$220/week42 year old man

I'm a 42yo male artist who has just been accepted into Melbourne Uni to begin part time post grad study in Political Science and Ethics. I have a very steady income from a disability pension plus a little extra from the occasional piece I sell. Ideally I would like a place where there is a space to use for a workshop/studio to do painting, 3D printing, woodwork etc. I'm looking for a place in the northern suburbs within a half hour of uni by train or tram where I can settle in and stay for a while. About Me I'm a long time vegetarian (but not militant about it) who enjoys cooking for others, politically progressive, a non smoker, have an eccentric sense of humour and am generally pretty chilled. I am an information junkie and love learning on just about any subject but my favourites are politics, history, language, art and culture.  Artistically I started off in digital art but have started to do sculpture, painting, model making, custom action figures, 3d printing, calligraphy, embroidery and nearly anything else that sounds interesting (I keep having to tell myself to stop buying art supplies).  I've also started doing a bit of carpentry and furniture making and am generally pretty handy.  So ideally anywhere I move will have a shed or garage or someplace that will work as a workshop.  I have a kit shed if there isn't anything existing, and I'm happy to share my tools and supplies with anyone who wants to try something creative or just fix something.  I also have a large selection of board games which I'm very much looking forward to introducing to new people. I used to go to the occasional outdoor festival and do a bit of camping and hope to do more now things are opening up. I also often make an effort to go to free lectures, art exhibits and other cultural events, plus movies and the occasional gig. My room can get a bit chaotic (especially when assignment time is on) but I keep the mess contained within. I have a small black house cat named Calypso. She is really small and clean and has  always lived indoors (except for a very nerve wracking 7 weeks when she escaped) but is extremely timid and so almost always just hides in my room. I would really like her to be a little more social with housemates but it's an ongoing project. Currently I keep her food and litter in my room which I'm happy to keep doing if there's no good space elsewhere in the house. I've never had any trouble with her at any places I've rented at. What i'm looking for I'm looking for a place to share with a few easy going people who enjoy a bit of occasional banter and good humour, and wouldn't object to me occasionally assaulting them with strange facts, and are keen to play some board games. I spend a lot of time in my room during semester, but I do like to hang out and chat or sit down to watch a movie, share a meal, play a game or do something creative with my housemates. I enjoy the occasional loud house party or social gathering till the wee hours of dawn (though I seldom organize them myself), but I do need things to be a bit more relaxed and quiet as assignments start to pile on. I'm after a room large enough to fit a queen bed, desk and a bunch of shelving, good internet access and a dishwasher.

$210/week61 year old woman

My intention is always to be considerate of others and mindful of another's personal space as I value my own space and quiet time immensely. As a quirky and unconventional 61 year old woman, I am also a mature, reliable, friendly and open minded person. As a result of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, I have put counselling studies aside, and will be dedicating myself to completing the writing of my memoir in 2022. At this point in life, I am fortunate enough to have an investment portfolio to draw from which has afforded me the opportunity to travel in recent years, and now to focus on writing. I do also receive a Centrelink payment to ensure I have money to live on to last into my twilight years. My main priority and focus at this time is to find a peaceful new abode to call 'home' - a soft place to lay my head. I have been living in Coburg North since June 2019 and have grown to love the area but the sense of 'home' has been elusive. My preference would probably be to live a bit closer to the city though. I love animals - especially cats, & my interests include nourishing personal relationships, actively working on consciousness & being 'awake' to indoctrination in all it's forms, mindfulness, mind/body awareness, healthy eating, listening to music (live & recorded) and expression in all it's forms - writing, singing, - and all things arts and community orientated. My preference is to live with mature people (chronological age is irrelevant) with integrity, who value open and honest communication. I identify as a Highly Sensitive Person (if you have to ask me what that is, we probably won't be a good fit). Someone similar would probably work well as the opposite has proved to be very challenging. I am an occasional smoker and always only outside.

$230/week29 year old man

Hello, my name is Kim - 29-y-o male looking for a houseteam to join for the foreseeable future. Work - I'm a barista by default but also casually an ebay seller, music eventertainer, secret shopper and an occasional airtasker. Personality, Interests & Hobbies - the great outdoors, software, events, history, anything music. I'm a bit of a mixed bag but aren't we all... WHEN I'M HOME I tend to be introverted at home but I also enjoy the camaraderie of having housemates. After 10ish years of hospo' and a few years of living in a new city, I rarely find myself feeling awkward. I have a muscular condition so at home I'm usually doing physio, hanging with bruce or working away on my laptop. Dog - He's a 7 year old Labrador mystery-cross-breed named Bruce, who's about the same size as any lab, just a bit taller and more muscular. He's trained, he's obedient, socially aware and somehow still learns new tricks. He regularly hangs with a dog half his size (and twice his age), can be trained to ignore cats and has even been a surrogate father to a few kittens. He stays off the couch, out of the kitchen, etc. Spends his days outside and sleeps indoors at night. All I ask is that his training doesn't become undone, he needs consistent treatment from everyone so he knows how to behave in that environment and around people who remind him of you. Years ago I made a video for potential housemates to check him out, so I've reuploaded it, the link is below. Maintenance - I've always lived in older houses so I can tackle just about any job around the place & I come with house+garden tools. Cleaning/Hygiene - Half my job is cleaning. I'm all about clean benches and unstained toilets. I do all the regular adult stuff like washing hands, covering coughs, closing the door when im sneezy etc. I tend to Bruce's bedding regularly and he's not allowed on the couch or in the kitchen. Gardening - I understand the joy of gardening, so I don't hog it. I also understand the annoyance of being the only gardener, so I don't ignore it. Parking - I have a car and don't mind the parking situation, as long as I'm not parking ages away.
