My name is Rhiannon and I will be travelling from British Columbia, Canada to Canberra at the end of August to work at ANU as a postdoctoral researcher. I just finished my PhD in Microbiology at UBC, so I am looking forward to this working holiday. Ideally I am looking for a place within walking distance to ANU. This will be my first time visiting Australia so I am hoping to find roommates who are also interested in exploring the city and seeing other parts of the country!
I am moving to Canberra to pursue my PhD in Astrophysics at ANU. I am an Indian citizen. I am fairly flexible and easygoing. I have lived in a hostel in India for 4 years before I spent my last year traveling the world for different projects. I have lived for 3 months in Boston (US) and Canberra and then I spent the last few months working on a project in England. I have lived with different kinds of people from different backgrounds and countries (male students, female students, female professionals and families with kids) and all my stays have been really wonderful. I am very passionate about science and research. I am equally involved in social and outreach activities wherever I have lived. Ping me if you would like to talk to me. References available on request!
I’m Indy who’s been in Canberra nearly 6 year I’m a construction worker background from Sri Lanka. I follow the cricket,Rugby & Iike for the good company, shares the life experience & have a 🍺 Hope to share the accommodation with friendly people.
Ayden and I are both active individuals who enjoy our downtime when at home. We're both road cyclists and train 15-20 hours per week & are often away racing. Other than cycling, I'm doing my Masters in Architecture at the University of Canberra. Ayden is super easy going and can get along with just about anyone. He spends a lot of the year traveling with races. Looking for a tidy place where we can feel at home.
Clean, easygoing and caring would be the easiest words to describe myself. Although I could consider myself mainly an introvert, I enjoy talking to people and meeting new friends. I’m studying a Bachelor of IT and I am actively looking for work in the industry, while driving Uber as my source of income currently. With nearly 5000 trips completed, my Uber rating is at 4.95 which can be used as a character reference but it also means my future housemates will have a free lift when available. I have previously lived in sharehouses and am an active member of the household, happily doing my share, or more of the chores and enjoy a clean household. I am able to provide previous rental references including from my most recent landlords. I am quite progressive in terms of my social and political views and keep an open mind in what people believe in. I don’t judge and always happy to help out in any way I can. Unfortunately I am a dirty smoker but I only smoke outside and try to keep my habit out of the way. I am bilingual, with Russian and English as my main languages, having been born in Russia but migrating to Australia when I was still a child. Looking for a place to stay for at least 6 months, most likely longer. I am looking for room which would fit at least my king size bed/mattress and hopefully a built in wardrobe. Own bathroom/toilet would be great but not essential. Space for my car would also be essential but I don’t mind if if it’s uncovered or on grass, just somewhere I could park without fear of parking fines/annoyed neighbours. Hope to hear from you soon.
Hey! Recently moved from Sydney (Bondi Beach) to study full time, I'm pretty chill about practically everything with the exception of the kitchen of which I'm a strange neat freak. I work at Bunnings part-time and spend the rest of it at uni studying software engineering. With my free time, I play footy on the weekends and mess around with tech in between. I'm quite a social butterfly which means I'm always keen for a chat or hosting/joining gatherings but I'm always considerate of others in the house. Pretty much won't ignore a message so hit me up if this sounds like yah!
Couple looking for a room near City Centre or surrounding suburbs - north or south side from anytime in August for a 6 month period. We are worldly, no dramas, easy to get on with type of people who are clean and tidy and happy to help out with housework. Definitely up for being social / hanging out / chewing the fat (aka dribbling shit) with coffee, big people drinks, meals, movies, tv sports, exercise and gym but happy to retreat into our own space and will be heading away a lot on weekends exploring. Both of us are employed. We will need a secure space for a motorbike.
I’m a 21 year old who works full time at a hotel and owns a gorgeous dog by the name of Laila, who loves a cuddle and a run. She is good with other dogs once she gets to know them. Looking to move out of my parents place as they live on a farm 45 minutes out of town. Am easy going and love food, movies, going to the gym or for a drink if I’m feeling lazy. Happy to keep to myself or spend time with people.
We are a friendly and clean couple who both work full time (Jonas as a mechanic and myself as a consultant). When we're not working we’re at sport or uni, but also enjoy relaxing and finding new places to eat and drink. We're originally from the South Coast so often go home to visit on weekends. We’re looking to move from our current accommodation soon but are flexible with dates.
