Hey everyone! We have just moved here from New Zealand and we're looking for a nice and social flat who can have a chat and a few brews ! Preferably not too far from the city! I.e northcote, Brunswick, Brighton, Richmond, south Yarra or any suburb near those! I’m 23 and a kiwi & Helena’s 20 and from Germany. We are both working - myself as a Plumber.
Hello! We are couple here from Canada, looking for a place we can call home for the next 6 - 12 months :) We enjoy keeping active and going to the gym, cooking, going out for coffee, beach bumming and meeting new people!
Hi, So about me first. I am an introvert and mostly keep to myself, though I will still enjoy a communal movie or game night. I spend the majority of my time writing; I hope to garner a career as an author so I can do something better with my life. I have degrees in zoology and palaebiology, so I'm a great encyclopedia when it comes to anything animal-related. In my breaks I typically watch Netflix (I have a VPN, which means that I can access American Netflix), or sometimes play video games (I suck at combat, so generally I just build on Minecraft or Sims, or play games like WoW where you don't have to aim). I really don't care where the accommodation is, as long as there is public transport available so that I can go grocery shopping and get to the Royal Melbourne Hospital for appointments. Ideally the accommodation will have unlimited internet already available and I just pay my share in it each month. I am happy to pay extra each week/month to include utility costs (water, electricity, internet, etc) in the price. I am posting on here because I am hoping to leave an abusive living situation. However, I have two primary issues that make it very difficult to do so. I know the chances of finding a suitable home are low, but why not at least try. Maybe a miracle will happen and I’ll make the perfect flatmate for you! My first issue is that I am disabled. Long story short, I have severe congenital heart disease, so my blood doesn't circulate very well. I can't drive, I can't work, I can't walk or stand up for too long, my toes turn purple, I have trouble breathing, I have seizures, and so on. I live on the disability pension, so don't worry, I can still pay rent and bills and whatnot. But I need accommodation that is close to public transport - and I mean close as in within 500 metres, not ‘close’ as in a 20 minute walk. Access to a bath is also preferable, as they are much easier than showers for me. Also, due to a history of living with abusive people and a home invader, that has left me very nervous of everything that goes bump in the night, I would really like a lock on the bedroom door. My second issue is that I have pets. Specifically, twelve indoor guinea pigs (no I don't breed them! I ran a guinea pig shelter for a couple of years, so they are all rescues). As you can imagine, it is not easy to find affordable accommodation with them, and I have struggled with the reality of potentially rehoming them, but they are the only thing I have left and I just can't do it. I've chosen to stay here rather than give them up. So I need accommodation that is willing to accept them, and has the room somewhere inside to put their cage (around 1x2 m – flexible dimensions as it’s a C&C cage) and store their hay (at least one bale at a time), either in my room or somewhere else in the house. I also need enough bin space to handle their cleaning, which fills a 100 L bin each week.
Hi there! My name is Mallory and I'm from the U.S. I hope to find a home, rather than a house to live in. I would very much like to make friends with the people I'm living with. I certainly value privacy but I would also enjoy communal dinners every once in a while, going to a pub, playing board games, exploring the city, or Netflix binging. I enjoy being social but I'm also introverted, so I definitely need my alone time to recharge as well. I don't mind a bit of clutter but I do mind dirt, so I usually like to keep my home pretty clean. I am looking for housemates with similar values and interests. :) Also, I'm looking for a private, furnished room. And if you have a cat(s), you get bonus points!
I’m a full time BSc honours research student, in my early twenties, starting this year at the University of Melbourne and St Vincent’s hospital. I’ve just recently completed my undergraduate in biomedical science at UQ in Brisbane. I’m fairly experienced in share houses, having lived for the past two years with both genders and people from a variety of cultures. I’m looking for a relaxed and easy going environment to finish my busy year ahead. Always happy for a bit of banter and to socialise; whilst also respecting others privacy.
