If you're looking for a fellow 21 y.o male student at ANU, look no further! How would I describe myself? Mmmm. Curious, nerdy with a hint of fun but sensible. Needless to say, pays bills on time and subtly appreciates sharing stories about our sometimes mundane but necessary unfolding of life. Oh, I'll never shy away from occasional midnight scrabbles! Or Monopoly, yeah, monopoly.
I am a friendly and kind person who enjoys socialising with friends, being active and outdoors and having a netflix binge. I have lived in share houses for the past 5 years. I am a clean, respectful and tidy housemate. I have recently moved to canberra to begin a graduate job as an occupational therapist. I have a beautiful 8yo dog named milly whose currently still in Victoria until I can relocate her. I am looking for people who are interested in teamups, laid back and tidy nature who also are dog lovers 🙂
I am moving to Canberra from Brisbane to start an APS graduate program (full time work) in mid February and am looking for a room in an apartment/unit/townhouse, preferably with a female roommate (20s-30s). I am organised, clean, pretty quiet and respect the importance of privacy but also would love a roommate to chat and hang out with after work (over a glass of wine or a movie/netflix) Love to be social on weekends and having people over for dinner or going away on a daytrip. Other things about me: can cook, have lived overseas, am a cat lover, and am into fitness and snowsports (as well as chocolate). Happy to bring any furniture or appliances needed! NB: I have an older burmese cat I would love to bring down with me but its not a requirement.
I’m Haynes, 23 years old, and from Melbourne! I’ve just landed a full-time job in the APS and I’m moving to Canberra in January. As it's my first time living in Canberra, I’m keen to explore new venues/bars/restaurants and see what the city has to offer. I'm a very respectful, tidy and happy housemate who loves to be social but can also respect others personal space. I don't have any pets or dependents & I'm interested in securing long-term accommodation. Things I like: - Food festivals - Films - Good coffee (basically a pre-requisite to living in Melbourne) - 80’s music - Reading - Hiking/jogging - Cycling Ideally I'm looking for my own room in a friendly house. I’m interested in a long-term rental close to the city or universities – but I’m flexible. Shoot me a message, I’d love to hear from you.
Hello future flatmate! My partner and I are originally from Sydney, and we are both currently studying law at ANU. We are clean, friendly and sociable people, and are used to living with people after our experiences in shared accommodation last year. We are also responsible with our housework, and willing to do our share around the house. We are excited to meet new people, and hope to hear from you soon! :)
Hello! 24yo here about to move down from Sydney to start a role in the public service. While not really into partying til late, I love meeting new friends and will gladly have some fun over food, drinks, board games n movies. Most often found chilling on the PC/laptop and listening to music. It's my first time moving interstate but i've previously lived a year in Japan. I respect people's space/privacy and always clean up after myself. I love travelling and visiting museums and national parks - pretty excited to see what Canberra has to offer so will probably spend weekends out exploring when not taking a break at home. Personality-wise I am told that I'm friendly, easy-going and positive. Flexible around moving-in dates however the starting date for my full-time job is in the second week of February. Preferred length is stated as 6 months but is really flexible. Always happy to team up and establish a small sharehouse of 2-3 like-minded people also!
Moving to Canberra from Melbourne for a full-time six-month internship. In my other life I am a 23 year old guy, working and studying, half-way through my Masters of Physics at University of Melbourne - I like reading, hiking, watching trippy tv and meeting friends. I've been living in share houses for four or five years and am good at it - in the sense that I'm always up for a chat or a drink, am tidy, and always happy to do my share of the work. In Melbourne I have a beloved cat who I will be leaving for six months, so am super keen to fill the gaping void in my heart with other animals or new friends. Equally though, I will be working hard and will be happy to live in a more professionally oriented environment too.
Just moved from London to Sydney and now planning my move to Canberra after getting a grad job in the public sector. Keen to live with someone who's just as busy as me (i.e. working full-time) but also enjoys a chat over a glass of wine every now and then :)
Hey! I am a mature, considerate, responsible and tidy person who loves my sport and is moving from Sydney to Canberra to study. I am very easy going and like to socialise but also keep to myself at times. I would like to move in for anywhere between a week to a few months at the least and then possibly longer depending on the situation :) Although my preferences are listed below, I am with any suburb/location in Canberra as long a there is parking :)
Hi, I am a new male ANU PhD student. I am looking for a private room in a super clean, quite, and close to ANU campus place with internet and essential facility. I like exercising daily but not to and from campus, so the accessibility to public transportation is a must and close to market. Thanks
I'm looking for a short term stay (6-8 weeks) before I head overseas for a three week holiday, back for a couple of weeks then off for an extended period for work. I'm a professional, early 40's guy who is active, laid back and respectful. I started work in Canberra late last year, I'm easy going, clean, no mess, no stress, no fuss kinda guy. Looking in around South Canberra preferable Kingston which is close to work.
