I like to think I'm a very easy-going, open-minded guy. I will pull my weight around the house and love socialising however I also enjoy some quality alone time. I recently graduated Year 12, am looking to move out and will begin tertiary study at the ANU in 2017. I work in a bookshop and love having chats about movies and TV. I was born and bred in Canberra so I know the area well. I love to spend time with friends and am in a same-sex relationship. I am a very clean person and hate mess so I hope you will consider me as a potential flatmate!
3rd year paramedic and nursing student with stable part-time cafe job. Interests include walking/ outdoors/ running/ swimming, coffee, reading, cafe-crawling, TV marathoning, travel, cooking, music, socialising
Hi everyone I just moved to Canberra from Indonesia to study Master of International Relations at ANU. I am currently staying in a temp place and looking for a room to rent for a year or longer. I enjoy movies, cooking, being outdoors and in adventures. I quit smoking, generally dont drink but i dont mind occasional drinking or being around smokers and i do clean after myself. I respect personal space and privacy just as much as I enjoy being in a company of friends and as an international student i am more than happy to make friends with anyone.
I'm moving from Brisbane to Canberra around about January 30, and looking for somewhere to stay for the University year. I'll be completing honours in Psychology at ANU, so ideally looking for somewhere close to the uni. I've been living in sharehouses for most of my young adult life, and can hopefully say that I'm an easygoing housemate who is not annoyed by much, and tries not to annoy anyone else either. I like a house where people are occasionally interested in sharing a tea or a drink - I'm pretty friendly but also good at picking up on social cues. Outside of studying and work (I work as a public servant in Brisbane and hope to find something similar in Canberra) I play in two bands and like aquariums. I also find describing myself very painful so please just message me if you have any questions.
Clean and tidy, honest, considerate of others, team player, a great sense of humor, responsible, fun and full of energy. I'm a 3rd/4th Genetics and Science student at the ANU. My main interests are DIY science, politics, philosophy and adventure sports. I spend most of my free time, scheming, running, cycling and climbing.
I am a Danish exchange student, who will be studying at ANU for 1 semester starting Feb. 14th 2017 in order to finish my BA degree in anthropology. I consider myself openminded and easygoing, fond of travelling and meeting new people. I have been living with different roommates for the past 4 years, and I truly loving living with other people. I also know how important it is to have a lovely living-environment, especially when it comes to balancing between being friends and having fun on the one hand, and respecting privacy and keeping the place clean and a nice place to live on the other.
Hello. I'm hoping to move out of my current sharehouse anytime from the 1st January - March, to somewhere in the inner north with a bit of garden space (I'm keen to start a veggie patch). Ideally somewhere with 2-4 other housemates who don't mind the occasional shared dinner and a good chat. I work full time in the public service, and am keen on trips to the markets/op shop, cooking, trying to garden and watching if you are the one with a gin and cran. if you've stumbled across my profile and think your place may suit me, shoot me a message :)
Third year environmental major at ANU. Love to travel and have many stories to share. Enjoy gardening, cooking, art and having communal house dinners and chats. Tidy, respectful of people and reliable with rent and bills.
I'm a linguist working on Australian Aboriginal languages (always happy to chat about languages, culture, and all under that umbrella). I also love cooking and am always happy to cook for the household to have shared dinners one or two times a week.
We are seeking a new house/room to move into; I'm a video editor and event producer of Colombian heritage, born and raised in CBR. Music and films is part of my wall paper :) My partner is a French born teacher who has been living in Canberra for 4 years. We both like to cook food and socialise, live music, films and conversations. looking forward to meeting you! We both speak Spanish also.
Hi, I'm Fapiola :) I'm 20 and am in my third year studying Early Childhood and Primary Education at ACU in Watson. I also work part time in child care and love it. I'm from a small country town, I love meeting new people, making friends and enjoying life. I also have a puppy, named Octavia and she's so cute. She lives with my parents when I'm in Canberra but this year if possible I would love to have her with me, but she wouldn't mind if she wasn't allowed because she loves living with my parents and the 3 other dogs we have. Some things I enjoy is music, art, learning new songs, playing sports such as rugby, soccer and touch, gym, food and being with friends. I'd be great to live with, I'm super friendly, tidy and easy going.
