I'm a German biology PhD student coming to Canberra in March for a 12 months research stay at the ANU. I'm looking for flatmates who aren't just sharing the house to keep the rent low. I also like having meals or tea/wine/beer with my flatmates once in a while. I've been in shared flats for nearly ten years now, so I know how to keep common areas clean and I respect when people need some time on their own. In my free time, I like learning languages, playing board and card games with friends, going to concerts and being out in nature/hiking. I'll have to leave my band in Berlin, so I'm excited to see which new hobby I might pick up in Canberra.
I keep to myself, but have a lovely personality and am easy to talk too. I am always motivated and respect your privacy. At the same time i'm always happy to lend a hand or an ear. I work two jobs. 1 based full time as a desktop technician, the other on weekends, so you won't usually see me.
Hi everyone, I am a new grauate podiatrist who recently gained employment in Braddon. I live an active and outgoing lifestyle, i enjoy weekend adventures and traveling further abroad. I come from a farm on the far south coast of NSW. I am a tidy individual that respects not only my own space and property but also that of other. I enjoy cooking, taking on new experiences and getting the opportinuty to meet new people. I am looking for a tidy share house that enjoys a communial enviroment but is also willing to respect personal space. I would preferrably like a loctaion close to my new workplace.
Hi, I am a professional in full time work. I am clean and tidy, especially in common areas and respectful of peoples space. But I also am happy to socialise with a glass of wine. I have only recently got my position in Canberra, so hoping to move closer to work.
I’m Jack! I’m 20 and new to Canberra originally from the Coast. I’m working full time in Machinery Sales, 5 days a week. Very tidy person and would prefer a tidy house! Easy to get along with and love a chat! Like cars, Netflix and checking out Canberra! Somebody in their 20’s would be awesome 😊 Feel free to give me a call or send me a message and have a chat! Look forward to hearing from you!
I'm easy going, full time Marketing Manager working in the innovation environment. Love cooking and sharing a good meal over wine. Respectful of others space as I like for others to respect mine. I can't stand bad odors so I keep the place pretty clean, without exaggerating. Looking for someone with values, non smoker (sorry I'm allergic), no drugs (sorry I hate them). Who is relaxed and social thus can have fun in a healthy way.
We are two fun but respectful girls who enjoy cooking, playing board games and watching movies. We have both lived out of home for a couple of years and understand the importance of pulling your weight in a sharehouse. We are very friendly and looking forward to finding our new home!
Returning to Canberra for study and job hunting, after working in the UK and South Sudan. Looking for a room available now or end of March at latest, preferably for 6 months minimum, but intend on settling in Canberra for a while so longer works too. I like sharing dinner and a glass of wine, perhaps having a few others over to do so as well, but not after a party house. On a weekend I'll be heading out for frisbee, running, hiking, with a bit of that through the week too - a spot (on road/off road) for a car is needed. I enjoy keeping communal spaces clean. Would be great to live with people in their mid 20s-30s. Unfortunately sneezing mess around cats :( , and not keen on smoking households. I'd like a room with a window, plus space for a double bed and a small desk. Most importantly, I'd love to meet housemates as well!
Hi! I'm Brent and I just moved to Canberra to work full-time in the APS. I come from Brisbane and have been working overseas for a while until now, in some pretty interesting places. I am quite social but also very happy to have my quiet time. I would be very happy to meet with you over a coffee/drink to get to know you better. I am currently staying in Canberra on my friend's floor until I find somewhere / get accepted to share. Look forward to hearing from you, cheers Brent
Avid book-reader, passionate podcast-listener, and whiskey-enthusiast extraordinaire. Master of the cocktail arts, so much so as it pays the bills. Looking for someone neat and tidy, who gives a damn and shows respect to the space they're inhabiting. Desperately keen for a garden or a bit of shrubbery for weekend reading in the sunlight, or a few beers late at night.
Hi, I'm a research scientist who enjoys playing sports and being out in nature. I’m friendly, respectful, tidy and reliable. Please message me if you'd like to team up or if you have a room available.
I work full time as a technical support engineer, and will be working from Canberra which is why I'm looking for accommodation here! I am originally from Sweden (but an Aus citizen), so this will be the first time I'm permanently living in Australia. In my free time I play quite a bit of video games but I also really enjoy going out and seeing and exploring new things, which I hope I'll be doing quite a bit of! I'm looking for a place where I'll be able to stay for a longer amount of time (6m+), as I'd like to be able to live relatively steady while I have a job. I really am not too fussed about how many people I live with or what they do, as long as they don't smoke inside. I'd also be fine living with any type of pet. As I'm not actually arriving to Australia until March 5th, meeting me before to see who/what I am might be difficult. However, I am totally down to Skype or whatever is suitable beforehand so that that neither of us have to go in blind.
