I am currently living in Dubbo with my partner of six years and we are looking for an opportunity to establish ourselves in Canberra. I will be commencing full time study at the University of Canberra for a Bachelor of Engineering and collecting Youth Allowance. Emily is currently seeking full-time work with interviews arranged for our next visit. Emily is a qualified barista and baker with four years experience and I am a qualified IT worker with four years experience. In addition to regular chores I would also be able to assist with any computer issues or advice if desired. We are traveling from Dubbo to Canberra every weekend this year to inspect rental properties but thus far we have been unsuccessful largely due to high demand. We would prefer short-term or mid-term living arrangements to establish ourselves in the city so that we may have easier opportunities to rent independently in the future. Move date is listed as 30/01 but we will be OK to move in whenever available.
Swedish Uni student who will study in Macquarie University this year. I will be working part time in CBD so will be going back and forth between my Uni and CBD by train. I am tidy, social and easy going. Love to spend time with friends but also respect private time for rest/studies.
I'm Matt, 26, doing Media at Macquarie Uni. Into the usual entertainment addictions - movies/TV, gaming, etc. Constant daydreaming of food and travel.
I'm looking to move into a small share house with 1-3 other people in the Macquarie Park area. Currently I work full-time as a Duty Manager and Grocery In-Charge for Coles at Macquarie Centre and am also studying Business Administration and Economics at Macquarie University. My busy lifestyle generally means I am not at home for long stretches and unintrusive towards my fellow room mates. I am also interested in potentially starting a share house with other people if they were interested, as I have plenty of household furniture to share when moving into a new home. I have lived in various share houses for over 3 years now so am very reliable and tidy, happy to clean, cook and respect other people's privacy. I'm looking for a six month lease and to move around mid to late February! I'm a very relaxed, easy-going person and I enjoy going to bars and clubs with friends, sports (mostly NRL and football), gaming and just relaxing around the home. Please feel free to contact me (To get around the early-bird subscription fee)
I am a very clean and tidy person. I'm not loud, I don't smoke nor drink. I don't go out clubbing and what not. I do like to socialise but I respect when you need alone time. I am from a place near Bega and I will be starting uni at UC on the 13th of February.
I am really quiet, clean and helpful.I am from Bangladesh. I am an international student at Macquarie university majoring in mechanical engineering. I am mostly busy with my studies.I am currently overseas. But I will be back again in Sydney on 18Th February. If anybody has accommodation in the areas that I have listed,Please let me know
Hello ! My name is Visalakshi. I'm 21 years old and I come from India. I'll be starting my masters in Macquarie University next month. I'm a friendly, clean and fun person. It will be convenient if I find a place near the university. Thanks in advance.
Relocating from Perth to Sydney for work. Easy going lad. I will be spending weekdays working in North Ryde starting a new job. I'm pretty social and have lots of interests. Weekends I'm usually out and about/partying. Weeknights I keep it pretty tame and spend a lot of time on Netflix/Gaming. Very clean and respectful of house mates privacy. I don't know a lot of people in Sydney so if there is some social house mates willing to show me around the city that would be a bonus. I'm a home owner myself and handy with maintenance etc. Currently living in a Perth sharehouse with 3 under 24's and have lived in many share houses in the past. Flying to Sydney on the 1st Feb and looking for accommodation as close to this date as possible. I'm a car guy and usually have 2 cars so need somewhere that can accommodate that. Chow. this is the bump line with useless information used to bump me to the top of searches :)
I am willing to chip in to all household chores and can whip up some pretty good meals and would be happy to cook sometimes for my housemates. Im a nurse coming to live in act to attend university commencing 13th of feb. Im looking for an initial place to live whilst settling into uni. There is the possibility of going back to sydney in 3 months hence looking for only 3 months atm but may need to extend this depending on whether i stay in canberra or not
Hi, I'm Sabrina, sent to Canberra by my company and having been in here for 2 months. I'm fun and laid-back, enjoying food and binge-watching movies. I work full-time but would also love to socialize!
I am currently pursuing a Master degree at Macquarie University. I am fun to hang out with or explore new places as we get to know each other better. On the other hand, I respect other's privacy as I also want that in return. During break-time, I like to explore Sydney to cherish and memorize this wonderful opportunity. I enjoy cooking for myself, so I always keep everything clean for my roommates to experience the same. I am also a pet lover because I have 6 dogs at home (Vietnam). I don't smoke.
I am a musician, but not hipster. I am a comedian but not really funny (dad jokes). I like computers, movies and sports. I'm looking for somewhere to stay long term, with people who are sociable and friendly. I don't want to start a new "share house", I want it to be "home". Though I like to cook, I'm not exceptional at it... I'm happy to take turns, or just do our own meals. Similarly I'm happy to eat together or keep to our own.