Fun, tidy and easy-going, I'm a bit of a goofball, I like to keep the house in a reasonably clean state but am not OCD. I enjoy my quiet time but also love to sit around with a beer or glass of wine and have a chat. I have a pet cat who is very good with other animals and warms up to new people quite easily. I'm from country NSW but have lived in Canberra for almost a year now, studying and working. Would love to find a pre-existing place that accepts pets or team up with some people to form a new sharehouse. Ideally would like to team up with 2 guys similar in age who are cat friendly and looking to live in the inner North or South of the city. I usually spend time in the garden or going for walks, reading and I love hitting up Canberra's jazz bars and live music scene for a drink and a dance.
Hello! I'm looking for a home within reasonable riding distance (~10km) from Canberra CBD, looking to move in from around the 30th of January. A bit about myself - I'm starting with the Department of Agriculture and Water as a graduate in early February. Just finished a one year Honours degree at the University of Sydney but originally I'm from Perth where I graduated from UWA with a BSc in 2014. Spent 7 months traveling from Azerbaijan to Cuba and back again in 2015 so always keen to hear and share some stories around the table. I've lived in a number of different share houses in England and the US, and lived in a studio in Sydney. Although after a year of a studio, I definitely prefer living in a house with other people. I enjoy outdoors sorts of things - big fan of running/cycling (I've heard mountain biking is great in Canberra!) and I also love gardening and growing vegetables/herbs if you need some out the back. I'm easy to get along with and happy to do the chores share the work around the house. I'll fix your bike too! If I sound like someone that suits your share house flick me a message and we can arrange to meet.
I am a 5th year student at ANU and have just returned from 3 semesters overseas. I am a very independent, friendly, relaxed person. I like doing my own thing but also very much enjoy socialising with others. Easy-going and adaptable :). I will be heading back to Canberra in mid January so am available to see the house and meet the housemates from then :). Thank you!
Hey all! I am an international student from Hong Kong and will be studying at ANU. I am moving alone so I don't know anyone in Australia/Canberra. I am a respectful and down to earth person who is a bit quiet at first but can be fun to talk to when I get to know a person. I like watching movies, reading, listening to music, napping on a beach, exploring new places, eating different kinds of cuisine, local street food and having a few drinks with friends. I don't smoke and I don't have pets. I am a tidy person and don't make noise. ***My preference: I would love to live with people who are friendly and tidy, preferably if you are also studying at ANU (please feel free to contact me even if you are just looking to team up). Flat-wise I prefer a place within walking/bicycles distance of ANU, or with easily accessible public transport nearby directly to ANU. I don't mind sharing bathroom but I prefer to have my own furnished lockable room in a neat and tidy house.
I'm looking for an easy going place to live with my 10 year old cat Steve. I'm a public servant, work full time. I enjoy playing tennis, swimming, reading, cooking & spending time with friends & family.
I am full time working professional. I don't have car and looking for room or house to share nearby airport. I am friendly and respectful guy, like to socialise and know to give individual space as well. I am looking for team ups or rent single room.
Gday Guys, Originally from Tamworth, moved down to Canberra 2 years ago. I am currently studying a bachelor of Marketing Management at UC, as well as working 25+ hours as a bartender at the Ainsley Football Club. I'm a very proactive person, who enjoys playing Rugby League on the weekend and generally talking or playing most things sport. I'm an easy going individual and very easy to live with, courteous and well spoken. Cheers
I'm a 26 year old former teacher from Sydney who's entering the public service. I'm a very easygoing guy who isn't picky about anything and is happiest when everyone gets along. I've lived at home all my life, but I'm currently the oldest of 4 brothers at home and my parents work a lot, so I'm heavily involved in house duties such as washing up, cooking for everyone, cleaning etc so I don't shirk away from keeping a house tidy! I'm a sociable guy who's keen to make friends with his housemates and bond over whatever activities they like, especially the brunch kind, but I also do like my down time chilling out with Netflix, playing some Playstation or reading up pretty much anything on the net. I watch and play a whole heaps of sports, so if you're particularly keen on basketball, any form of footy or soccer, you can be sure I'll slot in well! I also come from a Lebanese household so my mum plans on sending me back with a whole heap of food every so often, so if you like Leb cuisine, everybody will be happy for days!
