I have a very balanced lifestyle. Between working full-time in a hotel and hanging out/walking my dog, I also love to cook, watch TV series and going out with friends. I am able to give my housemate as much space as they like but also enjoy a chat or maybe a beer together once every week or 2. I am extremely clean and tidy and although I like to hang out with friends I tend to do that outside of the home, and keep the home I am living in quite quiet and comfortable. I own a lot of my own furniture already and am happy to share what I already own. My dog is beautiful to live with, I take him out for walks everyday as to keep him happy and calm, but he does love a cuddle. Currently sleeps inside but I can arrange a kennel for him outside if needed.
We are both ANU medical students with busy lives, who have been housemates for two years. We are respectful, quiet, communicative and great at sharing duties around the house. We'll stay out of your hair, but love the occasional housemate dinner. We have lots of experience living with people from all walks of life, and get along well with just about anyone. When we're not studying, Will likes acting and Phoebe enjoys a round of golf.
Hello! I am a young professional in my late twenties. I am often described as thoughtful, playful, and tolerant by those who know me. I consider myself very tidy, clean, and respectful. I am looking to share a house/flat of mixed gender, ideally with other professionals, but students are fine too. Preferably 3-4 people (including myself). I love animals, so pets are not a problem. (That said, I do not have any pets of my own and won't be bringing or acquiring any). I love good food, outdoors, exploring new places, trying new things, exercise and lead an active lifestyle. Well maybe not as much as those who live in lycra and compete in sports... but I do enjoy the fresh air. I also enjoy being a home body, and would be happy curled up on the couch with a glass of red, playing board games with whomever is up for a chat. I am a clean and organised person, but I don't go nuts with cleaning rosters. I believe we're all capable of pitching in with the cleaning when needed and when it's not inconvenient to do so. That said, I'd prefer not to live in a pig sty. If I sound like the right flatmate to you, shoot me a message, introducing yourself and the other tenants. Thanks! P.S. I do want to be part of a home and get to know you all, not just living with flat mates, however I have a preference to do my own cooking. Happy to participate in house dinners every now and then, especially the spontaneous ones, but I don't want to be committed to three different dinners cooked by three different people each week. My cap for shared dinners is probably once a week i.e. someone different takes a turn to cook every Tuesday, rather than three different people cooking three different days in the same week. P.P.S. I cannot live without a dishwasher. They are the best thing ever invented and I will use it religiously. Criteria: - Built in Robes (with lots of hanging space and shelves). This is non-negotiable. - Room that can fit a Queen Bed, side table, lots of other boxes/things etc. this is non negotiable too. - Car port/ undercover parking with automatic doors (highly preferable, but could be overlooked if everything else was perfect) - En suite (preferable, but not a must. Happy to share a bathroom with one other, but no more). - Lots of storage space (inside the house - not a storage cage) - Dishwasher - Housemates that are not hermits - Age of household: 25-35. Ideally, I would like to live with people who are around my age, and are social. - I do not want to live with infants, young children, or a family/home stay style arrangement. - I do not want to live in Gunghalin, Dunlop, Harrison, or Crace - sorry, it’s just too far from work.
We are a young couple, one of us is a student/part time worker and the other is in the APS. We are looking to move out of our parents' houses. We tend to keep to ourselves as we work, both day and night shifts however we are social on the rare occasion our schedules line up. We would prefer somewhere with our own kitchen/kitchenette as we are vegan and nut free. We both work and go to school in the city so, we are looking for something around that area (basically not Tuggeranong or Belconnen). Thanks for reading!
Hey, everyone. My name is Victor. Coming from Brazil and Venezuela, I am looking for a room to finish my studies and settle down in this great country. I speak English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese, and am great at housekeeping and cooking. Pretty quiet, neat, and helpful, I get along well with men and women alike and love to talk. More than happy to chat!
Hi All, I am moving to Canberra from Brisbane in January 2018 to work as a full time teacher. My partner will be working on the Army base and will be living on base for 12 months. I am looking for a modern apartment or townhouse with space to park my car. Furnished or unfurnished - does not bother me (as long as I can bring my bed), I am happy to purchase the essentials. I will be spending most of my spare time playing sport. As I won't know anyone in Canberra I would love to live with someone who would like to hang out for dinners, drinks, shopping etc. I am very neat, today and love cooking dinners. I like to keep bathrooms immaculate and have a strong dislike for old bathrooms with shower curtains!
I'm moving to Canberra from Melbourne to start work as a grad in the public service, looking for somewhere clean and relatively close to work. I mostly just read and watch movies at home, so I'll generally keep to myself, but do also enjoy a chat/drink (and not averse to a good party either if that's your thing). I'm a pretty tidy person, and a non-smoker.
