Julia and me have arrived in Sydney after travelling around India and Asia for the past 3 months. We were both living and working in London before that, but decided it was time for an adventure! Julia works as a financial crime consultant and Joe works as a learning and development guy, both for international companies. We are excited about living in Sydney and planning to use weekends and holidays to explore Australia. We are chilled, respectful, clean (personal hygiene, and shared spaces included) and upbeat! We've lived in shared houses for around 6 years so have a good idea of how to make house sharing fun and successful. We are good at chilling, and always up for communal fun (did someone say BBQ?!), but also happy doing our own thing, and we like cooking with/ for housemates. We are both from Wales (the awesome country that England is next to), so we can tell you loads about castles and stuff!
Finished backpacking around Australia, and want to settle down now in Sydney. I'm originally from the UK and have been in Australia now for 10 months and have finished my dreaded farm work so there's no need to worry about me abandoning ship. I'm a very outgoing, sociable flat mate who enjoys staying fit, cooking, chilling out and the occasional glass of wine - but at the same time I know when and how to respect the privacy of my fellow flat mates. Looking for some like minded people to share a flat with - would prefer a private room but understand my budget kinda limits my choices and would happily share a room with another female.
I have got Permanent Right in Australia and determine to make immigration to this country from April, 2017. I am a geologist and my major is geotechnical engineering. I want to find a job in Sydney and to rent a room for my accommodation. I am an open-mind man, and want to chat with other people. Since I come from China, I want make an adaptation to this society and become a part of it. I have a lot of hobbies, including cycling, collecting fountain pens and watches, receiving satellite signals, playing video and TV games. Soon you will find I am an interesting person. When I was a student in the middle school and college, I lived in host families. Therefore I don’t have problems to stay together with other people. I am a non-smoker, and don’t have pets. Since I am an immigrant, I don’t have interesting to hold parties in the house. To find a job is my first priority in the current stage.
Clean brit who loves pretty much everything. Easy going, happy, sociable and work full time at a bar where I can give you cheap drinks.
I'm quite and respectful of people and their property and can be trusted to be mindful of living with other people. Not into parties or bad behaviour am animal friendly especially for cats but like animals all round. Like the quiet life but will mix with others. Currently am living in Queensland but travel to Sydney frequently and would like to stay for a longer time. In the past I have let a spare room when I owned my unit in Summer Hill.
Hi! Looking for a relaxed Person to potentially look at leasing a two bed place, I work full time in medical and busy days so generally like to chill at home but also enjoy a catch up with friends / gym / go to a event or gig etc through the week. Would ideally like to team up with someone in a similar position, enjoys home chilling also but has their own social life / does their own thing but also likes to chill out over dinner/a drink / invite friends back etc :) I do have a cute little baby Cockateil that is very tame & friendly :) so am looking for a place that allows birds. 😬 Get in touch if you think this sounds this something you're looking for also Liss :)
23 year old professional, working full time in the CBD and studying full time in the city as well. Friendly, polite and social - love to chit chat over a wine but also enjoy personal downtime.