Hi there you beautiful humans! My name is Ayna (because my parents are hippies and wanted me to be special), a 24 year old backpacker from Belgium. Don't feel bad about not being able te pronounce my name, my grandmother can’t either. Currently staying in Melbourne, looking to settle down for a few months and earn some money (because New-Zealand assaulted my account balance). I’m travelling this year, as you might have guessed, mainly to avoid being a proper grown up in my home country. ANYWAY, I’ll tell you a little more about myself I guess (If you are still reading this), to make sure that you know that I actually have a responsible bone in my body. I graduated as a primary school teacher, love everything art, including music, photography and film, love to hike but refuse to exercise and love to dance. Please do not think I know any of the obscure 80’s bands you listen to, I don’t. (Doesn’t mean I won’t like them though). Please do not expect that my pictures are anything more than mediocre. And please do not think that I can’t do anything because I teach (I do however own a lot of floral prints, sue me). So... what else? I am a smoker, mostly drink responsibly and stay away from the stronger stuff (I have enough vices in my life thank you very much). I think of myself as social, easy going and open to anything that challenges my views and ideas. I get a bit intense at times, but always mean well so I choose to call myself ‘passionate’ instead. I don’t take myself too seriously and love to hang out with people who don’t either. On that note I think I will end the shenanigans, really hope that you’ll still consider me a good fit after reading this 😉.

I love a chilled/respectful house but also one that is fun and sociable. I’m a real foodie and love a drink or two, but I’m also active with fitness, music and keen to explore new things.

Hi, I am looking for a place to live in Melb, will be starting a new fulltime job there. I'm a friendly, yet quiet person. Like my own space but would love to hang out occasionally. I like to keep my place clean and tidy, and happy to help out with chores around the place.
Hi, I'm Matt. I work in hospitality specialising in wine, I have also recently returned to uni to study a bachelor of communications. I am social but like to keep to myself while studying. Always up for a joint dinner with some wine
I'm 20 year old science student at Melbourne uni. I've been living out of home for the past two years (gap year and 1st year uni) in North Melbourne and am looking for a larger house with more housemates and a bit of a reduction in rent! I'm a pretty bubbly guy who loves to get super involved with clubs and societies on campus so I'm always off helping out with camps and trips and stuff! My main hobbies are gaming, photography and cooking but I'm super into giving anything a try and I need to learn to surf because all my German/Canadian friends want lessons when they inevitably end up travelling here! I've got super stable work as a forklift driver part time so I'm super reliable with rent/bills. At the moment I'm working for Frank Walker at National Tiles in Preston (😂), but I'm also currently applying around at toll/amazon etc! As my housemates can attest, I'm a super friendly and laid back person who loves science/politics/music. I'm also really reliably clean/neat as I've been living in a house without a dishwasher for the last couple years and I know how frustrating it can be having a messy kitchen/living spaces! -Dan
I am full time worker (finance), but beside that I enjoy doing different kind of sports (yoga, stretch, acro, aerials) and dance (Zouk). I love to travel, meet new people and go to music festivals. At the same time I am very organised (huge fun of Microsoft Excel) and responsible - trying to be the best version of myself (spirituality, self-development, meditations). Most of my time I spend outside, but it's important for me to have my own clean space where I can rest after the busy day. I am very social and honest person. I come from Poland (speak Polish, English, French). I search for a place where I can have good connection with my flatmates, so we can share sometimes food/wine or watch movies together. I would prefer to live with full time working people, where everyone respects each other space and where we can create something beautiful together. For the last year I've been doing housesittings, which means I was living with different animals, where their owners were away. I love all the animals, but cats are my favorites. By doing house-sittings I learnt that I feel much better in the clean & tidy spaces, which are light and which are not overflowed with things. Believe it or not, but your surrounding has a big impact on your life and actually the way you live says a lot about your personality/mental state. Now it comes the time, when I search for my own space :). I find myself as easy-going person and I need to say I'm pretty excited to find a perfect spot! Would love to live in a house with a garden and common space. PS. I do not smoke cigarettes and I have my own car.