Hi, My name is Nicollette, I am an easy going 21-year-old female who will be working full time as a registered nurse and looking for a place to stay (All female) for roughly one year. I am clean and tidy but not overly pedantic. I’m always up for a chat, dinner or drinks, not a big party person either and respectful of others personal space. I will also be bringing a small budgie-sized bird with me who won’t be any trouble :) I am looking to move in early February so please send me a message if interested.
I'm an 23 year old bachelor graduated in hospitality management. I have been living in Sydney for 4 years and now moving to Canberra for a full time restaurant supervisor position. So if I can find a place in kingston it would be the best as I don't have a car at the moment. I'm gonna work 5-6 days a week and pretty busy with work but I like maintaining a social life. I always pay rent on time and keep thing tidy, wouldn't mind share the house cleaning with others :) I'm easy going and love to socialize with people. Won't hesitate for a chat and have a good time together but I also respect people privacy. I love music and movie and a pet lovers as well.
Hey! I'm moving to Canberra from Perth late January to begin working in the public service. I'm looking for a furnished room and I don't mind paying extra for my own bathroom. I will be bringing my car, so a car space or easy parking will be needed. I love to travel, go out to eat and sleep. I can be quite the chatterbox, but also do keep to myself and like my downtime (naps). I'm clean, respectful and excited to see what's around the Canberra area, would love if weekend adventuring out and about was a thing! I'm just hoping to see what's out there at the moment leading up to my move :)
Hi there, My name is Michelle, I am 24 years old, and I work as a nurse at The Canberra Hospital. I am friendly, considerate, neat, and a fairly quiet, reserved sort of person, who will always make it a priority to pay rent and utilities on time. I am not into loud partying or things like that, but do enjoy the occasional drink with friends. I have a 10-year-old small/medium dog named Roxy, who is the most perfect creature! She doesn’t shed, rarely barks, absolutely doesn’t bite, and I do have a rental reference specifically for her. I am quite flexible on the length of lease. Please let me know if you’d like to see a reference for either Roxy or myself. Thanks for your time!
I'm 27 and work in the public sector. I'm from Sydney and recently moved to Canberra. I'm pretty laid-back and tidy. I enjoy watching Netflix after work to unwind. Always up for socializing but also respectful of personal space.
I like having adventures, mostly outdoors on rocks and in forests. I’m fairly social and like hanging out with friends. At home, I’m fairly quiet but usually also up for chat! I’m an early bird and not thus not really into staying up late. But I do like music, gigs and dancing. I am clean, respectful and have many fond share house living experiences. I am looking for a home with other good people. I moved up from Melbourne last year.
I'm extremely clean, I love to cook ! I work only until 10pm at night so my hours aren't too disruptive to the household. I have a fair bit of furniture but can leave it in storage if need be.
Easy going, social, shared before, studying full time. Like people, pet friendly. I'm starting a masters at ANU Jan 22 and won't be arriving in Canberra until Jan 20.
I am a full time gym manager. I like to keep to myself but am happy to have a chat. I have an 8 month old male blue heeler puppy who is super friendly. I'm clean and pretty quiet. I'm very easy going and just tend to go with the flow.
Hi, I’m looking to relocate to ACT in 2018. I will be working as a nurse at Canberra Hospital, and, therefore, will be doing shift work. Currently working part-time in my hometown one hour away, but looking to relocate prior to commencing full-time work in February. I will be respectful of others privacy and property, and would appreciate the same in return. I’m an easy going, clean and quiet person. I would enjoy having some meals together with a flat mate, and generally living with someone I can have a chat with. Also willing to live on my own in a granny flat or 1 bedroom unit or studio.
67 yo writer/academic/professional; house trained, enjoy cooking. Easy-going, quite, low-key. Retired; writing a novel - need to undertake research at National Library and national institutions. Will be away most weekends (Friday-Sun inclusive)
Hey! I'm joining the Treasury Graduate Program in Feb 2018. I'm coming from Sydney, and I'm very excited about being able to potentially walk/cycle to work. I am outgoing & neat, love cooking & baking, have great TV/movie/book recommendations, a tea snob, definitely not an alcohol snob, and love travelling. I'm low-key savage, but also a bit of a grandma, so it balances out.
I am moving down from Brisbane in mid-December to begin a new graduate position in the health care sector. I am a friendly, kind and tidy non-smoking housemate who is more than happy to sit and chat or share a meal (I love to cook!) but also respect another's privacy. I enjoy fitness and sport and am interested in exploring and getting to know Canberra.
Hey! Mid-20's female looking for a place in the inner north or south. Easy going, neat, friendly and clean. Love playing sports and always looking for my next micro- adventures. You can usually find me out and about on the weekends and playing in a social comp during the week.
