My partner and I are responsible young adults looking to move out for the first time. We are both recent graduates from Lake Tuggeranong College. Ben has a full time job and I am currently looking for one. We are tidy, non-smokers and we are more than happy to be social with flatmates. I don’t tend to login to this website very much and I don’t pay for it so if you’d like to team up and start a new sharehouse or if you think you have the perfect house for Ben and I, please message me and I'll give you my number. Thanks everyone!
We love to keep the house clean and basic hygiene will be well taken care of. Wants to come back to healthy home cooked food? Just let me know and I can always just cook an extra portion for you. Maybe healthier cakes/ muffins for any celebration We are environmentally friendly when it comes to energy consumption. So far only used heating in winter evening to heat up the room and aircon to cool down room when it is above 30 degree indoor. Our current housemates were amazed that water and electricity consumption went down after 2 of us moved in to replace one previous housemate. We decided to find another place as one of our housemates decided to have an unemployed guest who overstay from 2 weeks to 10 weeks, damaged the oven and even created a mess daily in the kitchen which I have to clean up. And apparently it is her rights to continue doing this as and when she wants cos she said this is her house even though we paid more rent than her. We rarely have visitors except for the occasional dinner with friends. And maybe friends/families from Melbourne who might stay a day or 2. Furnishings we have to share on top of our room furnishings: Indoor: 23" TV with TV Box, Indoor Antenna, HP Envy printer, a foldable dining table, microwave, crock pot, rice cooker, kettle, vacuum cleaner etc. Optional (can give these away) Outdoor: White table with 3 chairs, outdoor umbrella, umbrella stand. Garden: Shovel, garden fork, manual lawn mower, leaf blower. We do prefer house mates who are respectful to others, easy going and clean up after themselves.
Hi there! I am a student moving to Canberra for 1 year to work while completing a postgraduate degree. I love animals but sadly will be leaving my dog at home. I am typically a quiet person when at home who prefers to relax by going outside or watching videos/movies. I clean up after myself and enjoy gardening and adding some green touches! I prefer to cook my own meals at home most of the time but do enjoy going out to try new places to eat. I will have a busy schedule so wish to find a place that is calm and quiet. Hope to be in touch soon!
I'm in my early 20s and a 2nd year student of policy studies at ANU. I work two paid jobs and have my next two volunteer positions lined up for 2018. For a long time now I've been living in a unilodge room. I decided not to apply for a new residential because I've had enough of hotel style accommodation and I'm looking for a home. I'm a student of French and Arabic. I'm very handy when things need doing. I'm not a very knowledgeable gardener but I grew up with a veggie garden and I'm a pretty good cook with fresh ingredients (thanks parents). I'm a hard worker but I love a drink and a chat when I can squeeze it in. As a nature lover, I can I try to head down to the snowys or out to the Shoalhaven area whenever I can. I'm very clean and I'm especially respectful of shared spaces. I grew up driving around Melbourne so I love Canberra 'traffic' :). I'm staying with a family in Pattaya for the next few days but ill be back in Aus mobile reception in a few days.
Hey! My name is Bec, I am 25 years old and originally from Melbourne. I moved up to Canberra last year for a public service job. I have shared before in Melbourne and I'd love to find another place with a homely feel that is social and friendly, but I also appreciate some down time to myself. I am also clean and tidy. In my free time I like cooking, hiking, reading and hanging out with friends. I'll also be studying this year in addition to full time work so that will keep me busy.
I'm moving from Melbourne to Canberra in Feb 2018 for a Grad Program. I'm looking for shared accommodation in Belconnen or surrounding suburbs (within close proximity of public transport) in Feb. I enjoy binge watching tv shows and exploring new brunch spots! I’m a tidy person by nature, respectful of personal space and privacy but happy to socialise too!
I work full time for Federal Government, I've been told I'm a pretty chilled, and clean housemate. I'm a musician and a gamer, however I won't play music loudly unless you're not home. I am a Vegan (but I won't judge your lifestyle). I have the most beautiful, gentle and sweet adult cat, who is impeccably trained and thus is easy to live with. I love coffee and do enjoy a drink, but I don't host any parties. I'm serious about having a place with good internet, air conditioning and heating. Importantly, I'm willing to do all the ground work to find a pet friendly house that isn't too far from Civic.
I have moved to Canberra for work. I will be working full time in the APS. I am generally a quite person who respects others space but I do love the odd sunday sesh or trip the pub. I also enjoy playing social sports, board games nights and settling down to a good book. I love going to watch live sport (especially rugby) and I'm hoping to get some trips up to the snow this winter.
Full time public servant working in Civic, from Wollongong originally and travel most weekends. My friend Emily and I are looking for a 3rd person to rent somewhere near Civic with. Easy going, happy to share some wine/beer and a meal but also respect privacy. Enjoy going to the gym or for hikes, coast trips and a great TV series on Netflix.
Hi, I'm passionate about recycling, helping out, great at fixing things, and have a very sociable Jack Russell who loves attention and a ball. Currently renting in Gungahlin (last 14 months), I work full time in Civic (I.T.), and want to be closer to work so I can ride my bike ($16.70 for parking is ridiculous). I spend some weekends at coast or camping/visiting friends/kids interstate. Looking for a place that has a secure outside yard and a space to park the car.