I'm a recent graduate moving to Canberra from Adelaide to start a job with the APS. I love languages (I speak Dutch and Japanese), music, and indoor plants. In my spare time, you'll find me reading, gardening, watching Netflix, or tending to my love of indoor plants. I enjoy my own space and respect others, but am also impartial to a glass of wine and a cheese board at the end of the day. I've lived in share houses before, so I get how it all works. Let me know if you think I'd be a good fit! Looking forward to hearing from you.
I work as a user experience designer in the public service. I've been living in Canberra for a year and a half. I'm easy going and friendly, like to have a chat and socialise with my roommates but I also enjoy my quiet time and I respect people's privacy and space. Ideally looking to stay in Civic, or close to it. My hobbies include photography, sketching, painting and hand lettering. During the week I'm busy with work and study and during weekends I enjoy going out, spending time with friends and exploring new places in Canberra. If you have any questions, get in touch! Camila
Work in a big 4 consulting form in risk management. Have been living in Canberra for 5 months originally from Melbourne. Have loved the hiking and nature here in Canberra and looking forward to exploring more! Am an easy going person that likes to keep busy.
Hi prospective housemates, I work full time and spend most of nights at gym lifting (heavy) stuff ( at least to me) with occasional carido sessions 😂 I'm easy going, happy for a chat also know how to respect others privacy. Like to keep things organised clean and tidy. Preferred location would be Bruce, Belconnen, Lawson, Macquarie ( only those new townhouse/units), and then will consider Franklin, Watson, lyneham, etc... Hit me up if you have something available Thanks !
Hi! I'm from India and have a Bachelors' Degree in Architecture. July 2018 i begin with my Masters' Degree at the ANU. Love travelling / exploring and have many tales to tell from the various journeys I've had. Am highly adaptable and quick at socialising. Also, I'm extremely meticulous in everything I do and very particular about cleanliness.
My name is Greg, I'm a full time student returning from studying my master's degree in Sweden, and will be completing my degree here in Australia. I will be working most of the time, so will not be around the house for vast amounts of time. Although, I do enjoy cooking, having a chat and catching up over a drink sometimes. I have lived in quite some places in the past, so generally feel comfortable living with most people that I meet. Looking for a similar housemate to live with, enjoy to hang out but also give plenty of space, and down for a good chat every now and again. I am returning from Europe on the 2nd of August, so will need to have some conversations by Skype of FB message if you would like to do a better interview. And of course, more than happy to start paying for the right place before I return.
I am a professional working in the city looking for a studio or room with ensuite/ own bathroom in Civic or closeby suburbs. An ambivert, mostly keep to myself but wouldn't mind a drink or hanging out. Like to keep the place tidy and respect privacy. Into football, metal, anime and gaming.
I am a clean, tidy and responsible person. I keep myself busy with work or playing sports in my free time. Always up for a chat but understand personal space. I work full time as Sales Manager for a local retail company, I am expecting my wife to be over here in the couple months, so a single master or double bedroom separate accommodation with a decent lease will be ideal.
I'm a 20-something just about to commence studying at ANU, working towards a masters' degree. I'm a happy, social guy, who also values my and others privacy and having a space to withdraw to to think and work. If something needs doing or an extra pair of hands could help make light work of a task (meals, gardening, putting together infuriating flat pack furniture, et al.) I'm always happy to lend a hand. ✔ Well traveled and conscientious ✔ Bilingual (EN, IT) and working on my third ✔ Non-smoker ✔ Tidy, clean, and a solid work ethic ✔ Genuine and upfront in all interactions
I’m a 23yo who has recently moved from Perth and am working full time at the UNSW ADFA campus and studying part-time online. I prefer my space at times, especially when I have to bunker-down for assessment season, but I value a good D&M and meeting new people. I love all things sport and am an avid touch rugby and bouldering fanatic (unfortunately injured at the moment though), I appreciate a good wine every once in a while (almost as much as I love a terrible pun and top notch level 10 meme), and will go out of my way to pat a dog I see out in public. If that's not enough to love me, then I would probably bribe via baked goods (I have people who can vouch for my homemade cookies and 11/10 banana bread) and inability to portion control when making pasta for 1 (aka. "accidentally cooked for 10 people"). I naturally keep things tidy and always put things back where they belong as I love to keep my environment looking aesthetically pleasing and neat.
