> full-time phd student > friendly and easy-going > respect others' privacy > have a car (so that my roommate and I can go out and have fun on holidays)
(looking to move out by August) Hey there! I'm a bubbly 19 year old girl working full time in Manuka as a dental nurse. For fun I like to hang out with friends, fishing, drinking with mates and watching Netflix. Most weekends I go home to my home town in Bredbo. I'm a bit of a neat freak so ideally I'd like to live with someone who likes to keep things clean. I like to keep to myself most the time (usually being lazy watching Netflix in my bedroom) but I'm always up for a chat. What I'm looking for is a tidy house where I can be myself, occasionally have my friends over (although when drinking I do it at friends places so I don’t mess up mine haha) Thanks, Lauren! X
I'm moving to Canberra for 2 months to work on the Mexican Embassy, I'm very responsible, easy going, punctual with payments and self-suficient (i know how to do laundry, clean the house, cook, iron my clothes and even change lightbulbs and fix sinks) I love to meet new people and go on adventures
Hey I'm Chris, another public servant looking for a new home. My current rental is getting sold, so I'm looking to move into or setup a share-house in the next month or so. I'm ideally looking for something relaxed, up for the occasional wine but also respectful of space. Prior to my current place I share-housed for a couple years. In my spare time I enjoy going for cycles, hikes, camping, the occasional canyon. Like many Canberrans I also go on fairly frequent road trips, and I'm looking forward to ski season. I own a decent amount of furniture so I could deck out a 2 bed, leaving only the bedroom for a potential house-mate to furnish. Although I'm also certainly open to selling some of my things.
Hi! I'm Alex, moving up to Canberra from Adelaide to start a grad job in the APS. I've just finished a business degree at Adelaide uni. I'm easygoing, optimistic and enthusiastic. I'm just as happy meeting new people or spending time with housemates as I am curled up somewhere with a book. I love cooking (pancake Sundays, omelette breakfasts, stew nights anybody?), comedy, hiking, markets, brunch. I also enjoy good banter, puns, camping and relaxed weekend cycling. In my free time I like to read, explore new places and travel - though coming to terms with only four weeks off per year might be a challenge! I'd love to share with interesting, relaxed people who are up for a chat and a glass of wine/bowl of food occasionally. I've lived in sharehouses before and am happy to do my bit to keep a nice home. I've previously worked as a dishwasher and a prep cook - would love somewhere with a good kitchen. I'll be bringing/buying some new gear, too. I also don't smoke and I don't have any pets. Hope to hear from you soon, Alex
Hi, I am a consultant and my company has asked me to relocate me from Brisbane to Canberra. I am looking for a housemate who enjoys good banter, great food and wine and a bit of dancing. During my downtime I am always up for anything that equals fun and adventure. I am tidy and respectful of other people's space and belongings. If this sounds ok to you let me know 🙂
Hello, we have just relocated to Canberra from Wanaka, New Zealand. We are pretty chill, hobbies include eating good food, skiing, biking and wiping down the kitchen bench, all with a glass of rose. Both working full time. We are social and up to meet new people in town but also happy to do our own thing. Would love to hear of any rooms you may have available.
Hey! I'm a public servant looking to live closer to work. I am from Orange and have lived in Canberra for almost a year. I have five years experience of living in uni share accommodation. I'm easy going, clean and tidy. I love socialising and a good chat, but also respect people's space and privacy. I'm looking to team up and starting a share house or to find a room in an existing house preferably in mid May/early June. Feel free to contact me if you're interested.
My name is Molly, I'm 17 years old turning 18 in October and I'm studying psychology, ceramics, music, drama, and English at Dickson College (year 11 & 12). My income is Centrelink - Youth Allowance, although I'm actively looking for work in the Dickson and City area. I enjoy reading and gardening. I'm a pretty social person although I like to have some privacy, as does everyone. I'm not too bothered by mess although I know how to keep a place clean and enjoy tidying. I've been living in share housing since January 2017 and make a wonderful housemate, despite my age. :)
I'm moving moving up to Canberra from north-east Victoria after having worked for two years as a journalist. Right now I am most probably in Sri Lanka or the Philippines backpacking. Hoping to move up and find a place to rent at the middle to end of July. I'm really into my sport, especially AFL, and enjoy exercising, Netflix and drinking beers.
I am a person who thrives on being busy! I work 2 part time jobs and study full time. I also occassionally volunteer with disadvantaged kids and like to organise crafternoons with my friends. In between all of that I like to read, sew, knit, draw, go to events around Canberra and every now and then I try to get away and go camping. I have a car so a parking spot is preferred. My ideal sharehouse is a mature group who understand the dynamics of a sharehouse, can commit to clean communal areas and are down to get loose and silly from time to time. Look forward to meeting you!
Hi! I'm a third year ANU student and part-time staffer looking for a sharehouse for when I get back from exchange in July. I'm looking for a friendly and social group of roommates who enjoy having a chat and sharing an occasional meal together, while of course respecting the need for personal space. I'm pretty easygoing, considerate and tidy. I love travel, hiking, the occasional game of tennis and healthy baking. While I'm often quite busy between uni and part-time work, I'm always up to share activities like these when there's time! Move in date flexible :) Feel free to get in touch!
