hello everyone :) My name is Lorenzo, 31 yo, australian with italian background. I am a reserved, quiet and clean guy who is very much used to live in a respectful and cooperative way with others. I work part time as a restaurant supervisor, study and I also work as a musician on weekends. Even though I tend to keep it to myself, I enjoy the social aspect of sharing a flat. I'd like to think of my housemates as potential friends. If you'd like to know more about me just shout me a text and let's have a chat in person!
I am a 3rd year Film and Television student at Deakin. I am a very relaxed person, i am happy to either go out for the night, have a party at home, or just chill and watch Netflix. I love to cook and tidy up after myself. I work a casual job for Typo and do some freelance editing also. I do own a dog, but if the situation doesn't fit he does not have to live with me, he can live with my parents.
Hi! We are a Colombian couple, we came to Melbourne for a year, we are going to study in the city. We are looking for a nice place to stay, we also want to know people to practice our English.
Hello! My name is Scott, I’m looking to live in a friendly house for a shortish period of time (4-5 months likely). I recently graduated from Arts honours and have been working full time in the city for the past few years. I enjoy vegetarian cooking and getting to meet new people! PS: The cat is regrettably not coming with me, so any place with a pet would be a lovely bonus!
Hey guys. I'm currently living in regonal Victoria an am very keen to move to Melbourne ASAP. I have had a job opportunity arise am willing the take the chance to move to Melbourne an start a new life down there! Am very easy too live with, well mannered an very tidy. Please hit me up if you have an available room.
Hi there! We are Emma and John, young(ish) Scottish couple looking for a place to live for approximately 4 or 5 months (at least). The only reason we won't commit to longer than that at the moment is down to the fact that sponsorship might take a while and we might have to go off and do regional work at the end of July/start of August. We are here on a WHV, but aiming for permanent residency. John is a sound technician and I am currently looking for work, I have a human rights degree and experience in events. Ideally I'll be working in the not for profit sector. John usually works long days (sometimes 14 hours +) and occasionally is working away on a big on tours for about 3 weeks at a time! We are looking for either a studio, 1 bed, granny flat or flat/house share - we really aren't too fussy! Trying to save where we can so $350 all in would be max :) We are clean and neat, non-smokers and aren't big party animals. So whilst we are looking for somewhere fun and relaxed, we'd prefer not to live in a party house. We would also prefer something either furnished or part furnished, we do have a some savings so paying for some things won't be an issue, we'd just prefer to save where we can... (visas ain't cheap). Easy access to the city is a must, the ability to decipher a Scottish accent is a bonus! :) Let us know if you need any more info. Thanks
My name is Chau and I’m working full time for an optical company. I’m an easy-going, trustworthy, reliable, respectful and tidy person, who would want the same from a roommate. I like reading, listening to music, shopping and outdoor walk.
I'm originally from Langwarrin but live in Williamstown for Uni. I work in childcare and play in a band. I love sport and the outdoors. Living with people can be intense so I think the main recipe for success is respecting privacy and being clean.
Hi, I am full-time worker and part-time uni student, I am very clean and tidy looking for a clean place. I am non-smoker and pet free, but I love Cat. Happy to move in anytime soon for 3 to 6 months and maybe more if we get along. I enjoy soccer, Gym, occasional drink, I spent most of my time studying when I'm not at work, visit library etc
Hi, I'm Simon. I'm 29, currently studying teaching at Melbourne Uni, and work 2 days a week as an ICT manager in a school. I'm looking to move up because the trek from Geelong has gotten old. I am passionate about science, tech, and learning new things. I enjoy cooking, and sharing the results; I'm also quite handy at repair and fixing computer problems. I'm not a partier, but do enjoy socialising with a good group of friends.
I am a 25 year old professional female who works full time as an early childhood educator. I am an easy going house mate who has lived in a variety of situations, with a range of people over the last 8 years and this has taught me to be patient, flexible and respectful. I am often busy with my own work, study and social life but am always more than happy to get to know who I’m living with and share a meal or a drink when we are both around. I’m neat and tidy and will happily help out in any way I can :)
21, female. I have been living in Sydney all my life, last 2 and a half years living in a share house. I will be moving to Melbourne some time soon, either in the middle of this year or end. I am looking for a place where I can have my own space; either a 1 bedroom place, studio apartment or granny flat. I have my own furniture (so furnished or unfurnished won't be a problem). I am quiet, I tidy up after myself, I pay my rent on time. I avoid using the dryer and do not leave lights on and waste electricity. Non smoker, I do not have pets. My budget is very low at the moment because of my work situation so I can only afford $180 per week. At absolute most, $200 per week (including bills and internet). Due to some health problems with rheumatoid arthritis I will need a place close to public transport and local shops/grocer.
