Ridgeway is amazing if you are into nature - we are in the bush yet only 7km from the city. Mountain biking and trail-running mecca! We commute by bike a few times a week, its great exercise riding up the hill. It would be necessary to have a car or an e-bike to get your groceries up the hill. We are at 330m elevation, so a little cooler than the city most days, but it is a new home with double glazing and a lovely wood heater. Price is $240 per week including all bills (internet not connected - we just use data on our phones) We are a 10 minute drive from the CBD. It takes me 15 minutes to cycle to work in the CBD and 35 minutes home uphill.
UPDATED : NEW ROOM NOW AVAILABLE Old-ish and a bit quirky in its setup, but an amazing spot with lots of light and an incredible view. Lovely little fireplace and lounge/sitting area, as well as a spare room and storage. Room on offer is really large, with views of the Mountain and the beautiful Church directly opposite. You will be living with 2 others, very quiet, and one is also not there all the time. (Preference is for those around 30yrs or over.) 1 Flatmate is upstairs with his own bathroom/shower/toilet and second room, and then one flatmate downstairs that you would share your bathroom with (and who is often not home). Bills and internet are extra, and you would need to go on the lease. Your room comes unfurnished. If your looking for a place that's friendly but also a bit of a quiet low-key retreat to come home to (but not dead and depressing)...then please say hi. **and some flexibility on an earlier move in date
Hi there! I've been living in my current place in Sandy Bay for about three years but unfortunately my landlord is selling the place so I have to move out. I'm originally from New Zealand but Hobart's been my home for a long time now. I like to fix up old bicycles, and I volunteer at the Hobart Bike Kitchen when I'm not working in the city. I love music, and have done since I began listening to my brother's vinyl collection in the 70s and I'm still onto something new every month When I'm at home I like to fix bicycles when thair are to many like six I give a few away 😬 I read a lot go mountain biking and I'm pretty handy about the house good at spoting problems befor thay become expensive problems landlords like me I tend to eat out, so I don't use the kitchen much I always like to live in a clean home I'm Clean by nature easy to live with and I like to help out if it's called for. I'm polite never grumpy I really don't get the point of grumpynes it's such a wast of time 😳 I respect my housemates' personal space and their privacy, but I like a chat as well. I pay all my bills on time and pay my rent like clockwork. All in all, I'm pretty low maintenance. I'm looking for something with easy access to the city on a bike or bus, around $200 and $220, depending on the place. Looking forward to meeting you! Regards Alan.
this is a large, modern, well appointed home close to all facilities. Located on a main bus route which is regular to the CBD and University. Approximately 14 mins to the city by bus but may be quicker especially by car only 7 mins. It is only 1 - 2 mins to the University if you have your own car. Off street parking is available. It is a very quiet, pleasant area with bush walks and sites close to see. Air conditioning available, a view, a chance you may have your own bathroom. NO smoking here. Utilities to be shared
This is my beautiful home. I have 1 room available. I’m located on Waterworks Road, 25-30 minute walk to the city and 10minute walk to sandy bay shops. There are great views on the city, river and mountains with amazing sunlight It's a spacious, quiet, tidy, homely home. It's non-smoking and definitely not a party house. I'm not into waking up with strangers in the house. The room comes with a king size bed, fully furnished, with views and has an ensuite. We have a laundry space, dining room, big open lounge, 2 balconies, 2 toilets and 2 bathrooms.
Room available in a 2 bedroom unit in S Hobart on Strickland Ave, just past the Cascade Brewery. It has a deck, largish garden, backed by the rivulet and with easy access to the bike track to town and the tracks on the mountain. From a scenic point of view it has a great location especially for someone who likes nature, hiking and an active lifestyle. It has an open plan kitchen and living room, 2 bedrooms and a shared bathroom. It has a retro feel but perfectly functional and comfortable. It is furnished and contains everything you would need.
Hi, I am from India. I have been living in Melbourne for 3 years now and moving to Hobart for work and studies. I am looking for friendly housemates who are tidy, possibly working (or students), respect each other's privacy and fun to hang out with. Would be happy to talk over a beer after work or the weekends. Love listening to music, watching movies, basically most of the time I would be spending in my room otherwise.
Always up for a chat with people. Work part time while putting myself through uni, getting closer to completing my Bachelor of Marine and Antarctic Science. Originally a mainlander but keen to make Hobart home. I'm looking for a room in a share house to lower my cost of living, and be able to enjoy life a bit more. I'm a believer that it's the people that make a home, not the walls and roof.
Hi my names Mat I’m an electrician from country Vic working at the Hobart hospital redevelopment. When I’m not working I enjoy sports, weekends away, camping and hiking, catching up with friends. I’m great to live with because I’m quiet around the house in the mornings, respectful of housemates things and space, keep common areas clean, pay bills on time, always up for a chat, beer/wine or a Netflix binge and have a positive outlook. Non smoker, love pets and don’t mind doing the lawns/gardening.
Hi there, Ex-Tasmanian (from the NW coast) making the move back to the island after a few years on the mainland. Looking for a place in the inner suburbs of Hobart that is cosy, warm and shared with some fantastic people. Be looking to move in late April, am flexible though. Very much pro-pets. A little about me: Making the move back to Tasmania after university and working in Melbourne. I've always loved Hobart, and have decided to bite the bullet and shift down to be closer to the beautiful Tasmanian landscapes and home. Will be working, and possibly studying, which will take up a fair bit of time. In my free moments, I love bushwalking, reading, keeping fit, having a drink or two, getting out and about and meeting people and sharing stories. I'm fairly social, but know when quiet time is necessary. I'm a man who is into men, so if that's an issue, best to skip me. Years of sharehousing has made me, I think, a solid choice in housemate - I'm tidy, I love gardening, and I enjoy making a house a home in a respectful way. No problems on the paying bills and rent on time front either. Give me a go, and you won't be disappointed. Dylan :~)