Hi, We are an Australian couple originally from the small country towns in the Southern Highlands. Chris is in sales for software and I am in sales for wine and also pursuing acting. We both work Monday-Friday. We are of mature nature and our lifestyle reflects this, so we are more keen on living with people older say late 20's to early 40's. We like healthy living and go to the gym together. We don't want a party house, dinners and BBQ's are fine though. We are moving out of our 5 bedroom place in Leichhardt because we want a tidier/nicer/closer place. We would take care of the lease and fully furnish the lounge/dining and equip the kitchen/laundry with appliances. We are looking at inner Sydney suburbs only for convenience and want to team up with others wanting a modern and clean place for long term stay (1year+). Looking around the price range of $340-450 per bedroom and 4 bedroom minimum house. Preferably with a backyard that we intend to put a chicken coup and compost bin in...because whats not to love about free eggs, birds, and caring for the environment? If pets are allowed we may eventually get a puppy. Some perks of living with us: - I work as a wine advisor so I get to bring home a lot of wine which others are more than welcome to, we prefer red so I will literally give away the whites. - I have a keen interest in interior design so the house will look very stylish - Chris is extremely organised so bills and rent will be dealt with efficiently - We are 6ft+ so can get things from high places for you - We enjoy gardening so maintenance would be fairly simple - Respectful, friendly and clean!! - Will keep to ourselves but enjoy a good chat If this sounds like we could be a good match for living arrangements, shoot me a message about yourself. We are on the hunt for a property now so will be looking to move in around April/May time. Look forward to meeting you, Kate and Chris
Hello! My small dog and I are looking for a home. We are looking for housemates who LOVE DOGS. I am looking to live within walking distance to a train station or light rail station as I don't drive. Sorry, I am not looking to share with any smokers. I'm a 28 years young full-time 9am-6pm working professional in the photography industry in the CBD. I'm a non-smoker and born in Sydney. I am honest, responsible and clean. I keep my personal and communal areas clean and tidy. I am respectful of other people and their personal space and property. I'm friendly, like to hangout/chillout and like to get to know people. At the same time, I'm quiet, shy and like to keep to myself as well. I'm looking for a place to live where it's quiet, drama-free and not a party house as a good night's sleep is very important to me. During the working week, I like to take my dog for walks, go to the gym and go to bed as early as I can. On the weekends, I like to treat my dog to the dog beach/park, skateboard and cook. I'm looking for flatmates who wouldn't mind feeding my dog once in a while when I stay out past dinner time if I'm out at a music concert or doing something at night. Of course I'd be more than happy to doggysit my flatmates's pets if they'd wish :) My dog is a 6 years young male Chihuahua. He is doggy door toilet trained, desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. He is a clean indoor dog and sleeps on my bed. He needs to have access to indoors and outdoors when I'm not home so he can go to the toilet outside and sleep inside. I have a removable doggy door panel which is simply a vertical panel of glass with a doggy door at the bottom which slots in next to a sliding door. He loves people but needs time to warm up to them, so he is shy and nervous initially. He is friendly and playful with other small dogs. He hasn't lived with another dog before, but I think a dog friend would be good company for him as he doesn't like to be home alone. Sorry, he is not cat friendly. He loves going for walks, playing ball and following me everywhere around the home. He does bark when someone leaves or enters the home, but only for about 30 seconds. He also barks if he sees another dog walking outside from the home window. So we are looking to live with people who are understanding and tolerant of these now-and-again barks. He is very protective of me, and becomes scared easily if treated badly by someone and may nip to defend himself. So please, we are looking to live with DOG LOVERS ONLY who will show him lots of love, and won't grab him or yell at him aggressively. The only piece of 'furniture' I would be bringing to the communal part of the house is my 17 years young fish and his 90 litre fish tank. It would be ideal to have the tank in a communal area as he likes to watch people walk past and he swims after them. It would be fantastic to place the fish tank close to a sink for easier changing of water. My interests/hobbies include going to the gym, skateboarding, going to music concerts, taking my dog on mini outdoor adventures, watching movies, film photography, board games, and arts and crafts. I would organise my own food as I cook fresh meat and vegetables for my dog as well. I would most likely cook my week's worth of food on the weekend then freeze it so I don't have to cook during the working week.
23 yo full-time student at Sydney University and working part-time near Martin Place. I'm extremely easy going and likes to keep things clean and tidy. I love share glass of wine and have a nice chat after work/weekends :) Cheers Silvia
Hi, I was born in Seoul, but I've lived in NZ and England for a few years - truly excited to be back in Oceania. I am an active person who likes running, acrobatics, and poledancing, but I can also be as lazy as a pug in food coma. I occasionally enjoy wine but, as I am quite lightweight, it'd be great if my potential flatmates also love sharing a bottle. Due to a short-attention span, I can't sit in front of telly much, but can hold a good conversation. I like meeting people, going for a swim at the weekends, and visiting some art gallery from time to time. I also love animals (I could walk your dog if you have one!) and achieve therapeutic effects from washing dishes. Hope I sound like an alright roomie. Mona
28 year old Brit looking for house share in inner west or city. I'm a social worker! Love wine (sav blanc) my palette is not mature enough for red, music being social and I like to think I can hold some form of intelligent convo!!
