Friendly | Social | APS Grad | Music lover | Neat | Non-smoker | Relocating from Perth in January | 😊 🌍 🍷 🍳 🎶 📷 🎓 Hey there, I’m moving over from Perth in mid-January to take up a grad position with the Department of Education and Training. I’ve lived with over 1000 people (if you count my time at college), so I’m very experienced when it comes to being a great housemate! Since uni, I’ve also lived with a number of housemates, both girls and guys. I’m a big fan of music and I’m an avid Triple j listener. I’m also really into travel, good food, social sport, photography and having a few casual drinks! I’m a good cook, meticulously neat (but not in a crazy way!), a non-smoker and (sadly) I don't own any pets! Ideally, I'd like to live with 1-3 people, preferably with those around a similar age. I’m a very easy-going and accepting person, but if you’re a fan of Pauline Hanson, or if you prefer smooth peanut butter over crunchy, we’re probably not going to get along! Send me a message if you think I’d be a good fit for your existing place, or if you'd like to team up and find a place. I'm also more than happy to put you in contact with my current housemate if you'd like. Cheers, Sam 😊
Hi and welcome to my listing. I am originally an Adelaide girl, with a newfound Canberra spirit. I am interested in living with like-minded individuals... ones that have a love for anything wine and food, participate in life and have mutual respect for the people residing in their house. I am studying occupational therapy and looking for a shared house to call a home during my final placement between 20th Jan - 22nd March. I look forward to meeting potential future housemates. Jessica :)
I am a bubbly 21 year old who was born and bred in Canberra, currently working part time while studying. I am looking to move into another share house/apartment as my lease has with my current housemate. I am a very clean person and enjoy cooking and keeping active as well as being social with friends. I enjoy spending time around Canberra and am keen on being able to make new friends. Although being extremely social I appreciate the need for personal time and space and as someone who both studies and works I also understand the need for me time! I am excited and happy to meet with people who have rooms for rent around the city/central Canberra due to work location :)
Easy going, friendly couple, she's studying full time and working as well and he will be doing a working holiday visa and working full time. We get on with pretty much anyone. She's Vietnamese, he's English, both pretty chilled and respectfull but equally do like a drink. Looking to move before the end of Jan.
I've just finished an arts/law degree at ANU and am looking for somewhere to live when I start full-time work in Canberra next year. I'm an easy-going and respectful housemate who appreciates the occasional housemate hangout (hopefully featuring wine/tea and trashy TV) but also understands the need for personal space and quiet time. I've also been living out of home for the last seven years so I'm totally house-trained - I pay bills on time, clean up after myself and know how to share and respect common spaces.
HI! My name is Marianne, 24, from the Philippines. I'm looking for a place to stay whilst I am having my internship in Acton as a chef for 1 whole year. I'll be coming to Australia either late December or early January. It would be much appreciated if the place is furnished and has a private bath, but I dont mind having a shared bathroom, also my max budget is 250 if possible including bills. I'm quite sociable but ofcourse also prefers time to myself sometimes, I dont mind sharing chores, I would like to live with similar types of people, who also takes the initiative to clean up after themselves. I am very fond of books, music and I also have an interest in makeup artistry. :) I hope to find a great place to stay
I'm University student looking for a room to rent in Canberra over the summer while I am doing an internship. I'm a clean and tidy person, with an easy going attitude. I'm always up to explore new parts of the cities that I am in and try new things! I'm looking for a room ideally from Jan 20th to Feb. Feel free to shoot me a message if you have place available for these dates!
Hey, I'm Karla. I'm a 21 year old law student moving from Melbourne to Canberra. I'm the gal on the right in the picture. I mostly split my time between spending way too much money on quality coffee, going to gigs and trying not to cause permanent damage to my kitchen when I cook. I'm pretty laid-back, clean and I make a mean guac.
Hi there, My name is Anna and I am 22 and moving to Canberra to study at ANU postgrad next year. I am looking for accommodation hopefully within walking or cycling distance of the ANU main campus. I'm pretty easy to live with, and although I study a fair bit I enjoy a social environment- eg. Meals with housemates/ the occasional bev. Would prefer a non smoking household.