Hey all, I’m looking a for a place to live around Canberra. I’m a full time student, will be studying Medical Science at either UC or ANU. I’m an avid mountain biker and other extreme sports lover, so I would need some space to store a bike. Also love going to the gym (Anytime Fitness). Love music, you will very rarely catch me not listening to music (Led Zeppelin, and disco are a couple of my favourites). I’m a very social, cheery guy (sorry my picture doesn’t show it haha, best I have) from a little country town called Lithgow. Love hanging out with people, I respect others personal space and time. I’m clean, tidy, and organised. I can and I enjoy cooking. I’ll happily have a drink or two with people, or just hangout. Looking forward to hearing from you!
Hi! I'm moving from Brisbane to Canberra and the beginning of February for a full time engineering graduate position. As I don't know anyone in Canberra (yet!), I am hoping to find a share house with people I can be friends with. I am fairly flexible with length of stay, with ideally a minimum of 6 months. I'm a very easy going, sociable and friendly person who likes living in a tidy, happy place. I love getting out of the house, especially on weekends (pretty excited to try skiing...), but also love spending nights in binging Netflix, reading a good book or just chilling out. I respect people's privacy, the home and will always help out with cleaning. Look forward to meeting you! Cassie
Hi there! I’m an IT professional working for a city based law firm. I am friendly, approachable and easy to get along with. I like to cook and always like to keep things clean, neat and tidy. I like to socialise and meet new people, but value "me time" and relaxation. I'd prefer a night in over a night out, though I enjoy the occasional fun night out with good people. I'm a bit of a gamer and tech head, but also love to get outside in the sun and be active. Having my own car makes getting around easy and I bus to and from work. Location and moving in dates are flexible as is the length of stay. Ideally looking for somewhere longer term.
Let me try to give you a bit of an idea of who I am in a few sentences. I'm a guy, 26 years old. I"m coming up to Canberra from Melbourne to do my Masters of Clinical psychology, which starts on the 22nd of January. I've got a feeling that in the first few weeks I'll be pretty caught up with Uni, as the course starts with two weeks of intensive units (9-5 mon-fri). I've sorted myself out some temporary accommodation in Ainslie until the 17th of Feb, then i'd like to find somewhere permanent. Here in Melbourne, I've just finished up working for a company that does psychological services for offenders with drug and alcohol problems. Before that, the last few years I've been studying Philosophy/Psychology and working various hospitality jobs. I'm interested in philosophy, psychology, politics and music. I love gardening (i'll be sad to not see my strawberries bear fruit before I leave), riding my bike around (with a degree of caution) and spending time with mates (hoping to make a few more when I get up to Canberra). Like everyone else on this website, I'd like to meet and live with people who are open and friendly. I appreciate having a good conversation while brewing a coffee in the morning and some friendly banter over a beer at night. However, of course, there will be times where I need to buckle down and study. Looking forward to moving to a new city and meet new people. Hit me up if you have any questions.
I am clean and tidy. I always pull my weight with house work and pay my bills on time. I enjoy cooking, baking, craft projects, board games and curling up with a book and a cup of tea. I am often up for a chat but also like my privacy.
Returning to Canberra, after 7 years of living/working as an R.Nurse, in the ACT. I will be visiting family & friends for about a month (from mid January) and expect to be away from where I’m staying about 80% of the time. Perfect housemate Eh!? Have references from previous rental properties. Adventuresome, fun, very clean, rent paid on time, very experienced housemate who’s co-operative and carries her weight. Hopefully you’ll e-mail to further discuss.
Hello! I'm originally from Geelong in Vic I'm going into my third year of International Relations, i'm fairly busy with work and study so I guarantee i'll be a respectful roommate. I work alongside uni in hospitality, and i'm always up for a coffee and a chat with friends :) *Can be flexible with move dates*
Hi, I'm Kate. I'm originally from Newcastle but moved to Canberra in Feb 2017. I'll be starting my second year at the ANU studying a double degree in International Relations and Criminology. I work at an Irish pub in Civic so I work most evenings and Saturdays. When I have time between work and uni, I like to have a wine in the evenings and catch up with friends. I'm laidback, genuine and friendly and would enjoy a chat at the end of the day or the odd meal together every now and again. I respect people's privacy, the home and would be more than willing to pull my weight in cleaning. Looking forward to speaking with you - Cheers : )
Hi, I am Lee-chelle. I am starting a graduate position with the ACTPS in Feb 2018, looking to move end of January/early February. I'm friendly, considerate, easy-going and tidy. I love getting out and about, but also happy spending a quiet night in. I'm happy to pay a little extra for my own bathroom. Looking for a housemate as well as a friend :)
I work a standard day of 10 - 6:30. My belongings are usually contained within my bedroom and I'll rarely leave any mess in communal spaces. I can share meals if required Also bringing guitar and electric piano. Free to use but don't break them
Melbournian-turned-Canberran working full time in government legal team and studying full time. Suffice it to say I'm not home very often, but when I am, I'm tidy, easy-going and am always keen for a bit of banter and to share meal with housemates. On top of being able to whip up some fairly yummy nibbles to share, my hobbies don't infringe on common spaces or contribute to noise pollution (reading, casual gaming, being generally boring and inoffensive). I'm also very aware of personal space, and like to have mine from time to time to unwind, and good at respecting that of my housemates. I'm also keen on teaming up on a lease, so if our price points/areas of interest/actual interests/anything else's line up, please feel free to send me a message and we can go from there!
Hey, I'm Karina, I have too many nicknames to list here! Been in Canberra for about 4 years now, which I've heard basically makes me a local. I'm a young professional working full time, who enjoys getting outside for a hike as much as I love curling up and reading the internet for hours. I am very self sufficient but enjoy sharing a glass of wine with a friendly housemate at the end of the day. I'm looking for somewhere long term - 2 years is a good start! Yes, that's a quokka selfie!
