Hello future housemates! my name is George, I'm 24. I came to Australia to study in Brisbane and now that uni is over I want to live and work for a while in Melbourne. Why Melbourne? Since it's the cultural hub of Australia and the hipster-place-to-be(which is right up my alley) I want to experience the city and its people and not only stay there for a few days. So my plan is to stay for around 2 months(maybe longer, let's see how things turn out). For work I want to get into hospitality, I have been working the last two years as a bartender in Germany and I would love to get back at it. Just totally adore working and chatting with people in this environment. Some more background on me: Originally I'm from Russia but now studying material science and engineering in Germany. At the moment my hobbies are playing the guitar, singing in a choir(preferably new pop-songs and not only ancient stuff), ballroom dancing, boxing and going out for a run. I would love to continue doing some of this stuff in Melbourne but I'm also totally down to try out new things Before coming to Australia, the past 6 months, I have lived in Munich in a shared house with 6 roomies and I would love to live in a shared flat/house again. I like hanging out with my roomies, having a beer or cooking and having dinner together. I mean we don't have to become best friends(but which would be cool), but I'd like to have roomies who don't try to actively avoid the other roommates and enjoy the company of others. so a family-like environment would be totally awesome
Hi guys! I have just moved back to Australia and am looking for a room. This past 1.5 years I have been living abroad and lived/worked one year in Berlin - amazing city! I am originally from Adelaide and now moving to Melb. Currently I am still employed by the Westpac Group (I was on a career break while I went away) but not currently working. I just got back from overseas this week, and trying to get my boss to organise a work transfer to Melb part-time. I will also study Community Services in 2019. About me: I am so easy going! I have travelled around the world and led an interesting life in Berlin where I made the move spontaneously, without knowing anyone or anything there! And it was the best year of my life. Found a job, found a place to live and made amazing friends and created amazing memories. As a housemate I am: Clean and neat (this is a vow haha), respectful, fun (always down for a drink and an interesting chat) flexible (believe it or not in Berlin for 6 months I lived in a bedroom/shower - I will explain more when I see you and show you a photo lol) and organised (rent will always be paid on time and I do have savings already put away for that). I used to be a school teacher, a finance case manager and in Berlin a patient care adviser for a digital hospital, but will now pursue what I am truly passionate about which is case management in community services (hence a little extra study). My interests: -Traveling (yeah yeah everyone writes that, but I have been to some interesting places that the usual crowd would not venture to). -Exploring abandoned places (in Berlin I explored an old Nazi hospital which Hitler used to be treated at, an old abandoned chemical factory where we found documents from the 80s still there and laboratories...abandoned houses with magazines from the 70s and old furniture, clothes etc...the list goes on). - Techno music (Berlin exposed me to some amazing under ground techno artists and now I have a sweet collection of awesome tracks). -Art/Graffiti art...I love photographing graffiti art and going to different art exhibitions and galleries. Anyway sorry about the thesis, but I will be your perfect new flatmate (really!) haha and hopefully we can meet! Any other questions just ask. Peace!
I respect multi-cultural diversity and people differences. I'm a scholarship awardee from Indonesia and will take a master degree in Unimelb starting in mid January 2019. I'm a reliable person (will pay the fees/bills on time). I'm a flexible and relax person, and mature enough as I have been working as a professional in a number of international organizations/companies. I'm calm and friendly, and love to live in a clean house.
I'm a 25 year old female doing a start-up business and working part time. Originally from Newcastle. I’m super friendly, easy going, open minded and respectful of boundaries and space. I love reading, writing and socialising. Looking for like-minded people.
Hey, my name is Ajay (30, born & raised in Melbourne w/ Indian background). Working full time in hospitality. Looking for a place in cbd or outer city (any side-N.E.W.S.) as I work in the city. I am very sociable but also know people need their privacy. I enjoy to the gym, cooking and enjoying outdoors activities. With work and hobbies, I won’t be home often unless I have a day off (rarely) but would make time to spend with my housos (dinner, drinks, grocery shopping, cleaning etc). I like a clean and tidy place (not a clean freak though). If you have any further questions, just ask. Also, have no problem going on the lease (would prefer it) but flexible considering circumstance. Thanks, Ajay.