Hello I'm Hannah, I'm 25 years old. I have just moved to Sydney and I work full time. I would say I'm a pretty chatty and social person. But I also value down time. I think it is good to have a mix of both in a shared living arrangement. I clean up after myself and know how to respect shared common areas. Looking for a place I can be comfortable in to call home.
Hello! My name is Ruby! I'm 22 years old and in my final year of Law and Communications at UTS. I also work at UTS in student engagement and as a research assistant in the Law faculty. During the week I'm not home much but on the weekends I like to hang out, read, watch movies and cook! I'm an easygoing housemate who is respectful and tidy
Originally from London but been in New Zealand for the past 3 years. Moving over to Sydney to start a full time job at a management consulting after finishing my degree in Auckland. Likely to be working long hours during the week but down to socialise and see Sydney on the weekends. Pretty clean & tidy, always keen for a beer & to watch some netflix / sports of any kind. Open to any lengths of stay from a few months onwards
Hi! I recently moved back to Sydney after working in London for a couple of years and am looking to rent a room within ~30 mins commute of the CBD. I currently work full time for a fund manager, so it would be great to find a place that is easy to get a full night's sleep without too much disruption during the work week...but weekend parties are fine!
Hi I'm Heidi :) I just arrived in Sydney and I love the city. I would like too stay for the at least the next 3 month in Sydney. I'm super friendly, clean and tidy. A 31 year old, not-so-Finnish-looking-Finn who has just moved to Sydney after living in London for the past 5 years. I work in a media agency in North Sydney and am looking for a place to call home. I love travelling and exploring new food joints, though do like to cook and bake at home as well ;)
Hi! My name is Charli, female, full time employed, ex hairdresser now working in an office. Work in CBD, currently residing in Wattle Grove. Looking to move into a new already furnished home exclusively FROM the 1st June 2017 need a bigger room, closer to work. CBD or Inner West is preferable. I've came home from a 3 year stint in the UK in March 2015 and I'm looking to do more travel. Ultimately looking for a long term double bed room furnished or unfurnished with lots of light! I'd love to hear from anyone that's like minded. I'm big on Sunday brunches and try to go on a coastal walk every so often. I don't smoke but I love my wines. I don't have a car and don't want one, so will need to be extremely close to a train station or bus stop. Budget is max $300 (bills inc) per week. I'm easy to live with, clean, considerate and am not much of a partier or socialite when I'm back here - saving all my money for travels! I don't party much, I work alot, but im very friendly. I consider myself clean and considerate. Let me know if I suit your household dynamic! Charli
Hey guys! A little about me, I moved to Sydney from Canada for a digital marketing job last year and I currently live in Glebe. At home I’m either reading, working, listening to music, or netflixing. On the weekend I like checking out movies at the Dendy or going out for drinks. Would love to live in a social house and share dinners, vino etc! Feel free to message me if you have any other questions. Cheers!
Easy going, down to earth person. Originally from Cambodia, however, I grew up in Singapore. Currently in my second year of Bachelor of Business in Hotel management at the Hotel School Sydney in the CBD. I also work at the Intercontinental Sydney part-time (4 days a week). I usually work night shifts while going to class in the morning so I won't be home much. If I do I would be in my room sleeping. I enjoy cooking and a very good cook as well. Would love to share a meal with you or have house dinner. I alway clean after myself and would consider myself to be a clean and tidy person. During my free time, I enjoy watching movies, going to the beach, hang out with friends or just relax at home.
