Law and Health Sciences Grad moving to Canberra from Melbourne to take up a Graduate job. I'm tidy and conscientious, typically quiet but also like to socialise. Want to live with easy-going people in a relaxed environment.
Hi there! I'm a Graduate medical student from the University of Sydney, starting work as a doctor in 2017 as an intern at Canberra Hospital. Non-smoker, no pets, LGBTQI friendly, generally laid back sort of bloke who loves animals, music and impromptu kitchen karaoke.
I'm a quiet, private professional person looking to get settled in Canberra before I find my own place. I go to bed early and get up early most days for a run or a bike ride. I'm moving from Darwin to start work in Canberra on January 16. My party days are behind me, but I like good conversation.
Am very easy going and easy to get along with. Enjoy a good glass of wine with dinner after work. I love watching sport of any kind that is on. Am very social but can respect people's space and privacy when needed.
Hey, I currently live in Perth and am moving to Canberra for work with APS, would ideally like to find someone who is wanting to share a place together. I enjoy a beer on the weekends, love to watch and play sports, pretty chilled out. Please let me know if you are interested or would like anymore details. Thanks, Anton :)
Hey! I'm 25 working full time and studying part time at UC. I've been approved for two apartments - one on the foreshore and one on Blackall street in Barton and I need to pick one soon - I'm looking to team up with someone. I have all furniture and white goods needed but welcome any furniture you may have. Message me for more info!
Professional looking to start a share house with one or two other people. Prefer 30+ and who are clean, tidy and trustworthy. I travel for work a bit so am not always home. Will be relocating to Canberra in Jan 17. Yes, I am in my 40's (insert sad face here) but I am very sociable and am down to earth and love to be able to have a laugh with my roomies. On the flip side am respectful of needing space and downtime. I stay fairly quiet during the week as I am an early starter for work, but do enjoy a wine and a chat, especially by the end of the week !! Love to cook and am happy to share a meal or go to the local ...
Hi! Im Bec, I'm a friendly, outgoing full-time public servant who has lived in Canberra since Jan 2016. I like being outdoors, busy and social, but also enjoy having some down time! Hoping to find housemates who want a social house. Happy to live with one person or a few, eager to live close to the city (north side preferably) and move in asap.
I'm a very easy going student currently studying at UC and working a retail job. I'm easy to get along with, and looking forward to living in a nice group environment - I loved the last share house I was in! Happy to keep to myself if it's a quiet place, but I love to socialise. Always keen to play video games, board games, and just chill :)
I'm University student looking for a room to rent in Canberra over the summer while I am doing an internship. I'm a clean and tidy person, with an easy going attitude. I'm always up to explore new parts of the cities that I am in and try new things!
Hello, I've lived in Canberra for 2 years and work for a local winery. Hoping to move to Belconnen area or there abouts from mid January. I'm tidy, friendly, love travelling, and good for a chat. Ideally looking for a 2-3 bedroom apartment with garage space. Cheers!
Hi my name is Michele (Italian for Michael!) and I will be moving to Canberra in January from Melbourne to commence a Graduate Program within the APS. I am an easygoing, friendly, and considerate person who respects privacy. I enjoy chats about politics, science, and global affairs. I enjoy playing sport, especially soccer. Finding a running or swimming partner would be a bonus! I am a Seinfeld and X-Files nerd so I look forward to discussing how George and Scully are two of the best characters in TV. In terms of contributing furniture, I would have a couch/sofa set, tv and some other items if needed. I am looking to live with 1 or 2 housemates if possible, or to also start a teamup for anyone else willing to start a new sharehouse. I am looking to move towards the end of January 2017.
Hi I am Matt. I am a 24 year old non-smoker looking for a place in South Canberra. I am working full time in the city at the moment, and have a job with the Public Service starting next February so I would love to live close to my new work. I have lived with both male and female roommates. I am very friendly and relaxed, and would love to live with someone who is up for sharing the occasional meal/drink after a long day. I am quite neat and clean, and I am happy to put anyone who is interested in living with me in touch with my last couple of roommates.
