I work for Telstra so get some benefits there. Am organised in terms of automating the house bills, rent and all that jazz.. Have all (good) furniture required of the house. For fun I do stuff with mates, PC or board games, gym, pub, restaurants! amongst other things. I am from Vic originally but moved to ACT area about 5 years ago.
I am a friendly and adventurous person who prefers quiet Friday nights at home. I like to keep spaces, especially common areas, clean and presentable. I am respectful of others' privacy, the way I like mine to be treated, but am also up for chats over dinner and hanging out. I'm also a big dog lover, having 3 of my own (but they won't be moving with me). I'll be moving from Sydney to Canberra for work in 2017, so it'll definitely be an experience moving away from home. I love being out in nature, hiking and exploring new places. I have a huge soft spot for food, so I like trying out new and different cafes. I also enjoy spending time with friends and getting to know people. In my own time, I like to write, read, play music, and watch TV shows :)
I'm looking for an affordable and comfortable place to stay in the ACT, because I love living around Canberra. I work as a translator, and although I am friendly, I am also introverted and I mostly keep to myself. In my spare time, I enjoy playing video games and reading. I'm not naturally tidy, but I don't like filth, so I may leave things lying around sometimes but otherwise I keep things clean.
Hi! I am 25, single and looking for somewhere to live in Canberra. I've been renting for the past four years in Canberra but my lease is ending shortly. I work 7am - 4pm, five days a week and when I am at home I enjoy relaxing and unwinding. I am away most weekends with sporting commitments.
Hi, Just looking for a place in Queanbeyan. I'm a socialable and easy going person. I'd like to live with someone who I could hang out with and have a couple of drinks with at the end of the day but I'm fine living with someone who just likes to do their own thing. I do play guitar but will absolutely be respectful of the noise levels. Apart from that, I'm just looking to a put a roof over my head and meet new people.
Moving down to Canberra from Sydney, looking forward to starting my new career in February. Looking for a share house with other social professionals who value privacy but also know how to have a good time! Please shoot me a message for more information :). (Looking to move in early February or very late January for unfurnished bedrooms)
I'm 34, work full-time in medical admin; and I'll be commencing part-time study next year. I'm a friendly person and happy to have a chat but I'm quiet most of the time and appreciate my space. I'm more than happy to pull my weight and do housework. I'm respectful of others and their property. In my spare time I enjoy watching movies, reading books and going for walks/bike rides. I'm reliable, clean and tidy and a non-smoker.
I am a mum and will have my youngest son traveling to Canberra with me. We have a border collie dog, Alfie and he is a great companion for my son. I am moving to Canberra to work full time and my son will go to school. We are fairly quiet including Alfie and respectful of others but we do like to have fun and we are easy to get along with. I like to live in a clean tidy house and we always clean up after ourselves.
Hi my name is Cassandra(Cassie) and I'm a 27 year non smoker. I work full time in admin and enjoy spending my spare time in the gym or exercising outside. I live a pretty quiet lifestyle but don't mind the occasional wine or beer. I consider myself a pretty good cook and I make a pretty good cheese cake too :) I do have cats that are litter trained and used to being inside.
Professional female, I've been renting for four years but my lease is ending shortly. Looking anywhere around the Canberra Area. I work in real estate 6 days a week, I'm not home very much but when I am at home I do enjoy relaxing and unwinding.
I am a law graduate from Melbourne and I'm moving to Canberra In late January to commence a full time APS graduate program. I'm hoping to be able to move in with some fellow graduates or people in their early to mid twenties but I'm pretty flexible. I'm an easy going and sociable guy and given that I'll be new in Canberra and keen to meet new people, I'd love to live with outgoing people who enjoy raving parties as well as laid back Sunday sessions or group dinners every once in a while. I'll be working full time so I won't be home much but I can cook and I pride myself on my tidiness. I'll also have a car with me which I'd be more than happy to share to make life easier. In terms of hobbies I really enjoy skiing and rugby league and, as a native Queenslander, you'll find me completely decked out in maroons gear during the state of origin season! I also enjoy the gym and the outdoors. Due to my workplace being in Barton, I'm hoping to secure a property on the Southside preferably around Kingston or Griffith. Ideally I'd like to spend $250 per week, however if the property/people are top notch then I'd be happy to increase up $280-300 per week. Looking forward to hearing from you!