Hi, I’m Jacinda, I'm from Melbourne and have been living and working in Canberra for the past two months and I love it. I’m a professional female working in digital communications in the content space. I work on digital transformation projects. I work full-time. If your room comes partly furnished or empty, that’s ok. I’m flexible for the right place. I’m a nature and animal lover; so if you have pets, plants and an outdoor space, that’s a bonus. Happy to feed animals, water the garden or rake some leaves. I like being outdoors. Socially, I’m an urban dweller and like a great pub dinner, wine bars and a glass of rich, plummy Shiraz or a zesty Sauvignon Blanc; Sunday sleep in’s, café breakfasts, quality coffee and spending time outside. I keep a busy working lifestyle during the week but really enjoy my down time at home too watching Netflix, sharing a meal or catching up with friends. I’m social, have a dry sense of humour and get along with most people. I’ve lived and travelled with lots of different people from all backgrounds and persuasions and have younger and older friends. While I’m independent – I'd prefer not to live with strangers; I love a good conversation from time to time and sharing a space with people who are up for creating a home and a relaxed atmosphere that’s comfortable. I’m clean, house conscious and mindful of other people’s things and their space, so I’m seeking the same. Prefer granny flat or studio, or bedroom in a house with own ensuite or own bathroom. Looking for 6-12 months or longer. Flexible with moving dates with the right place. I don't need a car space and I'm planning on getting a bike. If this is the right fit; let’s chat!
My name is Elinor, I'm a 25 year old gardener looking to rent in Canberra. I am an avid reader, love nature, a foodie and i'm very easy going. I have a cute dog, Reggie. I love taking walks in nature, going to art galleries, seeing live music, going op-shopping, hanging out with friends and my dog, reading, watching films, and so much more!
Hey, I have been living in sharehouses for 4 years so I know the drill. I am tidy, and mostly keep to myself but am always up for a chat/drink. My sister Sarah has been living out of home for about a year and is extremely mature and sensible for her age (17). She's a cool kid who also mostly keeps to herself, does art and is enrolled in a beautician school. we look forward to hearing from you!
We are a young couple from Newcastle and we are moving to Canberra for work at very short notice. We urgently require short-term accommodation until we can get settled in and find our own place. We would like to move in preferably no later than the beginning of June. Our preferred length of stay is around 2-3 months but we can be flexible with this. Elliott (22 y.o.) - Public servant and Clark Kent look-alike; currently working as a research assistant and finishing the last semester of a commerce degree via distance. Michelle (27 y.o.) - Recently completed a B.A. in politics and international relations; moving to Canberra to work and study at ANU. • We are mature, respectful, and clean up after ourselves. • We're sociable and easy to get along with, but we also appreciate having our own space. • We'll be working full-time hours Monday-Friday and studying during nights/weekends, so we're looking for housemates who are quiet and considerate, especially during the evening. (We don't mind sharing with other students as long as it's not a noisy 'party house' type environment). • We're not adverse to hanging out occasionally — it would be nice to know some locals who can show us around the city and recommend things to see/do in Canberra :) • Hoping to find a room that's already furnished because we'll need time to acquire our own furniture. A queen bed would be ideal because all of our sheets, quilts etc. are queen size (and Elliott is probably too tall to sleep on anything smaller). • We'll need parking space (Elliott has a car and I plan to bring mine down from Newcastle in the near future, too). • I'll be relying on public transport for at least a few weeks, so accommodation located reasonably close to public transport is a must. • We would prefer to have our own bathroom/ensuite (if possible) but we're not in a position to be too fussy. • Decent internet/Wi-Fi and heating/cooling is essential.
I am a visiting scholar at ANU. I and my wife are not noisy. Also, we are not smoky and alcoholic.
Good Day! I'm a Canadian exchange student who liked Australia a little too much to go home right when my courses at ANU finish. As a result I found a super fun job at a bar in Canberra I could probably hook you up at .. if not, you'll just be stuck with some fun company who makes some questionable jokes and practices Aussie slang an unreasonable amount. All in all I'm an easy going gal who goes with the flow and adds some extra zest to Canberra. Looking for a short term house share just for the month of July. Shoot me a message if you want to meet, suuuuurely you'll want to.
I'm an Australian male in his mid-30s who moved back to Canberra a few months ago. I have funding for about 2 years to do research, broadly in the area of sustainability, at the ANU. I'm a quiet but friendly guy happy for a chat or a shared dinner but also respectful of others' personal space. Favourite hobbies are outdoor activities (hiking, skiing, climbing, etc.) and dancing (lindy hop and blues). I am vegetarian but OK with meat being cooked in the same house! I've previously sharehoused in Canberra and Germany. The last couple of years I've been living by myself (in Sweden, where sharehouses are not so common) and while it's nice I do miss having people around!
Hi! I'm Roshen from Sri Lanka. I'll be studying at ANU mid-June 2018 onwards and I intend to work on a part-time basis. I have attended few international conferences and have worked with people from different nationalities and cultures, I have been able to move along with them easily. Therefore, I have no trouble in mingling with people from different backgrounds and I am sociable and friendly. I am the sort who won't trouble anyone and prefer helping whenever needed. I value peace of mind and hence, am neat and organized. I love listening to classical music and a fan of swimming.
Hi im Sam, an 18 year old male from Newcastle, NSW. I am looking for housing around the ANU as i will be commencing my studies there in second semester. I am a mature, independent individual and consider myself to have a strong work ethic. I am very easy to get along with as i enjoy my own time but also am always up for a movie or series marathon binge. I love rugby and most sports and am also a huge lord of the rings fan. Overall, i am looking for a house near the ANU with flatmates that are laid back, welcoming and that enjoy doing their own thing.
I’m a 19 year old kid who works full time for Apple in the city. I like to think of myself a chill guy who is into music and almost anything creative. I love meeting new people and getting to know them! I’m an outgoing person but can also respect others boundaries.
Hi, I'm Lily, soon-to-be PhD student at ANU. I'm quiet and clean, like to share a meal or drinks but sometimes don't come home much because I get wrapped up in what I'm doing at university. On the weekends I like walking around and up mountains.