Hello, I am Goutham, an overseas student from India. I'm here in Sydney from Feb 2017 and am looking for roommates who'd like to move in with me. I manage to cook a few Indian dishes, dance and watch movies for fun. I love to travel and engage with people and know their stories. Keeping my surrounding clean and maintaining hygiene are most crucial for me.
Freshly graduated out of the ANU and looking for a place to stay. Im a graduate in Masters of International Relations and a former Public Relations consultant. Looking for a nice homely atmosphere to live in and fun people to share the house with. I like cooking and consider hygiene very important! Very happy to share an occasional beer or wine and watch movies and tv shows.
Quiet, clean, relaxed and respectful of other's privacy. I have all furnishings (washer, dryer, fridge, lounge, TV + Netflix etc) and am looking at starting a shared 3BR house. I am a student and get an additional income stream from another source. Looking for like-minded females in their 20s or 30s who would be interested in sharing a place. I mostly keep to myself but also happy to share an occasional glass or two of wine.
I'm a Macquarie Student who's in search of nice clean room to settle in. I'm from India. If you are in search of a roommate or a tenant, I'm ready to occupy and share the rent. Movies and Premier League is my kind of fun. Let me know if you are interested. All genders welcome to take me in. Cheers! Meet you Soon.
I am an Indian accounting professional moving to Sydney in January 2017 and need an accommodation - 1 bedroom with private bathroom preferably. I am a non-smoker, who likes to keep his house clean and tidy. I am a fitness enthusiast and would love to play a sport or hang out with my flatmates in my free time.
I am Joint-PhD student from Germany, enrolled at Macquarie University and at the University in Hamburg (Germany), where I currently live. Every year, I return to Sydney to conduct the experimental part of my PhD research. I am clean, tidy and very responsibly. In my freetime, I work as a volunteer youth leader in international camps for kids and teenagers. I also love to cook and live a healthy lifestyle - no smoking, no excessive partying.
I'm Brazilian, I'm a teacher and I'm moving to Sydney on Feb 13th to study at Macquarie University. I'm looking for a single room with private bathroom (if possible) close to the uni. I'm a very respectfull, organized and tidy pearson. I'm calm, quiet and easygoing. I'm a backpacker and I'm passionate about traveling.
Hello! My name is Samantha and I am an Australian living in Sydney at the moment looking to move out. I have lived by myself before and look forward to meeting new people from different backgrounds, cultures and sexualities. Mind you if we're both Australian then there's nothing wrong with some snags on the barby! I am not a party animal and often I will either be working or studying at University. I am in the final years of my degree, looking to move out and spread my metaphorical wings. I come from a background of English and Spanish descendants and happy to help around the house and I am very respectful of other room mates. I am easy-going and friendly, although because I like to read I can be mistaken as being rather shy at times. I like to relax after work either with others or with a good book. I like to cook for others including myself and pride myself on cleaning up the kitchen afterwards. I think the housework chores ideally are taken on my everybody and I am not impartial to celebrating life special moments, for myself and others. I look forward to hearing from you and I hope you're having a great day. See you soon, roommate!
We are quiet, courteous and clean. We enjoy good conversation and a bit of telly but are not ultra social. We work hard and are good people. We don't drink, smoke or have people over. Depending on what you have on offer, we can be flexible with price.
The sitch: I’m looking to find at least 1 female professional around the same age to start up a new sharehouse. I’m moving as my current landlord rents rooms individually and has chosen a 50yo woman for the other room. Nuf said. I've been lurking on flatmates.com for a while (I'm lazy), and have now decided I might as well really start looking. *I have no urgent leave date, it just made me choose a date. I just have to give my landlord 2 weeks notice. The proposal: I’m hoping to meet someone with similar ideas and a complementary personality. We could rent a 3br house first and then choose a 3rd tenant together. I’m looking for a place in the burbs around Belconnen (Aranda, Macquarie, Page, Evatt etc), though I think Macquarie/Aranda are pretty good as they’re just off Belconnen way if you work in the city. This is completely up for negotiation, though, don’t worry :) I was thinking we could look for a newer house, but really my main concern is space and light as I hate tiny rooms with tiny windows. It’s for this reason I’d prefer the ensuite/master room as they tend to be bigger. Obviously I’d pay more rent. But if the other rooms are big, that’s not a problem. I come with barfridge, biggish TV, coffee table, dryer, kitchen table. I have all my own kitchen stuff and bedroom furniture. I’m totally open to negotiating on what we need to get – couch, big fridge, washing machine etc. Me: INTJ if you put any stock in that. I’m a non-smoker. I like to play videogames (PS4, XBONE – I can definitely buy headphones if you find the noise annoying), read, write, research random crap. I enjoy Reddit, YouTube and Netflix, fashion and makeup, and play ultimate Frisbee. I’m a 2ic in my customer-service based workplace, which I find a bit draining, so I like to chill with a peaceful cup of tea after work. I love discussions about philosophical ideas, politics, any random crap really as long as it’s not small talk haha. I suppose a fellow introvert will find it easier to live with me. That being said, I can be pretty social too - I love a good movie or cards night, or chilling together on mutual days off. I’ve been living in sharehouses for around 6 years with no major dramas, but I’m really looking to make a home and you’re an important part of that. You: Introvert or extrovert, I don’t care at all, as long as you don’t expect energetic conversation for the first hour or so after work. Non-smoker. Not a first-time home leaver (unless you’re an exception to the typical kinda thoughtless housemate those guys make). Just be clean and pay the bills and we’ll get along fine.