I have recently accepted an offer to work full-time for the Department of Veterans' Affairs as an ICT Graduate, and am looking for accommodation starting in early January. I am moving to Canberra from Brisbane on the 7th of January, though I am flexible, and more than happy to join a lease prior. I am twenty one years of age, and have recently completed my undergraduate Bachelor of Information Technology, with a major in Software Development, from Griffith University. I am an easy-going, considerate and sociable person, and am a strong believer in cleanliness. I have a passion for travelling and enjoy playing computer games in my free time.
Alicia: I am relaxed but do love to chat after a day's work, I am a housemate who is friendly and easygoing at the same time. I will respect your privacy but hope to be on friendly terms with my housemates. I am enthusiastic about good coffee, bike riding, seeing live music and reading. I also have a partner, Tom, who will be visiting for a bit and then living with me after I move to Canberra. He also loves coffee and bike riding and can play the guitar quite well. Tom loves any beer that is brown/strong and purchasing LPs for his record player. He is a vegetarian, but i'm not and will eat almost anything. We will both be full-time professionals who want to make the most of our time in Canberra with weekend trips and socialising. Both of us have been living with 3 other flatmates in Melbourne, with a cleaning roster that we stick to.
I'm a Graphic Designer originally from rural NSW, now working NewActon with a full time position, I am able to start renting. Ideally looking for somewhere in Inner South or Inner North to be able to ride or walk to work and not have to rely on paid parking, and the juggles of my car each day. Down for socialising and meeting new people, casual drinks etc, but can easily keep to myself with extra design work at home (only if i can fit a desk in my room) or at the office. I'm also trying to get a bit more cooking in for the weekly grind to save costs.
Moving to Canberra from Victoria to work full time. Looking for a place to share. Anything that is reasonably priced and close to Watson where I will be working would be great. I'm clean, cool, fun and hoping to hear from someone soon. I will need a place from January 7. I am particularly interested in teaming up with 1 (maybe 2 max) other person (s) to find a place to share together. Chuck us a message!
Hi. I am moving to Canberra in the new year to start work with the Dept Agriculture and Water. I am in my 40s and I'm looking for a quiet place in a shared house for me and my beautiful quiet gentle dog, a rescue greyhound called Bessie. We therefore need a place with a secure fenced in backyard. She is cat friendly, and no trouble at all. I am tidy, considerate, environmentally conscious and a good cook and handy gardener. I think I would fit in well with mature aged students or other professionals.
Hello! I'm a 28 year old male public servant looking for a room long-term in the Inner North. Looking to share with public servants/professionals/postgrads. I'm a friendly, easy-going sort of person who has lived in a couple of different share houses and knows the importance of keeping common areas clean and respecting other people's space. I'm fairly busy and am out and about a fair bit. But I definitely think it's important to get to know the people I'm sharing my home with and I'd be keen to live with people who like to hang out for a meal or a drink sometimes. Looking forward to hearing from you! Lawrence
I am a Danish exchange student, who will be studying at ANU for 1 semester starting Feb. 14th 2017 in order to finish my BA degree in anthropology. I consider myself openminded and easygoing, fond of travelling and meeting new people. I have been living with different roommates for the past 4 years, and I truly loving living with other people. I also know how important it is to have a lovely living-environment, especially when it comes to balancing between being friends and having fun on the one hand, and respecting privacy and keeping the place clean and a nice place to live on the other.
