I'm a German PhD student (biology) coming to Canberra in March for a 12 months research stay at the ANU. I'm looking for flatmates who aren't just sharing the house to keep the rent low. I also like having meals or tea/wine/beer with my flatmates once in a while. I've been in shared flats for nearly ten years now, so I know how to keep common areas clean and I respect when people need some time on their own. In my free time, I like learning languages, playing board and card games with friends, going to concerts and being out in nature/hiking. I'll have to leave my band in Berlin, so I'm excited to see which new hobby I might pick up in Canberra.
I'm a 38 year old Canberra-based self-employed heath professional (psychologist / body-centered psychotherapist), with an interest in yoga, dance, chi gong, embodied movement, the outdoors, mountain and motor bike riding, swimming, freestyle wrestling, food, coffee, design, art, dogs, indoor plants, travel, jazz records, and theatre. I also study Vietnamese language part-time at the ANU. I have plenty of share house experience and have also owned my own home. More recently, I've been renting a one-bedroom apartment In Turner, but have missed the grounded feeling that comes with living in a house and the company of housemates, so am keen to get back into a share house in the inner north of Canberra. Ideally a nice older house in O'Connor or Turner, but also looking in Ainslie, Braddon, Lyneham, and Reid. I currently work four days a week. Later in the year I’ll be reducing my hours further and setting up a base in Melbourne to live between the two cities. I'll also be abroad for several weeks across the year, for travel, study, and to see my male partner who lives overseas.
Hi, I'm a research scientist who enjoys playing sports and being out in nature. I’m friendly, respectful, tidy and reliable. Please message me if you'd like to team up or if you have a room available.
HELLO! My name is Alex and I'm moving back to Canberra from Melbourne in a couple of weeks :) I'm pretty flexible with dates and ideally would like to live somewhere close to public transport to get into civic to go to work. I like to read and listen to podcasts and also love indoor plants! Happy to be involved and help out around the house but equally happy to spend some time in my own company! Please message with any questions or anything like that! Happy to have a chat :)
Hi guys, I'm currently relocating to Canberra after 5 years living in Sydney. I'm a mature Events Coordinator professional very hard work but also enjoy some time off. I love travelling and being out and about. I enjoy exercising, riding and hiking. Also enjoy going to parks, festivals and picnics. At home I'm pretty quiet but also enjoy to catch up with flatmates for a meal and a chat. I'll be working full time so I'll be going home for a relaxing time. I'm looking for a extremely clean place dramas free. I'm very respecfull and friendly and very experienced in sharing units. I hope to hear from you.
Hello Everyone! My name is Michael Chauval and I'm looking for a room for 2019! As I write this, I am living in Yabuli, China working as a Ski Instructor. I will be coming back to Canberra in Early March to continue my studies at the Australian National University. As you can guess, I love to ski! I'm also very active in sports and trying to become a healthy individual. I enjoy prioritizing work and being busy. So I do enjoy personal space but I also enjoy being social. I am very flexible in terms of living arrangements. If in need, I can always offer ski lessons haha! I've lived in share housing arrangements for the past 3 years so I am also familiar with different standards of household expectations. If you would like to have me as a sharehouse/friend, please don't hesitate to send me a message! I look forward to coming back to Canberra!
Returning to Canberra for study and job hunting, after working in the UK and South Sudan. Looking for a room available now or end of March at latest. I like sharing dinner and a glass of wine, perhaps having a few others over to do so as well, but not after a party house. On a weekend I'll be heading out for frisbee, running, hiking, with a bit of that through the week too - a spot (on road/off road) for a car is needed. I enjoy keeping communal spaces clean. Would be great to live with people in their mid 20s-30s. Unfortunately sneezing mess around cats :( , and not keen on smoking households. I'd like a room with a window, plus space for a double bed and a small desk. Most importantly, I'd love to meet housemates as well!
I'm a 30-something public servant, living and working in Canberra since 2014. I've lived in a sharehouse in Campbell for the last 5 years and am looking for a room in a mature, considerate sharehouse in a leafy inner suburb. While I enjoy my own space and like peace and quiet during the work week I am a cheery house guest and happy to enjoy a cuppa or movie night on the weekend. Tidy and considerate, I'm very happy to do my share of household chores and am a keen gardener. I have a cat, Oswald, a ginger tabby who is very talkative, but friendly and enjoys cuddles and belly rubs. He will be your friend if you feed him :) He is currently an indoor/outdoor cat. If you think Oswald and I would be a good addition to your household we'd love to hear from you :) Hannah
Just moved to Canberra from the UK to work for an IT start-up. I've already spent 4 months here over the course of 2018 and am looking for a place to settle down and get stuck in to the city! Ideally I'd like to share with one or two people. I'm into running, snowboarding, paddleboarding (when I can get away!). Love generic socialising - going for a hike, a drink, hosting dinner parties and the odd proper party! I just got here so have nothing, but I suppose I could apply initiative and buy furniture...I suppose.