Hi, I'm Leanne. I'm 34, from England. I work full time as a Dental Technician Monday - Friday. I'm very chilled and easy going, clean, tidy and respectful. I don't get up to too much during the week because I work long days. I like a few drinks & to socialise but also like time to myself. I've got a lovely little cat called Frankie who is well behaved and she is house trained. Looking to move around the 10th March but I can be flexible with dates.
Hello, I am originally from London and I am moving to Australia for a year on a working holiday visa on the 10th of February! I am a working professional in London with a full time job as a receptionist and i will be working in hospitality also when i get to Melbourne. My plan is to stay in Melbourne for 6 months to work and meet lots of new people! I love to have fun and have a laugh and I am a positive, happy and friendly person. I love to hang out with friends and be sociable but as a housemate i will also respect peoples space and privacy. I like to keep things tidy and clean and will take on my fair share of housework. I am vegan myself but have absolutely no problem living with people that are not. This is my own decision to live as vegan and i do not try to enforce this on anyone, I respect everyone's choices. Some of my interests are running and exercise, reading, writing, music, meditation and spending time with friends. If it sounds as though we could get on well living together then feel free to message me. I look forward to finding my new housemate(s) in Australia :)
My friend Russell is of the opinion that dating apps are great for finding flatmates and that sharehouse ads are great for finding dates. Tinder's in-house sociologist Dr. Jess Carbino says that the more information a user can share, the better (I should probably cite this reference). With that in mind I’m approaching finding a new home with the desperation of being single for the past five years and have outlined my prospective personal advertisement below. I have followed an OKcupid template because it prompts you with questions. Before you go any further! I would like to be able to have my dog Onion around for at least part of the time. She has doting grandparents in the country and I will likely split my time between the city and Castlemaine so she will not be around constantly. I like some degree of communal living at home and need a garden to potter in. Also preferably cheap, I don’t want to live in a perpetual state of rent stress. My self summary I’m about to start the second year of my Masters in Stage Design at VCA. I am artistic but extremely practical. I like to garden and grow my own food. I have a lot of indoor plants. I make 1:25 scale models for productions and make mini replicas of furniture from my house. I like it very much. I am 34, my birthday is in June, I am 5’ 8” tall, and currently weigh around 60kg. I like the oxford comma. My favourite colour is brown which is the most disliked colour in the world. I have mostly had relationships with women and probably fall under the queer umbrella. I am a vegetarian. My Meyers Briggs type is INTP. My arts practice is participatory and I am interested primarily in a collaborative theatre practice. According to EHarmony, highlighting certain traits gets you more replies. Here are five words men might want to consider putting in their online dating profile: 1. Physically fit (+96% more interaction than daters who did not use this word). I ride a bike for transport and do a lot of building so am reasonably strong. I don’t go to gyms or exercise for pleasure. I do have an active dog so that requires a modicum of energy. 2. Perceptive (+51%) Look I think I’m pretty insightful but my intuition regarding people is usually off. I suck at choosing flatmates and partners and usually wait for people to befriend me. 3. Spontaneous (+45%) I am NOT spontaneous. I need to plan in advance. Unless it is about food. Yes we should quietly cook 9 litres of soup at 11pm. 4. Outgoing (+44%) The definition of this is “friendly and confident” which is deceptive. Yes I am these things but need a lot of incentive to ‘go out’ and do them. 5. Optimistic (+39%) I am optimistic in regards to achieving design outcomes. You want to do that?! Yes lets figure out a way to do it. But I’m a realist. And pessimistic about the human race. 5 words women might want to consider putting in their online dating profile: 1. Ambitious (+48%) Yes, I am ambitious. I think this is one of my defining characteristics. 2. Perceptive (+46%) See above in the men’s section. 3. Sweet (+33%) I can be pretty salty but I will make you dinner or bake coconut cream pie for my classmates for no reason. 4. Hard working (+32%) Yes very. I work myself to the ground. It can be a problem. 5. Thoughtful (+28%) “absorbed in or involving thought” I am developing those ‘eleven’ wrinkles between my eyebrows. But I think they mean “showing consideration for the needs of other people” – see above under Sweet ie Salty. Dr. Jess Carbino (remember her from EHarmony?) also says people’s chances decrease by 15% when they wear glasses. What the hell! Glasses really frame a face. I wear glasses. I'm really good at Finding creative solutions. Caring for plants and animals. Setting expectations of myself too high. I am a good cook and understand flavour profiles unlike my father who constantly tries to substitute parsley for coriander. The first thing people notice about me My hair currently resembles that of Samuel Beckett on a windy day. Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food I tend to only read reference or non-fiction books with the exception of plays. I do not like Shakespeare with the exception of Titus Andronicus because of the difficulty of staging all the bloodshed. I subscribe to the New Yorker but they pile up so fast they are mostly just set dressing at this point. I like to do audio descriptions of the cartoons. I am currently reading a biography of Thornton Wilder. I have cried watching all of these Oscar buzzy films in the last month or so: Call Me By Your Name; I, Tonya; Lady Bird; Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri (I love Francis McDormand but this film should not have won Best Picture at the Golden Globes); Coco. Also two extremely underrated Meryl Streep films: Plenty and Defending Your Life. If you don’t like Meryl Streep I will be very suspicious of you. She can be very restrained, don't get caught up in her more "actorly" roles. Tampopo Bridesmaids Saturday Night Live Levitated Mass, that documentary about the artist Michael Heizer The works of Paolo Sorrentino. I enjoy a wide variety of music. I particularly enjoy classical minimalism and listening to Golden Days Radio 95.7 FM and any station that has love song dedications. The Independent (dubious news source I know) says that listing food on your dating profile results in more replies. They suggest that listing guacamole would result in a 144% increase in respondents. Well guess what? I do like guacamole. I am currently propagating avocado seeds to sow a plantation. It is my little agricultural nest egg. Their second suggestion is potatoes at 101%. This is a bit perplexing. I do quite like potatoes and think they are severely underrated and more varieties should be grown in this country. They are very easy to grow. I suggest a mixture of straw and manure. I had a very bad food poisoning experience after eating at a Michelin Star restaurant in Spain in 2010 so I have an extreme dislike of truffles and truffle oil. I will gag. Again, I am a vegetarian. The six things I could never do without Toothpicks, cordless drill, a pencil (I prefer a 2H or H, who decided HB was the standard?), my dog Onion, an optional hat, and look to be honest probably a stash of pharmaceuticals because I get a lot of headaches. I spend a lot of time thinking about Conversations I should be having out loud. I really do worry a lot. Dramaturgy. Whether my mood will improve if I eat something. On a typical Friday night I am Unfortunately probably staring at a computer. What I am looking for in a partner In an ideal world I’d like to be with someone who wants to make things with me, ie someone in the theatre industry. Directors, actors, engineers? Is that bar too specific and high? Yes. Someone who wants to co-parent my animals. Something long term. You should message me if You want to live with me, you want to date me, you want to offer me a casual retail job, you want to be my friend.
We are a young, vibrant couple that is very excited to move to Melbourne! Eliza is from Perth, Brendan grew up in Bendigo and has lived in Melbourne before. We are both working full time, very tidy and respectable people that are just super easy and chill to live with! Looking forward to meeting you!
My names Trey - Hows it going?! Fully employed single male - KIWI boy. I'm fully house trained and fun to be around. Just ask my mum :) I believe that life is too short for drama so I tend to be drama free. Annoyingly optimistic (not too annoying though). I love a good night in and also a good night out having drinks and laughs. Considerate and mature. I'm well travelled and love to hear peoples interesting stories. I have an active social life but tend to like to keep the hectic lifestyle separate from home. I like to chill, flatmate chats and laughs, dance, music and cook! I fly the rainbow flag and would be the best "token" flatmate you have!!. I have full time job and have started freelancing my makeup talents. Love to sing, chill, eat out and dance. Very chill no drama. Get along with almost everyone. X
I'm looking to move from Adelaide to Melbourne for a little bit of an adventure! I'm a full time health professional, but definitely looking for that work-life balance. I want to use this opportunity to gain personal growth and become more independent. I'm a clean and tidy person and do not like mess! I'm friendly and easygoing and enjoy being social and going out for a bite or a drink so having housemates to join in will be a bonus. Also, I will be looking to lease for about 4 months to start with and then go from there.
*Strictly looking for private room with ensuite bathroom. May consider own bathroom depending on proximity and privacy* Full-time Masters student moving into Melbourne for the first time (I've been here before tho). Easy going, loves socializing and I think I have a pretty unique sense of humor. I have a whole lot of interests but still very open-minded. However, i do value my privacy as well. I totally believe in the live and let live philosophy, I really do not care what you do as long as it does not affect me. That is why I'm looking for a single room with an ensuite bathroom (no exceptions). I like to keep fit as well so having a gym in the building or one nearby is a huge bonus. I also do not mind animals (love them actually), I grew up with pets so rest assured (if you have one). Haven't decided on bringing my car, i do want to so let me know the situation (extra cost and what not). I do realise that melbourne might not be best to own a car. Positives: - Flatshare experienced of around 4 years (never missed a payment) - I do not cook beyond using the microwave sometimes, cleanliness won't be an issue in common areas - Tech savy, will fix internet connections, maybe even recommend on cost lowering, might even make the apartment "high tech" - We will have a good relationship because if we do not I'll probably move out myself, I like to have a positive environment.