I am a 27 year old working professional who recently moved from Sydney. I am someone who enjoys a good conversation with housemates but is also someone who likes a bit of downtime to relax. I am a tidy, clean and considerate person who enjoys spending time with friends, traveling and playing tennis.
25 year old (almost) lawyer from Sydney who is moving down to Canberra for work around early February 2017. Will be looking for a room in either Kingston (+ surrounding suburbs) or Braddon (+ surrounding suburbs). Looking to live with 1 - 2 housemates who are employed full time - either in an existing or new sharehouse. I'm hoping to find people who are sociable and easygoing but also respectful and tidy :-) Whilst I know a handful of people in Canberra, I would love to live with people I could get to know well and socialise with. When I am not at work I am usually at the gym and I tend to keep my weekends busy with social outings and outdoor activities. I do, however, often enjoy a lazy weekend at home just vegging on the couch and catching up on 'life admin'. If you have a room available or keen to start a sharehouse, please get in touch! :-)
looking for a place to stay for a year or longer sooner rather than later if possible recently finished school where I boarded
I have recently accepted an offer to work full-time for the Department of Veterans' Affairs as an ICT Graduate, and am looking for accommodation starting in early January. I am moving to Canberra from Brisbane on the 7th of January, though I am flexible, and more than happy to join a lease prior. I am twenty one years of age, and have recently completed my undergraduate Bachelor of Information Technology, with a major in Software Development, from Griffith University. I am an easy-going, considerate and sociable person, and am a strong believer in cleanliness. I have a passion for travelling and enjoy playing computer games in my free time.
I'm moving to Canberra from Sydney for a position in a government grad program, starting early February. I'm looking to live around Kingston, though flexible with surrounding suburbs. I'm super friendly, and like to bake so there will always be food around. I'm quite active, and I really love to dance. I want flatmates I can hang with and binge watch tv shows. If this sounds like you send me a message!
I have just secured a role in Canberra, as I live in Melbourne at the moment I will require living arrangements in early January 2017. I work in the Occupational health sector. I have been informed that I will be in Canberra on the 19th of December approx. to do a handover with my predecessor for several days before they finish up. I was hoping to have a look at a few properties during this time. Call me to discuss further. Thanks
Hey! I'm Astrid. I'm moving to Canberra from Brisbane in early January to start working full-time in Parliament House. I've just completed my university degree, studying IT, and am super keen to pursue this new opportunity. Don't let that little '20' next to my name fool you, I think the fact that I'm moving to Canberra for work at my age should say enough about the kind of person I am. I'm a hard worker, though I'm also up for a few casual drinks or meals after work, but I am by no means the partying and clubbing type. I'm really looking forward to having more time to get out and about and exercise, so if you're into rock climbing, road tripping, kayaking, bike riding or whatever else then that's great! I'll be heading down to Canberra on the 3rd of January, but I've generously been given 3 weeks temporary accommodation by my department, so I'm sorted for somewhere to live until the 24th. However, I would really like to spend that time searching for a new place to call home, and would love to come and check out any places or catch up for a couple drinks to meet any new potential housemates. I'm not particular on the length of time, but I'm not looking for short-term accommodation. 4 to 12 months + would be great!
Hey stranger :) I'm an almost 20 yr old student at ANU, currently studying a double degree in Arts/Science after transferring from UniMelb, majoring in Political Science, Economics and Mathematical Economics, and minoring in Applied Statistics (maybe: not quite sure what I'm doing with myself atm :/.) I also work casually in service, so my job, uni work and extra-curriculars keep me pretty active. Looking for a place to move into close to campus, shops etc. for convenience. Have been living away from home self-catered for 3-ish years now, so I'm pretty familiar with this gig. I'm pretty chill and absolutely respect personal space, property etc., so beyond being a bit fussy with cleaning and noise, I reckon I'm pretty easy to live with. I'm interested in almost anything and everything: tennis, rock-climbing, filmmaking, movies, games, photography, music, tech stuff, so I'm a bit all over the place. Needa move by the 31st of Dec at the very latest (possibly later but kinda rough on my end), so if you've got something that works hmu :)
Hey ! I'm French and I'm moving to Canberra for an internship beginning of January. I have been studying in Sydney for a year. I like traveling, hiking, politics, contemporary art, cycling, good food and drinks with friends. I am a clean and respectful flatmate. I would like to find a flat where everyone can have his private space but also sometimes where we can have dinner or casual drinks ! Looking for a flat with a good atmosphere. See you !
