I will be relocating to Canberra for a Grad Program in early Feb and keen to meet new people and explore the area. I'm friendly, easy-going, love getting outdoors and staying active, and enjoy both quiet nights in and casual nights out in equal measure! I like to keep my living areas clean and tidy, enjoy spending time in the kitchen and relaxing in the evenings. I'm always keen for after work chats over a glass of wine and hanging out, but also enjoy my own space and respect that of other people's. Ideally I'm looking for a flatmate in their mid- to late-20s who shares similar interests and will also be working full-time. I would really like to get into riding a bike to work, so inner city areas would be ideal.
Hi there future flatmates! I'm Minglang, a mature ANU Linguistics student (love languages(!)). I am friendly, open-minded, respectful, the qualities which make my life nice. I love to keep my place clean and tidy, enjoy reading, writing, music, movies, and of course cooking (western or eastern, depends on my moods)~ But don't worry, no scary smokes or hassles involved so your kitchen will always remain clean. I am currently involved in an online subtitling team of translating Jordan B Peterson's lectures to Mandarin. So you know why I am keen to keep my room tidy because "I would not criticize the world before cleaning up my room ":)) I love playing badminton. And my Taekwon-Do course will begin soon(!) I am quite sociable and would love to have a chitchat with you in off time. The gender of the future flatmates really does not matter too much for me as long as you are a good and responsible person because I am...haha. Sorry but I prefer not to live with cats or kids. I don't smoke and have no pets with me. Not a party animal. Flexible with my length of stay:) Cheers
Hey! I’m Emma, I’m 28 and work in hospo. I’m outgoing, easy to talk to and have my head screwed on. I enjoy live music, finding new pubs and restaurants and exploring cbr as I’m still fairly new here! I’ve lived in share housing and also by myself for the last 10 years so pretty capable of looking after myself and where I live. Ideally I’m looking for someone to team up with who has consistent work and similar interests to build a comfortable and chill place to call home.
Hi, my name is Kao. You can call me Caren. I'm original from Thailand but also lived and studied in Melbourne for 6 years. I'll move to Canberra for work as an Engineering. I work full-time on weekdays and sometime I need to work on weekend. The time to leave home and come back are fixable depend on I work in office or I need to go through site-visual for inspection. I'm quiet, respect toword to other people, clean and tidy person. I love gym, beach and enjoy my own time when I'm free. But I don't mind to chill out and chat sometime. Also, I'm not smoker and party animal type. The idea room that I looking for are large room with ensuite bathroom. And the address should be close to my office if possible or 10 mins drive by car or take public transport maximum 30 mins. My office address is 121 Markus Clarke Street, Canberra CBD. Please message me if you'd like to team up or if you have a room available. P.S. I never been Canberra once yet but I will fly there on 22 January to look around and inspection room for living.
Hi! I just completed university in NSW and will be moving to Canberra for my first full-time job - Intern in Canberra and Calvary hospitals. I've only been to Canberra once and am not too familiar with which suburb to live in - wouldn't mind driving 10-20mins to work. I've lived in university on-campus accommodation and shared house with ensuite bathroom in the past. I am hoping to find a quiet, clean and tidy place with respectful housemates (preferably females). I would be keen for occasional housemate(s) gathering, if I'm not too tired from work. I enjoy exploring new places, going to cafes, and exercising (but sometimes I do get lazy). Looking for places which are flexible with length of stay - I'd definitely prefer not to move around too often, but wanna make sure I really like the place before committing long term. Thanks
Hi, I'm Dan. I'm a 27 year old sports biomechanist moving over to Canberra from Perth to work at the AIS at the start of February. I've spent the last 10 years at uni, so I'm looking forward to the new challenge. Given I'm moving across the country, I'm looking for a furnished room (preferably not a single bed). The location of any potential house doesn't really bother me, as long as it's in Canberra. I'd be after a housemate or housemates that are easy to get along with and share a space with. Unsurprisingly (given my profession) I am a bit of sport nut. I also love music, food, and the odd drink. I’m easy going and happy to socialise but am also fine with keeping my own company. I’m clean and tidy and definitely don’t mind helping out with housework when it’s needed.