Available on the 1st of April. I am a male 24 years old that recently got out of defence. I work full time and study part time at tafe which means i'll be gone very early in the morning and come home very late.I am an easy-going person. Friendly, love a good laugh and open-minded so there will never be short of fun conversations. I like my quiet times but also try to socialise on the weekend; love the beaches and great Sydney night scenes. Prefer it not to be a party house. Looking for long term stay. Kind regards, Eray
Hey there! My name is Peyton, I am 20 years old from Perth and moving to Sydney in July as i've been accepted into NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Art) studying acting. I am a chill gal who enjoys meeting new people. I love to have fun and go out on the town but also love relaxing at home. As an aspiring musician/actress I obviously have the best taste in music and films so if you are artsy or love any of those things you are in luck! (P.S I am an avid David Bowie fan!). Some facts about me: Titanic is my favourite film, 80s is my favourite era, I am vintage store obsessed and sweet potato chips are my life. You will also probably get first priority to any shows I am performing in or venues i'm singing at! I'll always be down to binge watch TV Shows. I like to think i'm good at rapping so if you enjoy Kanye, Kendrick or NWA i'm more than happy to jam out with you. I've travelled the world and have lots of experience and understanding in the etiquette of living in a shared environment. I enjoy healthy living, exercising, meditation and I am vegan! So if you care for the enviroment and/or an animal lover, I am probably perfect for you! On the other-hand if you're not a vegetarian/vegan I am also perfect for you as I most definitely won't be stealing any of your food! It's a total win/win. Please hit me up, and I look forward to staring this exciting chapter!
Hi, I'm Bek. Laid-back 26yo living in Sydney til early June. I'm here helping setup an office in the CBD here for my employer. I'm friendly and considerate of others I live with and would prefer a friend and well as housemate/s but can also appreciate personal time.
I am a researcher but also enjoy an active lifestyle. I work out a lot, cook a lot and also enjoy exploring the city. However, at home, I am quiet, respectful and very organized.
I am a tidy, friendly Japanese freelance filmmaker. I've got skills and experience in Japan and here in Australia and have acquired a professional attitude. I respect people and places in order to maintain balanced environment. I have an unique perspective of life so I'm pretty sure you can get some stimulation through conversation with me.
We are a couple looking for a studio/flat to share for 3-6 months. I'm a full time PhD student at the University of Sydney (North Shore Hospital, St Leonards). I'm a clean, friendly outward couple and respects others privacy.
Tea-aholic who loves animals, discovering new bars, live music, interior design, whisky tastings, travel adventures and hiking. Extroverted, friendly and relatively clean but respectful of boundaries. Happy to make you a cuppa tea every morning. If you put up with my sugar addiction I promise I'll share! I study at uni and work two jobs (retail and hospitality / day and night) so I'm one busy gal. I do have a lovely 9yr old Pomeranian called Marley. Ideally, I'd love to keep her around with me. She's my princess! However, I can keep her with family.
Works full time in North Sydney. Looking for a place to rest after a long day's work. Clean, neat and easy to live with. On Friday evening's I escape Sydney and spends the weekend in Canberra.
I'm a young professional who is easy going and loves going out, eating at restaurants and having a good time. I work in customer service for a global financial company which is situated in the city so a place near the city would be great!
Just started working in the city. I live clean, tidy and I try to stay organised. I like to take advantage of the weekends, heading out, seeing my friends or family, because the week is almost always a grind. I also play soccer, but I'm not any good at it. Looking forward to moving closer to work to make my life easier on those early start/late night days! Cheers :)
Friendly, easy going, and respects privacy. Recently moved to Sydney from Adelaide, hoping that sharing a flat will help me get settled in to a Sydney lifestyle. Recently graduated, working part-time here while looking for full-time work. I'm a fairly quiet and organised yet relaxed person. Not a party-er but do like to have fun. I try my best not to inconvenience my flatmates. I will carry my own weight around the flat in terms of responsibility and am happy to share supplies and ingredients. Flexible with moving date.
I work full time for a car manufacturer in Artarmon, I take pride in my work, am clean and tidy at home, and not looking for a party house. I'm a social guy though and enjoy the company of others, but chilled alone time is always great too. Always an optimist, and if you've got a sense of humour we'll get on great. I have a dog called Otto who is very friendly. He is a Lagotto (Google it!), who doesn't shed any hair, and spends his days mostly lazying around until it's time for a daily walk.
Hi! My name is Cristiano and I am looking for a single room in nice atmosphere house. I am going to apply to English exam soon for immigration purposes. I am friendly and easy going.
We're 2 friends, 1 French guy and 1 German girl looking for a room to share together in a flat share with clean, tidy and nice people. We both like to laugh and share moments with the others Flatmates. Working during the week and like to party/chill and discover new things on weekend!