Generally friendly, easy going, like a chat, equally happy to do my own thing. I've been share housing all my life. I'm a bit of a project girl. Every now and then I get a bee in my bonnet and write a script for a short-film or have a down-home community art-photography exhibition or something. I was once an opera singer, but now I mostly just hum quietly in the shower. I love walking on Mt Majura (the moss was amazing this winter!). I'm looking for one or more mature flatmates, and I'm pretty partial to houses with big north facing windows.
I am from Sydney and I will be moving to Canberra to start an APS job. I enjoy socialising but also my down time and love a good cup of coffee! I like to get out on the weekends and explore the city, especially bush walking and swimming to keep fit. Having lived out of home for a number of years I know how to look after myself. I'm tidy and respectful especially in shared spaces. I love animals and would be more than happy to share with someone with pets although I don't have any myself.
Hi there, My name is Nelson. I'm 21 years old and have recently completed a degree in International Studies at Deakin, Melbourne. I am seeking a room for a 3 month period as I will be undertaking an internship with the Australian Institute of International Affairs in Canberra. I'm friendly, easy going and always up for a chat or a laugh. I will probably be focused on the internship predominantly, but am more than happy spending time with housemates and relaxing. I am attentive, clean and respectful, and mindful of others in their own space. I would preferably like a furnished room, or one with a bed provided at least, mainly so I don't have to cart all my stuff up from Victoria. So please get in touch if you have a room available. Thank you.
I am a young professional. I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I do a lot of exercise in my free time and I enjoy listening to music. I am accommodating and relaxed. I keep the house tidy. Every few weeks I will bring a group of friends around for a taco and board game night.
Hi everyone! We are a couple making our way down to Canberra to find a place we can call home! At the moment we both live on the Gold Coast and have just graduated university and been offered jobs down the capital! We are a very easy going couple, 34 & 27 yrs old who enjoy the outdoor life but also a night at home watching Netflix. We both will be working full-time in our new professions and planning to spend the weekends outdoors! We are looking for a room to rent for approx 3-6 months while getting comfortable in the new city. Most suitable would be a ensuite (but our own bathroom would be just fine). We will be arriving in Canberra around the 8th of January and hoping we could move in straight away :) If you want to live with a very easy going couple don´t hesitate to contact us! Send me an email Hope to hear from you soon!
I am a clean, friendly and relaxed housemate. I've been living in sharehouses for four years so I'm fairly used to it too! I'm a 23 year old public servant who moved to Canberra earlier this year from Melbourne, though I'm originally from Perth. In terms of hobbies, I enjoy reading, baking, binge watching Gilmore Girls, hiking, and photography.
Hey guys, my name is Riley. I am moving down to Canberra from QLD, to work full-time with the APS. I consider myself a clean, easy-going and respectful person who is happy to socialise and spend time by myself, as well. I can pay rent or bond in advance.
Dearest future flatmates, I'm moving to the nation's capital for work (journo) and am keen to bunker down with some like-minded souls. Ideally, I'm looking for a sharehouse full of young professionals who work hard, but still enjoy a Friday knockoff/midweek red. I’m a Brisvegas boy originally but have spent my post uni years working in Victoria. I'm 25, enjoy a decent movie, page-turner or chingwag, but my first love is sport and getting outdoors (keen snowboarder). I've been lucky enough to do more than my fair share of travel and tend to spend my annual leave exploring somewhere new. I only know one person in Canberra so am keen to meet some new people from all walks of life and will likely play some social sport. What can I bring to the house? - I've lived in sharehouses in Australia and overseas since I was 18 and understand what makes for good vibes and when people need their space. - I make a pretty deadly chicken-bacon carbonara and prefer house cookups over solo couch meals, but appreciate the latter has its place. - On rare occasions I have been known to provide that tricky trivia night answer after pulling out some random (albeit mostly useless) fact. - I can be talked into trying most things, especially new food or checking out gigs of up-and-coming musicians/comedians. Don't hesitate to shoot me questions or hit up any past/present people I've shared a roof with. Cheers potential roomies, ET
Hi, my name is Georgia. Looking to move out around the inner north in early to mid January with a friend (possibly - or just me). Easy to live with, happy & social person yet very busy with work and training on weekdays! I'm an early riser and work as an exercise physiologist. On top of cooking and cleaning etc!