Originally from the UK and have spent the last 3 years living and working in Austria. I've moved to Melbourne on a 4 year sponsored visa to start work in the Australian subsidary of my current company as a Project Manager. I'm fairly well-travelled and will be coming from shared accomodation (5 people), so I understand how important it is to be a clean and respectful housemate! An outgoing person and like to stay active whether it be in the gym, playing sports or out on a hike, etc. I'm also keen on my music and would love to meet people to head to some gigs with; officially a pubs-over-clubs kinda guy (these days!) and always keen to improve my cooking skills (obligatory glass of wine/cold beer during preparation, of course.) Weeknights are admittedly quite low-key between work and keeping active, but it would be great to meet sociable housemates keen to enjoy the occasional meal together etc. If you've any questions, please feel free to ask!
Queer trans couple, two dogs (border collie + greyhound), one cat.
Hey there, I'm South African, 37 yo, been in Melbourne about a month now. I'll be here until the middle of next year at the very least, hopefully longer. I'm currently working as a bicycle tech while mulling over more career orientated work options: either a PhD or a position in an environmental consultancy role. About me: My background is in the natural sciences, working as an ecologist at the University of Cape Town. I've been on a sabbatical for the last year, fulfilling a dream of cycling up Africa. The second part of the dream was to live in a new city for a couple of years, so here I am! I'm excited to be here and looking for a place to settle so I can get properly stuck into a new life here. I'd consider myself easy going, uncomplicated, neat and tidy, and totally happy to pull my weight around the house. I wouldn't say I'm the life of the party, but I can wiggle my extremities if the mood strikes me. Honestly, I'm more comfortable at home with friends, good food and conversation...and maybe a board game, some friendly banter. I enjoy a drink and good conversation and I'm partial to a good book or series. Don't mind a bit of cooking either. I'm happiest outside though, doing something active. Specific outdoor interests include rock climbing, hiking, cycling, surfing, kayaking, camping etc. I'm keen to get involved in those activities, with others, as I settle into a Melbourne routine. Hope I get to meet you :) Sam
I'm easy-going, very clean no matter my own space or public area. I love cooking and good at any topics talking, love to meet new friends but not holding party all the time. I had stayed in Melbourne for a month before am looking forward to moving back again at the end of this year.
Hey everyone, I’m looking for a private room around Brunswick area or somewhere that’s close by, to move in by the end of this month at the latest, I'm a pretty laid back person and won't bother your personal space but I'm also down for a chat or a few drinks here and there. Looking for a clean and respectful environment. I am gender, pet and smoke friendly. My budget is somewhere from $140-190/w. If you have any suggestions that ticks the boxes please contact me on facebook! Thank you xx. Feel free to contact me via phone and yeah, thanks
Happy Day, y'all! My name is Kayon (pronounced "Crayon", but without the "r"). As you could probably tell by my use of the word "y'all", I'm from the USA, California to be exact. California's nickname is "The Golden State", and my personality lives up to my home's namesake! I hold a Bachelors Degree in Molecular Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. I have been traveling the world for the last two years. Places visited include South America, Central America, the Caribbean, Scandanavia, West Europe, and Asia. Current stop: Australia! I am in Australia on the Working Holiday Visa, and hope to work in research or other science-related fields during my stay in Melbourne. When I am not moving from one country to the next, I enjoy fencing, hiking, working out at the gym, and learning languages. If you're looking for someone to speak English, Spanish, German, or French with, then look no further! In addition to my language skills, two years of living in hostels and homestays, as well as two years working at Berkeley as a conflict resolver and community developer to university students living on-campus, have made me well-versed in communication and sharing spaces with others. I look forward to telling you more in person! Have a blessed day.