I am a Danish exchange student, who will be studying at ANU for 1 semester starting Feb. 14th 2017 in order to finish my BA degree in anthropology. I consider myself openminded and easygoing, fond of travelling and meeting new people. I have been living with different roommates for the past 4 years, and I truly loving living with other people. I also know how important it is to have a lovely living-environment, especially when it comes to balancing between being friends and having fun on the one hand, and respecting privacy and keeping the place clean and a nice place to live on the other.
Law and Health Sciences Grad moving to Canberra from Melbourne to take up a Graduate job. I'm tidy and conscientious, typically quiet but also like to socialise. Want to live with easy-going people in a relaxed environment.
Hey yo! Joel here! I'm originally from Malaysia and am looking for a place for me to settle for at least one year while I get my masters done. I'm studying Masters in International Law in the ANU. I will also be working and studying to be admitted into court. Hence, I will be fairly busy in 2017. In terms of being a flatmate, the thing I value most is cleanliness - I like keeping things tidy and clean, especially the bathroom. I respect privacy and hope to receive the same. Having said that, I am a rather social person. I love the idea of sharing a conversation over a meal, or even perhaps doing something interesting over the weekend. I'm pretty open minded and respect diversity in any form. I may occasionally sing in the shower though, so I guess that is something to be aware of. =)
Hi, I'm Gemma - I’m 29, currently living in Sydney, but moving down to Canberra in January of 2017 to start a Bachelor of Writing at UC. I would love to live in a home that is open minded and friendly ... incidental (or planned!) chats over tea/wine, the odd dinner party, mid-week cook up etc - but also a place where people do their own thing! Home is important to me, and I love doing everything I can to nurture a space. I guess I like doing things that lots of people like doing (!) - reading, movies, music, tea, a bit of yoga, the odd beer in the sun, making chutney, good conversation. I’m relaxed, considerate, clean, and reliable. In an ideal world I would like to move in mid January, but if a great place came up I would be very willing to discuss the possibility of moving/starting to pay rent in early January. As you will notice, I am an outdoor smoker... just wanted to mention that I am (obviously) very considerate of those that don't smoke (I realise it is very rare to smoke these days). My preference is definitely to move into an established sharehouse - largely due to moving interstate. However if a great bunch of people were setting up a house, and the circumstances worked for all, being part of a new home could potentially be discussed... hope to hear from you, very best. Gem
I am a current honours student at the ANU. I am looking to join an existing sharehouse or team up and start a new one. (I'm really flexible with move dates pretty much anytime between now and February would be fine) I play and/or watch just about every sport, and love, relaxing at home binge watching tv shows and movies, having quiet nights in with a few quiet drinks and good company, And having nights out. I am always up for a chat or a few laughs and am almost always happy to cook. During the summer I am often traveling or skiing overseas otherwise I'm home most of the time. You should message me if you are looking for a fun , friendly , tidy, and organised housemate.
24. Work full time in the city. I have been living in shared accommodation for the last ~5years. Respectful of peoples space and privacy. Always keen for a beer or gym sesh. Generally away for a couple of nights a fortnight for work. Keen to be able to walk work. Open to all durations of leases but the longer the better.
Hey, I currently live in Perth and am moving to Canberra for work with APS, would ideally like to find someone who is wanting to share a place together. I enjoy a beer on the weekends, love to watch and play sports, pretty chilled out. Please let me know if you are interested or would like anymore details. Thanks, Anton :)
Heya! My name is Florence (Flo works too), and I'm studying English and film at ANU - decided on after changing my degree three times. I'm a music lover, and a huge plus would be to find somewhere to have a jam every now and then! I want to find somewhere social and relaxed where the housemates are exactly that, mates (but I, like everyone else, need my personal space also). I prefer a bev or two on a sunny afternoon over civic, which I can stand very rarely. I am a keen runner and like to stay fit, eat pretty healthily and like to cook. I am a rather clean gal and would like to live with people of a similar mindset in that regard. P.S. I'm an occasional social smoker, it won't let me tick a box for that. If you wanna know more, ask away!
Hey! I'm 25 working full time and studying part time at UC. I've been approved for two apartments - one on the foreshore and one on Blackall street in Barton and I need to pick one soon - I'm looking to team up with someone. I have all furniture and white goods needed but welcome any furniture you may have. Message me for more info!
