Young professional moving to Canberra to work on the Light Rail. Looking for house mates that want a clean, quiet place during the week. Looking for friendly people who dont mind a beer and a chat but also respect each others privacy. Will be down the snow most weekends when possible
Hello! I'm moving to Canberra from Brisbane to begin an APS grad program in Barton. I finished uni in 2016, studying economics and writing. As a housemate, I like to socialise with wine, netflix, cooking and baking - i do a pretty fantastic vego lasagna! I would be working full time, and probably out exploring on my bike or in the national parks most weekends, so i won't be in your hair too much (but if you're also into these things, that would be awesome too). I currently volunteer as a animal handler and creative writer at RSPCA QLD, so I adore animals and will hopefully continue to volunteer somewhere in the ACT. I don't smoke or have any pets. I have a partner who is remaining in QLD until February, so he would come to stay occasionally. I enjoy keeping a clean home so if you do too that would be perfect. I'm looking for somewhere furnished with a bed. I have a car so parking would be a plus, but not necessary. Let's chat!
I'm super clean, quiet, friendly and considerate of others. I'm moving down from sunny Brisbane in Queensland to set up life in Canberra. I will be working 2 part-time jobs and studying nutrition and sports science at the University of Canberra. My favourite things in accommodation is air and light and in my flatmates I REALLY appreciate cleanliness and kindness. I'm pretty outdoorsy and live and eat relatively healthy.
I'm moving to Canberra in January to begin work as a 2018 APS grad. I'll be finishing up my psychology degree in Newcastle at the end of this year, then travelling for a few months and moving down in January. Interested in meeting new people, getting to know Canberra, playing sports etc. I'm looking to a find a place within walking/cycling distance to Civic and ideally close to shops, restaurants. Prefer a place where everyone is clean and tidy, friendly, chill etc.
Hi all I'm a permanent officer for the ACT Treasury and have been in Canberra for 4.5 months after moving here from Darwin. I'm a fairly quiet soul, but enjoy friendly chats over a few drinks (and, on occasion, more than a few). For hobbies, I enjoy cooking, I play bass guitar (I practice without an amp, so noise won't be an issue, promise) and also play ice hockey in Phillip. I am a non-smoker and have no pets. Ideally I'm looking for a place with people around my age with good access to public transport and is relatively close to Canberra Civic. If I sound like someone who you would be interested in having as a flatmate, feel free to send me a message :) Regards.
Hello! I am a young professional in my late twenties. I am often described as thoughtful, playful, and tolerant by those who know me. I consider myself very tidy, clean, and respectful. I am looking to share a house/flat of mixed gender, ideally with other professionals, but students are fine too. Preferably 3-4 people (including myself). I love animals, so pets are not a problem. (That said, I do not have any pets of my own and won't be bringing or acquiring any). I love good food, outdoors, exploring new places, trying new things, exercise and lead an active lifestyle. Well maybe not as much as those who live in lycra and compete in sports... but I do enjoy the fresh air. I also enjoy being a home body, and would be happy curled up on the couch with a glass of red, playing board games with whomever is up for a chat. I am a clean and organised person, but I don't go nuts with cleaning rosters. I believe we're all capable of pitching in with the cleaning when needed and when it's not inconvenient to do so. That said, I'd prefer not to live in a pig sty. If I sound like the right flatmate to you, shoot me a message, introducing yourself and the other tenants. Thanks! P.S. I do want to be part of a home and get to know you all, not just living with flat mates, however I have a preference to do my own cooking. Happy to participate in house dinners every now and then, especially the spontaneous ones, but I don't want to be committed to three different dinners cooked by three different people each week. My cap for shared dinners is probably once a week i.e. someone different takes a turn to cook every Tuesday, rather than three different people cooking three different days in the same week. P.P.S. I cannot live without a dishwasher. They are the best thing ever invented and I will use it religiously.
I'm sharehouse trained, super social, and very laid back. I've previously lived on-campus and off-campus before. I'm an ANU graduate, but will go back to uni next year to do post-grad. In my spare time, I like to throw and chase frisbees. Pretty flexible with length of lease, and I have a few references I can provide if you'd like.
Hey I'm Zoe, I love the outdoors, cooking, socialising and of course down time. I'm pretty laid back and willing to have a laugh. Nonetheless i am tidy, organised and responsible. I'm currently in my 3rd (of 4) year of a Arst-Science(Psyc) degree at the ANU and i work casually on the side.
Hi there! I'm an active young woman who works for Cisco out at Brindabella Park. I grew up here, so plenty of local knowledge. I don't have pets just YET, but I'm planning on rescuing a doggo or two, because I love dogs and also they're the key to happiness. This means that, if possible, I'd love a place with a yard. It doesn't have to be massive, as I'm in the habit of walking any dogs I have twice a day, every day. I regularly go to the gym - Eighty8 near my work, Anytime Fitness, and BlocHaus climbing gym - so I'm out of the house until quite late on weekdays. On weekends, I like relaxing around the house, moaning about being tired, then finally dragging myself off my butt to buy expensive brunch like the usual entitled millennial (but I hate avocado - ask me why I haven't bought a house yet!) and hang out with my mates. I am not at all a morning person; in fact I hate them. And I'm also not really a party person unless someone else does all the work and drags me out the door. I'm really not suited to a student household or a house with more than two other people - I've done my time in massive sharehouses, and I'm not about that life anymore. I do like cooking, but I'm pretty boring, because I usually bulk cook everything once a week and then eat frozen leftovers. Sometimes I feel inspired and make cakes/biscuits/assorted baked goods which I expect to share, because please take all those sweet things away from me. I definitely have too many clothes, so expect to triple your wardrobe if you're a size 8/shoe size 7, because I share. If you're a bloke, you can share too, but don't stretch out anything expensive! I enjoy video games, and I have a nice PC and an Xbox 360 (yes, I refuse to update, that workhorse is still going strong). I also read a lot! In summary: - One or two other people to share; - Small yard for a doggy; - Not a party animal; - Tragically single, so no bf/gf to awkwardly meet, but occasional sobbing; - Sometimes sing in the shower, but am actually decent; - Unfortunately shed long blonde hair everywhere; - Don't smoke, do drink infrequently; - Relaxed, full time employed, also I smell nice.
