy. Alternatively looking at teaming/ sharing a 2x Bed, 2x Bathroom, Carpark (under cover) Bills to share (internet, Water, Elec.). Message me your details ASAP to discuss further
So I wanting to move out my current place by the beginning of January. Most of my friends aren't in the position to move out with me. 😒 I'm looking for 2 or 3 people to move into a house and call it our own. Based in Paddington, Milton, Red Hill, Ashgrove and Wilson. So if you are interested please don't hesitate to message me and send me your details. Let's hang out, get a coffee or a cocktail. See if we gel and all that jazz. A little bit about myself. I like getting into mischief :) I would consider myself a social bunny. I'm always procrastinating doing my uni work and rather be hanging out on the deck with a drink in my hand or literally anything. I'm easy going , open minded and creative person.
Hi there, I'm Zoe! I am a 33 year old Executive Assistant working in the Brisbane CBD. I am looking to move into a house (or possibly a unit) within the leafy suburbs of Paddo, Ashgrove, Red Hill or surrounds. My preference would be living with one or two other ladies around my age who would enjoy a casual drink, dinner or TV series marathon every now and then. I like to live healthily so don't eat a lot of meat and prefer to use environmentally friendly cleaning products and I have a habit of turning off light switches :) I would like to move into a "home" and not just be a person paying rent. My interests include going to the gym, yoga, live music, travelling and bush walking. I am a big cat and dog lover, so living with animals would be great! At this stage I am flexible around move in dates and happy to consider something in the New Year also. Oh and a car park is really important too! I am also interested in team ups - so send me a message and we can discuss more.
i'm a geographer from melbourne starting a phd in sociology at anu. my favourite material thing is my bike nimbus. i have no musical ability whatsoever, but i like listening to those who do. i also like films and i'm currently making a documentary of my own. i speak german and mandarin. i enjoy baking, but i don't think i'm very good at it. if you've got one, i would love to be involved in a veggie garden
I have just accepted my offer into the Master of Economics at ANU, and am looking for accommodation around uni. I am currently scheduling the move to Canberra for the first week of February, but am flexible if you would prefer earlier/ later. A bit about me: I am 23, and completed my undergrad in 2015 from the University of Sydney, majoring in Political Economy and International Relations. I grew up in Pakistan, and moved to Australia in 2011. I am half Australian and half Pakistani (have passports from both countries). I have been sharing with my housemates in Sydney since March last year, and have grown to love them very much. I know when to keep to myself, but also like being able to come home and share the occasional dinner/drinks. I clean up after myself always, and contribute to the household regularly. I am easy going, and will be working part time and studying the rest of the time.
Hi everyone! We are a couple making our way down to Canberra to find a place we can call home! At the moment we both live on the Gold Coast and have just graduated university and been offered jobs down the capital! We are a very easy going couple, 34 & 27 yrs old who enjoy the outdoor life but also a night at home watching Netflix. We both will be working full-time in our new professions and planning to spend the weekends outdoors! We are looking for a room to rent for approx 3-6 months while getting comfortable in the new city. Most suitable would be a ensuite (but our own bathroom would be just fine). We will be arriving in Canberra around the 8th of January and hoping we could move in straight away :) If you want to live with a very easy going couple don´t hesitate to contact us! Send me an email Hope to hear from you soon!
From day-to-day, I love to cook, be healthy, practice yoga, go for runs, watch movies, read, and listen to music. Less day-to-day, I enjoy travelling abroad and road-tripping at home. I'm from Canberra, but have lived in the USA as a dual citizen; currently studying human rights and development studies at the ANU while working on the side. Also passionate about the environment and responsible consumerism.
Hi, Gen and I have currently been living in our 3 bedroom appartment in the city for over 2 years. We met on flat mates.com and have been great mates ever since ! So we are looking to expand our house and move slightly out but still in surrounding suburbs as we spend a lot of our time around Southbank and the city. I have a cat named Theo who is amazing. So I would love to find a house/ appartment with a little courtyard or back yard for him. I also grow my own veggies and would love a bigger area ! A little bit about me, I work full time as a manager in a hair salon. I'm a vegetarian who loves the outdoors ! Gen is a full time student studying her masters, the both of us are going to Europe next July for 5 weeks! We became great friends living together and we found each other on this site so we are looking for a 3rd amigo to join us. We generally like to have a few beers/wine to unwind a stressful day. Both super easy going as long as our new room mate is tidy :) Our lease ends next January the 22nd 2017 so we are looking to move out around those dates Message me if you would like to get together and find a house !
Hi all! My name is Laura, I am a postgraduate student obtaining my Masters in Globalisation at ANU. I am originally from the United States, but am quite familiar with Canberra as this will be my second year of uni. I am looking to move closer to the city as right now I feel I live too far, and my modes of transportation do not get me there and back fast enough. Ideally, a 10-minute bike ride is as far as I would have to go. I am clean, tidy, and friendly. I enjoy cooking, socialising, wine, game nights, and some down time. I am looking for a place to call home ideally with individuals who want to be more than just roommates and enjoy some socialising. Looking to move in end of January/early February. Please contact me for this listing through message as I am out of the country until the new year! Thank you!
I am a clean, friendly and relaxed housemate. I've been living in sharehouses for four years so I'm fairly used to it too! I'm a 23 year old public servant who moved to Canberra earlier this year from Melbourne, though I'm originally from Perth. In terms of hobbies, I enjoy reading, baking, binge watching Gilmore Girls, hiking, and photography.
Hi my name is Javana, I'm 23 and I work in customer service and also study part time. I am friendly but respectable. I spend a couple (or more) nights with my boyfriend whether it be his or mine so I would prefer a place accepting of couples. I am a private person but I do know how to socialise and be friendly! I am very tidy as long as the house work is shared between everyone. If you think you can help me out please message me! But please make note of my move in date! Looking forward to hearing from you :)
Hi there I'm a med PhD/ neuroscientist (super driven) recently back for the states, to help my folks through a transition. Now it's my turn. (House trained) I read a lot though I'm not really a homebody. I love to hang out, philosophise and have a bit of fun preferably with cool compassionate, empathic, humble, self aware, progressive, respectful people. I’m chill and easy going but passionate and engaged with the world. Life's about being positive and being able to talk to anyone no matter what their perspective but if you dont know who Donald Trump is or think he's a good thing, I'm just not the one for you. Troy