I'm a full-time student moving from Brisbane after just finishing degrees in Engineering and Science at the University of Queensland. I'll be starting an Astrophysics PhD at the Australian National University (Mt Stromlo Observatory) in March. I'm very chilled out, mature, tidy, not easily annoyed, enjoy having friendly chats, and exploring all that Canberra life has to offer! I like to keep the house clean, and am very respectful of others' personal space. I'm also pretty light-hearted, and enjoy socialising and having a laugh. I'd be most interested in living with other like-minded students, but also enjoy interacting with all different types of people.
I am starting my Masters in Economics at ANU from 20 February, and am looking to relocate from Sydney to Canberra in the next few weeks. A bit about me: I am 23 and easy going, looking to move in with likeminded people. I have been sharing with my housemates in Sydney since March last year, so am well versed in the art of share housing. I know when to keep to myself, but also happy to share the occasional dinner/drinks. I clean up after myself always, and contribute to the household regularly. I am easy going, and will be working part time and studying the rest of the time. I also make a great cup of tea.
Professional looking to start a share house with one or two other people. Prefer 30+ and who are clean, tidy and trustworthy. I travel for work a bit so am not always home. Will be relocating to Canberra in Jan 17. Yes, I am in my 40's (insert sad face here) but I am very sociable and am down to earth and love to be able to have a laugh with my roomies. On the flip side am respectful of needing space and downtime. I stay fairly quiet during the week as I am an early starter for work, but do enjoy a wine and a chat, especially by the end of the week !! Love to cook and am happy to share a meal or go to the local ...
Hey I'm Jo, 29 years old Architect. I'm original from Germany and moved to Canberra permanently. I'm mostly busy with work during the week and like to catch up with friends on the weekend. If I have time for cooking ;) I like to share my meals with my flatmates and enjoy a chat over a glass of wine. My current flatmates would highly recommend me ;) I'm also happy to team up as I have a few inspections now. Moving time would be around end of February/Beginning of March. Feel free to message me if you have any questions or offers :) Cheers, Jo
Freshly graduated out of the ANU and looking for a place to stay. Im a graduate in Masters of International Relations and a former Public Relations consultant. Looking for a nice homely atmosphere to live in and fun people to share the house with. I like cooking and consider hygiene very important! Very happy to share an occasional beer or wine and watch movies and tv shows.
Hi! I'm from Melbourne and will be moving up to Canberra in January to start a graduate position with the Australian Public Service. As I'll be new to Canberra, I'm keen to explore the city's food and live music venues as well as check out some of the national parks and scenery outside the city on weekends. To live with - I am easy going and sociable, and make a great TV binge watching companion. I also love cooking, brunch... a lot, hiking, tennis and snowboarding (although I wish my skills reflected this more accurately). I'm hoping to find one other person to establish a share house with and find a place relatively close to the city in Braddon, Ainslie, Reid or Turner. Feel free to shoot me a message - I'd love to meet up for coffee and discuss things further :)
I'm a student at the ANU who has recently returned from an exchange semester in Uppsala, Sweden and am looking for somewhere to live for 6 months while I complete the last semester of my degree. I enjoy getting to know new people, hanging out with friends, travelling and learning new languages. I'm from sydney so I also love visiting the beach.
I'm relocating from metropolitan Melbourne to commence an APS graduate programme in February 2017. I'm perhaps different to other flatmates, may be its an age thing or maturity. I'm a Taurus if that means anything to some, it just sums up in abbreviation as to what kind of person I am. For fun... I'm into computers, computer games, gadgets and highly sophisticated toys (gadgets... again). I like landscape photography, cycling (road, mtb or electric). I also like racket sports (e.g. Squash, Badminton), gym and also driving in addition to exploration and getaways. I generally keep to myself and will either ride, walk or drive to work.
I am a very clean and tidy person. I'm not loud, I don't smoke nor drink. I don't go out clubbing and what not. I do like to socialise but I respect when you need alone time. I am from a place near Bega and I will be starting uni at UC on the 13th of February.