My name is Towhid. My family is recently immigrated from Bangladesh as Permanent Resident. My family is staying at my brother's house in adelaide. I am about to move in Canberra with my family, but unfortunately no one is there familiar with me. So i need a short stay (2-3 weeks) to find out home for my family. If anyone kindly consider my short stay as possible then i would come to Canberra and start staying at that house. I am male, 40 years of age. P.S. I need the accommodation immediately. No inspection is required from my side.
I'm an engineer, who once dreamt of being an artist. I love reading (all-sorts including comics), catching up with friends, keeping active and working on random projects - I sew, I bake, I mould, I make. I like to learn or work at tasks and projects that catch my fancy, and every now and again I act. Beyond that, I'm tidy, reliable, relatively laid back and a non-smoker. I'm fairly easy going; a bit of an introvert, but happy to socialise. I'm more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
My names Alicia, I'm 18 and work full time. I'm a fun, and social person but also love to have my own space. I'm clean and a non smoker. I have been in share house environments before so I know what it is like with respecting your flat mates privacy but also having a friendship with them is important. I love to go out with friends and have fun, as well as going to the gym occasionally. I'm really looking forward to the year and wanting to surround myself in positive and happy people so if you are needing to add another someone like me to your household flick me a message. Can't wait to hear from you (:
I am originally from Melbourne, and am moving to Canberra in order to complete a masters degree at ANU. I love to cook and read, I also have a great love of dogs. I am a very neat and tidy person and I am always very organised. I really enjoy watching films and walking to explore local bushland and forests.
I am moving from Brisbane in early Feb 2017 to start a new role, so I'm looking for shared accommodation with some friendly people in Canberra. I've been renting for a few years in Brisbane, so I'm very good at cleaning up after myself, and I'm comfortable living with either guys or girls. As a housemate I am tidy, friendly and considerate, and I am looking for housemates with similar qualities. In my free time I try to get outdoors and go for a walk/hike, and love spending time with friends. Also love getting stuck into a good Netflix series! I have a good sense of humour and I enjoy a good laugh, and don't mind the occasional wine. I'm looking for an unfurnished room, and as a bonus I also come with a couch and front-loader washing machine! (but can put those in storage if they're not needed). I can flexible with my move-in date starting from 4 Feb, but looking to be moving by 19 Feb at the latest. If you think I might be the right housemate for you, I'd love to hear from you
Recent uni grad, moving to Canberra for a new job. Looking for a place to call home. Like to stay at home just as much as I like to go out. I have a few friends in Canberra but will be looking to make more and would like a place where it's ok to have them over for a drink or a BBQ (and for you to join us).
I'm from Perth moving to Canberra for a grad program! I love to cook and am a very clean person. I like my privacy and hoping for a roommate who is the same but loves a drink or three on the weekend. I'll be working full time and would like to find a cool netball team! I like listening to music, bike riding, and Netflix binges.
I'm a 4th year UC student starting my second degree this year, I also work part time. Love to socialise but do also enjoy time to myself. Very clean and respectful of other people and their personal space. Ideally looking for somewhere close to the city but would be happy with anywhere northside. Ready to move in anytime in January.
Hi folks, I'm moving from Perth to Canberra for a job starting early Feb. I'm an easygoing, clean gal and am sharehouse trained. I love gardening, especially growing my own veg, cookups, wine and endless cups of tea. Looking for a house with others who are social but not a party house somewhere in the inner north.
I'm a lawyer from the Philippines but will be commencing my postgrad studies in ANU this February. Looking for a place around Acton or Ainslie, though I'm open to other suburbs too. I'm responsible, tidy, and sociable (though I know my boundaries so I can also keep to myself whenever necessary :) )
Hi All, My name is Karen, I am 23 years old and will be relocating to Canberra in January to start my career in the APS! I am very excited for this move and I can't wait to become a local and explore everything that this city has to offer. I enjoy hiking, music, art and yoga, and am a pretty laid back and easy going person. Hope to meet you soon!