Hi, I am friendly, easy going, quiet and clean. I enjoy going to the gym or a run in the mornings so I can spend my evenings drinking wine and eating delicious food. Happy for a chat, but I also love my own time.
Hi! My name is Sarah. I'm a recent graduate from Sydney, about to start an APS job in 2018. I'm tidy, considerate and easy to get along with. I'm looking for a place to live for the coming year, preferably in Reid, Braddon, Turner, Campbell or Kingston.
*NO LONGER LOOKING FOR A PLACE * Hey, my name's Daniel! I'm a psychology graduate working full-time in the public service. I've been living in a 4-person sharehouse in Braddon for the last 1.5 years, with great housemates. Our lease expires on December 4th though, so I'm looking for a new place to move to around then. WHAT LOCATION I'M LOOKING FOR: I'm looking for a place within walking distance to the Canberra Centre, or somewhere close to a bus stop. THE HOUSE/ROOM I'M LOOKING FOR: The place I'm looking for would ideally have an ensuite, covered parking space, dishwasher, washing machine, and a bedroom with enough space for a queen bed, large desk, and digital piano (not necessary though!). WHEN AND HOW LONG I'M LOOKING TO MOVE: My current lease expires on December 15th 2017, so I would be looking to move between December 1-13th 2017. I'm interested in a 12 month lease, but am happy to negotiate :) WHAT I CAN BRING: I've got furniture for my room, but can also offer an iron and ironing board, large chest freezer, and some things for the kitchen. My ideal housemate/s would be friendly, sociable (but also understanding of personal space), tidy, and of either gender. I believe it's important to have a coffee/beer/dinner every now and then so we wouldn't be complete strangers to each other, but I completely understand if you want your space. If you'd like to chat or meet up over coffee, let me know. I'm also happy to provide references.
I will be moving to Canberra to start working full time at the Royal Danish Embassy starting end January 2018. I'm currently a political science student from Denmark. I'm pretty easy going, easy to talk to and very sociable.Since I don't know anybody, I would love a roommate who also want to do something and spent time together (I'm not saying that i am going to be clingy, and I do respect and enjoy privacy). I'm very active. I like to play football/soccer and run or go hiking and explore the city. But I kind of also really like candy and Netflix - I get easily addicted to new series.
Hi all, Social and considerate 32 y/o with plenty of share housing experience. I don’t smoke, work full time in a science roll for the public service and throw a bit of study in occasionally. In my spare time I enjoy catching up with friends, cooking good food for myself and others, travel, movies, playing sport(professional social sport ring in) and running trails. Looking to move somewhere from November but very flexible
Heyya :) my name is Philipp and I am a German student. I grew up close to Frankfurt but moved south, close to the Swiss border for my studies. I spent my last seven months in Wellington as an exchange student and intern and I'm coming to Canberra in January for another 3-month full-time internship, so I'm looking for a place to stay for that time! :) I am fairly outgoing and really easy to live with, I've been told. :) I'm a rather sportive guy, my favourite sports being Tennis, Soccer, Basketball and a few others. I also really like to go for a beer or two at a pub ;) I would say about myself that I am quite tidy, although my Mom would probably disagree... I don't mind how many people I would be living with or how big the room/apartment is, like I said I'm quite easy-going, Anyway, if I sound like someone that you would like to live and have a yarn with, I would really love to hear from you and maybe we'll be flatmates soon! Cheers, Phil
$250 including all bills is my budget. Would prefer an ensuite and garage/carport. Iam friendly & easygoing. Clean and tidy. Happy to hang out with flatmates when free or not. Independent. Can pay bills on time. Mature. I am not looking for a party house as I study. Somewhere that can feel like home woukd be awesome. I love dogs and woukd love to live with one. Callanytime. 😊
I'm Jenna. I'm 27 and will be relocating to Canberra from Melbourne in the new year. I will be working full-time as a public servant, am easy-going, polite and tidy. I love traveling, reading, eating and being outside. I like share houses that have a relaxed and comfortable vibe - not living in each other's pockets, but happy to share dinner or a glass of wine occasionally. I enjoy clean and tidy collective spaces, and respect other people's space and belongings.
Hola :) My name is Taya and I'm a 29 year old public servant. I'm originally from Newcastle and moved down to Canberra a couple of years ago for work. Although I miss the beach a lot, I am slowly getting used to Canberra. I have been renting with a friend since moving down here, however, it's time to move on and expand my social circle. I work shift work at the moment but hopefully not forever. I enjoy hanging out with friends, going to cafes, walking around the lake and of course, the odd wine or two.