Hey guys! I'm 23 years old and have lived in Canberra for one year. I'm currently completing my Masters of National Security at ANU part-time and working full-time as an Associate in a government relations consulting firm. I'm super laid-back, love meeting new people, and am very respectful of privacy and space. I also love going out to dinner, grabbing brunch and having a good time!
Professional looking to start a share house with one or two other people. Prefer 30+ and who are clean, tidy and trustworthy. I travel for work a bit so am not always home. Will be relocating to Canberra in Jan 17. Yes, I am in my 40's (insert sad face here) but I am very sociable and am down to earth and love to be able to have a laugh with my roomies. On the flip side am respectful of needing space and downtime. I stay fairly quiet during the week as I am an early starter for work, but do enjoy a wine and a chat, especially by the end of the week !! Love to cook and am happy to share a meal or go to the local ...
Hi all! My name is Laura, I am a postgraduate student obtaining my Masters in Globalisation at ANU. I am originally from the United States, but am quite familiar with Canberra as this will be my second year of uni. I am looking to move closer to the city as right now I feel I live too far, and my modes of transportation do not get me there and back fast enough. Ideally, a 10-minute bike ride is as far as I would have to go. I am clean, tidy, and friendly. I enjoy cooking, socialising, wine, game nights, and some down time. I am looking for a place to call home ideally with individuals who want to be more than just roommates and enjoy some chats and laughs! Looking to move in end of January/early February. Please contact me for this listing through message as I am out of the country until the new year! Thank you!
Hi! Im Bec, I'm a friendly, outgoing full-time public servant who has lived in Canberra since Jan 2016. I like being outdoors, busy and social, but also enjoy having some down time! Hoping to find housemates who want a social house. Happy to live with one person or a few, eager to live close to the city (north side preferably) and move in asap.
Hi I'm Karina, looking to rent a room in the inner north. I'm a full-time public servant working in media and communications. I'm easygoing, sociable and like to lead a relaxed and healthy lifestyle. Seeking likeminded housemates who are similarly friendly, tidy and responsible.
Hello! I'm a 28 year old male public servant looking for a room long-term in the Inner North. Looking to share with public servants/professionals/postgrads. I'm a friendly, easy-going sort of person who has lived in a couple of different share houses and knows the importance of keeping common areas clean and respecting other people's space. I'm fairly busy and am out and about a fair bit. But I definitely think it's important to get to know the people I'm sharing my home with and I'd be keen to live with people who like to hang out for a meal or a drink sometimes. Looking forward to hearing from you! Lawrence
Hi, I’m really excited to say that I’m finally moving to Canberra to study a MSc of Climate Change at ANU after spending the last 3yrs working as a geologist in Perth. I’ve lived in a lot of share houses over the last 10yrs and I’ve spent the last 2yrs living solo, so I can happily say that I’m independent, open minded and mature. I’d love to live with people who are more friends than strangers, and we can have a laugh, share a meal and a drink now and again, but also don’t mind if I spend some time alone. My interests are pretty broad, ranging from environmentalism and sustainability, to weight training, rugby, running and cycling, to yoga, theatre and the arts. I’m vegan but I’m completely open minded and respectful that everyone lives their life differently. I’m moving to Canberra in February so yeah this is early but I want to start getting organised soon. Look forward to hearing from you :)
I'm a recent graduate (and hopefully a soon-to-be honours student) from ANU. I'm really clean and am keen for to take part in the cleaning roster or anything as such. I can be quite sociable but I also love personal space for some down time. I work part-time in Civic so will have a steady income to pay fortnightly/monthly rent.
i'm a geographer from melbourne starting a phd in sociology at anu. i come with a bike named nimbus. i have no musical ability whatsoever, but i like listening to those who do. i also like films and i'm currently making a documentary of my own. i speak german and mandarin. i enjoy baking, but don't think i'm very good at it. if you've got one, i would love to be involved in a veggie garden!
Hi my name is Michele (Italian for Michael!) and I will be moving to Canberra in January from Melbourne to commence a Graduate Program within the APS. I am an easygoing, friendly, and considerate person who respects privacy. I enjoy chats about politics, science, and global affairs. I enjoy playing sport, especially soccer. Finding a running or swimming partner would be a bonus! I am a Seinfeld and X-Files nerd so I look forward to discussing how George and Scully are two of the best characters in TV. In terms of contributing furniture, I would have a couch/sofa set, tv and some other items if needed. I am looking to live with 1 or 2 housemates if possible, or to also start a teamup for anyone else willing to start a new sharehouse. I am looking to move towards the end of January 2017.