I am a 25 year old professional relocating from Newcastle NSW to Melbourne to take on a BDM role for an Educational Resources company. I will be spending most of my time either on the road around the city visiting childcare centres, or working in the CBD at the office, however will be required to work from home a little bit (and would love a study space/corner!) I have lived in share houses previously, and really enjoy it. I like to keep things relatively clean and tidy. I am an active and a social person - I’ll often be up and about in the morning with the dogs, and hitting the gym after work, but do love my wine and cheese and a night in or out as well. I have a 10 year old Jack Russell. She is an absolute sweetheart and gets on well with other dogs, but as she is getting old she spends most of her time sleeping or snoozing in the sunshine and isn’t too playful anymore. I also have a 3 year old Ridgeback mix. He is very quiet and loves a good belly rub. Where I am now, I take them out regularly, and am happy to help out with yours too. As I’m still in Newcastle, I can’t actually come and have a look at the room straight away (though am hoping to be able to come down for a weekend to check places out in the next couple of weeks), but am more than happy to have a chat over phone, Social Media etc, whatever works for you! My starting date for the new job is 3rd December, so looking to move in the days prior to that - ideally the Thursday/Friday before, but do have a couch to crash on if this needs to be pushed out a few days. I look forward to hearing from you!
I`m Emilia, from Argentina, I've been living in Melbourne for a year now and I have another year to stay in this beautiful country. Unfortunately in my current house we all decide to leave at once so I'm looking for a place to move in by December. Currently working in hospitality in the CBD and also studying full time, so I'm gone most of the time. Although whenever I can, I love cooking or enjoying a nice glass of red (preferable in the garden). Wine is a big part of my life, back in Argentina I used to work in the wine industry, so you'll probably will see me often researching about wine (well yes, drinking mostly). I'm very social and easygoing but I can be in my own world as well, I think I have the perfect balance between being extro-introverted. I`ve been living on my own since I was 18 (now I'm 30) so I'm very well house trained, clean and tidy. I`m looking for a home and housemates, meaning I`m not looking to live in a hotel kind of house. I like interacting with the people I live with and treat my house like a home. Preferable looking to move in for more than 6 months but i'm flexible.
I'm a recent graduate and now looking for a place to stay for the summer and possibly/hopefully) longer. I'm usually quiet, and laid-back and would love to share the house with people sharing the same traits. My favorite activity is having a relaxing chat over a cup of tea after a long day :) I would love to connect with people that I'll share the house with, so house dinners, board game nights, movie sessions are some of the things I would want to do as a house together :) I often work at home so if you have a strong, unlimited internet connection, you are the One! :)
I'm easy going, clean and tidy. I'm a social person, I like music, art exhibitions and like practising yoga.
Hi everyone! I'm looking for an accommodation nearby Melbourne Uni's Parkville campus. I'm a 26 yo Italian PhD student in cultural anthropology/art history/postcolonial studies and I will be undertaking a research on Indigenous Australian social photography at The University of Melbourne for 12 months. I am very interested in all forms of art ranging from visuals to music to cinema and, of course, photography. I have a strong passion for journalism and I try to keep myself up to date with world news and the surrounding reality as much as I can. I consider myself a very respectful and quiet person, and I have a rather long history of shared housing both in Italy and Australia (I have been an exchange student in Sydney Uni for one year during my master's). Previous experiences have made me very flexible and diplomatic but I would love my flatmates to meet at least minimum standars of politeness, tidiness/neatness, and easygoingness. I do enjoy kitchen or living room chats, shared dinners and overall conviviality which can shape the living environment beyond its very only physical features. Look forward to hear from you!
* Current lease ends mid-Feb * Full-time masters student, tutoring on the side. Respectful and tidy, love a good chat but also value down-time. Often found: cooking up a storm, studying or soaking in the sun from the backyard/balcony/other advantageous spot.