Hello! I am 22 years old and am moving over to Canberra from Perth in January 2017. I studied environmental science and geography and am going over to Canberra to start a grad job. I am looking for a place that is clean and tidy with a mix of social and solitude vibes. I went on exchange during uni and did the crazy social (not so tidy) house which I'm not looking for again - I'd just love to find something more clean and chilled out with house mates who'd like to have a drink/chat every now and again but where I can retire to my room and binge watch Netflix. Send me a message if you'd like to know anything more about me :)
Originally from Sydney and going into my third year at ANU studying commerce :) I've just come back from exchange to Canada and am looking for a nice and friendly house to stay for my next year of uni :) I'm tidy, respectful but overall a very laid back room mate!
I am easy-going. I am okay with occasional conversations but can also respect privacy. I will be staying home only for the night since I'll be at school most of the time. Most importantly, I share food, and I think that's beautiful. :)
Hi! My names Mik, I’m 26 years old and I’ll be moving down to Canberra from Sydney mid-March as I’ve sold my soul to the Australian Public Service :). I’m looking for someone to team up with for a 2-bedroom place with a garage. I’ll be moving out of my current share house with most of the furniture so moving into a furnished place/room in an existing share house isn’t an option for me. On the upside, you won’t need to worry about a fridge, dining table or couches! I’d describe myself as a clean & respectful housemate who’s laid back & enjoys good company. I work full-time as an electrical engineer and outside of work I’m into rock climbing, scuba diving or just chilling at home with a good book. I also dabble in guitar & piano and am always up for a jam. If you'd like to know more about me/are interested in teaming up, feel free to shoot me a message.
I'm studying graphic design for the 3rd year, and I'm coming from Finland to Canberra for my exchange studies in ANU. I'm a nerd and a Masterchef Australia enthusiast who loves movies, food, animals and people. I like to cook and I'm not too messy nor loud. Cheers!
I'm currently working full time in the city and would like to find a place walking distance to work. Outside of work, I dance a couple of times a week and may try to fit in other activities. I'm organised, clean, respectful and pretty easy going. I enjoy sharing a meal and unwinding the day together but I am also fine doing my own things.
I'm 28yrs old, full time employee working in a bank. Clean and tidy, Fun loving, love to eat and travel. Own PS3 and can play games all day. I also have a washing machine, dryer, microwave, fridge which I'm happy to share. If you already have all or any of these things, I'd need a place to store all this. Enjoys music and movies. Looking for flatmate who enjoys similar hobbies. I'm new in Canberra and don't know much about this place and would love to explore. Flatmate who can become a friend will be awesome. I can drink anything but not a regular drinker. Don't like smoking next to me. Love to chat but need quiet time as well. I own a motorbike and will need a secured garage to park my bike overnight. Contact me
I'm a full-time public servant in my 30s, and a librarian, so you know that I can be mature, responsible and keep my place tidy and in order. At the same time I'm quite sociable, and love a chat over a cup of tea or something stronger - and I prefer to live in a place where the people there are sociable and make it a home, rather than just a place where people live and sleep. That said, I also appreciate my own quiet time when I need it. I also like to stay active and creative when I can - I enjoy swing dancing, cycling, a bit of hiking, playing the piano and ukulele (though not too late at night!). I'm not a huge sitting around and watching tv person, though I'm not too fussed if you are. Also like to go out and catch a bit of culture around town - or at least a live band. I've lived around the world, and finally moving to Canberra to call it my home for the foreseeable future, so I'm keen to settle into a place that's right for me - but also right for you.
We're a Canadian and Australian couple looking for a place to rent for a few months in Canberra. We love cooking, travelling and staying active... on the couch... with netflix (though Alaina is a keen swimmer and Ari is a keen runner). We are social and enjoy meeting new people, but also value a relaxing wine night. We're looking for a place with flatmates who are friendly, chill and happy to have two new faces around.
Moving up from Melbourne to start full time work. Looking for a nice place to live in Canberra, ideally with other like-minded people. Easy going, social, and a non-smoker. Interested in sports, especially rowing, skiing and rugby, and always keen for a chat. Feel free to drop me a line if you think we'd get on. Cheers!