I am moving to Canberra in late January/early February from Melbourne to commence an APS graduate program on the 6th February. I am looking to move into a share house with other people in their mid 20s. As I am new to Canberra it would be great to live with people I get on with socially as well and don't just keep to themselves. It would be bonus if the people I live with enjoy/tolerate my dad jokes and dry sense of humour. I would like a house that is kept clean in common areas, but I would say I am fairly easy going and I'm not going to yell at you if you haven't got around to doing the dishes yet (as long as you are going do them eventually) or your room isn't spotless. I certainly do not mind a party (preferably at someone else's house) or just a casual sunday drink, but it's sometimes also great to spend a Saturday night chilling on the couch and watching a movie. I would love to cook and share a meal with my housemates once in a while as well. I don't really have many hobbies, I love true crime podcasts and watching tv shows, going for walks and going to the gym. I've been studying for 5 years so maybe I will find some new hobbies now I am free haha. I would like to live in the inner/suburban north but I am open to other areas as long as it isn't too far by bus/car to work in the (north side) city centre. I am hoping to pay $200 a week (or less), but again I am open to up to $250 if the place and people are right. I would also prefer to live in a house/townhouse as opposed to an apartment, as I'd prefer having an outdoor area (even if it is small). Please feel free to message me to ask me anything :)
I am a winter-loving, foodaholic moving to Canberra to work with the APS. I enjoy cooking, going to markets, playing boardgames and the occasional dinner-party. Although sad to be leaving Melbourne, my gorgeous flat, my family, friends and housemates AND my previous student/barista life behind, I am super excited about this next step and all the amazing people I'll meet and places I'll see!
Hi there! I'm a 32 year old Australian, looking for long term accommodation in Canberra. I don't have a car and ride everywhere, so I am looking in suburbs not too far from the university; inner north and eastern suburbs. I'm easy-going, reliable and tidy, and as such looking for similar flatmates. I'm very sociable, and would like to live in a house with like-minded people, with whom I can have a beer, a chat and a laugh. I'm doing a PhD in linguistics at ANU and go away often for my research. I have no pets and I don't smoke, but I do have a cello. If you think we'd be great housemates place please get in touch! Cheers, Alex.
I am 25 years old, will be moving from Sydney to Canberra in December for work reasons. I am a high school teacher, outgoing and open to making new friends! Love my down time, but also love a wine on a Friday night and going out :) Would prefer 1 housemate, but open to 2 as well. Am pretty open to living where ever in Canberra (everywhere is pretty close)- but preference is for an apartment.
I am a law graduate from Melbourne and I'm moving to Canberra In late January to commence a full time APS graduate program. I'm hoping to be able to move in with some fellow graduates or people in their early to mid twenties but I'm pretty flexible. I'm an easy going and sociable guy and given that I'll be new in Canberra and keen to meet new people, I'd love to live with outgoing people who enjoy raving parties as well as laid back Sunday sessions or group dinners every once in a while. I'll be working full time so I won't be home much but I can cook and I pride myself on my tidiness. I'll also have a car with me which I'd be more than happy to share to make life easier. In terms of hobbies I really enjoy skiing and rugby league and, as a native Queenslander, you'll find me completely decked out in maroons gear during the state of origin season! I also enjoy the gym and the outdoors. Due to my workplace being in Barton, I'm hoping to secure a property on the Southside preferably around Kingston or Griffith. Ideally I'd like to spend $250 per week, however if the property/people are top notch then I'd be happy to increase up $280-300 per week. Looking forward to hearing from you!