Hi everyone, we’re a couple and we call ourselves Slozzie :). Adriana is 34, originally from Slovakia, Luke is 30 and Australian. We have returned from our overseas hiking trip (5 months on the Pacific Crest Trail), got back into the work force and the final step is finding a place to call home (12 months+). As mentioned we love spending time outdoors and Canberra is the right place to do so. Cycling, hiking, camping, river swimming ... you name it. We’re pretty friendly and tidy people, like to cook meals but also enjoy cafe breakfast. Don’t mind to watch a movie, chat to housemates or play a board game (current favourite is Phase 10). If you think we’d be a match please let us know and we’ll come to say hello and see your place. Thank you A+L
Hi future roomie/s! We are needing a place to move into for a job I start in February. We would be looking to move in around the 25th of January or after (we can be flexible :) ) We ideally need to live fairly close to Civic (inner north or Kingston/Barton area) and we're looking for a friendly and relaxed home where the a few vinos can be enjoyed on the weekend. We also would most likely need a parking space. I (Erin) am starting a full time contract in February and am moving from the Gold Coast but I have lived in Canberra before. Ryan is American but has been living in Australia for a year and a half. We're clean and tidy, world travelled, respectful and all round good people. You'll love us! If you have any questions, ask away! Can't wait to hear from you :)
Hi everyone! We're coming over to Canberra for six months because I (Caitlin) will be working as an intern at the Dutch Embassy! As we'd like a bed to sleep in, we were hoping someone could help us out! I'm 23yo, half Dutch half British, so I can teach you some useless Dutch words or enjoy some beers after work! I'd say I'm very easy going and I love meeting new people. Matt is 25yo, teaches English and works in hospitality. Let me know if you have any info for us! X
Hi, I'm a Danish exchange student arriving in Canberra for a semesters study at ANU from February to June 2019, and I'm therefore looking for a place to stay. I'm preferably looking for a flatshare/homeshare with a private room, kitchen and laundry facilities, as well as within walking or biking distance from ANU or with nearby public transportation to the university. About me: I'm from Copenhagen, Denmark, where I study a Master's degree in English Studies with a minor in Biology. I'm a quiet person with a terrible sense of humor. My friends think I'm pretty funny, but I think that's an understatement - I'm super hilarious in my own opinion! (I will laugh at my own jokes, even if no one else does...) I like the outdoors, but I certainly also like sitting with a book on a café, a beer in a garden with friends, or just chilling with a movie at home - perhaps you have heard of Danish "Hygge", which probably sums me up pretty good :-) I'm not really a "party person", so don't worry about noisy house parties. I don't smoke and I don't mind dogs or cats.
Part of the 2019 Graduate cohort for APS. I am quiet and clean, and on weekends am usually down to play board games, socialise or catch up on the latest shows. Lived with housemates before when studying at uni. Ideally looking for a place where I can park my car, even if its either on/off street.
Hey, this is Yasmina. I am able to move in now ( moving time is negotiable and prefer to stay minimum 6 months or more). I am pretty easy going, and working part-time as an educator in child care centres. I am currently preparing for an exam, and I will work as a full-time educator after I got my exam done. Also, I'm diligent with housework, always clean up the messy and keep common aeras clean and tidy. .I'm always down for housemate hangs, like hiking, jogging and visting galleries etc. I respect other people's space and need for alone time, and value other people's work. If you have a good location place pls contact me coz I dont drive.--msg me with your address if you could, I need to check on the google map and decide to take from there or not. ( prefer Belc, Tuener, Braddon, Bruce ect, as long as it close to any 300 routes buses.) BTW, the rent is negotiable, it depends on your place and room conditions. Also, happy to teamup with nice and great person, contact me ! Cheers!