Hello! I'm a third year student at the ANU, studying Law and Economics. As a housemate, I'm clean, respectful and reliable. I've lived at college on campus during my first two years in Canberra, and since then I have been share-housing so I understand how important it is to be a responsible housemate! I like being social and having a chat every now and then but I also value my downtime and respect that others need their space as well. Outside of study and work, I love getting active and enjoy bushwalking, cycling and getting outdoors when I can. I'm looking for a room from around the 23rd of September but can be flexible for the right fit!
Hi I'm moving to Canberra for work, I've been in Melbourne and in sharehouses for the past 7 years so I know how to look after a place and be fun to have around. I work in the media, and outside of work I love AFL (playing and watching), reading and Netflix, and catching up with friends. Move in date is flexible in the first few weeks of November.
I am a 31yo male Engineer on the Canberra Light Rail. I try to stay fit and exercise (or just not get too fat) , but I do enjoy eating like a king on the weekends. a bit about me, I enjoy going to the gym, salsa dancing, my beloved Nissan weekend car, and hopefully get into some pilates for my ridiculously poor flexibility! On the weekends i dont mind a few frothies and a good burger with some banter. i enjoy going out and having a laugh , and i equally dont mind weekends chilling at home on the couch with a movie. As for house arrangements - I am very easy going and tidy, clean up after myself and easy to get along with. Im flexible with whoever I live with. Its not my first time doing the house share, so I know that everyone is different and theres always a solution so that everyone is happy. Wouldn't mind someone whos down for a few drinks or sharing a meal and some banter on the weekends! Cheers! Claudio
I'm an experienced house-sharer, considerate of others, clean, respectful, social / independent. Creative and inquisitive soul... Enjoy the outdoors, travelling, going on hikes, photography, nature, reading, seeing live music, catching up with friends, music festivals, eating (fairly) healthy. Seeking some funky folk to share with. Normally i'd start my own share house but this rental market is crazy. I'm looking for : inner north suburb preferably. Large room with space for queen bed, desk, bookshelf. Prefer a nice, relaxed and reasonably quiet (ie: non party till 4am every night) household where one can unwind and rest and sleep without interruption. Enjoy reading and listening to music, watching TV some nights (ABC / SBS / Netflix), playing acoustic guitar, tinkering around with creative musical projects, sharing a meal now and then, etc... Home Life : I enjoy social time when living with others but also value my own space. I like to keep things fairly clean, but i'm not a clean freak. Most of my friends are aged in their 30s so sharing around that age group would suit. If you think we'd be a good fit get in touch! Cheers Anthony.
Hi, I'm Xiaoling YAO from China. I'll study in ANU for my Master Degrees of Statistics in the next 2 years. So, I haven't decided my lease length yet. I might be a little nerd but I'm a open and friendly girl. As a Chinses, of course I can cook. So if you want to share dinner with me, it is absolutely welcome. I don't smoke, have no pet (although I like them), and I'm single. I sometimes like to listen to some folk but am not keen to music. Sometimes, I like to draw something to kill time, I think that I'm good at it in some degree :P. Well, I don't have driving license, so, it is important for me to live in a riding range from campus. Thank you for your attention.
British guy moving to Canberra from London to take up a postdoc at ANU. I'm 30 years old, and I'm a tidy, considerate and sociable housemate. Interests and activities include cycling, hiking, and making/playing music. ANU can put me up in holding accommodation when I arrive on October 8, but I'd like to get on my own two feet as quickly as possible so I'm looking for a place that's available any time between then and Christmas. Up either for joining an existing houseshare or getting one going if there's anyone in a similar situation!
We are a couple relocating for work and sport. Brittany is an Australian representative athlete with full time training commitments and James is a sport professional working in the sport industry. We are both very friendly people, easy to get along with and no fuss. We generally don't spend much time at home as we are always out either training and working.
Hi, I am a doctor moving from Sydney to Canberra for work for a minimum of 6 months, most likely 1 year +. I am clean, respectful, and enjoy a night out here and there, whilst also appreciating relaxing at home. I am looking to find accomodation with like minded people. I am passionate about music, cinema, travel and love speaking French!
Hey I'm George! I'm from Sydney and new to Canberra. I'm a graphic // web designer starting a job at the ABC for their political news team. I'm 27, I play the cello sometimes, love to share a wine and am excited by the amount of sky and stars Canberra has on offer. I'm sad to leave my beautiful share house family in Sydney, but looking forward to meeting lovely new ones in Canberra. Let me know if this sounds at all like you. George :)