Current landlord has decided to sell their house, so looking for somewhere new to live. I am a 23-year-old Law student at UC; I also work part time. So busy during the semester, but have a tendency always to find the time for a drink and chat. I am hoping to move into a house with good people who enjoy each others company, but at the same time don't live on top of each other.
I like to keep my house clean and uplifting. This also means I'm looking for people with a good sense of the estate, respect, care and humour. Apart from this, I've got a car and an ample amount of living room furniture.
I'm moving up to Canberra from Melbourne to start a graduate position at the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare. Looking for a laid-back, chill but tidy and respectful established household. I am a clean, pretty laid-back individual! I love a good Netflix binge, inviting friends over for dinner and drink or two and engaging in a good discussion about current world affairs. Am into films, festivals and gigs and keen to see how Canberra compares to Melbs. Do enjoy hiking, am trying to get active again and love using my bike for commuting. Let me know if you're interested! PS I actually have no photos of me by myself right now, so that's me with my lovely trekking guide in Vietnam.
Hey my name's Luke and I'm 19, studying Pharmacy full-time at UC and working on the side. I play guitar and skateboard in my spare time also. However my main hobby is my car. Overall I'm a fun-loving, easy-going and hard-working guy and I'm sure I'll be easy to get along with whoever I end up living with. It might be worthwhile to note that I would prefer a place to park my car if possible.
Hey future flatmate! I'm Noora, a 21-year-old girl from Finland. I'm currently looking for a room close to Civic at least for the next six months, probably even longer. I would also be willing to start a share house or flat if you happen to be looking for a place as well. I work quite long hours as a full time chef in a restaurant located in city. Needless to say, I love cooking and good food and this is something to share with my flatmates as well. Outside work I enjoy training aikido, yoga and other exercise, as well as just hanging out at home sometimes. My other big interest is travelling. I would describe myself as a tidy and respectful housemate and fairly relaxed person who enjoys good company and occasionally having a drink with friends. If you'd like to know more about me, feel free to ask and if this sounds like something you 'd like to live with I would love to meet you in person. Cheers, Noora
Hi, I'm Chris, a 22 year old student from Sydney whose moving to Canberra to commence a Bachelor of Nursing. I formerly lived in a 40 person Housing Co-operative in Sydney called Stucco. Stucco has taught me the value of living in communal spaces, so I very interested in finding somewhere that is lively and homely.
Hi! My name is Mandira and I am a psychology student at ANU. I am a sociable person who loves to cook. Please let me know in case you have a place that I can rent or if you want to collaborate and find an amazing place. :)
I have recently accepted an offer to work full-time for the Department of Veterans' Affairs as an ICT Graduate, and am looking for accommodation starting in early January. I am moving to Canberra from Brisbane on the 7th of January, though I am flexible, and more than happy to join a lease prior. I am twenty one years of age, and have recently completed my undergraduate Bachelor of Information Technology, with a major in Software Development, from Griffith University. I am an easy-going, considerate and sociable person, and am a strong believer in cleanliness. I have a passion for travelling and enjoy playing computer games in my free time.
I am a pharmacist moving soon to Canberra.I am quiet and clean.I like outdoors activity, gym and cycling.I like to eat healthy food.I like very much watching good films.I want to explore Canberra more.I want to have more friends in this beautiful city.
I have just secured a role in Canberra, as I live in Melbourne at the moment I will require living arrangements in early January 2017. I work in the Occupational health sector. I have been informed that I will be in Canberra on the 19th of December approx. to do a handover with my predecessor for several days before they finish up. I was hoping to have a look at a few properties during this time. Call me to discuss further. Thanks
I am a Canadian chemistry undergraduate student from Ottawa U who will be working in a lab at ANU for six months, starting January. I'm clean, I love cooking and sharing meals, and I want to live with some people who want to show off Australia. I like to run, weightlift, have a beer, and jam out to some great music.