Hey, I'm Kat :) I'm 33 and am relocating to Canberra from Brisbane for work in early to mid-February so am looking for a room (preferably with own bathroom and undercover/off street parking) within fairly easy walking or riding distance to the city. Good public transport nearby would be a plus, too. I’ve been told the inner north or around Kingston would be a good fit. I’ll be arriving in Canberra the weekend of Feb 9th, and looking to find somewhere within the following couple of weeks. I don't have a have a lot of stuff (mostly just bedroom things), so if you're pretty well set up and just have an unfurnished bedroom, then that would be ideal! I'd prefer to share with just one or two others and I'm not too fussed about your age or gender, but I'm keen for a quiet and relaxed home life. I think I'm a pretty decent housemate - I won't use up all the hot water, am energy-conscious, will drive you to/collect you from the airport, and I like things clean and tidy (doing other people’s dishes is my love language). I've never paid a bill late in my life, and will treat your space and things with respect. I’m a pretty early riser and do the normal work and gym thing during the week. I enjoy the outdoors, and will be looking to get involved with some kind of social sport (currently playing mixed touch, fairly poorly but with great enthusiasm, in Brissie). Personality-wise, I am an introvert and do need space and quiet to recharge. This doesn't mean I'm a room hermit, but rather that I am a pro at companionable silence and would prefer to have our home be a sanctuary, with most socialising happening elsewhere. That said, I am friendly, and more than happy to lend an ear if you want to unload about something or just crave a chat, and I'd like it if we did stuff together sometimes (hit the movies, have a drink, watch TV, go on a hike, whatever). Basically, I think it’s important we like one another! I'm left-leaning, open-minded and non-judgemental, and I come equipped with a sarcastic sense of humour. I'm interested in science (I have a degree in Geology), and being annoyed about politics and the state of the environment/humanity in general but also not doing a lot about it. I also enjoy art (though I know nothing about it), am getting back into reading (after having the love of it bludgeoned out of me by the aforementioned degree), adore people watching, philosophical thought experiments (okay, probs only one of these, but still), music, and keeping fit. If I sound like I might be your kind of people, hit me up and let's see if we mesh :)
Hello, I am currently studying at both ANU and UC, and work at UC as a lab assistant. I'm pretty quiet and tidy. For fun, I usually play video games or browse the internet. I'm preferably looking for a place that has some space, as I'm moving out of student accommodation (which is tiny).
Hi I'm Lucinda. I'm easy going, keep quite busy and active, enjoy wine, trashy TV and the outdoors. Partial to a boozey dinner with good food as I enjoy cooking. I'm looking for a place in the inner north or south with like minded people.
I’ve just finished my Bachelor of Nursing degree at University and have secured a full-time position at The Canberra Hospital. Ideally, I’m looking for somewhere quite close to Woden for this reason. I am due to start in April so would be wanting to move in around mid March. I’ve lived at home during the time I’ve been at University so this will be the first time I have lived out of home. I don’t smoke, and am clean and tidy. I have respect for other people as well as other people’s things. ☺️
Hey ! I'm Jess, working full time with the APS (surprise surprise in Canberra!!). I've been here for about 6 months and looking for a 'team up' to find a place that feels more like home. Originally from Orange, NSW. I'm a social potential flatmate for you, looking to make great friends with my housemates - maybe with a cheeky bev, netflix, dinner or Canberra adventures! Of course, like everyone I'm happy to spend downtime chilling as well :) In my spare time, I love photography, playing tennis, sunsets and getting out and about. Very flexible with the move date and easygoing with the property preferences. Hit me up with any questions! I'm looking forward to getting to know you :)
Working in Canberra for 4-6 weeks from the Gold Coast. Very easy going, tidyand social. Like to cook, go to gym and also enjoy getting out and about but work will taking up majority of my stay. Doing 12 hour days and also working saturdays so pretty much just after a place to sleep and base myself
Heya! My name is Yael, but friends call me Elle, I’m a 27 year old graduate and currently working in optics. I’m in and out of house regularly between work, frisbee, futsal and spending time with friends and family. I’m a social girl and would love to join a sharehouse that enjoys spending time together, although you’ll often catch me curled up with a book in my room. I cook up a mean lasagne and come equipt with Netflix. I do a have a fair share of funrniture to offer the household but also have a generous dad living in town who is happy to store things if the house is already set up. Happy to give more details- just ask! Looking forward to meeting new housemates.
Hi, I'm Nancy and I'll be moving to Canberra (from Sydney) in Feb to study Honours at ADFA - looking for a room in the inner North or South Canberra. I've got sharehouse experience and good rental history. I'm fairly introverted and respect housemates' privacy, but as I'll be new to the city I'm quite keen to socialise and have a chat and share meals and a drink when we're all free. I'm excited to explore walks and hikes around Canberra, and hoping to improve my cooking and baking skills. I'm tidy, a non-smoker and don't have pets (but more than happy to share with pets!).
Hi! I'm Avinash ! I'm moving to Canberra from India to start a new full time job from February 1st. I'm friendly, easy-going and always happy to help out. I like keeping where I live neat and tidy, enjoy cooking, getting active outside. I won't be home much during working hours or the occasional weekends. I'm always keen for a chat and to hang out but also like enjoying my own space and respect that of other people's. As I'm completely new to Canberra, I'm keen see what it has to offer and moving in with people interested to explore with me or help me settle in would be amazing! Please feel free to shoot me a message if you're interested!