I'm a 22 years old Indonesian and a master student candidate of Macquarie University. I love many things especially music and foods. I'm also a musician, I played Piano and some wind instruments. I'm not a fan of sharp smells (especially cigarette smokes) and loud noises at the night. I'm an easy-going person and easy to approach, kinda talkative but also a bit introverted. I'm not sure about this, but my friend told me that I'm quite comforting to talk to. I love dogs, so I don't really mind if you have pets anyway, as long as it doesn't rip all of my clothes. My current problem is I'm still in Indonesia right now and my arrival in Sydney is on 11th February
Jonty works as a bartender, Meg works in retail and studies at Macquarie Uni. We are looking for a share house/apartment that has easy access to public transport. Meg has an interest in screen production and enjoys watching films, divulging in new foods whether it be cooking of eating out, taking part in outdoor activity and is first up for a dance or karaoke sesh (at home or otherwise)! Jonty also shares an interest in food, spends time gaming, listening to music and playing guitar. He continuously looks for good burger joints and craft beer (without the attitude). Both enjoy having friends over for the occasional BBQ, going out or just a night of Netflix. All in all, we are down to earth very sociable, outgoing people capable of keeping both personal and mutual living spaces tidy and respecting the need for privacy.
Born and raised in Sydney, I grew up in the area and studied at Macquarie Uni for my undergrad. I enjoy playing/watching football or any sport for that matter, travelling, gaming, and enjoying a yarn about life over coffee or beer/wine. I have been relocated by work from full-time in the CBD to Norwest so M2 is my daily commute and I figure a nice townhouse behind Macquarie would suit me perfectly as it is fairly central to Sydney with plenty of transport options. I have a couple of months up my sleeve on my current lease so am looking to play the market and find a modern place with a good bush view (no cheap student housing, but nothing over the top). Looking to meet someone who thinks they may want to share my new home for at least 6 months. I work in the home entertainment industry so if you like movies, games, or pay tv, I have that covered lol. Ideal candidate would be 23-30, work or study full-time, eats relatively well and enjoys watching or playing sport too. A healthy knowledge of housesharing etiquette would be great too. Send me a message on this site and lets chat if you think we'd be a good fit :) Hooroo, Luke
I am 18 years old, entering first year studying Bachelor of Dramatic Arts at Excelsia College in Macquarie Park. I'm from Tasmania and looking for a place to live while studying. I'm a easy going, easy to get along and down to hang, very understanding and friendly. Also very respectable of a person's space. I enjoy relaxing watching movies, or having a swim at the beach. looking forward to hanging out and balancing school work.
I'm moving from Brisbane to Canberra for a graduate position. I'm friendly and easy-going. I love to cook and like my home kept fairly clean and tidy. Ideally I would like to share a 2-bed 2-bath unit with another non-smoking young professional female. For fun I enjoy relaxing, reading and watching Netflix. I love travelling and I am interested in exploring Canberra and the surrounding areas. Happy to live with pets. Move-in date is flexible as long at it's before 19 February.
Hey there, I'm going into my final year of my BSc at Macquarie Uni and would like to move to somewhere near campus so I can knuckle down and crush it this year! Because of this I'm not looking for a party flat, ideally somewhere quiet where I can get work done. Of course this doesn't mean I don't want to socialise, I'd love to become good friends with my flatmates :) I'm vegetarian (most of the time anyway) and am happy to cook clean etc for myself. I'll probably go home most weekends in north west Sydney to see my family and friends.
Love reading, animals, basketball, swimming, the odd social drink, movie nights and baking. Looking for easy going people to live with. Will be studying and working part time. $150 or a little bit more providing utilities are included.