Hey! I'm Astrid. I'm moving to Canberra from Brisbane in early January to start working full-time in Parliament House. I've just completed my university degree, studying IT, and am super keen to pursue this new opportunity. Don't let that little '20' next to my name fool you, I think the fact that I'm moving to Canberra for work at my age should say enough about the kind of person I am. I'm a hard worker, though I'm also up for a few casual drinks or meals after work, but I am by no means the partying and clubbing type. I'm really looking forward to having more time to get out and about and exercise, so if you're into rock climbing, road tripping, kayaking, bike riding or whatever else then that's great! I'll be heading down to Canberra on the 3rd of January, but I've generously been given 3 weeks temporary accommodation by my department, so I'm sorted for somewhere to live until the 24th. However, I would really like to spend that time searching for a new place to call home, and would love to come and check out any places or catch up for a couple drinks to meet any new potential housemates. I'm not particular on the length of time, but I'm not looking for short-term accommodation. 4 to 12 months + would be great!
Hey stranger :) I'm an almost 20 yr old student at ANU, currently studying a double degree in Arts/Science after transferring from UniMelb, majoring in Political Science, Economics and Mathematical Economics, and minoring in Applied Statistics (maybe: not quite sure what I'm doing with myself atm :/.) I also work casually in service, so my job, uni work and extra-curriculars keep me pretty active. Looking for a place to move into close to campus, shops etc. for convenience. Have been living away from home self-catered for 3-ish years now, so I'm pretty familiar with this gig. I'm pretty chill and absolutely respect personal space, property etc., so beyond being a bit fussy with cleaning and noise, I reckon I'm pretty easy to live with. I'm interested in almost anything and everything: tennis, rock-climbing, filmmaking, movies, games, photography, music, tech stuff, so I'm a bit all over the place. Needa move by the 31st of Dec at the very latest (possibly later but kinda rough on my end), so if you've got something that works hmu :)
Hey ! I'm French and I'm moving to Canberra for an internship beginning of January. I have been studying in Sydney for a year. I like traveling, hiking, politics, contemporary art, cycling, good food and drinks with friends. I am a clean and respectful flatmate. I would like to find a flat where everyone can have his private space but also sometimes where we can have dinner or casual drinks ! Looking for a flat with a good atmosphere. See you !
Hi future housemates! I am Clare. I’m on an early search-and-secure mission to find a new comfy place to live from late January 2017. About Your Place. It must be warm in Winter! (I really feel the cold!) Otherwise I am quite flexible re; house/unit/etc. I would prefer somewhere with nearby access to ACTION buses and within approx 30mins to Uni Canberra (although I am willing to consider most areas ie; Woden). Over the years I have shared with different genders, a variety of age groups, people from other countries and employed/students, so I know the Etiquette of house-sharing arrangements with a diversity of people. I would enjoy the occasional ‘group’ meal, chatting with other tenants or being independent depending on the vibe in the property. What I Will Bring. I am seeking a reasonable sized room to place a full set of queen size bedroom furniture. I will also bring with me general furniture which I am happy for other housemates to use. (If you have a lock-up shed to place unwanted furniture, that would be ok too.) I also have a lot of great quality kitchen appliances too as I like to cook and bake. About Me. I am a Transgender female and have a 'youthful' personality for my age! Although I like to socialise, I am generally quiet at home. I am a tidy person who cleans up after themselves and is respectful of other tenant's privacy. Sports-wise, I like Bikram Yoga, Badminton and Swimming. I'll be studying a Bachelor of Health Sciences at the University of Canberra next year. There is the possibility that I may work fulltime and study part-time if the perfect job falls my way over the next few months. At this stage, I will need to move into a new place from 21st or 28th January. I should be back in Canberra from approx 14th Jan for inspections, etc. Contact me if you have any questions ...
I am a phd student of philosophy and arrived to Canberra one year ago from Mexico. I am very easy going and social so I am looking for a place that feels more like a family than just shared house. Having meals together and hanging out is more important than anything else. Hope to met you soon!
I'm an incoming PhD student at UNSW Canberra. I'm moving from Chicago, so I don't know anyone (although I have friends in Sydney). I'm very social and will probably want to throw small get-togethers every now and then. Very good about chores and dishes and whatnot. Tidy enough without being a neat freak. I'm a pretty decent cook and I'm enthusiastic about sharing my food. I'm ok with pets but I don't mind a non-pets place.