Melbournian moving to Canberra for work Dec/ Jan(flexible) in the public service. Relaxed, tidy and independent. Can be social, but also really enjoy my down time. Reading/Binge watching TV shows/etc. Looking to live somewhere fairly central. Given I've spent my whole life in Melbourne, the people i know in Canberra can be counted on one hand...and if i lost a few fingers in an accident, they could still be counted. Friends are nice. Feel free to shoot me a message with any important questions that might make or break this partnership.
Hello! I'm a friendly full time public servant looking for a new place to call home. I've lived in a few share houses over the years so I'm good with keeping communal areas clean and tidy as well as respecting personal space. I'm easy going, considerate, quite into music, enjoy catching up on a few tv shows (the expanse, and doctor who amongst others) and a good hike. When i'm home I'm generally happy to share a meal, socialise or just shoot the breeze about life and stuff.
I’m Haynes, 23 years old, and from Melbourne! I’m working full-time in the APS (in Barton) and I’m looking to move closer to the city. As it's my first time living in Canberra, I’m keen to explore new venues/bars/restaurants and see what the city has to offer. I'm a very respectful, tidy and happy housemate who loves to be social but can also respect others personal space. I don't have any pets or dependents & I'm interested in securing long-term accommodation. Things I like: - Food festivals - Films - Good coffee (basically a pre-requisite to living in Melbourne) - 80’s music - Reading - Hiking/jogging - Cycling Ideally I'm looking for my own room in a friendly house. I’m interested in a long-term rental close to the city or universities – but I’m flexible. Shoot me a message, I’d love to hear from you.
Easygoing, clean and cheerful early 30s public servant, studying and working full time. Very active and social, out of the apartment a lot, but looking for a flatmate who is open to a Sunday coffee or having a few drinks on a weekend (or weekday!) and won't just be in their room all the time - but also values time apart and out and about a bit.
I'm Adrian. Enjoy playing tennis, music, travel, good food and crafty beer. I can cook and I'm quite fond of cleaning ;) I'm an IT professional currently working in Barton. My partner is going overseas for a year in December but my work commitments here in Canberra mean I can't go until next July. We are renting our own house out for the year so I'm looking for a place until July 2018.
Hi! I've recently moved to Canberra to start a role in the APS, and I'm looking for a place to move into by mid-December I'm very chilled out, enjoy sharing a meal or a beer with friends, but also appreciate quiet time at home. I'm looking forward to getting stuck into Canberra life including joining sports teams, whatever else I can do to build myself a social life in a new city! I'll be back and forth between Sydney every couple of weekends, as well as potentially for work. I'm tidy without being obsessive about it, and take really seriously how important it is for myself and others to feel comfortable at home. I'm looking for either an existing house, or perhaps starting a new sharehouse with other people. Let's meet!
Ayden & I are both active individuals who enjoy our down time when at home. When we're not training or traveling for competition (we're cyclists) we're usually watching netflix or down the road at a cafe. Other than cycling, I have just recently completed my undergraduate architecture degree in Sydney and plan on starting my masters degree in March at the University of Canberra. I love to cook & bake and appreciate a clean living environment. Ayden is super easy going & can get along with just about anyone (and he knows how to make a good cup of tea)! In between training he works with a catering company. We're looking for a new place as my lease in Sydney ends in November & Ayden's current Canberran flatmates are moving on in February. Ideally looking for a master bedroom with ensuite & also the capacity to store a few bikes. Minimum stay 6 months.
Hey! I'm Sandhya. I'm moving to Canberra from Perth, WA to start full-time work with the Australian Public Service next year. I love a good cup of coffee (but I swear I’m not a coffee addict), enjoy watching soccer (and playing it) and am always up for a game of monopoly, cranium or any other boardgame. Looking for a housemate that I can share an occasional meal with when we’re both home or chats over wine. Most importantly, I’m tidy (with a love of on point design aesthetics), respectful of personal space and down time, and can contribute top notch baking skills.
I'm moving to Canberra in January to begin work as a 2018 APS grad. Currently I'm finishing up my psychology degree in Newcastle, then will be travelling in Europe for a couple of months and moving down to Canberra after the new year. I start work on January 31 but happy to move in earlier and get settled into a place. Interested in meeting new people, getting to know Canberra, playing sports etc. I'm looking to a find a place within walking/cycling distance to Civic and ideally close to shops, restaurants. Prefer a place where everyone is clean and tidy, friendly, open for a chat and just generally laid back.
Hi there! I've been in Canberra for just under a year now and I'm looking for a new place to live. I'm social, but like to have a bit of me time also. I'm always happy to share a bottle of wine and am always up for a chat and small Canberra adventures. I'm originally from Sydney so I am still back and forth a little. I love pets (especially dogs) but don't discriminate between any animals, as long as they like a good cuddle. I'm clean, I'm nice and am always up for some good banter.