I'm a Filipina studying at Macquarie. Would love to find a place nearby. I have no problems with keeping areas clean and tidy. I prefer to maintain it that way. I am a friendly individual and I am not loud to consider. I am really looking forward to finding flatmates who are almost as like-minded :)
Hi future housemates! I am Clare. About Your Place. It must be warm in Winter! (I really feel the cold!) Otherwise I am quite flexible re; house/unit/etc. I would prefer somewhere with nearby access to ACTION buses and within approx 30mins to Uni Canberra (although I am willing to consider most areas ie; Woden). Over the years I have shared with different genders, a variety of age groups, people from other countries and employed/students, so I know the etiquette of house-sharing arrangements with a diversity of people. I would enjoy the occasional ‘group’ meal, chatting with other tenants or being independent depending on the vibe in the property. What I Will Bring. I am seeking a reasonable sized room to place a full set of queen size bedroom furniture. I will also bring with me general furniture which I am happy for other housemates to use. (If you have a dry lock-up shed to place unwanted furniture, that would be ok too.) I also have a lot of great quality kitchen appliances as I like to cook and bake. About Me. I am a Transgender female and have a 'youthful' personality for my age! Although I like to socialise, I am generally quiet at home. I am a tidy person who cleans up after themselves and is respectful of other tenant's privacy. Sports-wise, I like Bikram Yoga, Badminton and Swimming. I'll be studying a Bachelor of Health Sciences at the University of Canberra next year. There is the possibility that I may work fulltime and study part-time if the perfect job falls my way over the next few months. Although I have lived in Canberra for 10 years, I am currently in Victoria until the end of January. So I would be ready/need to move into a new place from the first weekend of February. I should be back in Canberra from approx 28th Jan for inspections, etc. Get in touch if you think I am a good fit for your place.
I'm friendly, tolerant, reasonably clean and tidy, and ready to do my fair share of house chores. I respect peace and privacy around the house, but always be happy to befriend housemates too. I'm an Indonesian medical doctor, now doing my PhD full time, and after a year doing research in Indonesia, I'm returning to Sydney to complete writing up on my project. For in-house fun, in my past years sharehousing in Canberra and Sydney, I've been known to occasionally cook for house breakfasts or dinners. I'm good with sharing my moka-pot coffee in the morning, and am proud of my breakfast pancake and Indonesian beef rendang. I can enjoy housemates' company for movie or game nights, or back-porch beer banters over Flight of the Conchords-type humour or random-topic TED Talks. Outside of the house, I'm planning on doing more road trips in my '98 Corolla, beach swimming, and improv comedy classes in the city, or perhaps find a reason or two to get my ukulele out. Would love to live in a house of people with similar interests.
Hi there, I am a hardworking student at Macquarie University who until recently worked as a Business Analyst in Martin Place. I am taking some time off to focus on University, but I teach Advanced English HSC over the weekends. My life is full and busy and I enjoy keeping a positive attitude throughout it all. I am tidy, respectful and come with excellent references. In my spare time I enjoy hiking, running and anything outdoors. I would love to find a place close to a National Park for this reason. Ideally, I am seeking a private, furnished room with no pets (I am allergic) which is within walking distance or close bus ride to Macquarie University. I would be fine with travelling a little further if the room is close to Lane Cove National Park :) Hoping I can find a quiet place that lets me relax and unwind and get a good nights rest for the working day! Cheers :)
I'm from West Africa, lived in England United Kingdom. I am starting my Masters at Macquarie University and need a place to live. I'm a tidy, not so out going, single guy. For idle times, I like watching YouTube videos, listening to music or Hanging out.
We are a laidback young couple. We're at work a fair bit, and when we're at home we like to play board games or just veg out with some Netflix. One of us is still studying, but I usually do my study at a library so I won't be at home shushing everyone :) We have lots of books and a small collection of board games you can borrow! We don't operate on weird hours (however we occasionally have early morning work starts during a particular season). We are saving up to take a little holiday so we don't go out as much atm, but usually we like to go to the movies, go out to eat, go to comedy shows or even go on a long drive/day trips. We are not "model home" tidy, but we do love to keep our home clean (sweeping/vaccuming, mopping etc.). We mostly keep any clutter contained to our room though (this usually happens during exams! D:). Free to a good home!
Hi everybody, my name is Putra Prasada, from Bali, currently the new international student in Macquarie Uni, love to laugh and make jokes, movie goer, sports lover, love to bbq and read comics That's all from me, i hope I'll find the right flatmates sooner or later Cheers
I am a 28yo guy from New Zealand doing my PhD in geology at Macquarie University. I will be starting my 3rd year having just got back from an exchange studying in Germany. I enjoy sports and the outdoors. I am polite, tidy, relaxed, respectful, and responsible.
I'm a neat and tidy domestic student studying Business Admin/Arts at Macquarie University. I work part-time at a hotel and keep myself busy with study and work commitments. I am pretty chilled and enjoy socialising in a relaxed environment. My hobbies include reading and creating art, I enjoy drawing and painting.