Hi! I'm Kat and i'm looking for a place to live in Canberra in February 2017. I'm moving down from Queensland for a graduate role and am hoping to live close-ish to the city with a few other people (male or female). I will be staying in accom provided by my department from Feb 4th - 21st and will be looking for a place during that time if you'd like to meet in person. I'm easygoing and a go-with-the-flow kind of girl who likes to socialise, but I also like my alone time and respect others need for privacy. I am clean and tidy (but not too obsessive about it) and love to cook! In my downtime I like to work out and explore new places. Ideally would like to live with someone who can be a respectful housemate, but also a friend - the kinda people down for Mexican Mondays, GoT sessions and a drink and a chat on the weekends :)
Hey everyone I'm Sunil and I am due to start work as a public servant in the beginning of February in Canberra. I'll be relocating from Perth and am looking for a place to stay in as soon as possible. I don't have any specific preferences when it comes to housemates and open to stay with anyone. A little bit about me, I enjoy watching and playing sports including tennis, soccer and cricket and up for a jog or a gym session throughout the week. I am working towards being an okay cook (currently a little hit and miss with my cooking) and am willing to do the occasional cook off with my future flatmates. Apart from sports and cooking, I am a bit of a book worm, enjoy playing board games as well as watching TV shows and movies on Netflix and I do the occasional binge watch when I have the time. I am clean and organised and am very considerate to privacy and downtime when needed. I don't consider myself an extrovert but nonetheless like to socalise and spend time with friends rather than spending all my time at home. Lastly I would like to have the occasional dinner and drink with future housemates and I would love to be friends rather than just another person living on the premises. Hope to meet some of you soon!
Hi, I am a full time public servant who studies part-time at the ANU. I work in Acton so am looking to share a house nearby. I love riding my bike (I don't have a car), keeping up to date with the news and learning new tricks! Not adverse to hitting up the town or going out, but do also enjoy quiet time. I used to play ultimate frisbee until I smashed my ankle up good - now I lick my wounds. Am currently looking for a new weekend activity which doesn't involve running and turning!
Moving to Canberra to start Full time employment with Geoscience Australia. I am very social but enjoy and respect personal time and space, also very clean in kitchen and shared areas and expect the same from other housemates, Personal rooms are yours to do with as you want. I am quite active, usually training one sport or another (mostly Judo and Ultimate Frisbee), and enjoy getting out of the house on weekends and traveling, my girlfriend would visit for weekends from time to time I am looking for somewhere reasonably quiet, but do enjoy a drink on a social night every now and then, I am starting to amass a collection of board games. Have lived with and get along with both male and female housemates, and age is not an issue, also LGBT friendly. If I sound like you could live with me let me know, Cheers, James
Just finished high school from Melbourne and looking for a place to stay while studying at ANU. I love cooking, I'm into sport and love going to local gigs for live music. I also have a car so already planning weekend adventures around Canberra.
Hi, just recently received a job offer to be working within the APS, looking to move in ASAP, as I start work on the 15/02/17. Any where in the Canberra region is ok with me. I'm 25, relaxed easy going person. Happy to have a night out, or have a lazy time at home, or even jump in the car and go for a road trip, such as going for a fish, or even a wonder around the city. Currently my standard day involves work, then training finished with either tv, random shows or reading a book.
Am born and raised in Sydney, and am moving down to Canberra for a job with the APS. I'm neat and tidy in communal areas, I'm social, but respect a roommate's privacy and alone time. I'm a pretty active guy and am into my social sports, hiking and camping and big into rock climbing. I enjoy cooking, and am reasonably health conscious. Love a social drink and and evening chat.
24 year old professional. I work full-time in the city. I love to keep active and enjoy being outdoors. I enjoy curling up on the couch with a good book or TV show. I am an easy going, clean and tidy person. I am looking for a group house where we can share the occasional group meal or drink but also respect each other's space. I have a 2 year old Russian Blue cat which I ideally like to bring with me. I am a non smoker.
Hey! I'm a future ANU student from QLD looking for a place in/around Canberra to move into in march/April. I'm quiet, energetic yet easygoing, bubbly and friendly. I'm also a personal trainer and I absolutely love animals! I have one little shy grey cat, who I would love to accompany me on my move if possible, but I understand if that's not possible. I'm keen to either move into a room, sharehouse, homestay or find someone to rent a flat with. Please message me if you want any more details!
Hello! My name is Nicole, I'm 25 and have just moved to Canberra from Sydney for a 1 year contract new graduate job in the hospital. I'm looking forward to exploring what this lovely city has to offer! I love good coffee, wine and baking.