Hi, my name is Cameron and I'm 28 years old! I am moving to Melbourne from Brisbane for work (government), and am looking for somewhere to stay for the remainder of 2018 whilst I find somewhere more permanent. I am easy going and respectful, and enjoy cooking, hiking, gaming, and the gym. I am more than happy to do my share of cleaning, etc and value having a tidy living area.
So it seems to be more difficult than I thought to find a non menacing photo of me without mutton chops. If you know how to load more photos, please fill me in. Thinker, learner, design, culture, irony, ideas, fire twirling, skateboarding, cycling, straight shooter, ENTP/J, open minded. I do cook and yes you can make special requests. I work four days a week a lot of my other time Studying or exploring. I came get tunnel vision with certain projects which can at times take me out of the game as far as full-time socialising goes. I would have to be in the top 5% of great people to live with hahaha. Lets hang out and see if we get along :) Looking for a community of people that look after one another without having to be in each other pockets.
Hi everyone, my name is Miranda, 31, I am working as a full time physiotherapist in Alphington. I have been off adventuring overseas for the last year, and I am looking to settle back into Melbourne life. I love all things Melbourne, and am obviously obsessed with food and coffee. I enjoy going to gigs, staying active, camping, and getting outdoors as much as I can. My hobbies include trail running, cycling, bike touring, reading and listening to podcasts about amazing adventurous women! When at home I like to chill out, read, cook and spend hours choosing something to watch on Netflix. In the next little while I'm hoping to improve my yoga and rock climbing skills and make a solid effort to live a more mindful/sustainable existence. I am an easy going person who likes their home to be clean, uncluttered and full of good vibes. My ideal housemates would be considerate and clean, and enjoy a chat, wine or a shared meal. I like to cook separately, but love sharing meals now and then. No specific dietary needs - I love ALL food! I have no furniture so would be thrilled if any happened to come along with a room. I am free to move any time from November 10th! :)
Hi everyone I'm Rebekah :). I'm an easy going, friendly, responsible, and pay bills and rent on time. I work 8-12 hr shifts, so as long as I have a quiet place to sleep then I'll be happy :). I'd like to live in a home where people are around my age mid-late 20s or early 30s and in an all-female household. I like to spend my free days reading, I'm still trying to explore what Melbourne has to offer, and I love eating food! I'm more than happy to live with pets too. Ideally, move in towards the end of December - early January.
I work full-time, I'm clean & tidy, and enjoy cooking/ baking for others. I like to keep fit/social by playing team sport, I regularly go to live music gigs and enjoy reading a good book in the sun.
Hey there, I'm Lana. 27 years old, full-time working professional. I'll be starting my masters course early next year, so I'll be keeping myself pretty busy. I'm a super-chilled gal who LOVES music (although, sadly, I can't play any instruments). In my spare time I enjoy cooking, reading, and solving the problems of the world over a few beers with friends. Going to live gigs is always excellent. I've also recently started getting interested in gardening, and would love nothing more than to learn how to grow veggies. I'm looking for a sweet place to call home for the next few years. I want to share with quality humans who enjoy each other's company and also respect the need for alone time. I am not interested in party houses because of the whole work/study lifestyle, but I love socialising and really enjoy opening my home to friends for meals. Send me a message if you've got any questions, I'm flexible with moving dates too.
I'm a Non Smoker that stills enjoy the fitness scene and living healthy. Well travelled around our incredible country and a few countries. I've been an Emergency Services/Rescuer since 2012, Ex-Soldier for 16yrs before that. I love getting out and about with photography, Footy, Cricket, markets, arts, stage shows and the beaches. Melbourne has been great so far, discovering new coffee hangouts, the street art, new eats and a few beers here and there. My lease is finished on the 24th Nov and looking for a place from the 25th Nov to 29th Dec. Then relocating to Perth. Can cook and consider myself tidy and clean. I don't have a lot of personal gear as I'm waiting for a removal uplift, but have a supply of essentials that may need a corner of a shed or inmy room. Look forward to saying Hi. kind regards Tony