I am moving to Canberra in late January/early February from Melbourne to commence an APS graduate program on the 6th February. I am looking to move into a share house with other people in their mid 20s. As I am new to Canberra it would be great to live with people I get on with socially as well and don't just keep to themselves. It would be bonus if the people I live with enjoy/tolerate my dad jokes and dry sense of humour. I would like a house that is kept clean in common areas, but I would say I am fairly easy going and I'm not going to yell at you if you haven't got around to doing the dishes yet (as long as you are going do them eventually) or your room isn't spotless. I certainly do not mind a party (preferably at someone else's house) or just a casual sunday drink, but it's sometimes also great to spend a Saturday night chilling on the couch and watching a movie. I would love to cook and share a meal with my housemates once in a while as well. I don't really have many hobbies, I love true crime podcasts and watching tv shows, going for walks and going to the gym. I've been studying for 5 years so maybe I will find some new hobbies now I am free haha. I would like to live in the inner/suburban north but I am open to other areas as long as it isn't too far by bus/car to work in the (north side) city centre. I am hoping to pay $200 a week (or less), but again I am open to up to $250 if the place and people are right. I would also prefer to live in a house/townhouse as opposed to an apartment, as I'd prefer having an outdoor area (even if it is small). Please feel free to message me to ask me anything :)
Relaxed 22 year old male with a naturally happy disposition seeking place to stay while studying primary school teaching for 4-5 years Into video games, movies and gym, always up for a chat or an impromptu adventure, ideally looking for a place I can feel at home and enjoy the company of the people I am staying with, love standing around having a good yarn about nothing and everything - I don't smoke and I drink occasionally I enjoy boxing for fitness/fun, am a mediocre table tennis and billiards player but make up for lack of skill with enthusiasm as I do with all aspects of life Am an experienced cook and live a clean minimalist lifestyle I have my own car and don't mind driving for a late night kebab run love animals so any home with pets would be well received!
I've just finished an arts/law degree at ANU and am looking for somewhere to live when I start full-time work in Canberra next year. I'm an easy-going and respectful housemate who appreciates the occasional housemate hangout (hopefully featuring wine/tea and trashy TV) but also understands the need for personal space and quiet time. I've also been living out of home for the last seven years so I'm totally house-trained - I pay bills on time, clean up after myself and know how to share and respect common spaces.
I'm Greg 25 yo male, student and business owner, looking for a stable place to rent in Canberra. I enjoy having conversation with housemates and sometimes a drink or two. Clean and respectful, away and busy throughout days.
Hello. I'm hoping to move out of my current sharehouse anytime from the 1st January - March, to somewhere in the inner north with a bit of garden space (I'm keen to start a veggie patch). Ideally somewhere with 2-4 other housemates who don't mind the occasional shared dinner and a good chat. I work full time in the public service, and aside from that like trips to the markets/op shop, cooking, trying to garden and watching if you are the one with a gin and cran. if you've stumbled across my profile and think your place may be right for me please get in touch :)
Health Sciences/Law Grad moving to Canberra to take up a Graduate job. Looking to live with easy-going people in a relaxed environment. Tidy and conscientious, typically quiet but also like to socialise.
Hi there! Looking out for a nice place to live in Canberra towards the end of the year or start of next year. I'll be starting a new job at the Treasury as a policy analyst in February. The house ideally needs to be semi or fully furnished with a parking spot for my car (can be off-street). The room must be well-lit, and can be furnished or unfurnished. I'm a positive, friendly and honest person. I like reading, travelling, and yoga, and also like to keep active by swimming and running. I'd also like to get into cycling, and I'm looking forward to some trips to the snow! My main interests are political economics and international development. I'm quite an easy-going person to live with, and I like to keep things clean and tidy. My partner is living in Adelaide and would occasionally come and visit every 1-2 months on the weekend, so I need to live with housemates who are relaxed in that regard. We don't tend to hang around the house anyway. I'm looking for housemates who I can occasionally spend time with in the evenings and on the weekends. Ideally, my housemates would enjoy having a good chat about the world, and have a good sense of humour. Cleanliness is a must. Please shoot me an e-mail if you have something suitable.