Hi, I'm Grace! I'm looking to share a place somewhere in the inner South or inner North. I'm moving to Canberra in January to start work as a graduate in the public service. I am clean and tidy. I enjoy going for walks, reading a good book and photography. I am looking forward to socialising and getting to know my housemate, but also understand the need for personal space and alone time. Am looking forward to new experiences and meeting new people.
Emi - I'm an (initially) shy half-Japanese-half-Aussie student from Sydney about to undertake my first year of university at ANU (Bachelor of Science). I play piano, guitar and sing; and enjoy powerlifting and swimming. I'm a qualified lifeguard - so you'll have someone in the house that knows First Aid and CPR - haha! I like a clean house and am often prone to being a super neat freak when I'm stressed, but when I'm not stressed, I'm a normal kind of clean. Very easy-going but dedicated student when I have to be. Luke - I'm an Aussie bloke moving to Canberra to study at ANU. I like powerlifting and gaming in my free time even though I'm terrible at both. I'm pretty laid back as well, which is a good thing most of the time. Together - We are a respectful couple that won't make you feel like you're third-wheeling. We have already been living together so there won't be any 'first-time-living-together-fighting'. We both enjoy existential questioning, deep conversations and debating in differing opinions...so would love if you could join in!
I've lived almost exclusively in share houses for the last 8 years (preceded by 6 years of boarding school) so I know all about being respectful of other peoples' spaces and reliable with rent, shared expenses etc. I'm super clean and tidy and I don't like mooching off others, so I expect the same from my house mates. I work full time in the public service so I won't be home much during the weekdays. Weeknights I'm usually pretty content just to do my own thing but I'm happy to jump on board social events too, especially when someone else organises it. It usually doesn't take much twisting my arm to get up to adventures on the weekends though. If you want to know anything else just let me know or feel free to do a cheeky Facebook stalk Also my move date is flexible! I had to put one down so it's just a rough estimate. Cheers!
Hello 😊 I am a recent graduate from Brisbane and moving to Canberra for full time work in the public service. People often say I am easy-going & responsible. I am clean and tidy and I also enjoy cooking. I like to get out on weekends to socialise, however I also value quite time. I love travelling, seeing places and trying new things.
My name is Peter and I've recently finished a grad program at the Department of Infrastructure after moving down to Canberra at the beginning of the year. I'm a pretty easy going guy, happy to get along with anyone and fairly social but also get that everyone enjoys their alone time. I'm a fan of doing shared meals, having a chilled drink or board/card game and just lounging in front of high/poor quality TV. I'm pretty well house trained (thanks mum), clean but not pedantic and a reasonable cook (if you're a fan of pasta bake/Thai curries). Let me know if you'd like to meet up!
Friendly, easy-going, tidy. Enjoy keeping active and watching sport. Also enjoy social activities and a good coffee.
Fun, tidy and easy-going, I'm a bit of a goofball, I like to keep the house in a reasonably clean state but am not OCD. I enjoy my quiet time but also love to sit around with a beer or glass of wine and have a chat. I have a pet cat who is very good with other animals and warms up to new people quite easily. I'm from country NSW but have lived in Canberra for almost a year now, studying and working. Would love to find a pre-existing place that accepts pets or team up with some people to form a new sharehouse. Ideally would like to team up with 2 guys similar in age who are cat friendly and looking to live in the inner North or South of the city. I usually spend time in the garden or going for walks, reading and I love hitting up Canberra's jazz bars and live music scene for a drink and a dance.
I'm a busy late-20s professional working full time in the public service. I'm from Canberra, have been living in Sydney for the last couple of years but returning home for work. I'm sociable and easygoing, extremely clean and respectful of people's space. I love fashion, food, reading, tv and movies.
Hey all! I am an international student from Hong Kong and will be studying in ANU. I am moving alone so I don't know anyone in Australia/Canberra. I am a respectful and down to earth person who is a bit quiet at first but can be fun to talk to when I get to know a person. I like watching movies, reading, listening to music, napping on a beach, exploring new places, eating different kinds of cuisine, local street food and having a few drinks with friends. I don't smoke and I don't have pets. I am a tidy person and don't make noise. I would love to live with people who are friendly and tidy. Flat-wise I prefer a place within walking/bicycles distance of ANU. I don't mind sharing bathroom but I prefer to have my own furnished lockable room.