Single, public servant, looking for a chill LGBTI inclusive abode. I'm house trained, clean, can't cook, can do laundry, and can't dance (but I still do anyway). Introverted but still sociable and respectful of people's space and time. Always up for a chat when I’m burning my dinner. Lil bit of a GAYmer, have came first in Tetris 99 once or twice. Can play a tiny selection of board games and enjoy a good cry. Looking for a home rather than just a place to crash. Send a message if you think I might be a good fit. Look forward to hearing from you.
I am social and quiet easy to get along with, also love animals like to go out for dinner sometimes and enjoy walking. I need a place or room asap as I have moved from Queensland for work. As my paid short term accommodation is nearly up in 5 days.I am willing to move in a 5 or 7 km radius of the CBD
I'll be moving to Canberra in late February to start post-grad study in Anthropology at ANU. I've been in Melbourne this last year but have moved around a little, including a year in Canberra in 2017. I'm quite looking forward to returning! I found I fit frightfully well into the Canberra mould (this challenged me ;) ) I run, yoga, like film and making things, gigs in town and leaving town. I think I'm a pretty easy going housemate. I've lived in a few share houses with people I didn't know beforehand, and while I've never exactly sought a share house 'family,' the pattern seems to be that I adore my housemates and really enjoy hanging out with them. I imagine I'll be pretty focused on uni, but would also like to leave it at uni - I'm keen to live with people who are not tearing their hair out writing a thesis and to be part of other worlds. I'm sometimes very busy and social and sometimes much at all. I cherished my mountain time and Smith's time equally in the last Canberra stint. I'm reliable (with rent etc.), I like things clean and am happy to be there keeping them clean (as long as I'm not the only one!). I’d love some garden space for potting and pottering. I'm keen to share with up to four people who like peace and laughter at home.
I am caring, responsible and respectful girl. I’m very tidy and clean. I like to have my own space but also share time with my flatmates. I like cooking, doing exercise and watching movies with wine, cheese and chips hahah (I think I have watched everything in Netflix 🙈). I have been working as a full time in a childcare centre for a year and I will continue in this position for a while. In general I am a good person. 🙂
Hey I’m Seb, Look no further for the perfect flat mate. I am clean, quite, don’t smoke and rarely drink... oh yea I can cook too. I am studying part time while working 4 days a week in the city. I am looking for a relaxed, quite house to share. I am happy to have a chat or stick to myself.
Hello! I'm David. Looking for a friendly sharehouse in the inner-North of Canberra. I like cooking (lots of baking), bike rides, going for runs, knitting. I'm fairly clean and tidy. I work full time in a student residence. Also doing some study on the side.
Hi there, I'm Jay and recently moved to Canberra from Sydney to start up a grad position with the APS. Generally pretty relaxed and love doing outdoor activities particularly hiking, snowboarding, camping and swimming, but also down for more chilled out things like playing video games, board games, having a drink etc. I also like to keep my place clean and tidy (I love vacumming for some reason). Ideally looking for a private room in somewhat close proximity to Civic and/or Brindabella. Feel free to shoot me a message about anything :)
HI there! I am a Master's student at ANU (final semester yaay) looking for a new place to call home now :D I have previous share house experience - Tidy, social and pay bills on time. Lemme know if you have anything for me :)
I work full time as a technical support engineer, and will be working from Canberra which is why I'm looking for accommodation here! I am originally from Sweden (but an Aus citizen), so this will be the first time I'm permanently living in Australia. In my free time I play quite a bit of video games but I also really enjoy going out and seeing and exploring new things, which I hope I'll be doing quite a bit of! I'm looking for a place where I'll be able to stay for a longer amount of time (6m+), as I'd like to be able to live relatively steady while I have a job. I really am not too fussed about how many people I live with or what they do, as long as they don't smoke inside. I'd also be fine living with any type of pet. As I'm not actually arriving to Australia until March 5th, meeting me before to see who/what I am might be difficult. However, I am totally down to Skype or whatever is suitable beforehand!
Hey future housemates! I'm moving up to Canberra in March to do a masters by research at UNSW Canberra, originally from Melbourne. I just finished my undergrad in aerospace engineering, and have a permanent position as a naval architect. I like to get out and about, go camping in the bush or head to a bar or cafe, but also appreciate some down time. I've lived in sharehouses for the past 8 years and never had a problem. I respect other people's space and privacy, but am always keen for a chat, drink, meal or adventure when we're all around :)
Gday! My name’s Liv and I’m looking for my next sharehouse in Canberra to call home. Originally from Brisbane, I’ve spent the last 4 years in Canberra inner North sharehouses and have the shared living routine nailed. I love cycling, Peep Show and pot plants and spend most of my free time outdoors or relaxing with a glass of vino and good book. Work Monday for Friday and study part time! Looking for a friendly, warm house vibe but obviously respectful of privacy and space :)
I’m an easygoing and friendly barista who enjoys cooking. I typically like keep to myself when I’m at home after a long day of socialising at work. But I’m welcome to having regular chats. I’m clean, dependable and respectful of people’s privacy, which I expect of my housemates.