Hi! My name is Jackie, 38 yrs. old. I have a 5 yr. old son. We are from South Korea. I am a Filipino and my son is half Korean. I will be studying in CIT and was in IT career for almost 10 years. I am a very organized person and loves having a clean house. I look younger than my age as many says maybe because I am a happy and friendly person. You can easily get along with me well. My son as also is a very nice and well-behaved kid. It would be fun having him around. We love walking around and see the nature and its beauty. Biking, fishing, picnic is fun.
I currently work full time as an Insurance Adviser and have lived in Canberra my whole life. I am easy going and always up for a laugh but also very much enjoy my own company. I have a pretty low key Mon - Fri routine, but on the weekend am always keen to be social and spontaneous. I am far from OCD but do like common areas to be tidy. I come with a dog, a 10 year old maltese x shihtzu who loves attention and cuddles.
I am 18 years old and looking at studying psychology at ANU next year. i will be moving from Hobart and will be needing a place to stay long-term. i am quiet, independent, hard working, clean and friendly.
Hey, I'm John - I'm a jaunty character, who hails from Adelaide. I've just started work as a systems engineer ready for Canberra Phase 2. I pluck the six-string and love beers in sunshine. I'm rather tidy and very organised. I'm social and love meeting new faces, and then subsequently getting to know their names.
I'm interesting with a lot of life experience in the arts. I am a people person. I work as a visitor experience host in the arts. I'm looking for a single male or female over 40 to share with.
Hey, I am 24 years old and from India. I will be studying at the Australian National University. I like to read, listen to music, watch movies and enjoy swimming in my free time. I am respectful, easy going, clean and tidy.
Hi ! I'm a french student in an engineering school in Paris. I am currently in a gap year and after 6 months in Sweden, I will spend 6 months in Canberra for an internship at the CSIRO. I will be working there full time from mid february to the end of july. I'm pretty social but also like to have my own space, I am used to live with flatmates. I am respectful of others and clean! As I will come from France, I won't have any furniture, so I am looking for a furnished room. I am very excited to live in Australia for six months, I hope I'll meet new friends and I am looking for room in a friendly home!
Dearest future flatmates, I'm moving to the nation's capital for work (journo) and am keen to bunker down with some like-minded souls. Ideally, I'm looking for a sharehouse full of young professionals who work hard, but still enjoy a Friday knockoff/midweek red. I’m a Brisvegas boy originally but have spent my post uni years working in Victoria. I'm 25, enjoy a decent movie, page-turner or chingwag, but my first love is sport and getting outdoors (keen snowboarder). I've been lucky enough to do more than my fair share of travel and tend to spend my annual leave exploring somewhere new. I only know one person in Canberra so am keen to meet some new people from all walks of life and will likely play some social sport. What can I bring to the house? - I've lived in sharehouses in Australia and overseas since I was 18 and understand what makes for good vibes and when people need their space. - I make a pretty deadly chicken-bacon carbonara and prefer house cookups over solo couch meals, but appreciate the latter has its place. - On rare occasions I have been known to provide that tricky trivia night answer after pulling out some random (albeit mostly useless) fact. - I can be talked into trying most things, especially new food or checking out gigs of up-and-coming musicians/comedians. Don't hesitate to shoot me questions or hit up any past/present people I've shared a roof with. Cheers potential roomies, ET
I am a winter-loving, foodaholic moving to Canberra to work with the APS. I enjoy cooking, going to markets, playing boardgames and the occasional dinner-party. Although sad to be leaving Melbourne, my gorgeous flat, my family, friends and housemates AND my previous student/barista life behind, I am super excited about this next step and all the amazing people I'll meet and places I'll see!
Hi, my name is Georgia. Looking to move out around the inner north in early to mid January with a friend (possibly - or just me). Easy to live with, happy & social person yet very busy with work and training on weekdays! I'm an early riser and work as an exercise physiologist. On top of cooking and cleaning etc!
Hey guys, my name is Riley. I am moving down to Canberra from QLD, to work full-time with the APS. I consider myself a clean, easy-going and respectful person who is happy to socialise and spend time by myself, as well. I can pay rent or bond in advance.