Hi everyone, My name is Ilse, 27 years old, working in government in Canberra until 28 February. My current lease will run out by the end of January, so I'm looking for a short term housing solution for the month of February, until I have to go back to The Netherlands! I work fulltime and I'm easygoing, know how to cook, don't listen to loud music and will be out a lot! Looking for a place with or without flatmates, I could also house sit for you and your pets, no problem! Love to hear from you! Best, Ilse
I'm a PhD student at ANU, looking for a place starting early Feb 2017. I'm a quiet and neat person who keeps fairly regular work hours (roughly 9-5) and a normal sleep schedule, happy to chat but also happy to just do my own thing. Looking for someone similar to share a place with, and I'm leaning towards public servants or postgrad students - but if you aren't one and think you still fit the bill, feel free to write me a message. In particular I would like a room with my own bathroom, located not too far from ANU (I'm thinking Acton, Braddon, Turner, O'Connor, Reid, Barton, Kingston - in that order of priority), and preferably with just one or two other housemates.
I’m an early 20's male working in public relations and communications, moving from Brisbane to Canberra in early February for a grad job in government. I’m looking for a place to share with other young professionals or students who are clean, considerate and up for the occasional chat. I’m outgoing and enjoy socialising, but am also respectful of others privacy. I’d prefer to pay no more than $250 p/w inclusive of bills - although I am willing to pay more for a private ensuite - with a 6-month to 1-year lease. I’ll be working in Tuggeranong so something on the south side, but still relatively central would be ideal. I love going out on weekends, travelling, eating out, seeing live music etc. If you think I’d be a good fit for your share house or want to find a place, let me know!
I am looking for a potential place to live January (I am flexible with start dates and can move out anytime in January or early February), preferably in the City, Turner, Braddon, NewActon. Basically as close to the city as possible (within walking distance). I am looking for a long term stay (atleast 6 months - 1 year or more). A bit about myself: I am a 21 year old graduate in the APS. I am social but also like my own space and respect others. I am originally from Sydney but also lived overseas. I've been living in Canberra for three and a half years now. I am looking for a fully furnished place and if possible, an ensuite as well. Please feel free to message me if you would like to know more about me and/or if you have a room available :) Thank you! :)
I am a 32 year old Consultant moving to Canberra for work for up to 12 months from late Jan - Feb 2017. I am married with two kids although my family is going to be remaining in Brisbane while I'm in Canberra. I'll be working across Canberra and Brisbane projects so plan to be in Brisbane up to 2 weeks a month (although this is not guaranteed). Easy going, enjoy fitness. Existing internet access is a must.
I'm from Sydney but I'm moving to Canberra in 2017 to start postgrad study at ANU - I'm flexible with my moving date. I'm a mature individual, and I keep everything (but my sock drawer) tidy. I'm easy to get along with and I'm always up for a chat/being social, but am happy to keep to myself in the house if that's the go. I love sports, particularly netball, and am looking to get involved in a new club/team once I move. I'm a music fan (the non-snobby kind), and love to attend big concerts as well as local gigs. I'm open to different locations, though as a Sydneysider who has spent her life traveling and commuting to everything - I'd love to take advantage of the size of Canberra and live somewhere central.
Full time public servant who moved from Adelaide a few years ago for a grad program. Lover of cooking, quiet saturday nights, and travelling. Owner of a very friendly 2yo female cat. Comes with a living room's worth of comfortable, modern furniture.
My name is Vivienne and I have recently moved to Canberra from Sydney- I'm looking for a nice place to wind down after work that is also relatively close to shops! I like food, TV, dogs and being active (sometimes).
Hello! Moving down from Brisbane in early January to start a new APS job/ study part-time at ANU. Ideally looking for a house that is more than a financial transaction. Someone/People to hang out and explore Town with etc. But also totally understand those people who want to respectively sit in silence in their own rooms reading Harry Potter with a face masque. In terms of living together, I have lived in pretty much every type of share house situation now. So sharing chores, communal cleaning and respect are ingrained values. I am flexible on: - Start Date, - Length of Stay, - Room Type, - Bathroom situation and - Suburb. Let me know if you have any questions! Will/
I'm a Graphic Designer originally from rural NSW, now working NewActon with a full time position, I am able to start renting. Ideally looking for somewhere in Inner South or Inner North to be able to ride or walk to work and not have to rely on paid parking, and the juggles of my car each day. Down for socialising and meeting new people, casual drinks etc, but can easily keep to myself with extra design work at home (only if i can fit a desk in my room) or at the office. I'm also trying to get a bit more cooking in for the weekly grind to save costs.