Hello there! I'm looking for a new home in Canberra inner-north! I am looking to move in early 2017 and can be flexible with move dates (sometime in January suits well though). A bit about myself, I am a mid twenties female who has lived in Canberra for the past 6 years. I moved from my hometown of Darwin for study, and then have stayed on for work. Also, because Canberra is such a nice place to live! I am a full-time public servant working with the Arts. Outside of that, my hobbies include running, mountain biking, yoga, heading to markets, cooking market spoils, live music, films, and art exhibitions. I keep myself busy and appreciate having a friendly, relaxed home to come back to. I enjoy swapping stories and catching up with housemates over a drink, dinner, chocolate, or TV. I've lived in share houses for the past couple of years. I am a tidy, considerate person and happy to do my part of the chores. I am also good at the balance of spending time with housemates, but also appreciating that sometimes quiet time is great too. If any of this sounds like it would fit in well with your home, apartment, townhouse, then please get in touch with me! Look forward to hearing from you, Aine
Hay! I'll be moving down to Canberra from Brisbane to study at ANU. Flat mate pro's: - Have a Netflix account! - Can cook a fairly decent breakfast! - Don't mind giving you lifts to places - I have some books you can borrow if you want?
Hey, I am a 28 year old looking for a home for myself and two big dogs. I am not fussed on which suburb as long as it is in Canberra. I am clean and like the house to feel like a home. I like cross fit; the ocean; camping; hiking; and good company. I prefer hanging out with a few quality people over being surrounded by a lot of people.
Hey, I am full time PhD student at ANU. Most of the time is expected to be at university. Currently i am living in Brisbane so Canberra will be a new place for me to live. I am open minded and friendly. Also like to hang out with friends and traveling. I don't drink or smoke, but i use to go out with friends to explore new places. I would like to have my own space sometimes while respecting other's values. If someone wants to have a great and supportive friend, housemate then text me.
Hi! I'm looking for a new sharehouse since my current lease is ending. I'm a uni student at ANU studying Arts/International Relations as well as work part time as a pharmacy assistant. I love cooking, catching up with friends over some wine and putting together Ikea flatpacks. Send me a message if you have a room or if you'd be interested in forming a sharehouse.
I have a fun, friendly and out-going personality! I enjoy a good catch-up, yarn, perhaps dinner together once or twice a week (particularly if we enjoy eating the same kinds of food and our schedules correspond), but I also appreciate everyone needs their space! I like keeping spaces clean, tidy and organised! I am pretty active, I like bush walking, dancing, yoga, swimming, kayaking, sailing (I have a friend in Canberra with a small yacht). I love my job -- I work in media! I am also studying toward my second degree part time. I like seeing live bands and listening to Triple J! I like to keep up with what's going on in the world, and I enjoy lively conversation!
Hi :) I am moving to Canberra in the new year for work and am looking to rent a room in a share house/apartment with people who do not smoke, are respectful, positive and clean. I am looking for somewhere in and around Central Canberra. I don't have a car so walking distance to public transport is important. I have lived in share houses in major cities around the world so am well house trained. I am a non-smoker, very respectful of peoples property and personal space and have a bubbly, laid back personality. If you'd like to know more please feel free to get in touch. Thanks, Steph :)
Computer science student looking to move in to (or establish) a sharehouse near ANU. I enjoy reading, jogging, and trading awful puns. Quiet and respectful of shared areas—seeking housemates who are too.
I'm easy-going and friendly. I'm used to living with others and am respectful of people's space - I'm happy to catch up for a chat, or do my own thing. I work for an airline, so I'm occasionally away overnight, and work odd hours from time to time. I tend to keep busy with work, exercise, and the occasional catch up with friends. I also love being outdoors, planning new adventures and (as I'm relatively new to Canberra) exploring the best of what the city has to offer.