From day-to-day, I love to cook, be healthy, practice yoga, go for runs, watch movies, read, and listen to music. Less day-to-day, I enjoy travelling abroad and road-tripping at home. I'm from Canberra, but have lived in the USA as a dual citizen; currently studying human rights and development studies at the ANU while working on the side. Also passionate about the environment and responsible consumerism.
I have just accepted my offer into the Master of Economics at ANU, and am looking for accommodation around uni. I am currently scheduling the move to Canberra for the first week of February, but am flexible if you would prefer earlier/ later. A bit about me: I am 23, and completed my undergrad in 2015 from the University of Sydney, majoring in Political Economy and International Relations. I grew up in Pakistan, and moved to Australia in 2011. I am half Australian and half Pakistani (have passports from both countries). I have been sharing with my housemates in Sydney since March last year, and have grown to love them very much. I know when to keep to myself, but also like being able to come home and share the occasional dinner/drinks. I clean up after myself always, and contribute to the household regularly. I am easy going, and will be working part time and studying the rest of the time.
I am a young professional. I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I do a lot of exercise in my free time and I enjoy listening to music. I am accommodating and relaxed. I keep the house tidy. Every few weeks I will bring a group of friends around for a taco and board game night.
I'm from Sydney but I'm moving to Canberra in 2017 to start postgrad study at ANU - I'm flexible with my moving date. I'm a mature individual, and I keep everything (but my sock drawer) tidy. I'm easy to get along with and I'm always up for a chat/being social, but am happy to keep to myself in the house if that's the go. I love sports, particularly netball, and am looking to get involved in a new club/team once I move. I'm a music fan (the non-snobby kind), and love to attend big concerts as well as local gigs. I'm open to different locations, though as a Sydneysider who has spent her life traveling and commuting to everything - I'd love to take advantage of the size of Canberra and live somewhere central.
Hey stranger :) I'm an almost 20 yr old student at ANU, currently studying a double degree in Arts/Science after transferring from UniMelb, majoring in Political Science, Economics and Mathematical Economics, and minoring in Applied Statistics (maybe: not quite sure what I'm doing with myself atm :/.) I also work casually in service, so my job, uni work and extra-curriculars keep me pretty active. Looking for a place to move into close to campus, shops etc. for convenience. Have been living away from home self-catered for 3-ish years now, so I'm pretty familiar with this gig. I'm pretty chill and absolutely respect personal space, property etc., so beyond being a bit fussy with cleaning and noise, I reckon I'm pretty easy to live with. I'm interested in almost anything and everything: tennis, rock-climbing, filmmaking, movies, games, photography, music, tech stuff, so I'm a bit all over the place. Needa move by the 31st of Dec at the very latest (possibly later but kinda rough on my end), so if you've got something that works hmu :)
Hey! I'm Astrid. I'm moving to Canberra from Brisbane in early January to start working full-time in Parliament House. I've just completed my university degree, studying IT, and am super keen to pursue this new opportunity. Don't let that little '20' next to my name fool you, I think the fact that I'm moving to Canberra for work at my age should say enough about the kind of person I am. I'm a hard worker, though I'm also up for a few casual drinks or meals after work, but I am by no means the partying and clubbing type. I'm really looking forward to having more time to get out and about and exercise, so if you're into rock climbing, road tripping, kayaking, bike riding or whatever else then that's great! I'll be heading down to Canberra on the 3rd of January, but I've generously been given 3 weeks temporary accommodation by my department, so I'm sorted for somewhere to live until the 24th. However, I would really like to spend that time searching for a new place to call home, and would love to come and check out any places or catch up for a couple drinks to meet any new potential housemates. I'm not particular on the length of time, but I'm not looking for short-term accommodation. 4 to 12 months + would be great!
I'm a young professional looking for a relaxed house with great people. I'm usually pretty busy, but always keen for a glass of wine and a chat when I'm around. Love great food, gardens and nordic furniture.
I'm a ANU arts/law student working in a law firm part time. I'm clean and quiet but also love to socialise with the people I live with. I love reading and hanging with friends as well as baking so there are always sweet treats in my house!