I'm a third-year ANU student. I love great chats but also personal space. I'm really tidy and am keen for to take part in the cleaning roster or anything like that. I'm a department officer at the ANU Students Association so will have a steady income to pay fortnightly/monthly rent.
I am a Graphic Design student in my final semester. I have lived in student accommodation for 3 years so I know how to live with people. I will spend most of my time at work, at uni or on Netflix.
Hi im a young professional whos relocated from Sydney, currently working in the city (Civic). Outdoorsy person who's also abit of a geek. Hands on. I'm really easygoing, I cant stress enough the easygoing bit. Tidy and accommodating.
I am a young professional. I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I do a lot of exercise in my free time and I enjoy listening to music. I am accommodating and relaxed. I keep the house tidy. Every few weeks I will bring a group of friends around for a taco and board game night.
I have just accepted my offer into the Master of Economics at ANU, and am looking for accommodation around uni. I am currently scheduling the move to Canberra for the first week of February, but am flexible if you would prefer earlier/ later. A bit about me: I am 23, and completed my undergrad in 2015 from the University of Sydney, majoring in Political Economy and International Relations. I grew up in Pakistan, and moved to Australia in 2011. I am half Australian and half Pakistani (have passports from both countries). I have been sharing with my housemates in Sydney since March last year, and have grown to love them very much. I know when to keep to myself, but also like being able to come home and share the occasional dinner/drinks. I clean up after myself always, and contribute to the household regularly. I am easy going, and will be working part time and studying the rest of the time.
Hi everyone! We are a couple making our way down to Canberra to find a place we can call home! At the moment we both live on the Gold Coast and have just graduated university and been offered jobs down the capital! We are a very easy going couple, 34 & 27 yrs old who enjoy the outdoor life but also a night at home watching Netflix. We both will be working full-time in our new professions and planning to spend the weekends outdoors! We are looking for a room to rent for approx 3-6 months while getting comfortable in the new city. Most suitable would be a ensuite (but our own bathroom would be just fine). We will be arriving in Canberra around the 8th of January and hoping we could move in straight away :) If you want to live with a very easy going couple don´t hesitate to contact us! Send me an email Hope to hear from you soon!
From day-to-day, I love to cook, be healthy, practice yoga, go for runs, watch movies, read, and listen to music. Less day-to-day, I enjoy travelling abroad and road-tripping at home. I'm from Canberra, but have lived in the USA as a dual citizen; currently studying human rights and development studies at the ANU while working on the side. Also passionate about the environment and responsible consumerism.
I am a clean, friendly and relaxed housemate. I've been living in sharehouses for four years so I'm fairly used to it too! I'm a 23 year old public servant who moved to Canberra earlier this year from Melbourne, though I'm originally from Perth. In terms of hobbies, I enjoy reading, baking, binge watching Gilmore Girls, hiking, and photography.
Hey there, I'm a 22 year old professional male who's moving to Canberra from Sydney in mid January. I'm laid back, tidy and a decent cook and I'm fairly active and I don't mind socialising over a drink or a meal, but I'll respect your privacy. I'm looking for a medium to long term place that's farily close to Civic. Cheers, Mithun
Dearest future flatmates, I'm moving to the nation's capital for work (journo) and am keen to bunker down with some like-minded souls. Ideally, I'm looking for a sharehouse full of young professionals who work hard, but still enjoy a Friday knockoff/midweek red. I’m a Brisvegas boy originally but have spent my post uni years working in Victoria. I'm 25, enjoy a decent movie, page-turner or chingwag, but my first love is sport and getting outdoors (keen snowboarder). I've been lucky enough to do more than my fair share of travel and tend to spend my annual leave exploring somewhere new. I only know one person in Canberra so am keen to meet some new people from all walks of life and will likely play some social sport. What can I bring to the house? - I've lived in sharehouses in Australia and overseas since I was 18 and understand what makes for good vibes and when people need their space. - I make a pretty deadly chicken-bacon carbonara and prefer house cookups over solo couch meals, but appreciate the latter has its place. - On rare occasions I have been known to provide that tricky trivia night answer after pulling out some random (albeit mostly useless) fact. - I can be talked into trying most things, especially new food or checking out gigs of up-and-coming musicians/comedians. Don't hesitate to shoot me questions or hit up any past/present people I've shared a roof with. Cheers potential roomies, ET