Hi, I’m Rob, a Canamerishian (it makes sense when you hear my accent) corruption researcher back in The Can as part of my PhD. The best thing about me as a housemate is that I’m flexible. You’re chatty? I lived in Ireland for years: let’s chat it up. You prefer to keep to yourself after a long day? No worries. Otherwise I’m fairly housetrained: cleaning up after myself, being respectful of others’ space and property, taking care of my share of the chores and the bills. I’ve come to appreciate eight hours’ sleep at this point in my life, and I reckon you do, too. If you’re good with living with a normal, easygoing, respectful guy from North America, I think we’re in business. Cheers Rob
Hi there, I'm a 24 year-old young professional who works full-time in Canberra. I originally grew up in Melbourne and moved to Canberra in 2011 to study at ANU. I've been in a share house in Campbell for the past three years, but with my housemates moving interstate I'm now looking for a new place. I generally like keeping to myself, but also enjoy occasional after work drinks and the odd get together with friends.
Happy, down to earth and open minded - ideally I'd like to find a place with pets. I'm 25 and have lived in share houses since I was 18 so am well accustomed to shared living and understand the importance of communication and being respectful of fellow housemates. I am currently working 4 days a week at the Clean Energy Regulator while studying part-time at the ANU. If you'd like to know anything else feel free to ask.
Hey guys, I am easy-going person looking to find a place to move to over the next month or so when my current lease runs out. I am an active person who also works a lot so I won't be around all that much, but I do like the occasional kitchen catch up when housemates cross paths. Let me know if this sounds like it might work out! Casey
Hi, I'm a US citizen and soon to be high school graduate. I've spent my high school at boarding schools and so have no problem living with others. I need a place to stay in Canberra for the months of June and July as I do volunteer with several organizations in and around the area. Thank you!
Hi ! I am a french student and I'll spend 6 months in Canberra from february to july 2017. I need to find an accomodation for one month starting from the 7th of february. I am open to any kind of accomodation as it is a short-term stay. I am used to flatshares, clean tidy and quiet, I love reading and cooking and I am available if anyone would like some french lessons ! I will be working full-time at the CSIRO. I am very exited to live in Australia, and I hope I'll find a friendly home !
I'm moving from Sydney to start a full time APS position. I'll clean up after myself, am laid back but love a chat too. So a social house where there's still some peace and quiet if you want it would be the dream. Ideally I'd like to get out and about on the weekends with day trips to the beach or snow but I don't know how realistic this is yet. Average at best surfer and snowboarder. Pretty sport mad too, especially about the NBA. Looking to move into somewhere early -mid feb.
Hi, My name is Ellen. I am a school psychologist working for the ACT Education Directorate. I moved to Canberra last year, from country Victoria, where I used to work as a high school teacher. I am a pretty easygoing person who likes to share the odd meal/conversation with housemates. I also like reading, running/going to the gym, and cooking in my spare time. I am open to different move dates. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Kind regards, Ellen Sheridan
Another grad moving to Canberra for an APS job! I am clean and tidy, but also pretty relaxed and easy to get along with. I currently live in a share house in Melbourne and enjoy coming home to share a meal/drink/chat with my housemates. I enjoy cooking, traveling, hiking, skiing and markets... fruit & veg, not stock ;)
Will: A 19 year old artist born and raised on the south coast. Loves coffee, cold weather, dogs, lizards and Mexican food. Currently quitting smoking. Liz: An 18 year old student from country New South Wales. Qualified Aged Care nurse and part time farm girl. Loves pugs, hugs, and back rubs. Non smoker. We are both lgbt+, pet and child friendly. All in all we are a couple of responsible young adults and occasional goofballs who enjoy a day of baking cupcakes and listening to music. Thanks for reading 😀 Feel free to contact us!
I'm looking for a place that is more than just a place to live - I think that in an ideal share house you have plenty of space and privacy but are also friends with your housemates and can do fun things together. I'd love a place where we can occasionally eat together (or even start a communal cooking roster), have tea/drinks and chats together at the end of the day, or watch terrible TV together. I love cooking, and can be frequently found baking a cake for no reason. I am always up for good feminist chats. I love shitty reality TV, bushwalking, swimming and finding new places to eat. As a housemate, I think I am clean, respectful and friendly. I think its important to be aware of each other's needs and to keep communal spaces clean.