Hi there! Looking out for a nice place to live in Canberra towards the end of the year or start of next year. I'll be starting a new job at the Treasury as a policy analyst in February. The house ideally needs to be semi or fully furnished with a parking spot for my car (can be off-street). The room must be well-lit, and can be furnished or unfurnished. I'm a positive, friendly and honest person. I like reading, travelling, and yoga, and also like to keep active by swimming and running. I'd also like to get into cycling, and I'm looking forward to some trips to the snow! My main interests are political economics and international development. I'm quite an easy-going person to live with, and I like to keep things clean and tidy. My partner is living in Adelaide and would occasionally come and visit every 1-2 months on the weekend, so I need to live with housemates who are relaxed in that regard. We don't tend to hang around the house anyway. I'm looking for housemates who I can occasionally spend time with in the evenings and on the weekends. Ideally, my housemates would enjoy having a good chat about the world, and have a good sense of humour. Cleanliness is a must. Please shoot me an e-mail if you have something suitable.
I am a 25yr old medical student starting placement at the Canberra Hospital next year. I am looking for a place southside with some friendly people to share with. I am generally kept very busy with study but I love having someone to chat to when I get home. I would preferably like to have my own space with my own bathroom but I will be flexible if I find the right place. In my spare time I enjoy fitness, movies and visiting my friends and family.
I'm a young professional looking for a relaxed house with great people. I'm usually pretty busy, but always keen for a glass of wine and a chat when I'm around. Love great food, gardens and nordic furniture.
A little lowdown about me! I'm 26, easy going, friendly and a bit funny. Originally from Newcastle, England, I've been living in Australia since 2014. I've travelled the East Coast and lived in the outback for 16 months, but planted my roots in Canberra since February where I've been lucky enough to be sponsored as a permanent resident. For work, I spend my days entertaining the youth of today in early childhood education. Socialising and road trips are two things that make me very happy. My friendship circle here is so diverse but it's great and we're always keen to expand! I do enjoy a cup of tea in the mornings so as long as we have a kettle I'll be happy. I'm a pretty clean person and I would expect whoever I'm living with to have the same respect in regards to keeping a place tidy. I think communication plays a huge role in a house share, I feel that by living in a shared house you need to be open and honest about any issues that may arise to make living a happy life even easier :) I'm a socialiable and pretty happy person so I would love to live with someone who isn't just hiding in their room all the time. However, I won't be clawing your door down for company as I still enjoy to just chill on my own sometimes, too. I'm pretty laid back, but as I work in childcare I have 0 tolerance towards hard drugs being used in the house or around me. However, if it's the weekend I'm always keen for a little drink or two. If you think you've got the perfect place just send me a quick little message and we can get something arranged! I have all my own furniture, too, so pretty much happy to move in hopefully within a week or two of viewing and agreeing upon the place :)
Hey, I'm a graduate public servant moving from Brisbane to Canberra in January. I've lived in share houses before so I know how to pull my own weight when it comes to cleaning. I'm friendly, always happy to chill and make new friends. In my free time I enjoy video games, board games and as this will be a new city for me I'd love to explore while seeing what Canberra has to offer. I'm not a party kind of house mate but I wouldn't be against having a few people over for a BBQ. One thing I expect in a house is internet (shared bill), close to a bus stop, shops within a reasonable distance and somewhere I can call home for a while. Feel free to send me a message if you wanna ask me any questions or if you have a place in mind. Again I'm not moving until January so this ad is early but I figure the earlier the better.
My name is Navina and I've recently moved from Sydney to Canberra and work full-time in Acton. I am a relaxed person, clean and tidy, sociable, enjoy a glass of wine of two but also respect other people's personal space. I'm very easy to get along with and am a lover of animals, nature, road trips and just chilling out with friends. Looking forward to hearing from you!