Hey Flatmates(.com.au)! I'm a new arrival in Canberra, having just moved down from Sydney to work for the public service (I can therefore confirm I have a stable income for rent, and that the government trusts me). I'm looking for a room in the Inner North, hoping to commit for at least the next 6 months, if not longer. I've had plenty of experience living in sharehouses, having done so for the past 6 years with nary a complaint. I'm clean, tidy and have a deep appreciation for the needs of privacy and respect. Most importantly, I'm easygoing and adaptable: I've been content living with very different people in a couple of houses and am always quick to adjust my use of a space to the existing occupants and their preferences. I'm an enthusiastic cook (with a willingness to share) but don't like to leave a mess behind in the kitchen. I'll share meals, drinks, netflix, but will also take a fair bit of time to recharge in my room. But don't just take my word for it, here's a testimonial from my current Airbnb host (screenshots available upon request): "Tim is a completely polite, considerate and respectful person and a true delight to host." -- Kate, 2019. Let me know if any of this sounds good to you: always keen to arrange an in person meet to answer any queries!
I am a postgraduate student who is studying in ANU and would like to find a place which is near ANU. My friend, anlin, is also a postgraduate ANU student. We're easy going, friendly and tidy, who have a habit of cleaning regularly. We respect privacy and space.
Hi, My name is Ella and I am looking for a room to rent around the north side of Canberra within walking distance (half an hour-ish) to the city. I am currently working full time in the public service as a trainer and am friendly, easy going and responsible. If you feel that you have something suitable I would love to hear from you. Thank you! Ella
Moved to Canberra this year for work as a high school teacher. Often I leave early and am home late. I have lived in shared housing for the most part of 8 years so I'm neat, tidy, clean and value respect of shared space. I enjoy quiet and personal time but also like catching up with housemates in conversation and some social time over a meal, coffee or wine on occasion. My interests include podcasts, the arts, yoga, walks, dance and netball. Often I enjoy going out for good food and wine, or live music and theatre, as well as exploring the city I live in. Non-smoker. Have a car so prefer off-street parking. Pool or proximity to water a plus. 12 month minimum stay, option to extend a bonus. MUST have a window in bedroom (I’ve seen a lot of new apartments without one).
I’m currrently working at the National Film and Sound Archive, cataloguing the Australia’s collection of Film, TV, Radio and Music. That, combined with a wealth of useless general knowledge makes me an excellent addition to any pub trivia team. Like to think I’m a reliable housemate; I pay the rent on time and do the washing up without being asked. And I mix cocktails, which I would definitely share with any future housemates. I am though, only looking for a room in the inner suburbs of Canberra as I do not own a car. And my budget is absolutely no more than $250 a week. Thanks everyone, Amy
Hi, We are looking for a new house to move into as our current landlord is selling their property. We are tidy and respectful tenants. We have a dog (German Shephard) and a cat (Burmese indoor cat).
Hi I'm a 42 year old professional guy, I run a UK software company and looking to move to Canberra to support some of our customers in AU and also see my daughters who live here with their mum (long story). I'm currently staying in an AirBnB place in Reid, but need to sort out something more permanent. I'm an easy going liberal. Keep my self to my self, though happy to mix and chat. I like movies, reading crime fiction and talking with interesting people. Not a party goer though love to chat with interesting people and generally friendly and easy to get on with. I work form home and don't have much stuff. I like a tidy and calm house and am very respectful of others and their space. I'm a lover of the outdoors and likely out running, walking or cycling (when I get a bike over here) when I'm not working.... working from home means I need to get a out a bit! I like to cook, especially for others, so occasional shared meals are cool. My daughters (age 6 and 10) are at school in Reid and might come over after school or on weekends sometimes. They're lovely girls, but if you can't stand children then we're probably not best flatmates. I'd ideally like a furnished, good sized room in Reid, Braddon, Civic area.... Finding the right people to share with can be harder than finding the right place, so definitely up for a team up to look for the right place if you reckon we could make food housemates. Totally understand that getting on is important, so happy to meet for a coffee or whatever to check before committing to anything. Anyway - if any of that sounds OK, then please consider me for a housemate. Thanks Stuart

I’m in my 5th year at ANU. I’m friendly, considerate and clean. Love having a chat over dinner etc but also understand the need for personal space. I try to keep busy and am out during the day but I love off days to cook and watch a tv show or three. I eat pretty healthy and enjoy going to the gym, yoga and hiking :) Since I’m from Sydney, I go back every few weeks during the weekend.