Hi, I'm Laurent. I'm French and, after having happily lived in Oz for 7 years, Aussie also. I have a Chinese - Cambodian background as well and I'll leave the end result with your imagination (hint: it's not too bad) I have been off Australia for a year traveling and doing volunteering work and I'm finally back to continue my "normal" life. I'm pretty chilled out spending my time catching up with friends, watching movies and TV shows, doing sport (mainly soccer and squash) reading life hacks to make me feel smarter. I'm an IT professional and will be job hunting at the beginning of our common life. It doesn't mean I will have financial issues soon as I still have confortable savings. Like 100% of Flatmates users, I'm tidy. Well, that's partially true because my bedroom is more likely to get messy. I'll definitely keep the common area clean and I expect the same from my fellow flatmates. I'm social and independent. It means I'm happy to have a good chat over a drink or share activities, and I also need to spend time by myself. It's important to keep a good balance between social and personal spaces. Since I settled in Sydney, I always lived in a shared accommodation and I am fully house trained. Bonus: most of my previous housemates left me to move in with their partner and are now married... Regarding visits, I will occasionally have some friends over for drinks or dinner. I'm looking for an accommodation in inner Sydney area, preferably Surry Hills, Redfern, Newtown or surrounding suburbs.
I'm a 34 yr old single professional looking for a new place to call home. I love being outdoors and being active, but also enjoy chilling out at home and like to cook! I am a kind, considerate & respectful person and have lived in share houses since moving to Sydney 7 years ago. Please get in touch if you think I could be a good fit :)
Hello, future house mate! Looking for a home, not just a room to rent. I enjoy cooking, football, Campos coffee, and travelling to name a few. I'm interested in living with a like minded individual who takes pride in their home. I'm considering moving from the East to the Inner west and flexible with the move in date. No night owls please as I work full time and value my beauty sleep :) I own bedroom furniture, washing machine (front loader), tv and entertainment unit. I may consider selling them if your home is furnished. Built in wardrobe is preferable.
I'm a young guy with a good, secure full-time job in the city doing Software Engineering. I own a pretty cool collection of headphones meaning I don't need to play loud music. I'm currently living in Hornsby and looking to move closer to the city for work.
Hi I'm Jess I am looking for a share house for med-long term. I am 26. I work full time in Sydney CBD in a 5 star hotel chain. Monday-Friday. Very neat and tidy (actually a bit of a clean freak) love doing a bit of interior decorating. I have a fair bit of furniture which I am happy to bring along. Ideally looking for bills inclusive and need a parking space. Great cook and love to host a dinner party here and there (Vegans probably would not want to live with me as I do a great roast dinner) Use a lot of my spare time at the gym, yoga or shopping. After work I like to try different restaurants with my colleagues or just chill out with some trashy tv. I am pretty social and you will see my sarcastic humor come out once I get to know you.
Kit and I are easy-going, chilled out people who take full advantage of our weekends off work - especially when the Sydney weather is good. We spend most of our time beaching, exploring new suburbs, searching for good meat restaurants, drinking beer and red wine, working out and enjoying the outdoors. I work in HR and Kit works in advertising. Looking for a room for the next six or seven months.
Im 24yo from Scotland, I've been in Sydney since October and work full time at a marketing company in the city. I'm pretty chill to live with but can be a bit of a neat freak, which has its pros as I love cleaning. Not a huge partier during the week but I like going out at the weekend. Currently trying to quit smoking so I have no issues with preferred smoking/non-smoking. A huge plus would be if the house/apartment had an animal because I miss my dog more than my friends & family combined!
Both new to living in Sydney we are looking for our own space to live in, within a nice area close to transport and funky cafes. Andy's a chef and I am in the tourism industry so both work long hours. We are big foodies and enjoy live music.
I'm a PhD candidate at Macquarie University. I train at the university gym in the morning, and spend the rest of day at the office. So, I'm usually not around most weekdays. I'm big on farmers markets, and hence, looking for a place closer to my favourite market.
I am outgoing and friendly person, like to cook for friends, enjoys having beer time with people and do speak Korean, tibetan and Chinese, had experienced many different Asian cultures that I could share as our topic while conversations ^^
